These offer for me additional benefits over the standard signal booster. For one you don’t lose a socket and secondly you have a smart plug!
Works with the rest of Hive just fine given the high price for what is essentially just an electronic switch controlled by WI-FI it’s integration with Apple Home can be patchy and it can loose track of where it is in the Hive App and then takes around half an hour to sort itself out Apple Home is definitely the better of the two apps and is always being worked on by Apple. Note that Hive are discontinuing support for the home security range of products so don’t buy them, even if they appear to be available.
Handy Hint: sit next to the Hive hub when first setting them up with your phone or tablet, they connect much quicker, than if you plugged it in to its final location which could well be a good way away.
These units are a terrific bonus in controlling energy usage through the ‘phone App. Auxilliary lighting, stand- alone heaters and towel rails are all overseen by the minute to switch on / off at pre-arranged times and days. So very convenient and money savers too. Genius.
Works great with HIVE app for turning appliances on and off, can turn hut light on at bottom of garden, with simple click, amongst other uses
These can be used for everything so easy to set up and really easy to use. Great if you keep forgetting whether you have turned straightens off cos you can do it off you phone
As long as you are in the hive eco system these are just brilliant, really easy to set up and schedule, time on duration and time off, really easy to set up I use it with Google home and have voice control over certain devices, good value for money buying in 3 pack

I have a lot of Hive and Alexa items in my house. Setting these up was quick and easy. At the present time I am not using the functionality from Hive for their schedule switching on and off, as basically they are only being used to switch on and off one set of times at the same time each day. Hence, Alexa integration is all that is needed. If I was wanting a complex individual daily schedule, then I would be utilising the Hive app for such rather than Alexa.
I love these for items that are plugged in and can get left on by accident. We use them for hair straighteners and the like so if we get the fear they were left on, we can turn them off with our phone.
Also great for lamps when you are away or if the socket is hard to reach.
What an amazing invention. I work away form home so these are a godsend. I can turn 1 of my pond pumps/lights on and off at my leisure, reset a cctv camera if it gets in a pickle, turn garden lights on and off. No limits. A fabulous useful item. The pack of 3 is good value. I have 10 of these and am more than impressed.
Needed these to reign my grandson in, he would be up all night playing his PlayStation.I fitted these plugs one at a time and then set them up using the App. Now he is getting a decent nights sleep. Happy or what.
When plugged in, within a minute ir two they are recognised by the Hive system. Their software is updated and they can then be controlled by the Hive app or switched on or off on a schedule. I have had no difficulties or problems with them – they all work perfectly.
They work well and are easy to set up when you already have the Hive system. They are more expensive than other smart plugs but I don’t know how reliable those are.
This took over a month to arrive but as it was a pack of three and reasonably priced I waited. When it arrived it was three separate plugs in an Amazon box pot a hive 3 pack in an Amazon box. So why so long?
The plugs themselves are great easy to use and fit nicely into my Hive home setup which I access with ease using Alexa Echo and Dot devices.
I know I will order more.
Easy to set-up and very reliable- to date had no problems at all. I presume the reliability and the HIVE Customer service is why they are expensive compared to similar’ products. I now have several of these plugs because of their proven reliability. Not yet tried via Amazon Alexa so unable to comment.
We like having lights on timers and heaters in our outhouse. These stay connected to the wifi perfectly and all work together on the same timings. Would highly recommend.

If I’m dragged off the sofa to leave the house and it gets dark I can turn my table lamps on remotely using the hive app, and it works very well.
Overall , these work well with the hive app and with Alexa too.
