Was a bit worried as never tried a dye before but easy instructions and no mess plus you can control how much is used. The colour was a great match as well!
Takes seconds to mix, minutes to apply and works perfectly
However don’t answer the phone and forget to watch the clock as I did
2mins longer and it darkens considerably but that was my own faul
I have been using this for now 4 years though not for beard but head hair, quantity is adequate for short hair, what I like most is unlike most hair dye it has very mild chemical smell, applicator works well, color stays for roughly one month may be even longer if you don’t shampoo everyday
I have a grey beard, this product I believe helps me appear younger. Forget the wrinkles and complete lack of hair on top of my head, I feel younger ok! You hear me god damit, I am NOT a middle aged man going through a midlife crisis! Yes I own a motorcycle, yes I sometimes think that I can still push weights but I draw the line at getting my ear pierced! Ok i admit that Harrison Ford looks good with his ear pierced but it’s not for me
I’ll just settle for my subscription of beard dye, this product is the best I’ve found so if you are a man (or woman, I guess) and you don’t want to look like Captain Birdseye then this is the product for you.
If you have issues with grey hairs, or a two toned beard like myself. This is a great product. Though be warned, if you leave it for more than 7 minute the dye will look rather dark for a few days before dying down.
However, the colour remains after dying down till your beard grows out, so I highly recommend topping up every 2-3 weeks (depending on how fast your beard grows)
Works great as it should. Could not be easier. Just one thing, make sure you pick the right colour. Coz the colour on the box is definitely the colour you get. So don’t do what I did. Thinking I’ll buy a darker colour becoz once it’s in it will look lighter. Yeah noo that’s not how it works. I ordered dark brown black and well it really is DARK brown BLACK. Definitely getting a medium brown next time lmao
Does what you need it to do, good value price
Great product. Does the job. Only issue is the brush it comes with to apply the paste does not get enough coverage in tight areas (sideburns) you gotta really apply more
My beard has been sprouting white/grey hairs in multiplying numbers for the past year or so and so I thought I would give this product a go and see if it made a difference without too much hassle.
The application process was straightforward and hassle-free. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for someone like me who is not particularly skilled when it comes to grooming. The dye mixed easily and applied evenly throughout my hair. I appreciated that it didn’t drip or stain my skin, making the cleanup process much easier.
The results were impressive. The gray hair coverage was excellent and within a few minutes everything had blended in nicely to a non noticeable black colour. I was a bit worried about choosing black as perhaps my hair colour is a very dark brown but everything seemed to blend in well and didnt look odd.
The colour also lasted quite well, with only minimal fading after a few weeks. There is loads of product in the box so this will last me ages even if I need to redo as the new white hairs appear.
The product didnt cause any irritation to my skin although I was a bit concerned when it looked as though it had dyed my skin, though thankfully this washed off pretty easily.
Overall a decent product which I would buy agai
Easy to use and a little goes a long way.
The brush is good and the back of the brush works well for stirring the mixture.
If you have black hair, use dark brown to give a more natural look and keep it on for at least 10 mi
It does actually cover greys unlike the beard wash but if you leave it on too long it does go jet black rather than brown.
I’m a female and been using this for my brows. The best dye that lasts and stains the skin well too. Highly recommend for everyone with patchy and over plugged brows.
Saw this product being used to fill out eyebrows and at the price I thought I would give it a shot. I used a small paintbrush and I am impressed with the results. I processed for 7 mins as I wanted the skin to be dyed to create the look of fuller brows. The only complaint is that it actually works too well..on my other brow I shaped it badly and even though I removed the excess within 30 secs there is still a shadow. Time will tell if it has any staying power.
Ok, so I’ve finally conceded the ft to the signs of old age. I’ve always looked about 10 years younger than my actual age from what many people have told me as my skin seems to be pretty good with few wrinkles…. But…… The beard is letting me down!
This product has a load of good reviews so I thought I’d try it and see if it would help keep me looking younger than I am
It’s very easy to use and actually smells very pleasant and not like the ammonia smell I’ve smelt from women’s hair dye! Just squeeze out a similar amount from each of the tubes and mix them well together. Use the brush to apply it to your beard evenly and wait 5 minutes.
The reason for the 4 stars is because after the first attempt, I could still see white hairs on my chin so decided to do it again and wait about 6 minutes.
After i washed out off it had definitely covered the Grey’s! And the Mrs was very annoyed that I got a permanent dye done in such a short time when she has to leave her hair dye in for 20 minutes
You can see the results from the video.
If you’re like me and want to fight the signs of ageing, give this a try
It’s bee put in the letter box and the package way all broke
I use this to dye my eyebrows and it works like a charm! I’ve had it forever and it seems to last a while so just one set of this dye could probably last you up to a year if you’re looking for something to dye your eyebrows with. Definitely recommend it!
This is the best product out there for beards, mostly because of the ease of use and the fact that you can use it multiple times with each purchase rather than having to use the whole pack at once with other products.
The only issue I have is that sometimes the coverage isn’t 100%, not sure if its because my mixing of the 2 tubes or something else, but sometimes after I wash the dye off there are still grey spots.
I use it to die my eyebrows the first time I did it I left on for too long I was so dark I got dark brown but it is black not dark brown but after awhile I get used to it I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my eyebrows it doesn’t last very long though but there’s a lot of product so it doesn’t bother me much another thing to note is that it stains so bad I got some in my carpet and some of my clothes does not come off very annoying
Qualified Hairdresser here so allow me to save your face from any nasty reactions.
This product is fantastic but you have to apply it correctly but before doing so you MUST do a patch test but looking at the negative reviews quite a few people are not bothering with this.
To do this – mix a very small amount (pea size, equal parts) of both the peroxide (the white creme) and the colorant (the dark liquid) together and apply a tiny bit to either the crease of your elbow OR just behind your ear.
Ideally you should leave this for a day to ascertain if you have any kind of nasty reaction (burning or stinging), it may not happen immediately so you have to be patient but it’s worth it if it saves your face blowing up like the dum-dums in the pictures on the one star reviews who skipped this step.
After 24 hours (or 48 if you want to be really sure) has passed as long as you haven’t had any reaction at all then you’re good to go, rinse off any residue from your elbow or behind your ear and pop some cotton wool up each nostril to avoid breathing in the odour that the color lets off.
Mix equal parts again in two straight two inch lines into the tray, mix together with the handle of the brush and immediately apply to the beard. Define your borders and keep your lines sharp.
Once you’ve covered your beard its super important to comb the color through, getting the hairs deep into the beard allows much better coverage.
Wait 5-10 minutes max, rinse off and wash with designated beard shampoo, any staining can be removed with a little milk and cotton wool.
Once you’re done you can remove the cotton wool from your nostrils.
Now it’s just up to you how you shave your neck and cheek lines.
I hope this helps you.
This beard and moustache colouring is so easy to use and gives excellent results. The dark brown is a great colour, without looking too dark or fake. I have been using this brand for a while and will continue to do so.
As with all dyes. You are advised to use a small amount on a test patch of your skin beforehand. Just to be sure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. Some men, do not necessarily read or comply with instructions because they already know everything there is to know, can’t be bothered or are superman and 100% certain that kryptonite is safe for them to rub over their face. Then to show how intelligent they are, they post pictures of themselves with a burnt and sore face.
Gents, it’s a lot simpler to do a small test on a patch of skin on the inside of your arm. It may save some degree of burning, embarrassment and facial reconstructive surgery.
Highly Recommended. Buy with confidence.
I do not receive any payment or free goods for writing these reviews. I am just happy to share my views on my purchases with fellow like minded Amazonians in the hope that you may find it helpful.
I use real black normally, but dark brown black is also good. I use this once a month just to confuse people. The darkness lasts roughly 2 weeks. Depends on the rate of growth of your hair really. Note- I’ve not experienced the reactions to skin some people post, so all I can say is some people are more sensitive than others, so I wouldn’t go on the negatives here.
I’ve been using this about 4 years and am happy with it. It works and doesn’t irritate (my) skin, although I see from other comments that it can do so test before using. Colouring lasts about 3 weeks before new (grey/white) hairs start to take over and also as the colour fades. I tend to use Vaseline on the neck and round the ears to help stop skin dying when applying – with care you can focus the dye on the beard rather than the bare skin around it. Also be sure to wear gloves (those supplied or any thin glove) when applying otherwise you will temporarily dye your fingers/nails.
Regarding darkness, the longer you leave it on before washing it off, the darker your beard will be. It takes me about 5 minutes to apply the dye mix, if I immediately washed it out the beard is still grey. Wait another 3-5 minutes and it will be an even, dark brown. Wait another 5 minutes and it will be darker but any spillage onto bare skin is harder to wash off the longer you leave the dye in, hence the Vaseline can help.
Finally, use colour-protecting shampoos and conditioners which may help to maintain colour longevity.
Hope this is helpful.
This beard dye is great for covering grey hairs and it works in no time at all. A few minutes and your back to being dark and handsome – or at least dark in my case!
Easy to mix, like any colour just mix 2 solutions together and apply. I managed around 6 applications in total on a short but full beard, when my beard is longer it doesn’t go far in honesty but could probably get 2-3 out of a medium sized beard length.
The only downside is it can stain your skin easily, I’ve found it’s best to dye it on an evening when I can give it another scrub in the morning. Washing with conditioner can help. I haven’t tried the Vaseline technique as it’s a bit of a mess trying to work Vaseline around a decent beard but after washing out & washing the next morning it isn’t noticeable.
For anyone having reactions to this dye – READ THE BOX – ALL HAIR COLOURS TELL YOU TO DO A SKIN PATCH TEST 24hrs BEFORE USE! Plastering this all over your face without doing so is on YOU not the dye. It’s always better to be safe!!
I have a light-reddish beard with quite a bit of white in it. I tried Sandy Blond (the lightest colour) but it was just too subtle to colour hide the grey fully. I then tried light brown (the second lighted colour)… Wow, it changed my beard to a very dark auburn! A bit too dark! Thankfully, the colour fades over the course of two weeks, however when you dye your beard again, because you hair already has residual dye in it, the hair goes darker still! So, to get a better, more natural match, when it needed dying again, I mixed 50/50 Sandy Blond and Light Brown and the colour is just about right (see the pictuess accompanying the review which shows the colour after the third time of dying and after it’s had a trim).
The Just for Men website has a colour match tool so you can select the correct colour, but trust me… go much lighter than you think you need and if necessary dye your beard twice with the same colour rather than risk selecting a colour that is too dark and having to shave your beard off because it looks like you’re wearing a disguise! Most beards a a slightly different colour to head hair anyway, so a slight variation isn’t going to matter.
Leave the dye on for the full five minutes and no more – the cream will gradually get darker and darker as the minutes go by, but don’t panic, leave it on – and make sure you mix in enough of the developer otherwise the colour will not last. When you wash the cream off the beard will look lighter than the cream did, but afterwards the hair will appear to go slightly darker still as the dye is exposed to the oxygen in the air. Again, don’t panic. The colour will soften over the next two days. I dye my beard on Friday night and it looks fine for work on Monday. If it still looks too dark, washing it with bar soap will make it fade out quicker.
And finally, you must do the sensitivity test as instructed 1-2 days before otherwise you’re risking a severe allergic reaction.
I was apprehensive at first going straight in for the black, being dark brown but showing a bit lighter when the sun shines. It really does go black and diminish the greys, I didn’t have a lot but enough to notice on the chin at age 30. This has given my beard a brand new look, it does look thicker, and it does look naturally dark. Although some people say it doesn’t stain the skin beware, it can be removed with acetone and a cotton bud easily but it does still stain, I only managed a couple of missed bits. I currently have a 1.5″ ish full beard and dabbed mid chin between the natural goatee lines and near to the ear on the natural curve but the other half got it off no problem. The brush is nice and firm and the liquid gel is thick and doesn’t run, just make sure you remove your top to avoid staining just incase. Overall damn impressed, it was a bit dark after around 7 minutes including time to paint full beard and time the 5 minutes recommended but had a high fade hair cut and some wet look wax in and it matches near to perfect. Out of the two tubes of colour and mixer I’ve probably got left another 3 maybe 4 uses out of one kit. 5 days later and showering morning and night I’ve got no fade so don’t expect to be re-doing it for another week at least dependent on further growth. Just make sure you brush frequently if you have a bit of length and do your best to avoid ingrowing hairs and it’s all good. Avoid use if any broken skin or spots too. No negative reaction, I’d recommend and will use it again.
