IMT Tool Kit for Tiles, Tile Installation Tool Sets Tile Cutter, Pliers
How to Use
- Thoroughly clean the glass/tiles you intent to cut. Lay the it on a clean, flat, layered surface. Measure and mark the glass where you wish to cut.
- Add some oil into the handle or dip the head in the oil, which make the cutting head more fluent when cutting.
- Hold cutter firmly, maintain the same pressure through out the score. You can also use a ruler to score the line. Don’t go back for a second stroke: score it only once in a smooth, even motio
- Position the glass pliers and ensure the middle of the white foot pads aligns with the scored line;
- Slowly tighten the upper crank until the tiles or glass break into two pieces.
- Always wear clear safety glasses and protective gloves while cutting.

This is a great item for those just learning the art of bottle cutting.
The instructions are *very* lacking but easily found online.
It takes a minute to get the hang of it, but once you do it is pretty easy.
Definately worth the price.
I was skeptical, after reading some of the reviews that mentioned it was not useful.
I found it to be a very useful tool for my 1 inch glass mosaic tile. The trick to getting in at the right angle to cut the tile correctly on the inside tiles is to cut the mesh netting on the sheet 1 inch in below the tile you need to cut in half. See included pic.
It worked like a charm for me.
Came with two cutting wheels, selected the wheel for thicker glass, and scribed the thick Georgian wire glass with ease.
Tapped the reverse side using the handle to complete the cut and vola a perfect cut.
Ordered for a friend who sculpts glass. I watched her use this and she was very impressed with it. The glass cut first time and broke apart when gently knocked. A bit tricky getting the oil flow right but it comes with practice.
Good basic cutter but you’ll need oil use it so order at same time . Sewing machine oil is perfect as it’s just a small bottle or 3in1 not wD40
Happy glass cutting
Well I’m not a professional glass cutter but using this tool makes me look good. Cut some glass at an angle for the greenhouse and it worked perfectly. It’s not a tool I would use a lot but I’m now confident this works. I would recommend this tool.
Once I had got to grips with the oil flow which was fairly simple if you follow the instructions, I found this cutter to be really good. Easy to hold and use and cuts glass well.
I recently purchased an old home that has a substantial amount of old / wavey glass. While the majority of the panes are in good shape, there are some that are cracked and broken and there are also some places in the home where the glass is new and it looks out of place.
I priced-out purchasing 8 panes of reproduction glass that is 9×13″ and it came to $250 which isn’t an enormous expense but I read in an article about a woman who restores antique window frames and it said in the article that while reproduction glass is available, she is always on the lookout for old wavey glass that she has cut to size.
I was recently at an antique store and got my hands on some old window frames with glass for about $20 a pop. The glass was big enough to cut down to the 9×13 that I needed. What a nightmare it was taking the frames apart to get the glass…some was broken. I still have more frames to take apart…but I figured I would try my hand at cutting the glass to size.
Tool came yesterday, I took a piece of glass I had already broken and tested the tool on it and…much easier than I expected. I added glass cutting oil to the tool, opened up the valve, dragged the scoring tool across the glass and put the glass over the edge of a table and just applied a tiny but of pressure and the glass separated. Cool stuff.
I got this tool, filled it with oil, and proceeded to cut 1/8 in. glass. I pressed very lightly on my first few attempts, and the glass did not cleave when I tapped on it. I finally pushed down firmly when drawing my cut, and the glass cleaved cleanly. I then cut subsequent pieces easily. Bottom line: be prepared to experiment a bit to get a feel for using the too.
I used to hate cutting glass for picture frames, but this cutter is a joy to use. Very easy to learn and consistent results. Don’t buy those cheap steel wheel cutters and just go with this from the start to save you a lot of frustration. Listen for that ripping sound to know you’re putting the right pressure on the glass.
