Worked on one out of two kitchen mixer taps I tried it on. And happily it worked without leaking! As long as the top of the tap isn’t too curvy it should be ok.

This fitting is strong offering a secure fit to the tap head. The supplied rubber washes offer a range of options for the seal to the tap opening. The opening dimension just fits over the tap with a little space, so worth noting the opening dimensions if unsure.

Sadly, I don’t yet have an outside tap in my new house. I originally bought a different make of this as I had seen it used elsewhere, but I managed to break that one on my kitchen tap the first time I tried to use it (probably my fault, I may have twisted it too far!). I was really worried about having a hose running through the house but this has been perfect – no leaks at all, even into the sink!

Brilliant Piece of kit… For extra security for my tap I placed a piece of padding you would get for under chair legs on the tap to save it from getting damaged… Works a treat brilliantly… Very impressed with this… No leaks… Great normal water pressure coming out of it… Impressed

Hozelock brand are well made, very durable and long lasting.
Hence, I highly recommend Hozelock to anyone.
They are definately value for money. The Hozelock brand are known for their quality of products.
I use Hozelock products for my pressure washer and an Hozelock hose to water my garden. The hose connections lock securely in place and do not leak. If purchasing this product I highly recommend you buy the hozelock hoze connections too to ensure compatability and long lasting reliability of this item.

This product has been with me for over a year. The material used to make it is of the highest quality, the workmanship itself is perfect. I am very pleased and I heartily recommend it.

Initial fitment resulted in leakage caused by my not checking for any scale buildup under the tap. Carefully scraping that off with a spoon! then a scouring pad 🙂 resulted in a superb seal & no more leaks. If you’re using a turn lever tap then pull off the little cap over the retaining screw, use a well fitting screwdriver, usually Phillips, re-position the lever about 45 away from pointing forwards, then the lever won’t foul the adapter. Used it numerous times in the last couple of weeks and still working fine.

Wanted to run hose from kitchen mixer, this fits securely and turning on tap on full with other end not item it doesn’t leak a drop. Several washers supplied for optimum fit. Works well with horizontal straight tap, would not work with very curved tap as you need flat bit on top directly above water outlet, to clamp onto.

We have an unusual shape mixer tap and this connector works on it, we have had to try the different washers to find the best fit. It has been helpful to be able to use our hose again.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWorks great but we had to make improvisations so it doesn’t slip off (to accommodate the round end of our tap). Please see pics. Epoxy putty with lolly stick. Fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but does not fit ALL taps without improvisatio

The washer narrows the diameter of the inner tube which restricts the water flow if using the cold water tap (which on my mixer tap means the outer rim of the tap nozzle). So while it is fine if using hot water, if using cold you can only use it on very low pressure before it starts spraying water everywhere.

Bought this as I wanted a power washer, and don’t have an outside tap. Ever so simply put your tap through the hole and turn the knob till it’s tight, turn on water,if it leeks put the smaller rubber washer and go again (I did) water belts out the cold tap at some force, simply click on the connector and the hose to power washer, and that’s you. No plumber under your sink,or drilling holes in outer walls, this is brilliant, abet your finished with it,simply unscrew for the next time. See it working on that famous site we all know. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY BRILLIANT BIT OF KIT FOR LITTLE MONEY BUILT BY WORLD FAMOUS GARDENING FOLK .jimmythefish-cart. PS The hose lock end is already set up just to click your garden hose onto,No expensive plumber needed,a breeze to install, about 10 seconds, honestly, fab bit of kit, that works exactly like the outside tap, only you’ve no fear of it busting like an outside tap in the freezing winters. P S ,Almost a year on and this little gizmo is still doing the job of an outside tap, absolutely brillia

As another person wrote you may need a bit of improvisation. I have pretty difficult taps the handle sits very closely to the spout of the tap and directly above it when off. I’d tried a couple of types that proved absolutely useless. This one provides a solid seal with very little effort needed, however I do need use a little bit of pretty obvious impro but the snap connection means I get absolutely no splashback. Comes at a price though as the snap connector is priced separately so the whole unit comes in at 12.00 but it’s a well designed quality bit of kit that totally solved my problem.

Having just moved in to a new home with a massive garden and unnaturally high privets that the previous owners never kept in shape we had a ton of stuff to use for compost but the hot weather had me worried it may catch fire as it dried out so quickly. So no outside tap I quickly did a search and read many reviews for many tap connectors and plumed for this 1 and I am not disappointed either. It arrived in 3 days, it was easy to attach to the kitchen tap (long, thin with just the 1 lever) and it comes with 2 separate washers and I needed the bigger washer too. No water squirting everywhere, no leaks just great. To think I was going to buy the retractable garden hose too but I got a bargain in Aldi, a 25m hose pipe and this attachment, for 25 I got the whole kit and kaboodle and I’m 1 happy camper.

We tried this on a selection of our taps but found you need a very specific design of tap for it to work.

It won’t work on any tap that has a curved top (it slips on the curve as you try to tighten it (and it has to be tight otherwise it leaks).
It wont fit on any tap where the water flow is set slightly back from the tap end (like our tap that’s pictured) as the connector’s casing stops the tap protruding at the front. To get round this we had to file the plastic casing and enlarge the front hole in order to allow the tap to protrude. Once we did this we could then line up the tap opening with the gasket seal and tighten it in place.

It leaked a bit but was useable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Will only fit a very specific style of tap.

After reading the instructions on the back and a minute of seeing which washer would fit my tap best, I quickly installed onto my mixer head (took about 20 seconds, 10 seconds of which was me not realising it wasn’t fully unscrewed out the box) and is running beautifully. No signs of leaks or spray after a bit of use.

As a young professional renting a small ground floor flat with no access to outside water taps, but do have two aquariums that I have been filling by bucket, this may be the best thing I’ve ever bought. It’s thick plastic, looks and feels very durable and has that quality weight to it. I’d be amazed if it breaks/cracks on me.

It’s going to save me so much time and energy. I love it already.

ps. This is the first customer review I’ve left for any of my 100+ amazon purchases – hopefully, this shows everyone how happy I am with it. Installed correctly, you shouldn’t have any issues, based on my experience.

Easy to fit onto the tap and I don’t have any leaks.
It has left a little dent on the top of my tap ( probably because it has to be screwed on quite tight) but I think that’s due to my taps not being the best quality. I don’t mind the dent myself but I thought it’s best to mention just in case you do.

After surviving a major Stroke which left me with much weakened hands. This item demonstrably showed how easy it is to fit perfectly. Even for me!

First, I checked my tap sizes with my Vernier Gauge (I happened to have them, a ruler should be fine), then popped the round circular seal in the bottom.

Next, from the 2 included different sized seals I determined the appropriate one to use by testing each on the underside of the tap for best-fit at the right orientation (see packaging).

Having selected my best one to use, I found it easiest to place this on to the circular seal already in place (correct side up of course).

Lastly, simply insert tap into position & screw-tighten. There’s no need to go berserk and over-tighten to the max.

Dribble small flow through tap to test, increase flow to the max to make sure if everything sits right.

That’s it. Works a treat for me.

It should be simple to fit and would be if the company sent proper instructions. It was trial and error setting it up. I can use it without it leaking or spraying out water but only on low pressure water. High pressure water going into the hose from my upstairs flat to downstairs garden just sprays everywhere. So if you’re not fussy, it does the job.

BTW. One of the hard rubber things on top of tap, one underneath and the tiny black washer goes over the spout of the device. So easy when you know how!!

I bought a hose with universal adaptors, but it didn’t fit my silly little lever tap, so I bought a flexible ‘universal adaptor’ and that didn’t work either. – As a last resort, before paying a plumber 220.00 to install an external tap, I bought this little thing…

…And soaked myself trying to install it. – Thing is, it’s designed for mixer taps, but I’ve individual taps with the lever so close to the tap, it has to be in the ‘open’ position to install it. – So, yeah, I soaked myself before remembering I had a switch installed to isolate the water. – Flicked switch, and this beauty went straight on, the fit so secure there wasn’t a drop spilled. – And then, just as I was about to water the parched ground, the heavens opened and it started raining…

…It’s been raining ever since. God hates me…

Our tap has the spout set a little too far back on the tap for this connector to fit properly. Unfortunately the tap connector access hole is much smaller at the “back” compared with the front. As such, the tap will go through the front and get stuck at the back, and as such the seal may not reach all spouts. In our case, it was not possible to make a tight seal.

I ended up cutting the smaller rear access hole to be the same size as the front (with a multitool), so that the connector can slide further along the tap and it works absolutely fine. It overcomes the needlessly limited design of this connector.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWorks fine, IF you’ve got the ‘right’ tap.
It will not work properly on a tap with rounded top, like ours in the kitchen.
But if your tap has straight sides and a flat top and not too big, then this connector should work.
Note though that the description of the item is a bit misleading.
It has 2 rectangular openings for the tap to fit in; one is 34 mm x 43 mm (width x height), the other one is 20 mm x 38 mm (w x h).
The connector is fixed on the tap and hold in place by turning the large grey screw sitting on top of the connector..
Therefore, if the top of the tap isn’t flat, the connector cannot be fixed properly.

out of all the connectors i’ve tried, this is the only one that almost fits my kitchen mixer tap. it’s not perfect, it still dribbles a bit but i can put a washing-up bowl under the tap and use the water in a watering can. so-called “universal” ones were useless and squirted everywhere so at least this one doesn’t do that so i’m more than happy to keep it. i had to return the others because they were no good to me. i really don’t think there can be any such thing as a universal fitting because there are so many styles of tap out there nowadays and we just need to persevere until we find the right one for us. this is the right one for me. it comes with two different gaskets (i call them) as shown in the picture so it will take a bit of fiddling to find the best fit. i found it and i’m happy that i can now use a tap in the kitchen instead of my outside tap that has low water pressure. i’ll now be able to do the job in half the time.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo stupidly I bought I hozelock hose pipe and assumed that it may fit one of the taps in my home. I frustratingly don’t have have an outside tap and sure as hell, it obviously didn’t fit any taps inside my house. I then thought surely there must be an adapter for indoor taps and the hunt began, Amazon being the first port of call. I found this cheap looking thing and thought… I’ve gone this far, let’s try it!
I received the package some days later and tested it out….. But it failed, it appeared too big! I noticed there were small circular extension like bits that came with it, so I tried again. I placed a black rubber thing in the adapter and then a grey one which I assumed locked onto the tap end and the black bit! I turned the tap on… Fingers crossed….pow, the water ran straight through with no leakages at all!
I should mention that I did this with just the adapter attached not the hose pipe but I’m going to assume that it would work fine!

I have just bought this, as the one we have (exactly the same) is now about 9 years old and worn! Both washers have had their day 😉 I stuck with this make as I know it, and have had great results! We have a mixer/lever tap, which is approx: 30mm in height, and it has always fitted fine. I have noticed that some people have complained they get a leak, and someone even said they had their kitchen flooded. Well this has happened to me a few times, but it is just a case of making sure it is fitted securely, it has to be really tight and then it is fine. Also when you start to run the tap, run it slow and let the water build up in the hose gradually, then turn it up to full-whack….this prevents any sudden bursts of pressure, therefore preventing the Hozelock flying off 😉

Anyway I am very happy with this product, as having no outside tap it is really a massive help! 5 Stars from me – packaged well and delivery swift and a good price 😉
