We have a bengal cat who has decided she knows how to open our nightstands and steal things from inside and bring them to us throughout the day like an elaborate game of fetch, hilarious for her but annoying for us so, CHILD LOCKS IT IS.
These are great, however I was playing with one to figure out how they work and accidentally fully closed one half BEFORE I read that you’re not supposed to do that because you can’t undo it, ffs, fine I only have 3 drawers so I put the remaining 3 on and provide the 4th “used” one to my partner….who rams a screwdriver in there and un “locks” it so I can use it once more, woo!
So if you accidentally lock yours into place while figuring out how they work, no fear, just jam something in there and have a go at it.
Oh and to her absolute mortal torture, she can no longer open the drawers even though she tries with all her might, so does the job.
It sticks really well, and will hold a good amount of force before giving in. It could be really strong if put in a good position. Try to install it L bent. I installed two straight wise and both broke, one from the clasp and the other the strap broke. all the L bent ones are still doing a good job.
These locks are a lifesaver, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any parent (feline or otherwise) looking for a simple, effective way to childproof their home. Five stars all the way!
I really like these strap locks as I’m just beginning to use them around the house. They’re easily to put on and convenient to unstrap when I need to. Strong enough to keep drawers locked so that the little one can’t pull them open.
We needed some sort of lock for our dog food container. The lid doesn’t click and just lays loosely on top allowing revolting slugs actually pushing up the lid and sliming onto the food! We live in a 300 year old house and the utility room is a bit damp. This lock works a treat, sticks really strongly, opens and closes well and great results – no more slugs in the utility thinking there’s food on tap too.
We bought these for an old fridge which kept popping open so it has solved our problem fantastically no more open fridge easy to fit easy to open when needed a great buy.
Stick on really well, baby was confused as to why he could not longer get into the cupboard 🙂 also easy for me to open and close when I do need to access the cupboard. Great product for Great price.
Easy to fit. Good adhesion with the sticky pads supplied. Little bit fiddly to use at first but soon got used to it. An added bonus was the little one can clip them back on if I forget!
Easy to install and open for an adult. So far, keeps my little explorer out of the drawers and cupboard. Would figure it out at some point but good enough for now. Only hoping the adhesive doesn’t damage the surface when we want to remove it later. Good stuff overall, would recommend.
These are good and definitely stop baby getting into cupboards and drawers. However they’re quite fiddly to open and often difficult with one hand if not your favoured side. Therefore I wouldn’t put them on something you access multiple times a day.
door handle broke on my upright freezer just has guarantee had run out and it was going to take eight weeks for a new one or 600 pounds for a new one came up with the idea of using this on my door and it,s brill for a few pounds saved a fortune.
These are great for cupboards that are on the end of the row so you can put one piece at 90degrees to the other, much easier to install compared to traditional child licks that go inside the cupboard. Not so good for middle cupboards as they can still open slightly.
