I am quite happy with this monitor arm, I will just add a couple of points.
Cable management:
The top cable management is too flimsy (as shown in another review, when you put the cables in, it sags)
The bottom cable management has too small an opening, meaning thick cables are difficult or impossible to push in.
I think I may end up unscrewing both the cable management bits and just tie the cables to the arm.
It is a bit weird some of the other models seem to have better cable management solutions.
USB ports:
The suggested usb extension cables (rhino cables) were a bit pricey so I bought some kenable USB cables.
To get them to fit I had to cut off the strain relief plastic on the cables, and on the USB 3 cables I had to trim some of the plastic housing as well. So other makes of usb cables will fit if you are confident with taking a knife to your cables.
No doubt the best monitor arm I have ever bought. I used the clamp (not screw fix into the desk, although fixings for both methods are enclosed in the box) and the arm is sturdy with smooth hydraulic action and swivel motion. It looks good – black glossy coating and the quality clearly evident.
NOTE: The arm comes at 45 degree angle, you can move it into position as it says in the description.
NOTE 2: If monitor arm bounces back up, you need to rotate the screw where the 2 arm joins connect. Circled in red in the photo.
Pros:
+Can move the arm up and down, swivel left and right and can rotate it sideways.
+Can adjust the height.
+There is an option to screw the arm into the table or to do it without screws if you don’t want to damage your table.
+The quality is very good for the price you’re paying.
+There are holes at the base and side of the arm to put cables through, for better cable management.
Cons:
-When you adjust the height, it moves to one side, it doesn’t go up and down straight.
-Really hard to get cables out of the cable panel on the side of the monitor arm
TL;DR: Very good quality, can move the arm in any direction, can rotate it as well. However, it doesn’t go up and down straight. Overall, a very good product with minor issues.
This is a very solid product, easy to put together and attach to my desk, and the angle and height are easily adjustable. The only issue I have is that I’m quite tall (6’2″) and at the monitor arm’s highest point, the monitor is still a little too low for me, which has been causing me to subconsciously slouch and give myself a lot of neck & back pain. So I’ll need to put something between the desktop and the clamp to raise it. I’m quite surprised at this because I’ve never had this problem with any monitor stands in offices where I’ve worked, so I assumed this would offer a wide range of heights, suitable for even fairly tall people. Without that issue I’d definitely give this 5 stars.
Easy to follow instructions with all the tools are provided. I like the gas piston that allows you to adjust the mount based on the weight of the monitor so it has a big range of monitors that can be used on it. Good range of motion.
I gave 4/5 only because of how hard it is to find cables to use as extension cables. I have tried two different cables and one didn’t fit whilst the other somewhat fits but sticks out a little. It sticks out because of the plastic on the wire that strengthens it at the cable/connector joint is quite long and gets stuck between some of the metal protrusions in the mount base. It doesn’t bother me too much but does take away from the mounts otherwise good-quality looking build, someone could definitely remove the plastic around the wires if they wanted but it risks breaking the cable. It would be great if Invision could make their own cables that would fit within their own units, or find a cable that would fit and recommend it.
They recommend Rhinocables in the Q&A section if someone wanted to use those, but they are only USB 2.0, and don’t offer a USB 3.0 optio
I’ve been after a similar mount for some time and it became necessary after a monitor upgrade. I’ve had a TV mount from this brand before which aided my decision.
The mount was in a relatively compact package which felt hefty for its size. Everything was well packaged and included instructions were clear.
After laying out the parts, everything was included. Assembly took around ten minutes and could have been quicker, but I had to remove and reinsert and arm part as I hadn’t fully joined them.
In use this requires very little effort. My monitor has a fantastic range of motion which is probably above my present requirements but gives versatility. I use it for sitting and standing and my standing desk doesn’t cause significant vibration.
Overall, I’m really impressed with the quality at this price.
The monitor arm is very sturdy and well-built. The assembly was relatively easy and freed up space on the desk. The cable management option is quite handy as I could route the HDMI cables through the arm and nicely onto the cable management tray attached underneath my desk. Overall, good value for money.
Love this, and cannot recommend it enough. The price is cheap and easy to set up. you can add USB extensions to attach at the bottom of it which is very convenient for wireless docks or even to connect any USB to your PC. I’d say to read the instructions, most of us don’t mind them but it helped a lot setting it up. I had this issue that the monitor won’t go down but after reading the instructions I figured out that you can adjust this with the Ayen key. Very happy with the purchase.
I bought 2 of these around 2 years ago. 1 of them lost the ability to suspend the monitor after around 1 year. The other is still fine, however. I have tried to contact the company about fixing the item, but they are uncontactable. A very good product, if it doesn’t have problems.
Overall not a bad holder, but you have to consider that it is quite low for a 32″ or larger monitor.
The clearance from the table to the bottom of the monitor is 4 fingers, you will not be able to put anything under your monitor. Also the swivel nodes are not very tight, there is a fear that there may be problems with a strong tilt.
Update..
I have since received the new bracket and it’s absolutely perfect for my screen. It turns out my 32″ curved screen has a very different centre of gravity and it probably changed the load bearing capabilities of the mx200.
Invision have been absolutely brilliant in solving my issue.
The monitor bracket initially seemed ok, but after a few days it started to slowly drop in height. I tightened up the gromit with the small Allen key and it was ok again. But due to the size and curvature of my monitor, it dropped again so it looks like I would have been better off with the bracket for heavier monitors.
Customer service was exceptional and hopefully I will be reviewing a new bracket soo
I was surprised how well it worked. I have a fairly heavy Benq 32″ monitor and this holds it no problem. I was worried it would wobble a bit but it is easily as steady as it was on the stand it is was designed for.
Only minor point is that it doesn’t go quite as high as I’d hoped as I am using a desk raiser, but it is just about enough to stick with it.
If you want a decent sturdy arm for up to 32″ that will make your desktop a little tidier and your monitor more adjustable than this is for you. If you want a monitor arms for a standing desk look for something with a better max height like the mx450
I’ve bought two of these now for 27″ monitors. They are very sturdy and have no issues with monitors of this size.
Only a couple of issues with them really, first, the cable management is a bit naff, the plastic cage is ok at holding cables but it’s not great. Second, I’d recommend using a reinforcement bracket of some kind when attaching this arm to a desk.
Pretty fiddly to get setup but after setup you can forget about it since it does it’s job, brought the same type of monitor arm twice, it’s pretty good value so you can’t really argue since it does what it’s described to so with the expense of ease of setup.
Very easy to fit and adjust, holds my monitor where I want it but if you set the tension right it’s easy to move when you need to.
People are saying there’s an issue changing the angle – screw it to your monitor first then adjust the momnitor angle how you want it … it’s hard to change the angle without the monitor attached because it’s designed to hold all that weight.
Very good produc
This has to be one of the best, sturdy and superior build quality monitor arms I’ve purchased. I’ve had a few from Amazon within the past year, this beats them all.
Installation super easy, best part is the micro-adjustments are super easy. No messing around and all the tools supplied.
I may look to replace my second monitor arm with this.
It’s pretty solid, has a good range of motion, very quick and easy to attach a monitor and 2 options to attach to desk, I didn’t scree through desk I just used the clamp which is much sturdier than I thought it would be. Been using it for a couple months now and still solid.
It’s not cheap, but can’t imagine what else one would want from a monitor arm, this is good.
I originally bought one of these monitor arms for my partner to have a second screen on her desk for working from home. It seemed really well made and was very sturdy considering I used the provided clamp rather than bolting it down through the desk.
I bought a second one for my own desk to support a 39″ ultrawide monitor. I was dubious that it would be supportive and stable enough, and although I had to fix the monitor arm by bolting through the desk (the provided clamp wasn’t quite large enough to fit over a part of my desk), it is incredibly sturdy. The height and lift force adjustment made setting its position really simple, and the Cable routing hooks are great for Cable management.
If I decide to buy another monitor for my desk, I will certainly buy a third one of these.
A monitor arm for 30 should of been what you expect , however this time I was pleasantly surprised . Getting a lot more than you pay for this with arm especially taking into consideration the name brand versions of this are well over double the price .
So I recently decided to add a second monitor to my setup but unfortunately I don’t have much space, however thanks to this arm and its one size fits all I can fit my 32 inch and my 28 inch monitors In such a way that I can fit both monitors in what limited space I have. The rotation is good too because you can have the monitor landscape or portrait. My only problem with it is the wires get caught on the arm from time to time but that could just be my poor wire management.
How easy is it to build: Honestly the written instructions are far to complicated to understand, it’s like someone wanted to sound clever and overcomplicated it. Follow the images, takes maybe five minutes to put together.
Look & design: For 30 it looks rather high quality, I actually like the little Invision logo at the bottom of the arm monitor that faces you. Its sleek and glossy and to be honest how often do you pay attention to your monitor arm once you put it together? After a week it will fade into the background and you won’t pay it any further attention.
Stability: It holds my monitor in place, I can adjust the height and tilt, and I have no issues when knocking the table.
Overall opinion: Know the weight of your monitor, if it falls within the weight you should be fine honestly. For me this product is incredible overall and very impressive.
Final thoughts: Ignore my desk, I am currently upgrading my desk space after three years, however I am going to get another monitor and monitor arm to dual monitor. So Invision you have my business, thank you.
The base is a bit heavy which makes it had to set up and mobility is great once you get it set up but a bit of a trial and error with the hydraulic. Overall it’s working as expected.
This is a high quality monitor arm, perfectly manufactured and designed. Using the clamp, rather than resorting to drilling the desk, the arm has securely held a 27″ momitor for several weeks. It is easy to move the monitor around in any direction and it securely stays in that position. One could not ask for more. Study the assembly instructions before you get cracking and you can’t go far wrong.
Reason for my purchase:
My previous monitor arm setup was not ideal because:
1: You needed to loosen then tighten bolts which was quite fiddly especially if the monitors were already affixed.
2. The arms wouldn’t bring my two monitors together so there was always an annoying gap between them.
Buying two of these has solved both problems above.
I love the gas lift feature. You change the monitor height simply by moving it up and down. You don’t have any awkward allen keys to use and, because they’ve included torque adjustments, you can change the gas lifts to suit the weight of your monitor. One of mine was significantly lighter than the other but with a few turns of an allen key I was able to set the torque so that monitor could be moved, and stay!, in the position I wanted. The instructions explaining this were easily understood.
The arms themselves can be contorted into a myriad of shapes and configurations too which means they would be suitable even if you don’t have a lot of room behind your desk and you want to use the clamp method.
Speaking of which, I used the clamp method and found it really easy to get the clamp setup – I really like the ratchet system which gives you more leeway for adjusting to the thickness of the desk you’re clamping to. Saves on having to tighten the clamp over a long distance!
The cable management setup is good too. They’ve included usb passthrough in the clamp base. I’ve not used it personally but it could be very useful for others.
I had to contact support because one of the rubber caps for the clamp (to prevent it damaging your desk) was missing but a simple email to the friendly support team sorted it. A replacement part arrived within days.
Genuinely could not be happier with my purchase especially because the price was so low for such a premium bit of kit.
So this arm was for my Huawei GT monitor and it works perfectly. The arms are smooth to move around and holds strong once in place.
I’m using it with the clamp lock and it’s very stable. The clamp itself was very quick to install and holds perfectly. Monitor rotation is also nice and smooth with no worries about the arm not holding it steady.
For myself it’s amazing g for the price and I’d look into getting another if I needed any additional monitors for future setups
very nice monitor arm but still think I prefer the straight pole, because I can’t fit my laptop behind my monitor otherwise when I want to pull the monitor out to a different position the arms run into it..so you can’t have anything to tall in the way, that is if you need to move your monitor as I do sometimes to use from a different position.
is a bit bouncy when moving but doesn’t affect anything else, unless you like to jiggle your monitor around while watching for some reason.! the cable guides are niche top one better than the bottom because you can slide them in and out easily… the bottom guide is a bit more cumbersome, would be better with the both guides like the top style one. lastly it is very sturdy though and not loosening up at all mounted to the thru hole desk mount.
This arms are brilliant. They’re not the cheapest out there, but you get a lot of bang per buck. They carry even my heaviest monitors and mean I can put them exactly where I want them. I’ve used a fair few arms in the past and they all end up dropping. These are solid. I’d buy again for sure.
Got this to hold my 34″ ultrawide as it stated a 9kg load limit and my monitor is advertised as 7.8kg and other brands were all stating an 8kg limit. Although the listing says up to 32″ my expectations were still quite high when considering the specs and price and to be honest I couldn’t be happier. It holds the 34″ no problem and could still handle more if needed. The cable management on the stand is more than adequate for the usual dp and power cable and I even run some extra cables through it to keep them off my desk. The clamp is plenty strong and leaves me with no worries what so ever.
Honestly, I would recommend this for anyone using a 27″ – 34″ without hesitation.
Building and installation was easy, holds my 27″ monitor no problem. Can be stiff and feels difficult to get the perfect position sometimes but I imagine it’s easier with a smaller monito
MSI had to be different. My monitor is MSI Optix G272, and as you can see on the picture the fixing holes are not on the flat surface. I had to use a dremel to file a bit of sides of the mounting, took me 3 adjustments to get it just right. The arm by itself is amazing. Moves very easy. It was easy to assemble. Now I have much more room on my desk
Highly recommended, unless you have a MSI and don’t have a dremel
I wasn’t sure I needed a monitor arm but having a small desk I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did. This arm was super easy to setup, 2 arm pieces and a base. I went for the clamp system (through the desk looks as though it requires some drilling). I didn’t follow the instructions to the letter as a quick preassembly suggested to me it would be easier to attach the monitor before assembling the arm. Total setup time was about 10 minutes, this included disassembling my monitor. Once it was put together and I had adjucted the base position it took me about 2 minutes to adjust the tensions so that the monitor didn’t spring up or slowly lower. Range of movement is good, rotate and tilt are all excellent. I will say I am quite gentle and slow with the movements because I have a habit of breaking things, but the arm does feel pretty robust. I love the extra space I now have on my desk, I can actually use it.
The stand is very stable and holds a heavy 27 inch monitor with no issues. It can be stretched out and the tension has no problem keeping it up.
Notes
– The hinge that attaches the monitor and the base is initally hard to insert the allen key into as the joint is not alligned with the hole. To make it easier to adjust, attach the monitor first as the weight of it will shift the joint and show the allen key hole.
– The setup is very easy and only requires the tightening of the allen key screwes, however, is at points difficult to do if you have a heavy monito
Very easy to install and instructions were very clear.
The arm is quite flexible and you can pretty much put it wherever you want.
My only issue is that it’s quite wobbly, and whenever I type or flick my mouse hard, the whole monitor shakes. This doesn’t really bother me as I don’t notice it when I’m gaming but its something to bare in mind.
With that being said I did only clamp it to my desk so results may vary if you were to drill it.
A well thought out design. Plenty of adjustments where needed. Sturdy and stable.
Comes with a clamp which will secure to a wide variety of desk tops. Unfortunately I couldn’t use that, as I wanted to clamp to a shelf above the desk and there wasn’t enough room – my fault entirely.
I drilled an 8mm hole through the shelf and used the bolt, spacer/washer and wing-nut supplied.
Once secured, the assembly is very stable and well made. Plenty of ways to adjust the monitor position and once in it’s chosen position, it stays in place. I used this for a touch screen monitor and although quite heavy the gas-strut in the device holds it in position.
If I need to add another screen to my installation, I’d have no hesitation in purchasing the same item again.
Good value for money too.
This a really nice bit of kit. I had a HUGE base on my PC monitor and decided enough was enough and I needed to get it off the table and give myself more space!
Everything about this stand is good quality and is very sturdy, unlike a few others I have tried in the past.
It has the option to clamp mount or through desk mount. I went for the through desk option, which just needed a 10mm hole drilled, easy peasy! This mounting method is super strong with absolutely no movement or lifting of the stands base when moving or extending the arm.
The way the Desk clamp is put together also looks to be a very good, solid fixing, but my desk has extra bracing underneath so the clamp option would not work for me as there was no flat edge underneath to clamp to, I had wooded struts in the spot where the clamping plate needed to be.
I am using this with a 34″ Ultra wide Curved monitor and although it states “up to a 32”, I have had no issues with this slightly bigger screen, the important this is the Max weight which is 9kg, my screen comes in at 6.1kg without its base so it should be fine.
The range on movement is great being gas piston fitted and the screen is held very securely with no worries of it falling or tipping. Once the correct tension is set it stays in place and doesn’t drop down.
It may be a little more expensive that some of the other unbranded stands available, but why risk it with your expensive Monitor, it’s worth paying a little more in the long run!
Easy enough to assemble, can be a little fiddly to get fully “set” into the position you want. I only really have 2 main issues with it, firstly as others have said the cable management options are VERY LIMITED, given the design of the arm I can see the difficulty the manufacturers had in figuring out where to mount cable management options but good god what we ended up with really is quite feeble and basically useless. Especially if like me your PC isn’t sat right on the desk and your cables are at their limit in terms of length already. Your cable clutter will be just as bad as with a standard monitor stand, if your goal is cable cleaning look elsewhere.
Second complaint is monitor stability, it shakes and wobbles the monitor with even minor desk use, even typing this review now with fairly light keyboard strokes the monitor is bouncing around like a dingy in rough seas. I mostly use my PC for gaming so for me it isn’t a huge issue but if you type a lot or really mash your keyboard when you type you will notice it and it will bother you.
All in all though its a good product and I will likely buy another for my 2nd monitor.
I can only say how I found this kit and that is *Fantastic*!
There is a bit of (easy) assembly involved, but what you notice is how heavy and strong each of the parts is. I use it clamped to the edge of the kitchen worktop, although the kit comes with a variety of parts so that you can drill through a desk, for example, and mount the arm that way. The clamp works perfectly for me.
Another neat feature is the way you can route cables through the base, albeit during initial construction. I added two USB cables of different sizes because they are always handy. However, you could easily route a cable of your choice through the base. There are also plastic cable tidy channels on the arms, so no mess of spaghetti dangling like on some arms. A lot of thought has gone into this product.
I’m using a Dell 24″ monitor and once the adjustments had been made (using the Allen keys included in the kit!) it is perfectly weighted between easy to move and staying perfectly still with no “creep” of the arm whatsoever.
In terms of how strong it is, it looks like you could have a small child sitting on it, not that I recommend that, I always follow the instructions on my medication and keep well away from children!
The kit is great, it comes with *everything* you need (except a drill if you decide to pop a hole in your desk!) including three different sized Allen keys, nuts, bolts and *even* the four VESA mounting screws for mounting your monitor/screen onto the arm!
Value for money +++
Ease of construction +++
Sturdiness +++
I can’t fault this kit, it has to be one of the best on the market. If there is something better out there then I’ll bet it’s eight times the price of this one!
Very highly recommended.
