I got for my parner. She loves it never takes it off. It tracks sleep quality, activity, stress levels., ecc… Looks lovely and does the job and battery last as described
As many reviews have said real problems with the app and getting it to connect to the watch, once it does connect it doesn’t stay connected, so not saving anything and losing many of the functions. Otherwise i really like it.
Although the wife is not a fan of technology she has really taken to this watch and looks forward to recording 10,000 steps when out with the dog. Smart for everyday wear and easily recharged with the magnetic charging cable.
I’m writing this 17 months after purchasing.
To be fair I expected a years use from it as best BUT it’s still working great, I’ve worn it in swimming pools, the shower etc and it’s fine.
Does everything stated in the advert.
Very happy and beyond my expectations.
Does the job for a smart watch. Nothing fancy but for the price paid I have no complains.
Purchased for ~30, the value proposition of this watch is immense. I’ve been using it near daily for over 6 months now, and it still holds a charge as good as new. During workouts, the heart rate tracking is accurate and within error when compared to the tracking on gym machines and a heart rate monitor strap.
The watch is comfortable and is very easy to get used to for daily wear. As for the sleep tracking, I have no other reference but it seems to be accurate at detecting when I fall asleep. However, any comment on the accuracy of the sleep ‘stage’ tracking would be purely speculative on my part.
The companion app is very user-friendly and offers a multitude of features for organising your health data/workout logs.
Overall, I highly recommend this watch to anyone wanting to track their workouts on a budget.
I use this product mainly for the time, date, battery life, heart rate.
I am very pleased with this product.
Lightweight with a very good display and fairly accurate, except for the heart rate monitor which is not as accurate as an old Band Pro. The App is also good, but has to be downloaded from the Huwaei App store.
Great fitness tracker.
Pros:
Easy to use.
Steps, heart rate, swimming ect accurate.
Love the graph representation.
Lovely screen and I can finally see it in the sunlight.
You can use a custom photo as your watch face.
Cons:
Its very grumpy with the syncing to the app. Needs an update to sort that out.
Steps on the watch doesn’t represent the steps in the app. Which is a bit odd.
Sedentary alarm doesn’t always work.
A bit big for my wrist..
Notification buzzer isn’t very strong.
All in all I’m very pleased with it despite its flaws.
The smartwatch is fine, good value for the money. Works well and has good battery life. The only issue is due to the restrictions on Huawei, the app isn’t available in the Play store or apple store, you have to download an app file and it means it doesn’t link with any of the other help apps. Not too much of a problem for me but something to be aware of if that is something you need
I delayed writing this review so as to use the watch before giving my opinion .
I have used other fitness watches before this, my only prob with this watch is the battery life, i use this watch 6days a week and the battery last exactly one week, other ones i have used last as long as one month or more before going down. Apart from the battery life issue the watch is a fantastic.
Comfortable on the wrist with very good battery life. Connected via iPhone and things like BBC, emails and other notification services come through well.
For the cost, this is a good timepiece and satisfies all my requirements. I tend to wear two watches all the time, one on each wrist and find the readings on this for heart rate and sleep patterns are similar to other brands of watches I wear. Use this one for work as it is not too expensive to replace if it gets damaged in the work environment. (Brought at a lower price in Prime sale)
A good value product bought to help me track my poor sleep, but it doesn’t give as detailed information as I’d like and also seems rather inaccurate at times, not recording my waking up or disturbed sleep patterns and also won’t allow me to set my normal sleep time of 5hours from going to bed and getting up.
larger face to the pro band 4 which is great for checking out information on your watch. The battery life appears to be pretty good compared to other smart watches(1 week plus with heart monitor on constantly).
The individual charger I’m not a huge fan of this but it’s still manageable due to the good battery life. Although with the band 4 you can just take the strap off and plug it into a USB port(very handy).
The watch is comfortable, the strap doesn’t fall off easily, I’ve used it in the sea and all was good.
The SPO2 function when compared to a finger device appears to be very similar reading (obviously I can’t confirm it’s accuracy due to not having a calibrated medical device).
The face gallery setting is rather nice, you can load more than one picture and you simple tap it to change it to the next one( it’s simple and easy to add/remove/edit them).
Overall good value for money, I’d recommend.
I’ve had this for 4 days now and am delighted so far.
The heart monitor on my fitbit versa 2 stopped working in October after 18 months (which I’ve since found out they do when you do an update, so you need a new one!)
I bought a cheap, unknown brand watch to replace but couldn’t get the app to work or the phone to sync (amazing reviews on amazon, rubbish reviews on the app store so worth checking both when you buy). I returned and then saw this as a prime deal for 28 and had heard of Huawei. (If you’re paranoid that the Chinese government are going to track your heart rate or your WhatsApps between you and your partner about what you’re having for tea then maybe its not for you, I personally don’t believe they do hence buying it!)
The app was easy to download. I set up an email address and added my phone number, presumably so they can pull through texts and calls to the watch.
The phone offers so much more than my fit bit did inc; stress levels, blood oxygen monitoring and the sleep monitoring is better than that on the fitbit.
I have a St John Ambulance heart and blood oxygen monitor and have measured a few times whilst wearing the watch to check the accuracy and both the watch and monitor were aligned every time.
The stress test does seem a bit gimmicky but having had a very stressful hour, it accurately picked up on this which is impressive.
There are numerous faces that you can choose from and what is also helpful is by clicking on an area on the watch face, it takes you to that section. Ie. If I click on the heart rate, it takes me to the heart monitor which is really good for a cheap watch!
Its got breathing exercises and a really good torch too. The find my phone option is great and the vibrations for alerts and alarms are strong and can be changed.
You can also control your music.
There’s exercise tracking/workout records and a function that reminds you to get up and move every hour.
The app seems very detailed and elaborates on all of the infi/functions on the watch ie. The watch will tell us how long you were asleep/napping for, the app goes in to loads of detail and shows when you were in REM/awake/light sleep etc and sleep quality.
4 days in so it’s still early days for me but so far so good. Very impressed and would never spend 200 on a fancy brand watch again when I can get so much more for 28 quid!
I purchased this as I can’t find my old tracker. Out of the box: good quality, lovely size, plenty of adjustment on the strap, beautiful changeable display. Came already charged to 75% so I could play straight away. Straightforward download of app onto android phone, paired up and ready to go. Yes you do have to give it permission for everything if you want full functionality, not a problem. Love the magnetic charger which was the criticism I had if my previous watch. No yanking the strap out to charge. Time will tell, but for now it’s a 10 out of 10 from me! If I’d have bought it after Prime day I the price for other colours dropped to 27 which is what I paid for it. Quite like the pink though! 🙂
Over all it is a good watch.
Advantages based on use with iPhone 13 pro max:
1 – Long Battery Life up to 14 days depends on the personal usage, for me it always last 10 days or more
2 – Light weight
3 – Heartrate, Blood oxygen saturation rate and stress rate
4 – Cheap watch compared to other brands
5 – easy to use and wide range of apps and sport application
6 – You can receive notification and messages from the phone
disadvantages:
1 – it has no GPS so it needs to be always connected to the phone to get accurate GPS data which force you to keep your phone GPS on that causes charge consumption. although the watch is able to count your steps without being connected to the phone.
2 – Detecting exercise type is a bit slow. for example if you walk fast it takes 5-10 minutes or sometimes much more to detect the exercise. with running is faster to detect it. my experience is I pick the exercise in advance when I run to make sure it counts the time and steps/distance accurately.
3 – the Huawei health app doesn’t synchronize automatically with the watch if you don’t have data activated on your phone. if your data is off, you have to sync manually to update data on the phone from the watch.
I made it after 5 month usage. I hope you find this review useful
I bought this as a replacement to my fitbit and love it. It pairs well with my Samsung mobile and once all the updates deployed all functionality now work.
I don’t like large watches so the size of this is great.
I wear it all day and all night to track sleep and it is very comfortable.
I track my activity which is accurate. The only issue I have is the watch doesn’t not track outdoor cycling. The app does but I don’t always want to have my mobile active whilst riding.
This thing is so awesome! Here’s why:
– it’s cheap – I got it on offer for around 36.
– comfortable to wear day and night
– battery lasts 1 week (take that apple watch)
– it doesn’t try to do anything you can already do on your phone – just sticks to the stuff you can only do with a combination of phone and watch.
So you can’t take calls on it or has it’s own GPS, or write texts or talk to Siri because you can already do that on you expensive phone. But it does show notifications, counts steps, constant heart rate monitoring, O2 saturation levels and all the workout tracking you need. It even knows how well you sleep. Very nice and intuitive display with lots of watch faces. It even turns into a torch when you’re alone in the dark.
I love this, it is great value. I do have a huawei phone so I can’t comment on how it works with a different phone brand. I mainly use it to log my daily steps and sleep. Every morning I get a report with the details of the total hours sleep, deep, light and REM and sleep quality. It also monitors blood oxygen, logs exercise, heart rate and stress levels . The only thing to be aware of is that if you are pushing a pram/pushchair it doesn’t pick up the steps as it appears to use arm movement. I don’t mind this as the watch was good value for money, I just chuck it in my pocket when I take my pushchair out and it then picks the steps up fine. Great value for money. I use it for loads, timer, alarm, there’s a neat little torch too.
I bought the Huawei Band 6, based on good Amazon reviews, to replace a cheaper fitness tracker I’d had for a few years but which had broken. It seemed value for money primarily because it was discounted significantly. That has generally proved to be the case and it has added functions to my previous watch. There are however two aspects I don’t like: it seems difficult if not impossible to activate the watch face by turning your wrist (not so good during the night or when driving) and the clips that secure the strap are really difficult to fit back when changing the strap. Overall, I wouldn’t give the watch more than 4 Stars.
I’ve been using this watch for about month now and I think it’s great. The watch itself looks nice and has held up well to wearing 24/7, which surprised me as it is all plastic. The screen is bright and sharp, the menus simple and intuitive to use and the customisable backgrounds are pretty varied and update instantly. The phone app works really rather well and gives more detail than the watch, as well as the ability to track details for periods up to years. The app can also work with other Huawei products like scales apparently.
My only gripe about it is the watch and app sometimes lose connection with each other and don’t reconnect properly, so you have to trigger the connection from the app so the app updates data from the watch. I usually find this happens if they exceed the Bluetooth range of each other.
Physically, the watch is very comfortable, although I find it sometimes doesn’t play well with elasticated sleeves, so would benefit from being thinner. It also needs to be on quite tight, so this can require adjusting if you get hot, and it can rub on your wrist bone of too loose. The band itself has loads of adjustment holes and the clever strap end holder loop locks into the strap end, preventing it from moving, which is a fine bit of design. The charger is very nice: magnetically attaching and the watch battery lasts for ages, probably a week or more even with all day use. I charge it about once every 2 days.
I find the step count to be very accurate and the phone app also tracks your steps even if you aren’t wearing the watch it seems! The sleep tracking is the stand-out feature for me. It is so so accurate in terms of when I am asleep or awake. The sleep app even gets a bit naggy if you’ve been going to bed too late, a bit like a tiny digital mum on your wrist… My favourite little bit of design is a ‘lift to activate’ algorithm that switches on the watch screen when you lift it up to look at it, so you don’t have to manually activate the screen. Nice.
Overall, I was skeptical but very impressed. It won me over within minutes of using it, as the user experience is so good – far better than I expected for the price. Far better. My wife has a Fitbit that was more than twice the price, and this has more features, a colour screen, notifications and customisable watch faces. If you can get over the slightly itchy feeling of this being a Huawei product, then the watch speaks for itself. It is a quality product and great value.
The Huawei app is quite good but is very limited in what devices and services it will connect to, Huawei stuff only.
Pool swimming it counts extra lengths if you change stroke during the length and sometimes as you turn it thinks you’ve done a length in less than 4 seconds and then done another length. It’s easy to get big numbers but it’s inconsistent. Don’t move your arms – no lengths.
There have been reports, and I’ve seen one, of it getting stuck in a boot loop and becoming unusable.
The device itself seems to work well & does what it’s meant to. Watch face is a decent size. Battery lasts 4-7days depending how often you mess around with it. I almost never touch the device except to look at the time & check battery level – it’s pointless messing around with it to read messages or stop/start music, you’re quicker just using your phone to do that (unless for some reason you can’t pick up your phone).
The worst aspect of this tracker is the strap – it’s made of quite a stiff (but tough) rubbery plastic. Presumably it’s designed to last & not split, crack or snap, which, so far (6months), it seems to do. But it’s the nasty little loop around the strap that you tuck the end of the strap into, that presses & cuts into your skin – it’s just poorly designed for comfort & even has a little ‘lug’ or ‘tab’ which stops it moving up/down the length of the strap & actually just serves to make the loop more uncomfortable against your skin. The hinge on the strap buckle is also uncomfortable.
The Huawei app that you have to use with this device is WAY over bloated (which they’ve had to do because of the US/Google ban on Huawei). It has some decent features such as heart rate charts & exercise maps. But the ‘elephant in the room’ is that you can NOT sync data to GoogleFit, Samsung Health or FitBit (only Adidas or Kamoot work). However, you can purchase 3rd party ‘Health Sync’ App’ in the PlayStore which can act as an intermediary sync between Huawei & other health apps (it works well but isn’t free except as a short trial).
The Huawei app needs more customisation features – for example, it’s an annoying American accent on the voice telling you how far you’ve walked & you cant change the details that the voice tells you (eg. current heart rate etc). It does not use your phone’s standard Google Speech voice (because Huawei isn’t allowed to).
I’ve owned a number of FitBit charge devices for the last 4 years, all of which have had hardware failures (typically about 12-18 months after purchase). Having got fed up of reliability issues I decided to try a Band 6.
I’ve now owned it for about a month and its mostly good – but a bit of a mixed bag. The step counting is consistent, the screen is great (as is the range of displays), battery life is excellent and I find it comfy to wear. Bluetooth connectivity is much more reliable than my fitbit – but does still need resetting.
Whats less good is:
a) I find the charging cable very fiddly – it needs to be set at just the right angle for it to charge. Not a massive problem but annoying.
b) a much bigger issue for me is the accompanying app doesnt update via the google play store – I had to allow updating from a Huawei specific app store to get the latest version and enable SpO2 monitoring… I really dont like this from a security perspective.
c) the auto-detect for exercise seems much less effective than fitbits – again for me this is really just a minor annoyance, but worth knowing.
d) Sleep tracking is almost as good as the fitbit, but seems a bit less inclined to track awake times – but I always found fitbit to be a overly optomistic with its stats on that anyway.
So overall, as a watch with step and sleep tracking its pretty good – certainly at a price point of roughly 30-40% of a fitbit I’m very happy. I’d have given 5 stars if the app updated via google play.
Amazing value for the price. As the Huawei Health app came ready installed on my phone, I thought I’d give this watch a try. I’m impressed that I get a detailed sleep analysis, my O2 levels monitored, step count, and notification for texts, emails, and WhatsApp. I can remotely control the phone camera, and it’s even got a torch function (not a flashlight, but good enough to find the keyhole in the dark) .
There’s also a stopwatch and timer, weather notification, heart rate, and I can control my music on the phone (pause and restart) from the watch. And a phone finder function (very handy as my phone is often on silent).
It does, apparently, track your activity, but as I’m not fit or sporty I haven’t explored this function.
For thirty-something pounds this Huawei Band 6 seems as good as *it*it brand leader costing five times more. I hesitated to buy it only because the default watch-face shown in the advertising does not inspire, even gives the impression it may be a monochrome display. But hey, there are scores of full-colour faces to pick from, and photo on my wrist shows my current favourite with analogue face including second sweep. The other pics show the Health app on my Android smartphone.
For me, the stand-out features are:-
* Amazingly comfortable strap, and device so light you are not aware of it.
* Lovely display, crisp colours, indeed a lot sharper than my pic shows!
* Bluetooth pairing with app on Android just fine. Once paired, the device watch (date, time) is synchronised with the smartphone.
* Huge selection of watch-faces to pick from, and once down-loaded you can switch them around on the device itself.
* Neat magnetic charge lead coupling. However, I’ve only had to use it once in the two weeks I’ve had it and as I type this, it shows 83% so it will be another week or so until I next charge it. Simply amazing, the advertising does not exaggerate the battery life.
* Constant monitor of heart rate, and the app keeps history over days/weeks/months…
* If I sit too long, device gives a gentle vibrate to remind me I need to move about. (You can disable this, but i’m happy with it as is.)
* Most of the watch-faces also show weather temperature. How neat is that?
I’ve not tested it in shower or pool, and don’t yet use the sleep pattern function. I have tested the blood oxygen function, works just fine. (Unlike heart rate, blood oxygen is not recorded continously, but the app retains and reading you make)
The step counter works just fine and quite accurately, and most of the watch-faces show todays count, as well as calorie burn and heart rate.
The display is normally off, i.e. shows black face, until summoned. The action of turning your wrist to look at the band activates the watch-face for 5 seconds. When activated, the display reacts to “swipes” in four directions, e.g. to see more weather details, heart rate today, etc.
I suspect that the device measures heart rate (BPM) a little on the high side, comparing it with finger-tip oximeter or other medical-grade device. But I’m happy to overlook that, the import thing is to observe changes and trends. That explains why I only rate 4 stars for accuracy.
Overall: Great value. Ticks all my boxes – comfort, ease of use, long time between charges, huge range of watch-faces to pick from.
Not had time to access the accuracy but it seems good. For a mid range tracker it works well, looks good and it’s a good price. App works well too. May order one for myself. Really pleased.
I ordered a second for myself and partner. Heart rate tends to be a bit hit and miss and I think the steps are within 10% which is very acceptable for day to day comparison. You could spend hundreds on a more accurate tracker but the difference would not make any difference. Its a good looking device and no complaints.
I purchased this as I had lost my old model of the HUAWEI fitness tracker. I needed a replacement as I needed to track my activity to ensure I was doing a certain level because I have fibromyalgia. It helps me track my sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen levels and steps as well as receive notifications from my phone if I choose to. It also enables me to see and control if I’m doing too much activity or too little which is a fine balance with fibromyalgia.
It literally looks like a slightly narrower version of the Apple Watch! Screen display is of excellent quality. It definitely looks more expensive than it is and works/operates way more expensive than it is!
You have to download the HUAWEI fitness app where you can keep track of all the data you have generated and you can go back and view what your heart rate, steps, stress levels, sleep quality, oxygen levels were throughout the day and it gives you an insight on how you can increase the quality of your life and health just by seeing your stats.
Oh and battery life is amazing even though I have heart rate, oxygen and stress test on, recording constantly!
Charging is very different to earlier models. Earlier models you had to ‘clip’ onto the charger but this one is magnetic and magnetically attaches to the charge ports. There’s no way you can get it the wrong way round as the magnet won’t connect.
However, you only get the charging cable and no plug but I have an extension tower with Loads of USB ports so it hasn’t been a problem for me.
After using this watch for over a month now, before submitting this review, I would definitely and absolutely recommend this watch to anyone considering buying it. I’m really happy with it and have had absolutely no problems. Go for it!
Update: Months on from purchase – no problems at all. It is still very much part of my daily life and battery life is excellent.
I have an Apple iPhone and downloading the HUAWEI app from the APP Store and using it was easy with no problems at all. When you open the app, flick down to update. If you haven’t open the HUAWEI Health app for a while, you need to wait until everything is downloaded thus the app updated with your data. If you access the app every day, you won’t wait long for it to update the data accumulated from your watch.
I have read people having problems on Android, Google App Store. I can’t comment. However I have had absolutely no problems on my apple iPhone nor have I had any problems with my watch, months and months down the line. I’m still really happy with my watch. I would highly recommend buying it!
I bought this as part of a “Special deal”/”Truck deal” sent from Amazon via text. The strap had broken on my old smart watch and couldn’t get a replacement for it, and I wanted the latest Apple Watch which will be coming out soonish. So decided to take a punt at this, for 35, from a well known Chinese brand, it seemed the logical choice. I can always give it me dad or something after.
Anyway things I like
1) The interface and the App work brilliantly, a little slow uploading from the watch every now and again but great all the same.
2) Very light weight and bright even in the sunshine.
3) The ability to download new faces/skin onto the app. The one I like the most is the Pride one.
4) The step count, heart rate monitor, Oxygen levels all seem pretty accurate.
5) Battery life is pretty good, even with having constant monitoring on.
Things I don’t like
1) The step count can be a little too sensitive. I have been stood at the sink washing up, or at the piano playing and it has added the step count. On one long piano session (this is not a euphemism) I had clocked up nearly 1000 extra steps.
2) Although you can download new skins/faces you can’t design your own, or at least haven’t found a function to allow it. Even if all it was was to put a photo in the background.
For the price this was easily better than my last smart watch, and does make me think twice about getting the new Apple Watch when it comes out soonish. But I am an Apple whore and will continue to be.
Anyway have a good day, and thanks for reading.
