Has been a great way of getting to grips with basic drone control. The drone does tend to drift a bit!
Bought this for my nephew for his birthday. He absolutely loves it. It flies well, battery life is decent and it can be crashed repeatedly and keeps working.
By flight no 3 the tiny drone was doing just what this novice was asking/ expecting it to do.
A bit fiddly for small fingers to set up I would suggest.
First couple of flights best conducted outdoors in still wind but thereafter, relaxed input and familiarity with the controls makes for comfortable indoor precision flying.
This has been a really good round the house toy for my son . Its easy to control and does flips, can land on our hands , and the battery life is good. He even used it to carry (very) small toys from room to room for fun with no problem. Still going strong a few months on.
My 7 year old loves this, ideal for a first drone. Was smaller than I thought, but actually ideal for him.
Would recommend.
akes time to get use to but is fun try landing comps with kids.
Purchased as a present for my nephew, he loved it, seems well made and arrived on time.
While it’s mainly a toy, it really zips around quite nicely, and the gyro-assist makes for a great training tool if you’re trying to train your brain to operate in airspace.
All in all, for the price, a great first drone to test if you’ll have fun yeeting a mini-lawnmower around before shelling out 200 quid for a Tiny Whoop or similar.
it dose what it supposed to do, my son likes it a lot, I like it, the remote is a bit confusing but after a while you get it.
Ordered and delivered on the same day.
It is a great little drone, I bought it to play with my son (2 years old), he loves seeing it buzzing around the house. Pretty easy to control, comes with 3 batteries and 2 chargers. I would recommend it to anyone. It was smaller than I expected but it is fine and nice to fly.
I recommend buying this drone as it has a really good remote control which is easy to use.
It was a little smaller than I expected but very impressed with it, hours of fun to be had with the extra batteries supplied too.
Great little present for your kids, dad will love it too
I was a bit dubious about buying a cheap drone as I had heard that most cheap drones were pretty useless, flimsy, hard to control, rubbish battery etc.I saw this one on lightning deals so thought I would take a punt and what a welcome surprise, my 8 year old could control it really well and has even managed to do quite a few tricks on it. The battery life is really good too and it’s great that it comes with 2 extra batteries so you can charge one use one and have a spare ready. It’s good the drone docks into the controller when not in use so it’s all in one place. Brilliant purchase at a bargain price!
Was a little apprehensive that such a small drone would fly okay but I was amazed how good it is! It will auto launch and hover with the press of one button without moving sideways, is really easily controlled with the remote control and has three speeds! It flies for around 8 minutes on each of the three supplied batteries. Altogether a great little drone!!
We bought this for our 7yo and he loves it. He’s got the hang of it straight away and he’s not bothered if it’s drifting a bit. Really good one for practicing handling a drone I think.
We’ve had a few emergency landings – and even with the guard on, we find a propeller pings off. Not a problem if you can find it, it easily reattached, and there’s 2 spares of each type in the box. I’m a bit worried about finding more spares to buy if we lose them though.
Bit fiddly getting the battery connected the first time- but I do it for him and it’s easy once you’ve worked it out. Battery life is long enough for us (as can cycle through the 3 charged batteries as and when they run out).
I would recommend this. Lots of fun and a big hit with our son.
I’ve tried a bunch of these small toy drones, including some from holystones and 4drc. But this one holds the cake and I will say is my favourite drone.
Main reasons being that:
> it flies extremely well and stable!
> Batteries are quick and easy to charge general
> Very quiet drone, kind of squeaky like a big house fly.
Most importantly it is a fun drone to fly around Indoors and it stays in one place and there’s almost no drifting. ~
The batteries also last a fair amount as advertised, I reckon at least 8 minutes.
Overall I am extremely happy with this product. I’ve only had it for about 2 months now and I would say it got me into drones.
This is the gateway drug to the drone world, so be careful.
This is a good mini drone to practice on until you are confident enough to buy something more expensive.
It needs pairing every time you use it, which is a bit annoying but only takes a few seconds.
It doesn’t hover very well, it drifts, even when it’s trimmed via the remote control. It’s a bit annoying as you can’t just leave it hovering in the air in case it goes sideways and crashes into something.
There is an emergency stop button, so if you see it heading for disaster you can stop it straight away.
The cage is fiddly to fit but protects the blades from damage. This means it can’t be stored inside the remote control unless you pull the cage off again.
The batteries are very fiddly to fit, it’s a tiny connection, which has to be fitted the correct way round to avoid damaging the drone. You do get 2 batteries, prolonging the time you can fly the drone but I’ve no idea how long they will last before a wire gets damaged from trying to constantly unplug it from the drone.
Reasonably priced and easy to fly.
Hope you found my review helpful
The first thing to say is – this thing is TINY! However that also makes it super adorable, when it’s not flying around near you like a fly…
My 7 year old took to flying this drone really quickly, and the 3 batteries are great as you can just switch them out to keep flying longer.
Live the fact you can store it within the remote control unit itself, means not worrying about where it is (although my son did manage to snap off the cover >.<. Would definitely recommend!
Great little dron.I have given 5 stars for batteries even though they last 8 min. There is 3 battries included so you will have enough time to play with the toy.4 stars for” easy to use” becouse I don’t thing there is a drone that is easy to fly in general. And 4 stars for the price..it always could be cheaper:).Its a great little toy.You will have lots of fun with it.enjoy!
Bought for grandkids age 5 and 6. Was worried they may not be able to control it very well, but it was quite easy for them. They both love it. Everything arrived as advertised. Excellent value for money, and due to the small size and rubber outer bands doesn’t damage anything in the house. With 3 batteries and only half hour charge time each, its ready to go all the time. Would 100% recommend. For just over 20 quid definately value for money. Only minor issue is battery connection is small and fiddly for my sausage fingers but the kids got to grips with it fine.
I was very impressed with the HT02 Mini Drone from Holyton it came well packed and contained the following parts:-
The drone itself (which is incredibly small)
The transmitter (which requires 3 AAA batteries — not supplied))
3 x drone batteries (one is already fitted into the drone)
2 x USB charging cables
4 x spare propellers
2 x propeller guards (that fit together over the drone)
A small screwdriver
An instruction book
The drone itself can be stored safely in the transparent compartment built into the transmitter, a really good idea.
After fitting a set of AAA batteries into the transmitter it is only required to plug the drone battery into the drone (there is no on/off switch on the drone) before it is ready for flight. The drone battery connector is quite small so care is required when inserting it into the drone body.
The instruction manual is very clear and the first operation is to turn on the transmitter and pair the drone with it. This just requires pushing the left hand (throttle stick) up then down, the indicator lights on the drone then turn solid showing that pairing is successful. After pairing the gyro needs to be calibrated, a simple operation requiring a single press of the calibration button. It is now ready to fly.
Pressing the ‘one key takeoff/landing’ button the drone takes off and hovers at about 5 feet off the ground and can then be easily controlled using the joysticks (go forwards/backwards, go left/right, turn clockwise/anticlockwise, throttle up/down). Pressing the ‘one key takeoff/landing’ button again makes the drone descend to the ground are turn off the motors. The controls work very smoothly and makes this drone very easy to control. There are 3 speed settings (default is slow) but I found that setting the speed to the fastest setting was the best if you want to try flying the drone outside.
An ’emergency stop’ button on the transmitter can be pressed which immediately stops all the motors.
One really nice feature is the ability to do 360 degree flips in any direction. Simply press the right hand joystick down, the transmitter emits beeps and then move the right hand joystick in whichever flip direction you require. The flips are well executed and are impressive.
Flight time is about 6-9 minutes and the batteries take about 30 mins to recharge. The drone comes with 3 batteries and 2 charge leads so 2 batteries can be charging whilst one is in use. The charge leads need to be plugged into a standard USB outlet and are fitted with a red led which lights up when charging and turns off once the battery is fully charged.
Overall I was very impressed with the HT02, it is very easy to fly, responsive, well made and incredible value for money particularly as it is supplied with 3 batteries and 2 charge leads. I recommend it to anybody interested in purchasing a mini drone, you won’t be disappointed !
I am a registered drone pilot. And was looking for something for my kids to start with. They are 7 and 4 years of age. I got this great little drone and they love it. So easy to fly. Takeoff and landing on one button. It does little tricks which are easy to perform and comes with spare props and 3 batteries. And also a great bumper cage that fits nicely round it. For the price you just can’t go wrong. It also arrived next day when ordered. Which is great when you have kids that nag every day about when it will arrive.
Love it. Its stable, easy enough to control and fun to play with.
I havent had a drone before so I don’t know how it compares, but the buzzy noise it makes is surprisingly loud considering its size, like a huge bee or fly.
I’ve flown lots of toy drones and this is one of my favourites. It is consistently well behaved, very stable and is extremely manoeuvrable. At every speed it is fun – and speed 3 is more than enough for any indoor scenario. Hovering and altitude control are very good. Features are good.
The remote control might put some people off – it looks cheap and childish – but if you get over that, its a nice remote, everything is laid out right there to use and easy to access and you get used to the big bubble in the middle of it e.g. trim controls are there with a dedicated pad. The unit hardly ever needs trimming because it is so well behaved.
The motors on this are directly off the chassis (no flimsy struts) – and the guard is a cage that surrounds the unit – I like that design. Its a stable flier and if you bump a wall, it tends to just bounce off or nudge itself back into flight – it’s very forgiving.
My 8 year old took to it very quickly and my jealous 10 year old returned her larger drone for one of these.
Battery life is as claimed – about 5 – 6 minutes. Slightly fiddly to change the battery but you get used to it and it becomes a quick change after doing it a few times. For that price, I’m not sure you can do much better.
This mini-drone is a great fun gadget for playing around with. It is small and light and is designed to be used mostly indoors where, if using the shield, you can have fun without worrying about breaking anything.
When outdoors, you can use the flip function, which is cool to have in a drone at this price point. However, I wouldn’t recommend using it outside for prolonged periods of time as the wind can easily push it about and cause you to lose control.
3 batteries are provided as you have to switch batteries every around 8 minutes. This could be considered annoying but considering the size, the price, and the fun, this was fine for me.
I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn how to fly a drone on a budget and who doesn’t need to fly outdoors. Flying indoors does have its benefits though, I certainly learned better control as I tried
to fly fast in without hitting anything.
A great drone for a first time flier! We have had a lot of fun with it- perfect gift for a 12 year old. Here are our thoughts:
Good things:
The flips are very accurate and do not lose any height
Easy to use
The headlight is nice and bright and fun for nighttime flights
3 different speeds
Emergency stop feature
Very compact
I have crashed it loads and it hasn’t broken – rounded rubber guards save the paintwork too!
All in all a great drone, there a few criticisms however:
The headless mode is really bad
The return to home just makes it go in a random direction and it doesn’t stop
This is a gift for Christmas.. I was surprised to how small.this drone is . Its perfect for flying indoors or outside on calm days . The drone comes with a battery installed and an extra to so plenty of flying time . I do like the roll bars excellent feature to protect the drone . . The spare propellers are handy as I’m sure they will need replacing. You store the drone in the controller witch keeps it safe . Overall this is a perfect little drone
