Firs my hose like a glove, and all the different functions are great! Easy to fit and easy to use. Can’t detach easy too to prevent damage or weather related damage. It’s stored away right now as it’s winter but it’ll be used again in the spring/summer time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits well!

The TYT Hose Pipe Spray Gun is a must-have for outdoor tasks. With 8 patterns and high pressure, it excels in car washing, pets bathing, gardening, and lawn watering. The anti-leak feature ensures efficiency, and the anti-slip design provides a secure grip. A versatile and reliable tool for various water-related activities and fits well on my water hose.

I can’t yet vouch for the long term reliability of this spray gun, but right now I really like it!

It’s got more spray patterns than I ever think I’ll use, and a flow rate control that works well. I didn’t use the included adapter, but it fits our standard hose fittings without leaking so all good there!

I find it ironic to be testing and reviewing this right after we’ve just been soaked by storm “Babet”, but come summer this will be really useful! Enjoy the spray pattern video! 🙂

I needed a new hose pipe spray gun after inadvertently leaving my Hozelock spray gun outside over winter causing it to develop a leak.

This spray gun (like the Hozelock one I had previously) is fully plastic, so will need to be protected from freezing temperatures over winter so that residual water inside it does not freeze and expand.

The spray gun came with a plastic, male tap fitting, to connect a female-female hose length from the tap to the spray gun.
The tap fitting is adequate, although I would generally recommend buying brass fittings for longevity.

The spray gun fits well in the hand and it is easy to depress the trigger. The trigger is responsive, and the gun comes with a wide range of different spray options including the Soaker, which is brilliant for watering pot plants without accidentally blasting compost everywhere under the pressure of the spray.

The dial rotates smoothly and gives a satisfying click when each option is selected. The trigger can be locked in the ‘on’ position to give your hand a rest.

For some reason, the pressure through this spray gun wasn’t great. I swapped bwteeen this and my Hozelock one (still functional, but leaky) and the pressure is definitely reduced using this spray gun, even with the tap fully open. This may be a nuisance for some, as I like to use the Flat spray function to blast dirt off things, and the reduced pressure makes that less effective.

The main irritation I experienced with this spray gun is that the fit to my hose wasn’t entirely secure. It didn’t leak from the joint when connected, but I tend to hold the spray gun and walk across the garden so that the hose reel unrolls as I walk. Doing the same with this spray gun, the gun just popped off the hose (with Hozelock female fitting) and needed to be reattached (resulting in a face full of spray for me unless I walked back to turn the tap off every time)
After the spray gun had detached itself multiple times in a few minutes through me either pulling it to unroll the hose, pulling it around a tree, or reaching to water plants at the back of the bed, it started to get extremely irritating.

Given the cost of this item, I can’t expect perfection, and potentially those two niggles wouldn’t bother someone else who uses their hose differently, but it’s something to bear in mind.

Not sure if I skimmed past it but it doesn’t seem to fit ALL hoses (so not a one-fits-all situation)
We’ve had to heat up the end of our hose (with a lighter) to stretch it out a bit to fit the bottom of the spray handle inside, and then secured it in place just in case as well. If we didn’t secure it, it would’ve been leaking on the sides.
Aside from that, seems like good quality material (somewhat between plastic and metal, so not too cheap to break when you touch it, but if you let it fall a few times, it would probably break but that’s simply a speculation).
Performs very well with 10 different settings:
    Jet
    Soaker
    Angle
    Mist
    Vert
    Center
    Full
    Flat
    Shower
    Cone
So plenty of options for different needs, from watering your garden, washing your car, getting light stains off things and more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent but be careful

The first thing I noticed is the sturdy construction of this hose gun. It’s a really robust feeling plastic with rubberised grips.

It feels far more premium than the two plastic and one metal Hozelock guns I’ve had, and better than another ‘premium’ metal branded one, all of which lasted just a few weeks before developing leaks and other issues. I’ve not had this gun long enough to judge its longevity, but I have high hopes that I won’t need to replace this one any time soon.

Unlike a previous item from a different vendor, this went straight on to my existing hose connector from a well-known rival and didn’t leak at all under pressure. It has several spray patterns with clear labels and clicks into each position. There’s a small metal loop at the top of the trigger which looks like a hanging hook but it’s actually a loop you can flip down to keep the trigger “pressed” for unattended filling.

It also came with a spare adaptor to convert a tap to use the same connector, although puzzlingly it’s for converting a tap and is the same gender as the tool connector so it can’t be used to convert a hose to fit this device. Still, it’s a spare part to file away in a drawer.

So no real downsides, other than it feeling a little lighter than expected but it’s relatively inexpensive.

Overall it works, which is the important thing
I think it lacks a few features and not all of the settings are useful, but that is pretty much par for the course at this price point and not a criticism of this unit, just in general you will likely have 1 or 2 that you use for everything

    What I liked :
No leaking whatsoever from the connector
The few nozzle settings that are useful are good
Good hand grip and comfortable to hold

    The middling :
A few lacking features such as setting the spray to constant spray is a small metal clip that you push back to stop the plunger from resetting. A few extra will get you one that has an on/off toggle on the handle directly
Full plastic body. Probably fine, but I prefer ones with a metal frame for the nozzle switch because this is usually where they perish

    The bad:
Most settings are not really useful, but as mentioned this isn’t unique to this unit

    Overall :
Does what you need it to at a very reasonable price poi

My first thought on using this was that it was hopeless, it was leaking out the back and the pressure was terrible. So i read the other reviews which were all very favourable and I assumed either mine was faulty or I’d attached it incorrectly! So I tried again and noticed a tiny little piece near the back which I moved over to the right, and it worked perfectly! My only complaint now is that it’s quite stiff to change between settings. But apart from that I’m happy with it.

This is a great value for money hosepipe gun. The usual 8 pattern settings. A toggle to increase and decrease pressure. I need this as I need gentle pressure to water seedlings so they’re not dislodged and max pressure for jetting off pots etc when cleaning. A lock in place trigger so you can fill a bucket without having to hold the trigger on. This gun is plasticky but does have a good rubberised handle grip. For the current price of 8.99 this is great value.

**IMPORTANT** This does not come with the adapter to click on to the end of the hose, so *NOT* for a first time spray-gun (unless you want to buy the adapter separately). As a replacement: Great stuff. Clicks straight in, no leaking, away you go.

Squeeze-handle locks in to place easy enough with the swivel-switch & pressure can be controlled by either using said handle, or the slider switch on top (a great idea, for those of us with mobility issues).

Comfortable to hold, doesn’t feel heavy after a while, spray dial locks in place easily & is also easy to twist.

    All-in-all it’s an easy-to-use item, just a shame it doesn’t come with a connector/adapter, for the hose.

The TYT spray gun is very easy to use. It has a selector ring (my words) which can be rotated in either direction to selection one of the following spray patterns: Shower; Flat; Full; Cone; Center; Jet; Mist and Flood.
There is a high flow to low flow ring too. Rotate this to increase the flow or decrease. There is also a stop/release locking device. You select your flow and then put then rotate the stop/release arm which allows you to just use the selected spray without having to hold the spray lever all of the time. You can move from one pattern to another with or without the ring.
The “face” of the spray gun has different sized nozzles which determine the spray shape that you have selected.
The “Shower” nozzle is as per your bathroom shower in shape. The “Flat” nozzle just comes out of the top of the nozzle. The “Full” flow just come out of the top nozzle – almost rope like in shape. The ” Cone” spray is at the top with an arc 45 degrees in either direction. The “Centre” spray is just several separate divergent
sprays at the top. The “Jet” spray is just one solid – about half an inch – spray. The “Mist” is a very fine spray indeed at the top and finally the “Flood” is all of the holes spraying except the discrete 8 smaller sprays.
I used the “Shower” setting to top up our 4×5 metre pond. I washed my car with the “Shower” and “Jet” settings. The “”Jet” easily removed sycamore seeds caught in the roof rack bars and the alloy wheels dirt.
There are spare filters and a hose connector.
Overall, a great design which is robust and should last a long time. The yellow/grey/red design is also easy on the eye. So, a 5 star rating comes from me.

Granted I’ve always gone for hose guns on the cheaper end of the spectrum but this is by far the best one I’ve had. The different settings are all very powerful. Particularly fond of the flood setting as it sprays forward a bit rather than just drizzling from the bottom of the hose gun to the point I’ve never used it on others. The shower setting is also better than others I’ve used.

The biggest highlight though is the pressure setting dial, so much better and more convenient than having to keep twisting the end to get different pressure with continuous spraying, I tend to alternate this a lot as I have a south facing garden so potted plants in particular dry out quick and benefit from gentle soaking before deeper watering. My ground soil is also very heavy clay so I do tend to alternate pressure a lot.

It also did a fairly good job of breaking up some of the false widow webs in my garden, which I tend to find are that strong even my jet washer struggles to blast them away!

My only criticisms are that the jet spray seems quite weak for a jet spray and there doesn’t feel like there’s much difference between that and the full setting. I’d say the full is more powerful of the two to be honest. The jet also sprays wide on lower pressures rather than a direct spray. I was also a little confused with the mesh rings and whether I needed to add one/if there was one already in, and gave up trying to check as the hose fitting it arrives already attached with is screwed on extremely tight. Some basic instructions might have been handy for the different parts. Both of these are minor though.
Had no apparent leaks or anything either so I’m very happy with it!

This is a good quality product that has enough spray pattern choices to suit my needs and more.

The trigger can be locked and this is a great feature for anyone with grip problems or arthritis.

Ordered as a replacement head for our hosepipe. This was easy to attach to the hose. Once on, it fit tight and there’s been no leaks.

There are plenty of functions including mist, shower and jet. There is a clip to keep the trigger pressed in – handy for filling a paddling pool!

The only issue I’d say is that the trigger is quite stiff, it needs pushing with force, as is the dial to change the function.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of functions

The best thing about this hose is that you can adjust the pressure of the flow. The worst thing is that it is not very heavy duty, but if you want lightweight it is great, just don’t throw it around.

There are plenty of settings that you could you want but I really only use a few for gardening and most spray guns will cover that, this has 8 which is fine.
I have a lot of seedlings and tender plants and many types of plants that require different watering pressure, so being able to easily adjust the sensitivity of the water pressure easily with one hand when using is really a must for me in a quality spray gun.

It is all plastic with plastic connectors and the construction feels sturdy enough for a lightweight plastic hose. It is very simple to use and can be used by all the family due to its versatility, lightweight nature and ease of use.
The pressure is more than adequate if you already have good water pressure.
The handle is comfortable to grip and you can easily lock it when in use to keep the flowing so you can just hold it loosely.

I would recommend this hose to anyone looking for a decent and affordable general purpose hose with multi settings and adjustable flow rate. If you want something more heavy duty, with metal connectors that isn’t going to mind being dropped and knocked then consider a more heavy weight expensive option.

The spray is a little smaller than the Hozelock spray it replaced, for me it could be larger but for my wife she thinks it is a good size.
In the hand it is lighter than the Hozelock but the handle part where the fingers grip has a rubber surface making it easier to hold when wet.
There is a good selection of spray patterns which are very powerful when set to ‘maximum pressure’.
I like that it is supplied with a spare hose connector and three in-line wire filters (although no filters were fitted when delivered).
I will update the review when the spray has been through a British winter to see how it holds up.

I bought this to replace the spray gun that came with the hose pipe a few years ago. This product is much sturdier than I expected it to be. It works well.

I have an expandable hose and after 12 months the spray gun leered badly. I loved the expandable hose and was pleased to find a good replacement nozzle with 2 adapters. Good buy
