    Wow 😀
This arrived today and I’m in awe as to how good it actually is.

Before I talk about what I love about this headset I want to point out a few things.
-this isn’t for listening to music when working. It’s a call centre type headset.
-this isn’t for connecting to your phone, again, it’s a call centre type headset.
-this isn’t for the occasional user of headphones. It’s a call centre type headset intended for heavy phone use.

This headset literally does one thing, but that one thing it does exceptionally exceptionally well.

I work for one of the biggest insurance companies in the U.K. and spent a lot of time on the phone talking to clients and suppliers, I needed a headset that not only was cordless, but also had no lag, and was super clear. I didn’t want to buy a headset that was going to make my job more difficult than it already is.
It was super important that I had great microphone quality, the ability to move freely around my home, and that it was able to last all day on a single charge, this headset delivers that. And so much more.

The noise suppression or noise cancelling mic is just insane. I have stood next to a running tap whilst filling a kettle, boiled a kettle, made a coffee, all whilst listening to little mix on the tv and none of that was picked up by the mic. It somehow erases the sound of you breathing (anyone who wears a headset knows how horrible this can be) and the “white noise” function is super cool!!!

This is an expensive headset, if that’s really an issue, you can buy a Bluetooth headset and use that, but it will not perform as good as this one I can promise. This headset is intended and designed to do that one job, and it does it so well.

I’m really really glad I got this headset. It’s going to make working from home that little bit easier.

I bought the teams version because of how heavy I rely on teams.

The case is lovely and handy to have, and the DECT dongle has a nice little pouch for it.

Installation was. Well. You just plug it in. It’s that easy. Worked that well on both my windows 10 work laptop and my own MacBook Air with zero issues.

Overall, super chuffed and happy with it.

I really like thee jabra wireless headphones and have had a good run of them through my teams meetings at work and have been very impressed so far.
they connect every time effortlessly and do have really good noise cancellation to them.
they are comfortable to wear, especially for long durations and adjust to your head nicely. they don’t feel overly heavy or bulky and I’ve had good feedback from my colleagues to say that the sound quality on their end has been crystal clear. they don’t drop out or lose connectivity and are simply reliable!
my only issues with thee is although i would rate them great i really cant see where the hefty price tag comes from.

I’ve used these few times for calls in my home office and at work office and they do the job. the set up was easy, i thought i had to go through downloads etc but its simple as plug and use. it looks neat and the design is simple but practical. comfortable to wear as they are over the ears and no pain for long calls and meetings. the battery lasts a long time which is great so i don’t have to remember to charge them frequently. only thing is they are bit pricey and for headphones that you use only for work/ professional call i don’t think the price is justified.

I was pleasantly surprised by this headset. They worked straight out of the box with my laptop, and was easy to use.
I primarily use a headset with online classes, so wear them for one to two hours at a time. This headset was comfortable and lightweight, although I haven’t tried them on all day.
I tested them on my laptop and desktop and had no issues with connectivity; either with bluetooth or the DECT adaptor. The audio clarity was great, both on the headphone and microphone.
The battery life was about advertised — it ran flat from full charge after 12 hours and 37 minutes.
Although the headset itself was good quality, the carry case it came with was a bit cheap and cheerful. I’d expect for the cot, that a hard case would be supplied.
The only downside I have with these is cost. I would not have bought these at full price just for online classes. I think you’d have to be using them a lot for business to justify the outlay.

This headset is a simple but efficient design. No problems with connectivity and the sound quality is very good. A bit rigid on the top of the head, i find, but the ear pads are comfortable.

My job means I have up to a dozen conference calls a day. Therefore the audio quality is for me of utmost importance. That also includes that the voice should sound natural and not like sitting in a box or the voice distorted. Using another Jabra model at work I was intrigued by the Jabra E55 and gave it a try in my home office. My call participant’s feedback to my question about how I sound was overwhelmingly positive with most saying it is perfect. That compared with the easy setup, the lightweight design, the possibility to use it wired or wireless are the reasons to make it a firm part of my homeoffice setup.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent headset and call quality

I’ve been using a wired headset since Covid started and thought it was about time I upgraded to a wireless unit.
    The upsides:
    1) The Jabra Engage 55’s are very light & sturdy which makes it comfortable during long meetings.
    2) Audio quality is impressive, better than my previous wired headsets (From Jabra and Plantronics).
    3) No one noticed any degradation in my audio/microphone quality.
    4) Connection is at another level, I’m now able to walk to the kitchen and around my entire house without loosing connection/quality and no noticeable latency.
    5) Integration with Microsoft Teams, saves having to use mouse for most used buttons
    6) After a full days use i had 65% battery

    The downsides:
    1) The carry case is soft and very cheap feeling, I would much preferred a hard case for protection
    2) Appearance, for the price I expected a better looking, more premium looking headset, it is subjective

    Summary:
I am very happy with the purchase, it’s a huge upgrade to my wired set and comfort, call quality and connection are top notch, everything that i needed from a wireless headset is met.

Very light, comfortable and clear audio

This is so lightweight and comfortable, you literally forget it’s on your head after a call.

The sound quality is fantastic, as well as the clarity and noise cancellation for other people.

The headset turns on with a single button in a couple of seconds and connects automatically, I didn’t need to install anything, just plug the USB receiver into the computer on Windows 10.

The only thing I wish it had would be a little charging stand/base.

  11. IngeborOHara says:

A definite upgrade from what I was using before. The sound quality is amazing and clean. Very comfortable to use too. It is quite light weight and being wireless allows you to move around and you don’t even realise you have it around your head.

Also considering I use it for work with Zoom, Skype and Teams, it is constantly on my head, you do not want it to weigh too much, and the weight is perfect.

The other great feature is the range. You can go about anywhere in the house and it keeps working perfectly. Never have come across headphones with such a range.

    Definitely a 5 star product!

I am absolutely delighted with my new Jabra Engage 55 headset. It worked straight out the box, I just plugged it in and way I went. I am very happy with the sound quality and absolutely love being wireless and not tied to the pc as with my previous wired headset. Very comfortable to wear, I have on all day long whilst working and forget I am wearing them. I 100% recommend this product. After a week of use I am still really happy with my purchase and would recommend. I can’t see any downsides.

I’ve been using the Jabra Engage 55 in its Stereo USB-A guise, and this is the variant that is set up for Microsoft Teams out-of-the-box. The first impression upon unboxing is how light the headset is. It is quite a departure from the over-ear headset from another major brand that I have been using up until now. Part of that is down to this being an on-ear model, and the rest I think is down to the design being function over form. There is no superflous padding or anything unnecessary, and yet the headset has been largely comfortable to wear even for a couple of marathon-length meetings.

In terms of getting it set up, it really was a case of plug and play. My laptop was on, I plugged the receiver in, the laptop set it up in moments and I was good to go.

The first comment from a colleague was “I can hear you SO much better now”. And therein lies the absolute USP of this product, and indeed, this brand. Jabra know how to make headsets that are just perfect for calls, like this one is.

There are some niggles, no doubt. I have a large head and while the headset isn’t uncomfortable, I can feel it really latch on to me by my ears. Also, if you have your headset off your head and not being used for a length of time, you need to press the button on the USB dongle to reactivate it – this was not intuitive so I joined one call wondering why I couldn’t hear anyone and they couldn’t hear me, even though Windows still recognised the headset as being active. Pressing the button and rejoining the call sorted things out pretty quick though.

My experience in terms of how well I heard the voice at the other end was not comparable to the aforementioned over-ear headset I had been using, as that was superior in terms of the listening experience. On-balance though, I definitely rate the Jabra Engage 55 quite highly for calling because of how impressive the microphone is.

There is also one feature I do wish this headset had, and it is something the Jabra Evolve2 65 has – the ability to connect to the laptop wirelessly via a USB dongle while simultaneously being connected to my mobile phone also over bluetooth. I’d love to be able to listen to music from my phone and be able to flick over to a call on the laptop seamlessly.

So, if you want a headset purely for calls, that lasts the whole working day between charges, look no further. The Jabra Engage 55 is really, really good for that purpose. For any more versatility though, Jabra has you covered elsewhere!

    A brilliant headset for calls

A great headset, comfy to wear and with such a great quality sound. Arrived very quickly, in a well presented box with a pouch – the first score! Once out of the box, it took a while to get the headset on, as it needed a charge. Once charge, it was very easy to install and work out how it works. Oh and also, it looks so stylish and just feels good on your head. No pressure, doesn’t slide/move, literally once you put it, it stays there. Shortly after that, i have had a 1st Team call and omg it was great. The function button worked as well, couple of people have mentioned that it quality is so much better than my old headset and they loved the fact that there is a little red light at the end of the mouth piece, apparently it looks like a laser and its fan to watch it. Overall a great piece of equipment and cant imagine going back to my old headset!

This headset exceeded expectation based on my knowledge of wireless headsets. When i received the headset it came in a great little pouch for transporting the headset as I travel around Europe for work. Also including the usb receiver and charging cable. After getting the headset set up I found it really comfortable to wear and you forget about it after some time as it is really lightweight. The audio quality has vastly improved in my virtual meetings and calls allowing for better clarity to clients when discussing business. Being wireless as well it has allowed allowed me to travel freely and take calls on the move with ease. The east to access teams control along side mute button and volume control make the headset overall easy to use. Having been a Jabra headphones user this headset had expectations for me and it has exceeded them. If there was a noise cancelling version (not mic but actual headset) I would seriously be looking at this as background distractions aren’t easily cut out by the headphones. Only thing preventing 5* is the battery life, I find I’m having to charge it at least everyday and if not during a day. It would be so much easier if it had a portable stand to charge with a magnet charger rather than having to be plugged in via a cable. If you want a serious wireless headset made For business with quality audio that you don’t mind charging daily then this is for you.

We unboxed this lovely headset to find a beautifully presented product with carry pouch that will be very useful when travelling across Europe as I work. The earpieces were protected for hygiene in the packaging and they are a sturdy design with mic that easily flips out when a call comes in.

Have started to test them on the laptop in day-to-day use and the call quality in the home office is good. Will be running further tests for roaming over the next few weeks and will report back. My old Logi headset with USB-A connector had a maximum of 10 metres roaming so really looking forward to the freedom these will provide when wandering around the house and garden.

Update: Have now tested with a wider range and with Microsoft Teams conferences with great results. The range and call quality really do make a difference to how you can work flexibly and not be tied to the desk.

Downloaded the Jabra Direct software and tried to update it to the latest version with mixed results – a reboot finally kicked it into life. Firmware can be kept up-to-date with the software. Also tested it connected to my phone instead of laptop, even though Jabra don’t support this. As it has USB-C, I could just plug it in as per my laptop and take advantage of the same 150m roaming features across all the audio capabilities of the phone!

Definitely worth the investment and looking forward to many months of full use.

A nice product both to look at and to use. It’s a little more expensive than your bog-standard headset, but then I do really believe that you get what you pay for with these. From the moment of opening the box, it looks and oozes class. The headphones come presented in a nice protective bag, and the attachments are all individually wrapped. Once I used the product, I found it very easy to pair with my equipment, and the sound quality was amazing. Really comfy on my ears, for me really important as I will be using them for up to 12 hours a time. Very well made, and I cannot imagine the need for me to buy and new headsets (unless I want an extra pair) in the future.

Before first use, I wondered how much set up these headphones would require compared with traditional headset. Upon first use, I was positively surprised as they were ready to go out of the box! They come with a USB dongle that needs to stay plugged into the computer. The headphones themselves have a call centre type of microphone and they cover both ears. They’re comfortable to wear, even long hours. The sound quality is as good as with other Jabra products so no surprise there. My biggest shock was when I found out about their range. It can stretch close to 150 metres! I’ve only tested them in the garden across multiple walls and found no issues whatsoever. The strongest point for me, though, is their battery life. I tend to have them on all day for work as I often have to be on call in the evenings. They can last for 12 hours without any ‘low battery’ warnings which is good enough in my books. These truly are top of the range headphones, which comes with a hefty price tag but they’re worth every penny!

I have been using these headphone for work on various Teams calls. They connected up easily and are comfortable to wear. The microphone raises up so if you just need to listen and want to enjoy a drink, it’s easy to adjust. I have a tendency to move around while on longer calls and these give the benefit of being able to move around but without losing any audio. The battery power is good but you can use them while they are charging although you may want a longer cable than the one provided when doing this.

This is my first wireless headset and I absolutely love it. It was so easy to set up and connect, the sound quality is great and they feel really comfortable over my ears even after few hours of use. And that is because they are so light. Black colour looks professional and very smart. The charge lasts me for ages and I love how they fold away in their case when not in use. Quite expensive but you get what you pay for in this case. Quality is fantastic and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a set of professional looking headset.

As a home worker, I spend 80% of my day on MS Teams calls and therefore a top quality headset is a must for me. The Jabra Engage 55 Stereo MS Team is perfect for my needs. The headset is very comfortable with nice thick cushioned ear pads and a very flexible headband that doesn’t apply to much pressure but also does a good job of keeping the headset securely in place on your head. The sound quality is very good whether its just listening to others speaking on calls or listening to computer audio. My colleagues have commented on the microphone quality during calls and is a definite upgrade from my previous low budget headset. The battery life is very good, especially if you long press the button to turn the headset off in between use and at the end of each day. Setup was very simple! Plug in the USB receiver, turn the headset on and away you go! Connectivity has been excellent so far, not a single drop of connection and I was even able to walk all the way into the street and still be connected perfectly to the PC in the office on the other side of the house. The mute and end call buttons all work perfectly with MS Teams and saves a lot of effort scrabbling to find the unmute button on the screen when you need to speak or the mute button if you need to quickly speak to someone off the call. All in all, I am very happy with this headset, if I had to find 1 negative, it would have been great if it included a charging dock but if that meant a sizeable increase in the cost then I would probably still order without it.

I’m a permanent home worker in a call centre environment and have tried a few different, more inexpensive headsets, included the one provided by work and haven’t found anything suitable. Either the audio is too quiet or it’s wired or it’s uncomfortable to wear over my glasses for long periods. This headset solves all of those issues! It’s extremely lightweight and easy to wear for my 8+ hour work day. The ear pads are so soft and padded and don’t press my ears uncomfortably against the arms of my glasses. It has a great charge time so I’ve never had to top it up during my work day, I just charge it at the end of the day and I’m good to go again all day the next day. I love that you don’t have to faff with Bluetooth and paring as the headset comes with a hub; plug the hub straight into your device (in my case my work set up which is a tablet and widescreen monitor) and away you go! I currently have noisy neighbours on both sides and I’ve always been concerned about them being picked up on my calls but with the excellent noise cancellation on this headset I can finally breathe easy on that front. I’ve had zero connection problems and the audio is crystal clear. It’s really convenient having the mute button on the mic and the flexibility of having the mic on either side. The headset comes in a lovely pouch along with the hub and a charging cable. I’m so glad I can finally stop looking for my ideal work headset!

As a long time user of headphones for work (20+ and home 40+ years), its fair that I have some experience in the differences! I was already using a cordless Jabra set (Evolve) which were great and comfortable. However now I am going into the office some days, I wanted a lightweight slim pair to travel with but still had great audio. The Engage absolutely fit the bill as they are excellent value for money, compact and lightweight and available in all the relevant configurations to fit everyone’s purpose. They don’t take long to charge and I get a couple of days (average use) in between. What I was most impressed was with the Bluetooth audio range which by far is the most I have had for any of these home office headphones. I can walk about the whole house now at home whereas I couldn’t leave the same floor with any of my other headphones. They were very easy to setup and the app is quick to install and configure. They look terrific and fell premium to the touch; it is easy to forget you are wearing them to be honest. I would absolutely recommend you purchase these and I think everyone will be impressed!

    The best by far!!

I’ve always seen Jabra as being one of the leaders in the headset space, but unfortunately I’ve never been able to justify spending that much more on a headset. Now I’ve actually done it I can say 100% you get what you pay for and it is worth it! The call quality is soo much better, I find I no longer have to ask people to repeat their questions because I couldn’t hear them properly and they can also hear my so much more clearly! One person even said it sounded like I was an air traffic controller very professional and smooth sounding! Initial setup was super easy, literally just plugged in the USB-C Jabra Link 400 and within seconds my laptop was ready to use it! Although not officially supported I also plugged the Link 400 in to my Samsung S22 Ultra phone and was surprised to find I could also use it with that, which now means I get crystal clear calls regardless of which device I’m using!! My only downside to the product is the head set uses a Micro USB to charge it!! This is now my only device not using USB-C so I have to carry around a cable just for the headset. Bit of a let down and would have easily got 5 stars if it wasn’t for that.

Great quality - Improved my audio

My job sees me on teams calls for most of the day; for me a headset is like a screwdriver to an electrician.

I’m pleased to report that the Engage 65 sports some great characteristics for such an important tool.

The range is superb so I can sneak off for cups of tea whilst listening in and responding, the fit is comfortable on my ears and due to the incredibly low weight it doesn’t bother me throughout the day.

Both sound output and input are great for voice calls but don’t bother for music or videos, that isn’t what they are designed for. The software is another highlight with lots of configuration and customisation options.

I have only a couple of minor critiques; the microphone arm is a little bit flimsy compared to even Jabra’s own Evolve line and is also missing the lift to mute function, gladly there is a button on the end of the mic to toggle. The other is that the headset charges via a micro B usb port on the headset itself which means I have to carry yet another charger.

All in all a great piece of kit, it does the job without complaint, battery lasts all day and it’s comfortable to carry around and wear.

Got these as part of a trial and was really excited to put them to a test since I work from home and receive/make a substantial amount of calls. So here are my thoughts:
    + Lightweight and comfortable
    + Great audio quality
+ Long battery life (lives through 8h day)
    + Military grade security standards
+ Can be used while charging
    + Very good wireless range

    – Headset battery life not accurate on Jabra Direct app
    – Control buttons (pick the call, drop the call, put the call on the hold, switch between calls) works only in Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and Zoom
    – Way too expensive
    – Can be challenging to reconnect the headse

    Lightweight and comfortable

The unpacking and setup of the Jabra 55 is very simple – I was up and running calls within minutes of connecting the USB-C dongle and pairing with the headset was effortless with clear audio prompts and light indicators.

The headset looks very professional and comfortable enough to wear all day. They are so lightweight that at times you can forget they’re there. Unlike my previous over the ear cup headphones, I would find after an hour or so the ears can get hot and sweaty but with the Jabra, they simply sit over the ear lightly and allows your skin to breath and not cause any discomfort.

The button controls are designed well and add value when using the shortcuts to start/stop a call, mute, and adjust volume control. The battery capacity allows me almost 2 days without having to re-charge and I average about 4-5hrs of calls each day – can be shorter if I listen to some music as well.

Call quality is fantastic even in a busy office environment with noise cancelling features doing a great job which is a must for me when WFH with two very noisy young kids.

The use of the MS Teams button on the headset is also a handy option which can be configured with other “UC” apps such as Skype etc. I have so far successfully used the Jabra 55 UC headphones with Skype, Webex, and Microsoft Teams applications.

Accessories included are one USB-C charging cable and a carry case.

Overall, very satisfied with the headset and is now an essential everyday office tool.

The product is extremely Sleek and easy and quick to set up. It is discrete and has its own pouch which allows you to travel with it , keeping the products safe from any harm or drops. The device comes with The dongle which connects directly to the computer and has its own mute and unmute button. the headset which has a button that you can customise to various functions at your desire. Additionally you receive a charger, two additional alternative headsets that your device will sit in and additional earbuds. The sound is crisp and the microphone picks up everything. I use Dragon software to dictate as opposed to type when I cannot use my right hand due to arthritis, this was a must-have feature. and I have to say I was impressed by the noise cancellation in comparison to other devices that have been used. I would definitely recommend this product, Cons I found that the ear Hook was rather on the large side , and despite the instructions to manipulate the placement of the hook by bending it it did not feel as secure as I would like it even though it had the secondary ear plug that would prevent it from falling. I would have liked more instructions on how to disconnect the ear Hook to allow for me to turn it into a headset. this was rather fiddly and the instructions did not feel clear enough and I have not been able to date to make that transition – Not the biggest deal as at least I have the option once I work it out. In terms of my personal preference I would have liked to have two inner pockets inside the pouch one for the actual headset and one for the dongle that connects into the computer.

    Sleek piece of kit!

I have been using these headphones mainly for work on Teams calls but also connected to my phone through use of a USB C to USB A adaptor. Starting with the packaging for the headphones. These headphones come in a soft fabric carry case inside of aslimline box which also contains the product manual. The case itself is fairly well padded and to test this out I carried it around in a backpack that had a number of heavy objects and there was no damage to the case or headphones. The case itself also contains a small compartment for holding the wireless adaptor so as not to lose it which was very handy. Moving onto the headphones themself. They surcharge using a micro USB cable which was provided. Personally I was disappointed that it charges using micro USB instead of USB C, but this is still fairly common amongst the industry. One positive about charging is that you can still use the headset whilst it is charging and it does not get any hotter, so the comfort remains. Battery life is quite decent and comfortably kept its charge for 2 full days st work before requiring a recharge, which included over 7 hours of actual talk time. The range is quite good as well, when working from home, I was able to still be connected between floors. As mentioned before the primary use of these headphones was for work, and the sound quality was very clear and crisp, however even when tested out for gaming and watching movies the sound quality was pretty good, either sufficient range of sound. One downside for me is the design of the headphones. Whilst quite lightweight, the frame is unpadded in comparison to other Jabra wired headphones such as the Javra Evolve2 40. The frame is quite thin and whilst it has been durable so far, I have used similar styled headphones in the past which have ended up breaking sooner than more padded ones. Overall a decent set of wireless headphones which I would recommend

Decent bit of kit, with a few minor flaws

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been a massive fan of premium brands like Jabra, but have generally held back from investing in a good headset because of the significant price.

I decided recently to take the plunge with the Jabra Engage 55 Stereo Wireless Headset because I realised this is the one device I use for most of the day on work calls and listening to music while not on work calls. How glad am I that I decided to!

I had switched from another brand, and immediately, the thing I noticed was the audio quality. It makes a difference having this versus something way cheaper. The professional grade noice cancellation is excellent. I recently had my neighbour operate a noisy lawn mower (for his last mow of the year I hope!) and my colleagues couldn’t hear a thing.

The battery life for me was good (given its continuous use), and it doesn’t take too long to charge back up, especially if you do so say at lunch time or whenever you take a break, rather than wait for it to fully die down (which it only does after several days).

Wearing it is also relatively comfortable, even if you use it throughout the day. It is light weight and you hardly notice it after a point.

The headset comes with a very nice and good quality cover.

Overall, I think this is a great addition to your WFH kit. Yes, it’s expensive, but if you use something so much, the utility value exceeds the investment value. If you can get your company to pay for it, even better!

You get what you pay for!

I am very impressed by these earpods, they have performed well above my expectations. Good: The ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) is significantly above my expectations. I love good music and medium to high end audio, I have high end headphones and earpods from several brands. None of them have performed as well as the LG Tone Free UT90Q. I was astounded that they performed better than closed back headphones! Battery life: it is impressive given they ANC is so effective and the pods are so small. Formfactor of Case: The case is very compact when compared with some competitors, they are very pocketable. Sound quality: very acceptable, not too punchy but decent quality. Packaging: very eco friendly, using minimal plastic, I definitely approve. Setup / integration: setup was very easy, and the ability to stream from an AUX cable with the case is a very cleaver additional feature (when not requiring an app) BAD: Max volume is lower than I would like. Case is still thicker than I would like. the ear pod shape is a bit weird. Conclusion: very premium feeling, feature packed EarPods, I really like them!

    Pros:
    – Easy to set up, just plug the dongle into one of your free USB computer slots
    – Extremely comfortable. The leather ear pads are comfortable after long use.
    – Great audio and microphone quality
    – With more and more meeitngs being held online, these really help with clear communication during these meetings
    – Lightweight
    – Great battery life, will last a full day, so as long as you charge at the end of the day you won’t be needing to reach out to plug it in during the working day. Can be used whilst being charged.
    – Price may seem expensive, but due to it’s weight, sound quality and comfort it is money well spent for those who spend hours a day on teams/skype/zoom/etc meetings
    – Good wireless range, say’s 150meters, not tested it this far but I can stay connected around the house

    Cons:
    – None!

I hope you find this review helpful

In the new age where remote/working from home is the common, many would agree that a good headset is an essential tool for your professional day to day needs.

So, how does the Jabra Engage 55 Headset perform?

Straight out of the box, the headset was very noticeably lightweight and came with easy to follow instructions to set up/connect the adapter without any issues.

The sound quality is very good – Teams meetings are clear and crisp both ways and even your favourite tunes will sound great with this headset.

Fundamentally, where this headset shines brightly is elaborating on its lightweight aspect – the majority of the time, it’s like its not even there. In turn, allowing you to focus on tasks as long as you need, whereas other headsets may be heavier/tighter fitting over time. This headset stays in place and comfortably fits larger heads with slight adjustment.

Moving onto battery life – simple, it has good capacity (easily lasts a whole working day and more) and charges up fairly quickly as well with notifying colours to indicate when it’s charging and when it’s good to go.

The only slight criticism one could state is with regards to turning off the headset – there’s one button on the right side to turn on/off/launch teams. Turning on the headset when you’re back at your desk is a short hold, however when you need a break/charge it etc, it feels significantly longer to press down to turn off. Improvement to this product could be having a sliding switch or a dedicated separate button for easier on/off.

Price-wise, it may seem on the higher side in comparison to other wireless headset however you’d be hard pressed to find other headsets that confidently deliver on comfort, sound quality and overall build quality.

    Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFirst impression:
The headphones are rather small with soft over the ear cups about the size as a large marshmallow. The phones swivel and retract into the headband, which is sprung to grip your head. The call mute button is on the end of the microphone stem and the microphone has some discernment built in to its software or microphone design to attenuate unwanted sounds.
The transmitter has a USB-A plug, with a relatively short flexible wire, terminating in the round transmitter module that is about the size of a large coin (somewhere between a 1 and 2 here in the UK). It carries a pairing button that glows blue when connected to the headphones, and green when not. This version is Teams compatible and there are a great many colours that can be shown for different modes of operation and it also flashes too, but I think that the designers have gone a little bit too overboard.
Although the headset works out of the box, there is some optional software that can be downloaded on to your computer. On installing, the software automatically picked up the Engage 55 headset and Link 400 module. The software lets you customize settings for these devices, such as which side of your head do you want to position the microphone arm. The software is nice to use, and the settings that you can change, limited though they are, is all set out clearly.

    What I liked:
The headphones are plug and play even without the optional software. I simply plugged the transmitter into a spare USB port and charged up the headphones. They appeared as ‘Jabra Link 400’ in both the Output and Input in my W10 sound settings.
The sound quality is reasonable for the size and you can press the left button to change the tone. I was glad to figure this out as the default was terrible with poor bass and mid range.
The case is nice and soft in grey felt so will store the headphones in a cushioned pouch. Given the cost, a slightly more robust shell might have been better, as I think accidentally sitting on them would be a disaster.
The headphones are very light weight. Apart from the pressure on your ears, you would hardly know that they are there.
Reasonably comfortable to wear — but not perfect. The over ear cups adjust to the angle of the ear and the band at the top hardly touched my head. This is in contrast to other headphones that I have used where the head band is simply too hard and rigid for comfort. My head is not small and these headphones, even though they look small, fit very well but also gripped adequately with what looks like a piece of spring steel in the head band. The over ear aspect allows your ears to breathe I found, but they do then press on your ears, rather than the cup type that completely surround you ears.
The microphone does not get in the way when not in use, unlike my last set of headphones. It folds up vertically and you don’t notice that it is there until required. This is my bug bear with headphones and thankfully they have got it right with these.
The range is good and I tried them throughout the house and they worked fine. They run on 1.990 to 1.9GHz here in the UK. My house telephones are also DECT and work in the 1.88 to 1.9GHz range so there is overlap, but there does not seem to be any interference that I have noticed and the devices skip through the bandwidth to avoid this, and besides, the signal is digitally encoded.
I wasn’t sure why the microphone mute button was in position at the end of the microphone stalk but then I thought of all the times I used a microphone headset when I instinctively covered the microphone with my hand to speak aside with some privacy, and realised that the button is in exactly the right place.

Anything I didn’t like so much:
The headphones are much quieter than my Sony headphones and I have to almost double the PC volume to achieve the same level and use these at 70, whereas my Sony over the ear phones work well at 35. This would be inconvenient if I switched to different sound outputs, especially if I put the other headphones on my head without realising and suddenly got a blast of something at loud volume. I will just have to be careful.
I do notice that there is about a one second delay on clicking play on a video, and this is getting a little annoying. The is not there on headphones plugged into the audio socket with a 3.5mm jack. This might be something with my computer, but might also affect yours too.
There should be some instructions issued with the headphones. At one point I became disconnected and struggled to sort out the problem, but luckily the manuals are all on the website it you search for the product. It turns out that the headphones and the link had become unpaired for some reason and the manual told me how to pair them again.
The charge cable should really be USB-C as everything is moving to that format slowly. The supplied cable is USB-micro.
There is a slight annoyance with the downloadable software, in that you don’t get to decide on where to install the software. I prefer to install software that I will not use often and does not need to launch quickly, off my SD drive and on one of the HDDs. I did not get a choice here.
The headset volume buttons are on the same side at the microphone stalk. When the stalk is in the raised position, the volume up button is obscured. I suspect this is matter of interchangeability of parts between the mono and stereo versions, but is it still a slight nuisance.
The headset is stereo and I could not figure out how it knows which way round the headset is on my head, except possibly the setting in the downloadable software that allows you to swap the mic arm position. There is no L and R marked on the headset anywhere. The default is that the mic arm is positioned to the right so I changed it to left in the software. I do wish that this was in the instructions somewhere.

    Conclusion:
I quite liked them, even though my findings are a mixed bag. They are comfortable and work well, even with the delay. Call integration is seamless and that is what you pay for to a certain extent. The price is very high, about 190 and I think an office would be buying multiple sets at a discount. I can’t see anyone stretching to 190 as a one-off. The quality is good and they win on being light weight, and for people that spend the whole day on the phone, comfort is king.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful with some good information to allow you to make your choice. If it was helpful, then please click the button so that I get some feedback.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really light weight but quite pricey. Plug and play.

    Thin, lightweight, high quality headphones.
Easy to set up, with the Bluetooth dongle working with a quick click-hold, same with the headset.
Unmute/Teams answer when you move the mic up and down, which saves faffing around with clicking when you’re having a busy day.
Good noise cancelling; effective quality of sound. No issues with latency in audio and video calls, and echo cancellation also good.
Because they are so light, they don’t hurt/cause irritation when worn for long periods of time.
Excellent battery life; last a full working day and more without needing another charge.

This headset looks and feels really professional. It’s easy to use and comfortable enough to wear all day.

Call quality is fantastic and I find it easy to hear the caller even in a busy office.

    Really nice headset, would recommend.

Do not expect to be able to jam to your tunes with these on. They are not designed for that. Where they perform is voice calls and they do it very well.

The build is excellent – they do feel delicate but regular use they will be fine. The ear pads are leatherette and very comfy to wear for extended periods.

Simple to setup – literally no drivers are required. Just plug in the dongle and turn on the headset and you are ready to go. There is a handy mute button on the mic so quick activation is easy when privacy is required and it all get stored nicely in a felt soft pouch.

At time of writing 190 this is not cheap but the quality is exceptional. Audio quality is truly remarkable .. clear unmuffled and bright.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wireless headset for talking .. NOT for music!

If you’ve used other Jabra headsets, this will be immediately familiar, with its excellent, flexible adjustments. My version comes without a charging stand but a version with the stand is available. You’ll find in the box a useful storage pouch, a USB charging cable and, significantly, a DECT adapter instead of a wireless base.

Setup is straightforward — plug the adapter into a computer USB port and switch the headset on. That’s it. The headset is charged using the supplied USB cable. Maximum run time is given as 13 hours, and it can be charged while in use, if necessary.

Sound quality is up to a high standard. Even music sounds surprisingly good. The noise cancellation microphone works well, cutting out most background noise including keyboard clatter. Clever technology is used to prevent potentially dangerous sound spikes and protect your hearing.

I haven’t tried wearing the headset for more than about an hour but it seems comfortable enough for extended use. You get all the facilities you’d expect, such as call status LED, busy LED, a mute button and the ability to hear your own voice if you want to. It’s pleasing to know the battery can be replaced, if necessary in the future.

The range is impressive (and security is enhanced) through the use of DECT rather than Bluetooth. Ignore the 150-metre claim because it’s based on line of sight, but it certainly works well over a long distance and through office walls.

Negatives? Surprisingly, the charging port on the headset is micro-USB. Not that it really matters, but I’d really like to see the back of micro-USB and get rid of all my micro-USB cables. And there are no instructions in the box, not that you really need them for day-to-day operation — you have to download softcopy. My only other whinge is that it’s made in China. I try not to support the Chinese economy, given many of China’s activities around the world.

Overall, though, the Engage 55 is a quality product. It’s well thought-out and nicely engineered, so the 190 asking price seems justified.

I was very happy to be able to order these to try out. I have gone through a couple of (much less expensive) wireless headsets before and they have been fine for calls and range within our fair sized house but music quality generally wasn’t so good. I can notice the difference in quality of sound instantly with these without changing any settings yet.

The headset comes very nicely packaged. The headset itself is very light, feels comfortable once adjusted correctly, and it is great that you can flip the microphone over very easily to have either on the left or right side. It feels very flexible too.

The receiver plugs into the USB port (I ordered the USB-A one) – the windows 10 driver automatically installed and after switching on the headset (a few seconds press on the ear button) it was connected. A decent length charging cable is included to charge the headset (which was already charged when unpacked).

I tested it on an audio/video call and it worked very well – the background noise usually heard from my air conditioner couldn’t be heard by the person I was talking to (usually they can hear it a little) – so the noise canceling must work!

I then played some music with a good mix of frequencies, a decent drum/bass and it sounded brilliant! Then, to test the wireless distance capability I went downstairs and it worked in every room (we have quite thick brick walls) – no problems. I then continued outside to the end of our garden (about 60-70 metres) and there was absolutely no drop in quality or sound – still brilliant!

I often listen to music and/or the radio in my home office whilst working and this will help to concentrate when there is extra background noise (little ones lol) and also when I am in a call and want to pop downstairs to get a coffee, to the other room to get a print-out without having to pause the call.

It comes with a neat bag to pack and store it away. There is also free software to download from Jabra – which I have not yet tried but will do so soon and will update here.

Overall – I absolutely love this. I don’t think I would pay this price myself (around 190 at the time of ordering) – hence the 1 star drop – purely on price. Previously I have only paid around 40 for one but having experienced this product I would certainly consider paying more around the 100 mark for a headset like this. I’m very sure it would make a nice luxury gift for someone working from home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable and flexible, great sound and brilliant wireless distance

These are the new headsets from Jabra. I actually have their older set that I was using for work already, and are excellent so I had high expectations for these. They didn’t disappoint.

There are several upgrades in my opinion. Firstly, they can be used wirelessly. Brilliant. No more fighting with cords and I can walk away from my laptop briefly, move around or stretch without issues. Simple but important.

I work from home, with constant Teams meetings. I need headsets that can block background noise that comes from outside my office very well. These do exactly that. I don’t get as distracted and my colleagues or clients cannot hear my toddler and her dad dancing to disney in the other room! If you need a headset that fully cancels the noises YOU hear too then I’d recommend one of their fully ear covering models. These ones more than anything clear the sound that others hear from you if that makes sense.

At the same time, they are quite lightweight in comparison to the older model I have and can be worn for hours without tiring me.

If that is important to you, they also come with a secure technology to keep your conversations private.

I’m certainly going to use these from now on and I recommend them for home working.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for clear sound, significant reduction in background noise

The packaging on the Engage 55 headset looks well-made and professional. It comes with the headset itself, a link, and a USB-A cable.
The design doesn’t feel premium for the price tag, Though it has a metal-like material at the top of the headband and the rest is made out of plastic.
Doesn’t look sturdy, it looks like that is going to break very easily.

The setup is really quick, efficient, and easy to set up and there is nothing complex to do.
Plug the link into the USB port and you’re ready to go. They have their own software too and you probably don’t need that to make the headset and link work so that’s optional.
The software offers a lot of options for the link and a few for the headset but you can discover that for yourself on Windows or Mac.
The mic quality is good, you can hear clearly and people on the other side can hear well too.
From a gaming perspective, the headset is okay and should work fine with your games, but don’t expect too much from it if you are a heavy gamer.
From a professional perspective, the pricing is too high for a headset that’s mostly made out of plastic
Overall, the Engage 55 headset is not a bad product, it’s okay. I think it depends on what you’re going to use it for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its a good headset, but too overpriced

I never thought Jabra can be this good. Once started using these headphones, i haven’t changed them for anything else. They are super light, connect instantly. It also helps me move away from the desk during calls as the range of the wireless headphones are high. It’s 150 meters, though I have tested it only with around 75 meters. It doesn’t pain you at the end of the day inspite of attending zillion calls throughout the day. Highly recommended product.

If you prefer noise cancelling headsets then this one is for you! So sleek.
I would say that if you prefer smaller ones go for this model. I have tried the evolve one before and it was definitely more uncomfortable as they were bigger so I would for sure recommend the ENGAGE 55.

It comes with a case which is great and as you can easily chuck it in there to avoid any scratching of dust settling.
Price point wise, yea they are quite pricey so a slight reduction would make a lot of people very happy as I can understand not everyone would be willing to spend this much on a headset but I would say they are worth it.

    Very good quality wireless headphones.

Finished with matt black, these headphones looks and feels really nice. With the large padded leather ear cushion they are really comfy on the ears giving you maximum comfort whilst enjoying the music.

The headphones are compact when walking it around. The music quality is actually really good, giving out strong bass and transforming it into crisp sound. 13 hours playtime with the wireless range.

Charging about 3-4 hours, 13 hours talking/music play time varying by the volume and music type, up to hours of talking time and long lasting standby time.

Reduce distracting ambient noise by up to 96%. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology effectively reduces the noise of city traffic, drone of a plane cabin or hubbub in a busy office

There are no instructions in the box but there is a printed notice inside requiring you to go to the Jabra website to view instructions of use but the set is really easy to understand and set up and i have had no issues at all but did visit the site for a few tweeks here and there,
Over all very good product highly recommended at a good price too.
