You can use the metal part to attach to a 22cm tap thread and then use to attach an inlet pipe for dishwasher or washing machine. I rent so I have a mini dishwasher that I just attach when needed. Took ages to find the right part but this is it. First one corroded but was after 3 years heavy use in limescale area.
