I was fed up with previous ink jet printers, paying more than their weight in gold for ink cartridges that would only last a few weeks at most.
This ink tank printer is in another league, except for its very reasonable price.
We’re now happy to print anything and everything. So far, we’ve probably printed 50-60 A4 colour pages, and there’s no sign of ink levels dropping.
Pretty easy to set up, and is recognised by all our devices without a fuss.
Good value.
Purchased elsewhere. Still in the early stages of trying the printer but I’m very impressed so far. Had my old printer for a number of years and I didn’t realise how much better the picture quality can be. Love the ink cartridges and the ultra low cost of the printing, in the past I’ve hesitated to use my printer unless I had to because of the cost (Defeating the purpose of having the printer) but now I’m much more confident in using it. Only downside is it’s made of plastic and is pretty clunky, I’d give it a 5 if it was a bit more eco friendly.
So firstly the packaging is great, really minimal and.easy to get the product out, none of the polystyrene mess that usually comes with these types of product Setup, this is were the printer lost a star. Actually found it quite difficult to set up and could not get it to connect, after resetting the WiFi a couple of times and playing around with it we finally got it working ,it did take longer than other printer setups and was getting quite frustrating Putting the ink in was effortless and no mess! It will last a while so that’s a massive pro Printing quality was great and once all set up it’s very easy to do and you can see the ink levels which is great. The only thing is the printing seems a little slower than my last printer Overall a great printer, would recommend, especially for the ink. As someone who prints a lot this will definitely save us some money
I was quite surprised at the size of the printer when I un-boxed it as it is larger than I expected and larger than the HP printer it has replaced. Packaging was minimal but sturdy which is good from an environmental point of view. The set up was ok. I struggled slightly as I already the app installed etc and set up for my previous printer so it wasn’t as simple as setting up from scratch would have been, however I got there eventually. The game changer for me is the ‘loading’ of the ink – amazing! Such an easy, quick and clean process. I will be interested to see if I get anywhere near the 3 years of printing out of the ink supplied with the printer as suggested. If it does it will be fantastic value for money so fingers crossed!
The print quality is very good and whilst it is a little larger than expected it is a good looking printer. It is very quiet when printing which is ideal as it is in our sitting room so doesn’t disturb any chatting or tv watching going on. The only negative is the paper feed in my opinion. It is top loading but it isn’t clear when you load the paper if it is in ok. There is not an efficient guide to make paper goes in neatly and you cannot load much paper at a time. That said for my usage that is acceptable and a minor overall issue and I am pleased with my new printer, I would recommend.
From opening the box to using the printer, I have been impressed throughout.
The printer was packaged well but didn’t have excess packaging which is great for the environment.
I followed the instructions via the instruction manual and it was very quick and easy. The best part was filling up the ink, it was mess free and so easy to do. I am looking forward to not having to replace ink cartridges which cause a mess like my old printer and these new ones should last around 3 years!
Next up was setting up the app on my phone and laptop to connect to the printer wirelessly, again, it was easy to do and I had no complications setting this up including adding the Wi-Fi password. I absolutely love that the app can show me the ink levels, I can print from my phone amongst many more great functionalities.
The printer is a little wider than the previous one and it is too loading as opposed to front loading, I think the paper loading is something that could be improved on future models but for me, it doesn’t affect anything.
The actual printing is crisp clear and the buttons on the printer are very user friendly.
Overall I am very happy with this printer, it is modern and a great price. I highly recommend!
After returning from holiday, I unboxed my printer. It was well packaged in plastic see through bag and easy to pull out using the handles. I downloaded the app and followed the instruction and was surprised how easy it was to set up as I have had issues setting up previous printers and have required help. The ink was easy to top up, the calibration was straight forward and the test page printed. I was impressed with the print quality but the speed was much slower compared to toner cartridge printers that I have. I was happy with the printer for colour but I will continue to use my toner cartridge printer for black and white printer, just for the share speed. I am a bit dubious on the claim of 3 years worth of ink included but will have to wait and see.
Extremally well packaged, everything was also nicely packed inside, i.e. the ink. And I LOVED the pull up handle, why don’t other companies do this?! It meant no putting the box on it’s side to pull the printer out, which meant nothing got damaged. I followed the process for set up via the app, and I did initially think I needed the paper instructions to do this but didn’t. This was really handy as everything I needed to do was on the app, and super easy to follow! I was worried about getting ink everywhere (I don’t think I’ve seen a ‘wet’ ink for years!), but one bottle fully fills the tank, and was a very clean process. I printed via my phone and also my laptop, and it was easy to use both, and no errors (which I got with my old printer). The quality of print is fantastic, and I even used some photo paper to see if that worked, and it did! And great quality too! It was actually better than my old specific photo printer! The printer isn’t too heavy to move, if (like me) you store it on a shelf until needed. The printing is quick, colour quality is amazing, and such a reasonable price! I would highly recommend.
This printer was very easy to set-up. The ink refills took minutes to fill up the printer and there wasn’t any mess which was impressive. The app was a bit clunky but was able to set-up my account and connect my printer to the wifi with very little skill. Printing with my Mac/iPhone is very easy print quality is pretty good. Photo printing is okay, not as good as the printer this will replace however. I wish that this printer used a tray under the printer for the paper as i don’t like how it looks having the paper loaded from the rear of the printer.
I recently purchased the HP Smart Tank 5105 Wireless All-in-One Colour Printer, and I am absolutely delighted with my decision.
SET UP:
The setup process was a breeze. Using the HP app on my iPhone, I effortlessly configured the printer with clear step-by-step instructions. Within minutes, I was all set up and ready to print without any guesswork.
SMART TANKS:
The smart tank system, which uses ink bottles to fill tanks within the printer, initially concerned me about potential messiness. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how straightforward and spill-free the process was. The ink bottles securely clicked onto the tanks, and I could remove them without any spills once they were full. Not a single drop of ink was wasted. The printer comes with a set of ink bottles that promise nearly 3 years’ worth of ink, and checking online, I found that purchasing a full set of genuine HP refills is very cost-effective compared to traditional ink cartridges. Plus, the convenience of not having to remove, hold onto, or recycle cartridges adds to the printer’s value.
PRINT QUALITY:
I connected the printer to my laptop and printed a PDI test image, a well-known industry standard for evaluating print quality. Comparing the printed image from the HP Smart Tank 5105 to the original image, the results were truly impressive. The printer captured a wide range of tones, colors, and details accurately, including skin tones, deep blacks, and various levels of saturation. The print quality exceeded my expectations.
One noteworthy point is that the print heads have a limited life, but replacement heads are reasonably priced at around 15 each, making it still more cost-effective than traditional cartridges.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the HP Smart Tank 5105 Wireless All-in-One Colour Printer. Its easy setup, cost-efficient smart tank system, and impressive print quality make it a fantastic choice for anyone in need of a reliable and high-performing printer.
Great Printer and no more cartridges

I was, and still am, excited about this printer but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was having a bit of a mare. Firstly, it’s amazingly well packaged, and whoever thought of the handles on the plastic bag needs a raise. it was easy to find all that was need and the instruction booklet is well written and illustrated. now whilst you can download the Smart App from the App Store and install it on a Mac, Safari isn’t its biggest fan, it took some time but it turns out installing Chrome and using that as the browser allowed everything to carry on. The App worked great and was so good at going through all the steps, filling the ink was so easy, and it was fascinating, as stupid as that sound, to see the smart tank fill up, as was installing the print heads, test page printed fantastic, so did the scanned page, we’re off!!! Except we’re not, anything other than a photo will only print in grayscale, there is no drop down box to choose colour. And I am off!!!, for real this time, I restarted everything and it’s all just clicked into place, my only worry is that the ink won’t last 6 months at the rate I’m printing!!!. The colours are so true and vibrant, even on test paper, I can’t wait to get back to card making and I really need to print off some photos. I have a new craft cutting machine that has recently introduced sticker files and 6 grandchildren who are nearly as excited as me. The printer has a good pedigree and a small footprint, taking up very little room, it’s about half the size of the behemoth I used to have. it’s very sleek. if I had to have a negative its that the paper size slide can be a little fiddly but that might just be me. Overall this is a great 3 in 1 printer and I’m more than happy with what I have done so far. It also prints on up to 300gsm, this is another win in my book, for anyone who does paper crafts, print small patterns for sewing, certificates etc. being able to print on a variety of thicknesses is great. I’m just moving into sublimation so I can’t wait to see how the colours look on iron-on transfer paper

A really professional looking printer, that is easy to set up. My family and I have had plenty of printers in the past but this model is by far the best we’ve had. It’s extremely easy, has loads of functions that are easier to use via the HP App, but also prints what you want to a high quality and fairly quick speed. It isn’t too bulky and is a good all round printer, scanner and document/photo copier. I would recommend downloading the app for setup as it does everything for you but having the function to print via phone is also a great time saver and again, makes it’s especially easy to print without turning your computer/laptop on. Black and white and colour quality is great, whilst the quiet printing function does actually work. I like the refillable bottles of ink which were mess free and easy to top up whilst printing. An efficient and useful printer overall!
I absolutely love this printer. I’ve needed to upgrade my printer for a while, and this printer has been the perfect upgrade. It’s absolutely everything you need from a printer. The packaging is compact, minimal but effective. It has an easy lift bag which makes getting the printer out the box so easy. It has one wire which makes it super easy to put together and it sets up over wifi/Bluetooth, so again so so easy. The print quality is fantastic, and I love that it’s a refillable tank making it more eco friendly too. I was a bit apprehensive at first about filling the ink up as I didn’t want to spill it causing a mess and waste, but it’s designed not to spill and it really doesn’t, I am so impressed by it. I’ll mainly be using my printer along side my cricut machine for crafting and printing and so far, it’s been so good to work them together. The printing is clear on the HP, my cricut has zero issues finding the reference lines which I sometimes had problems with before. So over all, I am so so happy with my new HP printer. It’s super easy to use and prints so good. No complaints.
The HP Smart Tank all-in-one Printer was an excellent addition to my household. I work in childcare so always have things to print off and do and I also tend to do a lot of online shopping so returns labels are always needed in my household which I can now get with ease! To start the box itself the printer arrived in was fab as it was a carrycase design with handle, making it easy to transport around. This is also great for when needing to move the printers location. There was clear instructions on how to remove the printer without damage and how to set up which made it a breeze. There was the option to set up via app or the booklet which was great. The printer is lightweight, stylish and modern which would fit great in any home. The paper loading system from the back may put some people off if they are tight for space as it’s not bottom loaded. The refillable ink cartridges is the main selling point of this printer due to them being a lot more affordable and eco friendly than other printers. The printing quality is excellent. It is quick and is fit for purpose in every aspect. I would definitely recommend this printer and cannot wait to use it for years to come.
This arrived on Sunday afternoon, I opened the box and it was very well packaged, all the power cords No and print heads were in a separate box sitting on top. After lifting that off it revealed the printer beneath, it was in a bag that had carry handles which made it super easy to lift out. Other manufacturers could learn from HP here., no need to wrestle with lump of polystyrene breaking chunks off as you try to pry the product out. It lifted our so easy. Setup was a breeze, just download the app on follow the easy guided instructions, had it connected to my phone and three computer very quickly. Black text prints quickly and is very sharp and clear to read. Colour documents too are reasonably quick to print and of adequate quantity. I tried to print a coupe of photos and that’s where the WiFi printing struggled, after I connected with a usb cable I already had the photo printed quite quickly. I have to admit to being a touch disappointed by the photo quality. Don’t get me wrong it is still perfectly acceptable but my previous printer was a photo printer with 7 inks so it’s probably a touch harsh to compare the photo quality of both. Had I not had that one I would probably have quite happy with the phot print quality. I used it today to print some documents for work, choosing greyscale and draft to try out the speed, while it will never keep up with a laser it did spit the documents out within an acceptable timeframe and even though it was draft mode they were still sharp and easy to read. Used it more this week for work, it’s super quick to start up and prints quickly.
my printer arrived the next working day and i was very happy to receive it, i quickly unboxed it and all the components, including the instructions, read through instructions and began by connecting the wifi, you have to download the app and from there it is very straight forward, next was to fill the ink you have 4 bottles unscrew lid and push down on the right colour and it fills each tank safely and effectively, no fuss, no bother. my daughter who is at uni needed some items printing off so she connected to the printer through her phone and away she went, it did take a while to start printing, which in my opinion is the only drawback, it prints perfectly and was quick and easy to set up. i would highly recommend this printer, looks great, works great.
Prior to delivery of my HP Smart Tank 5105 printer today, I had investigated the features and functions of the product and I will admit that I was very excited to receive it. I have been using an HP printer for a few years, but this new model seemed to be leaps and bounds ahead from my old model with new features that I had never experienced before, several of which were not only innovative, but over the course of time, would actually save me money.
When the box arrived I thought that it seemed smaller than I had expected, but when I unpacked the printer I was surprised by the size actually being larger than I had thought. The unit is large in its footprint on my desk, but low in height. It did mean that I did have to make some moves to my computer workstation to accommodate the unit, but once in place, I was raring to go.
Setup was quite straightforward using the HP app. Once I had scanned the QR code from the instruction manual, it guided me through the whole process and within minutes I was up and running. I appreciate the wifi printing option on this printer as it means that I do not have to install another cable to my computer, while the ‘self healing’ wifi this model has should mean that I will stay connected and print instantly every time. I was also impressed by the Smart Tank element of the printer. I am someone who goes through periods of printing a lot then barely anything and I often found that the nozzles of my cartridges would dry out and clog, so I am hoping that this will not be so much of an issue here. I also think that the use of the bottles and not cartridges is generally a more eco-friendly way of printing as there is much less plastic waste over the number of years that this printer will be used. I was apprehensive about the actually filling of the tanks. I expected the process to be messy but HP have even got this covered with specially designed caps which get the product into the tanks without any spillage.
I have completed a few test prints and am impressed by the print quality. The letters are crisp and clear with no smudging. So far I am very happy with my purchase and trust that it will provide me with many years of easy, stress free printing.
I brought this printer to replace one from another manufacturer. I like the idea of using separate refills per colour and being able to see the ink levels from the front of the printer. I also like that there’s no print bleed despite using low quality paper, and the printed image is dry so doesn’t smudge when touched which I’ve had from ink jet printers in the past.
In short this is a high quality printer at a low running cost. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is I don’t like feeding the paper from the back and not a paper tray which I’m used to, but it’s only a minor niggle with a printer which I’m sure will be well worth the investment and provide me with low running costs for years to come.
Excellent purchase. Easy to set up first adding the ink and cartridges. Ink levels for all colours can also be easily seen from the front. Followed by an intuitive app that takes you through each step to completion. Even ensuring test prints are done and scanned for alignment. Once done and onto the normal everyday use. I have downloaded and printed a pdf with ease and speed for a high quality document. Scanned an old photo and printed that. Followed by a couple of postage labels for my online sales. This printer is going to get frequent use and all indications are that it will do all.that is required to a high standard.
I would say, the printer does what it needs to do – it prints paper. It scans. It does have some innovative features, being that it can be easily topped up, the printer setup is quick and the printer also looks nice – well designed and slick. However, there are some limitations – the printer is much noisier than I was expecting. Secondly, the printer is slow – it doesn’t go through pages quickly. I was also expecting the product to connect to the Internet quicker- it takes a few minutes rather than seconds in equivalent printers. The app is clunky and putting in the print head cartridges is fidgety.
This Ink Tank printer looks good and print quality and speed are excellent . Set up and installing print heads and ink are very easy so no problems at all .
I am disappointed though that there is no duplex and the output tray does not automatically come out so you have to leave it sticking out all the time .
Also there is no separate paper feed for photo paper unlike my previous HP machine .
Overall is good but could be better .
This printer was very easy to set up and connect to my WiFi, however that afternoon a broadband engineer came and changed the name of my WiFi so I had to reconnect everything. All my devices reconnected easily except the printer, it took me a day to sort it out and there’s no help in the manual. Once connected it prints very well, albeit quite slowly. The software cancelled my printing a couple of times but it was easy enough to continue. Overall it’s much better than my old one and the colour printing is exceptional so I’m very pleased with it.
First impressions of the printer are great – this is going to be a big cost saving over traditional print cartridges whilst being better for the environment Unboxing and setting up the printer was easy. I installed the HP smart app on my computer and it guided through the necessary steps – removing packaging cardboard, filling ink and installing print heads. Only slight issue – after set up – the printer had a very quiet beep, which I struggled to make stop. A quick google, which suggested a firmware update solved this – it was also easy to do via the HP smart app. Print quality was superb – text was crisper than on my previous printer. Photo printing was good albeit very slow. The printer is a good looking unit, very easy to print wirelessly and delivers great results, while being good for the environment and saving money – what’s not to like.
The printer was bigger than expected, but that was no problem. The print quality, particularly the colour is fantastic. Once I managed to sort out the HP Smart software, I have been scanning and printing effortlessly. I also use this to print from my phone. As I’m a cautious person, I bought a complete spare set of ink. One of the colours was hard to find but I did get them all for less than the cost of 2 of my old cartridges and it seems like a lot of ink. I can’t comment on how long the ink will last at this point, but it is cheap enough and this feel like a much more eco friendly way to replace ink. All in all, I’m very happy with the printer and excited to see how long the ink lasts.
The printer arrived well packed with all accessories and ink needed. There is an instruction booklet in the box with clear pictures. The printer’s size is just right for a desk and the hardware was easy to set up. I used the HP Smart online instructions (on a PC) and it worked fine. Loading the ink was easy and whoever came up with the ink bottles design with the internal little device is very clever. No spill at all. Fitting the printer heads was a little fiddlier but I managed at the end. However, the printer is a bit noisy and often clean the heads (especially every time you start printing). This must use quite a bit of ink. The printing quality is very good. Iif the ink bottles last for the 6000 pages promised, the ink price seems good value and it saves a lot of hassle. I don’t think you can follow how many pages you have printed though which is a shame as you cannot check the 6000 pages statement. I like the fact that the three colours are separate (rather than a tri-colour cartridge), more economical. I print a lot and after printing already around 100-150 pages, I had no issue. One gripe, this printer does not print double sided automatically, you have to reload the page yourself. Ok for one or two pages but unpractical for a whole document. I am using this printer alongside another HP printer (on instant Ink and with HP Smart) and I was worried I may end up with a conflict. However, I had no problem setting the new printer in the app. and both printers are now working fine. In conclusion, I am happy with this new printer and the large ink bottles are perfect for my usage.
The printer came in a well packaged box. Although it came with an eighty-six pages of instruction booklet (six pages of 14 different languages), the installation was relatively straightforward. It took less than 10 minutes to set up the ink tanks and the connection, especially with the extremely helpful app graphic prompts.
The size of the printer is relatively big compared to those I used previously (44 x 16 x 36 cm). As the paper feeds vertically, the height would be around 45 cm with paper instead of 36cm. Therefore, one would need to put this in a tabletop or cabinet top with enough height (rather than putting in a cabinet).
There are 8 buttons (including the power button) for basic functions. Hence, most of the set up would need to be controlled from the App. Some other HP printers have a touch screen which would allow one to have more local control.
The print quality is generally good! Not too noisy and reasonable speed. Very subtle difference noted between the HP Smart Tank Plus and HP Office Jet Pro quality of photo printing. (The HP Office Jet Pro is slightly richer in colour). The printer does not turn the page so one has to re-fit the paper for double sided printing when prompt on screen.
The scanning function needs to be controlled from the App remotely. The high resolution scanning did take slightly longer than one expected, but the quality was good.
The absolute attractive point of this printer is of course the ink capacity. Difficult to confirm this on the testimonial now but one would hope to make some substantial savings on ink and does not need the HP Instant Ink subscription.
Overall, a lovely versatile printer suits very well for a family from day to day printing, photos, and scanning.
Overall, this printer is very good! The print quality is great, the print speed is fine and once setup has been completed, it’s almost effortless to use. I’m also a big fan of the new ink storage and refilling system – it’s nice to be able to see exactly how much ink is left and which colours are running low. Supposedly, you can get 3 years worth of printing out of the first set of bottles. It certainly makes a nice change from the old cartridge model, where you simply had to trust that the ink had actually run out. The physical setup process is well explained with pictures to guide you throughout. That said, there is one minor drawback. You have to download yet another app and create yet another account to set this printer up – it’s not exactly plug-and-play. This app has to be downloaded onto any device that you want to use the printer with, and frustratingly it will regularly forget your details on the phone app. It’s not poorly designed, unless you want to do something like change the language on it – say, for example, because it loaded in a language that you didn’t expect, as in my case, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to change it. All that said, I believe the pros to this printer far outweigh this drawback and I can comfortably recommend it to anyone who has a little time free to complete the setup process.
The first thing I liked about this printer is when I unwrapped it, there was a bag with handle, so you could use lift it out without any effort. I used the HP Smart app to set up my printer to the manual is also really good guide on how to do it. I was nervous about filling the ink into the tanks, as I have a beige carpet directly underneath, but was happy that there was no drips or leaks at all. It’s bigger than my last printer, but still fits well where the my old printer was as there was a back paper loader on my old one as well Upon set up, I printed off a couple of pages, and I’m really happy with the quality both in black and in colour.
The new printer is up and running and I am very impressed. The online app guided me through the setup really well it was super easy. The filling of the ink tanks was so smooth and not in the slightest messy like I had feared. The Wi-Fi connection to the printer was also totally hassle free. Now my printer is in place it is also not as bulky as the very old HP model it has replaced. I have printed off both the alignment and test page, they are great quality. This printer is going to be a cost effective solution for me. The old cartridges I needed to purchase were very expensive. I have looked at the prices of the ink bottles and know this will be a cheaper option. I am looking forward to using the printer more in the future.
So far amazing! Packing was easy and simple to unpack and not overly packed. The set up was easy to understand and quick to do. Filling with ink was new for me as I’ve not tried fluid before but actually was simple and not messy at all. The app was installed and was printing within minutes. I have used a few options on the printer so far,the copy and direct print all were effective and efficient. I am looking forward to see how the ink levels change/last as it came with 3 years worth so seeing if that is comparable will be interesting.
The printer arrived in what I thought was a great idea, Inclosed with a pull tab to easily get the printer out secure and safe. I also like how you can fill up the ink with the bottle of coloured ink really easy to use and no mess, much better for the economy. The printer it’s self was a bit fiddly to work out the app and download certain apps but after having everything in place was up and ready to use in no time. My daughter has been requesting lots of therapy art printable courtesy of hp app which is free. The printer always boasts three year ink provided I hope that is the case, think it would depend on how much coloured pictures you print. It is on the big side but it is a smart looking piece of kit and has had plenty use so far with no issues. I like the fact it has bluetooth connectio and can use my phone to print of anything I want. Photos even look like photos with this printer it really has a keen eye for detail. Printing doesn’t seem to be too quick but that isn’t an issue for us. Needs a study surface area because it does like to rock about when setting up and printing which the kids find really funny! Really great printer and perfect with three years worth of ink, also tells you when your running low on a coloured ink which is pretty cool feature. As pictured a printable art which took my 9 year old a couple of silent hours to colour in, thank me later !
From the minute I opened the box I was impressed with this printer. The ease of lifting it out, the neat way everything was packaged and the general look of the machine itself was a delight. The instructions were easy to follow. Now came the part I’d been dreadingfilling up the ink tanks. Would I end up getting it everywhere?? No, happily this was an extremely easy operation and not one drop was spilled or wasted. The bottles click securely onto the tank and empty in to it. Once the tank is full, you take them off with no spillage at all. I’m actually a bit disappointed that I’ll have to wait so long to do that part again. Once it was filled, the printer heads clicked into place and connected to the wifi I could get on with printing and what an effortless process that was! First of all you print and scan a test page to calibrate the printer and then you’re good to go. Simply open the app on my phone, select my photo, resize as required on the preview page and print! Quiet, quick and great quality. I did have an issue when my wifi went down and I couldn’t get the printer to connect but HP support were an amazing help and talked me through how to fix it over messenger. I did require a laptop and a usb cable which I had but I’m unsure of what would have happened had I only had my smartphone. Overall I am super impressed with the HP Smart Tank. From photos, documents, printing and scanning it handles it all with ease. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone (and already have to friends and family) as it’s a great all rounder and the support team is phenomenal should there ever be any issues.
I was looking for a printer where refills would not be expensive or tied into a plan. I am interested in reducing waste so unnecessary cartridges sold me on this model. Filling the printer with the ink is very easy. Twist of the cap, lift the lid to the ink compartment and the ink automatically fills. Setting up the printer is a little tricky. Even with the printer right next to the router the wifi connection drops a lot. Printing is quite slow to what I am used to. The paper capacity is also more limited. I believe around 50 sheets of A4 may fit into the top loading printer at any given time. I have printed out documents and photos so far. On the app there doesn’t seem to be an option to specify your own size of paper, and is limited to a few generic sizes. Photos come out lovely if I am honest. No streaking or colour blur. Even on draft photo prints are perfectly passable. I would recommend this printer to those keen on reducing printing costs, and those mindful of the environment. I wouldn’t recommend it it those not technically minded as there is very little guidance should you get stuck setting up the printer or when it gets stuck in a loading loop. There is one niggle and this is there is a beeping noise that is very quite when the printer is switch on. I am happy with my purchase and personally would recommend to friends
Visually, the printer makes a good impression, it is lightweight and does not take up as much space on the desk. I also find the ink tank very well solved, in contrast to other printers with one, it is integrated into the device, so you don’t have an additional construct with sloshing ink in it. And most importantly, you can see the ink level when you look at the printer from the front. Because I already had that you only saw it sideways, when the printer is in a corner, you always have to move it around. I found setting up the printer pretty easy for the most part, as I already have an HP account, it was pretty quick. I was guided through the installation step by step in the app. However, I didn’t find some things quite as successful and I don’t like the small display on the printer. I was once again positively surprised by the print quality, as mentioned above, it is not my first experience with a printer with an ink tank, I’ve even used two before, a color printer and a black and white printer. Both printers had in common that the print image was not as accurate and that the print seemed too watery to me. And it only got worse the longer you used it. Now, of course, I can’t say anything about long-term experience with this printer, but I’m generally impressed by the print quality at the moment. The rear paper drawer has advantages and disadvantages: you can always see how much paper is currently inserted, but the paper is not as protected as in an internal paper cassette. The app allows you to print very well from your smartphone. I also had no problems with the WiFi. I really like the fact that the ink bottles are affordable when bought again. Overall, I’m happy with the multifunction printer.
Found this printer so easy to set up. Clear and obvious instructions to add ink. All very clear colour codes and directions. Used the app on my phone and have been printing photos and documents straight from my phone as well as my laptop. Able to print paper and card easily. I love that it’s wireless and I can set the printer up in the office and not need to connect every time I want to print! The print quality really surprised me, really clear and bold colours. The scan and copy functions are really easy to use and uploaded straight to my phone! I’ve found this printer to be a fantastic addition to my household!
The printer was easy to setup. I was particularly impressed with the way one has to fill the ink tanks using the bottles of ink. I was expecting it to be a messy job, but in the end did not spill a drop of ink. The Smart Print app was easy to install initially on my iPhone followed by my iPad and a Windows 11 PC. Printing a page of A4 text was quick with a nice result. My main effort has been in printing 4×6 inch photos from my iPad. The photos printed on the Photo Paper are excellent. I also like the way the Smart Print app on my iPad also lets me access and print photos from Google Photos.
It’s on a bit bigger side of the table footprint, but it is also a A4 scanner so size wise it is ok for what it is. Very easy to set up and in few minutes it is ready to go. Ink tanks are another good think, no more worrying about an empty cartridge when printing is needed. Ink bottles are also affordable, around 20 so if they are going to last longer than standard cartridges it is another plus for the printer itself from affordability side. Personally I think that print quality is superb, not the fastest but this is not a laser printer. Scanner works fine as well and because it is wireless printer PC is not required, again very easy to connect to a mobile phone and printing can be done straight from it. Filling the tanks with ink is very easy and mess free, no leakage, just press and wait for bottle to be emptied. Hopefully inks will last as promised up to 3 years, but even if not this won’t be anybody’s concern due to affordability of spare bottles. Overall I am well impressed and happy for the product.
I was impressed with how easy it was to set this printer up. Following the app instructions was straightforward and the whole process took only 15 minutes. It is a nice compact size and print quality seems good. I had never used bottles of ink before, and I was concerned that this was going to be messy, but found there was no mess at all and it was easy to fill the printer without any problems. There was no issue at all with it picking up the wifi which I was relieved about and most importantly the use of the printer is straightforward and easy to understand. If there is one negative, it is the speed. Its not the fastest printer by any means, but as someone using it for home printing a few sheets at a time, this is not a concern for me.
