I bought this mini chainsaw to cut off decking support posts at a particular height when installing replacment decking and joists. This saw cut through them no problem. Only issue I had was when I was looking for a new chain as they are not available at the size required for this saw as the chain on this saw is slightly smaller than other chains. I contacted INGCO customer services through Amazon and had a great response with a replacement sent out. Many thanks INGCO.
I also found out that other mini chainsaw chain will fit if you file the slot in the chain guide a bit deeper and also elongate the hole in the guide for the tensioner. I bought a couple of other mini chain saw chains and also a spare guide bar which I modified rather than file the Ingco one, and all standard chains now fit a treat.
Replacement chains are 1/4″ pitch 0.43″(1mm) thickness and 37 links. You’ll have to file the slot slightly deeper in the bar as the 37 link chains are slightly shorter than the one supplied with the saw (38 links) and it will work fine.
Had no issues so far with build and durability, not the highest quality materials, colour not consistent between saw and battery, bought inco cordless for battery interchangeably between implements with a compromise of price for the more expensive brands.
Purchased Oct 23. Wanted to use it for first time today (20/02/24)so made sure the batteries were charged up, already to go.nothing. Will not work. How do I send it back please? Please advise?
EDIT 20/02/24.
I need to apologise to Ingco, re my earlier complaint. There is a small power button on the chainsaw that I stupidly omitted to press. As said I’d purchased the saw last October and put it away until recently. I’d forgotten about this safety measure. It works fine. Ingco have offered a complete refund btw but there’s no problem with the chain saw. I have other Ingco tools e.g. battery hammer drill and an impact drill which are really good.
The chain did snap on the saw and I did struggle to find a replacement, However after messaging Ingco they sorted my issue out with in a matter of moments. I would Highly recommend Ingco, good product and amazing customer service.
I bought this really with not much hope of it being as described, was I wrong it is brilliant it will if time is taken easily cut branches as wide as the blade, the batteries keep up well and charge quickly. Yes I would give the saw a recommendation well worth the money
Got this chainsaw as its got automatic lube system on it to lubricant the chain as you cut the wood like a big chainsaws do you got a level so you can see when to top up its nice and light weight so you can use it easy i cut both tree wood and dry strips of waste wood for fire cuts with easy and safe good saw.
My experience with INGCO tools quality and customer service is what eventually persuaded me to go for this mini chainsaw over the competition, however….. I bought this specifically to clear an area for the construction of a fence at my mother-in-law’s house… a job I will be doing in a few weeks time. But I though it would be a good idea to fill the oil reservoir and give it a little test to ensure all was well before the return date was up. I’m pleased I did, because a week later the chainsaw had started leaking oil. Now I did expect a certain amount of leakage obviously from the cutting chain area, but not from out of the trigger.
When I saw that oil was showing around the trigger I was concerned that it wouldn’t be impossible for it to get into the motor as well. Obviously oil in the electrics wouldn’t be a good thing so I decided not to gamble and returned it.
Since then I’ve tried other brands of mini chainsaw and have discovered that they ALL leak oil to varying extents. The INGCO chainsaw was by far the best in this regard, with the least amount of oil working it’s way around the machine. The latest one I have just tried had oil literally dripping out onto the floor within a few minutes of half filling the reservoir, (The INGCO took a week before any oil showed up around the trigger, and never ‘dripped’ oil onto the floor).
Needless to say then that having tried a few mini chainsaws, I have now returned to INGCO and bought another to replace the one I returned.
The INGCO chainsaw is much better built that ALL the rest, has the best cutting power, at 11m’s per second, and if/when a chain breaks they will simply send you a replacement chain.
My one wish is that the chainsaw came with a hard case to make storage and transport easier.. or even if INGCO sold one. But that’s a relatively minor issue, the quality of the tool and the integrity of the seller are what’s important.
Have used 2 previously and had to send back but unit is good no very good happy with my purchase
I put a question up that it would not work.
Some one put a video up showing the safety button at the base of the handle which you have to switch on.
Works perfectly now my erro
This is the third mini chainsaw I have tried and it is worth paying the extra money for. The first one was cheep and cheerful and did a good job until the gearing shattered. The second one cut out every 10 seconds during a cut. This one just does the job without fuss. It is great that it comes with 2 batteries each of which seem to last about 15 minutes of non stop cutting 3-4 inch timber. It is not too heavy to wield with one hand just keep the other hand well out of the way!
I also like the safety switch which resets if the saw is left unused for a few a while.
I am looking forward to seeing what other tools are in the INGCO battery share series.
I originally bought another 6 inch chain saw from a highly rated manufacturer. When it came it was damaged and felt weak with cheap plastic. The batteries had no weight and the charger was flimsy. I returned and got a refund. Looking round I saw this model with no feedback score but it had a proper charger and just appeared better. When it arrived it felt sturdy with good quality plastic and batteries that felt like 20v batteries should. I have used it for three days now and found it to be a quality item with enough power for the type of job it was designed for. It is a proper small chain saw and so usual PPE should be worn. Not a saw to wear shorts and light gloves and operate. Safety features are good and the trigger provided controlled use. It will kickback but not as much as my larger saws. If used for the jobs it is designed for then it is a light weight efficient saw with useful battery life , about 20 mins per charge. It does not make hands ache when using.I would say it is more suited to right handed people because of the position of the safety switch to start. All in all I am pleased with my purchase and though it was worth the 30 extra over the lighter saw I first bought.
