Good size. I carry the bottle around with me a lot and it has been dropped a few times. Never had any issues with spilling and the bottle is still holding up despite the battering.

It does not keep water as cold as metal bottles, but the water tastes nicer. I do not get any kind of artificial taste in my mouth when drinking from this bottle. As someone who does not particularly crave ice cold water, and gets through a bottle relatively quickly anyway, this bottle works great for me.

I probably don’t clean it as much as I should, but the wide rim makes this easy to clean.

I previously purchased a pink one of these, however decided I needed another one in purple to replace. The pink one was really good quality, despite the locking clasp snapping off (due to me dropping it oops), however the purple one arrived with a strange smell. I have washed it thoroughly on multiple occasions, however this smell remains. I do find this makes drinking from this bottle much less enjoyable and definitely puts me off. It’s a shame as the first one I owned was pretty perfect 🙁

Love the bottle as it is leak proof and very durable. As this gets used in the gym, at times I am dropping it on the floor and haven’t had any damages. Also the bottle doesn’t leak in my bag and is easy to clean after use

his water bottle is a great choice for those looking for a durable and convenient option. It’s made of high-quality stainless steel and has a double-wall insulation that can keep your drinks cold for up to 24 hours or hot for up to 12 hours. This feature makes it a great choice for outdoor activities, workouts, or even just for everyday use.

The water bottle also comes with a leak-proof lid that can prevent spills and is easy to open and close. Additionally, it has a wide-mouth design that makes it easy to add ice cubes or clean the bottle.

The water bottle is available in different sizes and colors, allowing you to choose one that fits your needs and personal style. Some customers have mentioned that the bottle can dent or scratch easily, but this is a common issue with stainless steel bottles.

Overall, this water bottle seems to be a great choice for those looking for a durable and convenient option to keep their drinks cold or hot for an extended period of time.

I purchased this dec 2022 and it’s the best water bottle I have had and I’m now purchasing a second one to keep in the office. It doesn’t have a straw so doesn’t get stained and the hole which you drink from is perfect size. Highly recommend and trust me I have purchased a lot of water bottles before

Generally these are good bottles, they’re sturdy and easy to use, and I like that the lid locks giving peace of mind when you pack a full little in your bag. But they suffer from weakness in the carry handle and in the hinged lid and its spring.

I own three of these bottles, two of them bought more recently after the carry handle broke on the first one (see pics) – which compromised the leakproof claim as the seals no longer line up with the spout and breather hole.

The idea was that I could use one while another gets washed and the overall wear and tear is spread over all of them. But the blue bottle’s spring-loaded lid no longer works because one of the spring seats is broken (see pics).

So only one of my three bottles remains fully functional and I think it’s only a matter of time before it craps itself too.

There are other identically moulded bottles out there that use a strap rather than a plastic carry handle – and that might be more durable. But the sprung lid is probably just as flimsy.

This is great. I love it. Easy to hold as the grips always line up perfectly. Has a little handle on top to carry or attach to stuff. The colour is lovely. It’s not like a bottle when you drink it. You kind of have to suck it like a straw. There is an air vent so if you don’t drink it like a straw it sometimes comes out of the little air flow hole and gets you in the face! Lol

Very cool bottle with a lovely locking latch on it. Only complaint is that there is an air hole in the top that makes a whistling noise every time you drink from it which is super annoying.

I already have a 500ml Ion8 bottle and decided to get this one to be able to drink more at work.
Great size and I love the shape (ridges for where you fingers go) making it easy to hold.
The only downside I find it that the lid feels thinner and cheaper than the 500ml, and sticks a little, so I don’t know if it’ll take the same amount of dropping the other does without smashing.
    Otherwise it’s nice

This item was bought as a gift, and has since been well enjoyed by the recipient.

The bottle is a decent size, and leak-proof even at full capacity as mentioned. On the side there are two small indentations which assist the grip of the bottle, these are well placed and certainly make for a better experience when using the item. As a rather large bottle, I think having a decent grip is important here.

Unfortunately I have dropped a star due to the fact that the colour was not entirely true to the picture. I ordered the rose gold/quartz design, and the colour was much more faint on the actual product. I could understand a slight difference due to image quality etc, but this was somewhat different. That aside, it was still a lovely colour.

I recommend this product for those looking for a decent quality, leak-proof, and single litre water bottle. You won’t be disappointed.

After losing my last water bottle, I decided on the Ion8 bottle to replace it. Mainly because it is climate pledge friendly and I like the plastic finger carrier rather than a cloth strap.

Although it is just a bottle and not a lot can go wrong, it does tick a few boxes.

    1. The thread on the lid is designed so that the lid is always put on the same way. This means that IOn8 are able to put a single indentation for your thumb and multiple indentations for your fingers which allow you to hold the bottle without fear of it slipping if you are sweaty or the bottle has condensation.

    2. The plastic finger clip for carrying it makes it better to carry (IMHO) and easier to clean and dry.

    3. It feels like a quality bottle made of with quality materials, not cheap materials which mean it will last a long time (Provided I don’t misplace this one!) and suffer a lot of abuse.

    4. I like the look and feel of the bottle in the flesh.

All in all, a very good bottle that I would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersThe Ion8 1 Litre water bottle is a water bottle made by a company called Ion8. It holds 1 litre of water.
It is a sturdy water bottle, made from a firm plastic-like substance, with an easy to use grip that – I personally feel – is more of a gimick than required for the function of the bottle, but certainly does no harm. I bought the black bottle so the water level on the side serves little function other than making the outside of the bottle look less empty.
The lid flips open using a latch system with the lid on a spring, the locking mechanism folds over the latch to stop the lid accidentally opening in a bag.
Whilst I haven’t actually performed the rigorous scientific tests of filling the bottle and turning it upside down with the lid closed to test the “leak-proofness” of the bottle, it has fallen out of a bottle holder once or twice to the ground and still did not leak water.
Some reviewers have complained about spilling water on themselves when attempting to drink from the bottle, if you suspect that you will not be able to handle the complex task of drinking from a water bottle, might I suggest getting a childs sippy cup and working your way up. It should be noted that turning the bottle all the way up to drink out of is both silly (because gravity exists and will invariably try to drag the water out of the holes, causing the aforementioned and oft- complained about drenching) and unnecessary: it is perfectly possible to get the required amount of water out of the bottle by tipping at less than 180 degrees.
Admittedly it is a tad more expensive than alternatives, but is equally: easier to use, more sturdy, less likely to flake inside (because there is no inside material to flake), and better designed than others.

In short, for people looking to buy this, I would suggest this logic: If you want to spend a fair amount on a bottle that will last a long time, buy this bottle. If you resent spending money on something you risk getting drenched by, buy a single use plastic bottle from your local supermarket. IF you’ve got this far through this essay of a review and still aren’t sure: just use a glass and fill it from a tap.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our Users[Update after 2 years] I’ve carried this with me and used it non-stop for 2 years. It’s been very very good. So easy to flip open one handed and grab a quick drink (useful in the car). It started leaking a little after quite a lot of use. We have very hard water and this could sometimes be fixed by giving it a thorough clean as scale does build up eventually. I then bought some replacement seals, but these never fixed the leak fully. It was still very usable, but I couldn’t trust it not to leak if lied down.

Now at 2 years the spring on the catch just broke. That’s probably not surprising after the amount of use it’s had. It would have been nice to be able to buy a replacement spring or even lid. Ion8 claim to sell these but they’re not currently available and I don’t know much they’d be.

They also (from pictures) seem to have moved away from the hand loop/strap and now only have the solid plastic finger loop on the lid. That means buying another is not straightforward as I much prefer the strap (perhaps fit my own to the loop).
    —————————

I’ve had a 650ml version for well over a year. I use it all day every day. It’s all good. The lid is easy to use one handed and can be opened and closed quietly if needed. It’s easy and quiet to drink from as there is a separate vent. That sometimes means you spill some water out of the vent if not careful, but not a big deal. The handstrap is fine, but for me (medium man’s hands, smallish wrists), it’s fractionally too short to put my hand through and then hold the bottle. A minor annoyance. We have hard water and it’s picked up some scale on the bottle just under the cap which is a little tricky to clean because of the shape.

None of these minor things have put me off ordering 1 litre versions for my wife and I. I first of all ordered another make on Amazon which looks the same in the pictures. In practice, I had put this back in the box to return within 5 minutes as it was a cheap knockoff. Almost identical looking, but the cap was cheaper plastics and the hinge and spring were flimsy and did not work well.

I’ve just received our two ion8 bottles and wanted to just mention that the description is a bit misleading. It says carry strap/hook in the detailed specs and you’ll see in one of the photos a picture of a hook rather than the strap. In practice we received one with the strap attached to a ring on the bottle and the other came with a hinged plastic loop on the lid itself. Odd.

The expect the one with the hook/loop will work better as a hiking bottle as it could be attached with a carabiner if needed. But not as easy to carry the rest of the time. It would be best if they came with the loop and a strap which could fit this.

I do think the description should be clearer. I’m not sure if the difference is colour specific. My blue bottle has the strap and my wife’s aqua bottle has the loop. You can see the difference in the main photo when you switch colours but it’s not immediately obvious.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersI’ve been looking for a good 1 Litre water bottle for a while now now, with no success in finding one with great reviews and doesn’t leak! As someone with IBD, i need to be drinking 4-5 litres a day, which is a stupidly large amount of water to drink over 24 hours. I needed a large but tough bottle that i could carry around with me at home, work, car, gym, pretty much everywhere and was BPA Free. I found Ion8 and braved the purchase. I wasn’t disappointed!

The product came in a plastic bag inside an Amazon box. No fancy box or wasted material. Just a plastic bag which is good for the environment! Less waste.

    Inside the bag contained:
1 Blue Ion8 Water bottle (1litre). With two easy to peal stickers on it. One on the side and one underneath the bottle

    Appearance:
The bottle looks cool and simple. With the Ion name, measurement scale (ml-oz) and the BPA seal printed on the bottle. Shows others that it’s not just any old water bottle, without using massive symbols and Motto’s. I found the 1 litre bottle quite tall to my surprise but not enough to be unwieldy. The Matte finish is a great look and also offers grip.

The lid has a futuristic look to it and looks quite unique. Upon popping the lid you find a plain base with an small air hole and a large sprout. Two rubber seals sit opposite on the moving lid to create the seal when closed.

The strap has a stripe/zigzag pattern to it, which it didn’t show in the pictures of the product. Not a bad thing by far, just a little surprised by it.

    Using the product:
I found the product great to use! The lid opens easily when you press the button and closes with a solid click. The extra lock works well in stopping accidental openings and is easy to engage/disengage.

The inside on the bottle is smooth and flat. No places for bacteria to hide.

The water just flows out of the bottle effortlessly, in a large quantity. No sucking required! Thanks to the small air. Now, The one downside to this design is, you can only drink from the bottle, when the sprout and air are roughly in line with one another. If you attempt to drink from the bottle, when the air hole is far to the left or right, you’ll find water flowing out of the air hole, into your face. However, the air hole is worth. Without it the water wouldn’t flow smoothly and you’ll need to suck the water out.

    Final thoughts:
This is great water bottle! Tough but stylish and bright. I 100% recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great water bottle for all ages and situations.
