My Dad really enjoyed making this, shame there were three pieces missing, the pole with the ball on that the flowers attach to, there were 3 missing and no spares which was rather poor for Lego and frustrating, but my dad managed to make up and adapt a piece to hood the flowers in place.
He has also done the Orchid Lego piece, great Father’s Day gifts
Buy one looks good buy three and it looks fantastic.i did and boy it does
Bought as a present but just as advertised and a great addition to my friends lego botany collectio
We put this together on a rainy Sunday afternoon. It took two of us around three or four hours, with many cups of tea and cake along the way and some prolonged singing detours.
As we’ve all come to expect with Lego builds, the packaging and instructions are immaculate. The box artwork is great and the actual instruction booklet is a joy to follow. If I had only one gripe – The instructions have some details as to when some of the more unusual pieces were first introduced in the Lego range. It would have been nice to read a little more context and perhaps include pictures of those kits too. It’s a little gripe, but something I think Lego collectors would appreciate as the instructions are a triumph in and of themselves.
So, on to the kit itself. We had fun building this. One adult with a bronze swimming certificate and a much smarter teenager, we found it straightforward. Although some of the build is quite fiddly and I wouldn’t recommend this for little people. The colours in this kit are really nice. The autumnal hues are lovely and it’s very reminiscent of old dried flower displays. It’s quite harvest time and a bit Halloween. From a distance it really does look like a dried flower arrangement from your grannies house. Although some of the bouquet parts are moveable, the finished piece is quite delicate in places. It doesn’t like being moved around too much after you’ve built it, so it needs to be displayed somewhere a bit sensible if you’re going to leave it out. The finished build is about 40cm long, so nice and substantial.
The Dried Flowers set arrived packed in it’s original presentation box. In the box I found building blocks sets packed separately in a numbered bags with manual included.
All together set has 812 pieces.
Pieces are small. This set minimum age stating 18+ – as an adult I spent 1,5 hour to assemble them properly.
Blocks fit together without any problems. They are durable and sturdy.
Manual is detailed and mainly with pictures. Step by step with manual you can go through building this flower set.
This set was a great entertainment for myself. I can advise to open one each packet a time and avoid mixing.
Colours of the blocks are looking more likely like a real dried flowers.
I can highly recommend this building kit for flowers lovers , it’s perfect as a gift as well and can replace a real flowers.
Awesome product!
his is a very functional beautiful lego set. it was very easy to assemble the instructions were very clear and the quality was amazing. this is a focal piece in my house and I am always getting compliments for this item. I cannot recommend it enough. Definitely worth the investment and A must-have for anyone in the market. Great value for the price and I’m so happy with this purchase.
This is a decent build at 812 pieces. It comes with a very clear and comprehensive instruction booklet which is easy to follow. It looks great once built and can be used as a decorative item.
It is great quality and the price is reasonable and comparable to other products on the market.
I am very suspicious to talk about this product since I love lego and I have 3 from the botanical collection, it is a beautiful ornament and the process gives me a lot of satisfaction. The instructions are simple and for those who are already used to assembling legos and not too complicated for beginners. Perfect gift idea!
This gave me something different to do and kept me busy for a while. The finish product is lovely as well. I love the colours!
The construction of this incredible Lego flower arrangement was a lot of fun. My younger years were brought back to life as I worked through the activities described in two excellent books that contained illustrations that were both clear and exact.
It was quite easy for me to keep track of where I was in the process because the Lego parts were carefully packaged in seven different individual clear bags. In addition to that, there were some extra pieces included in the package (yay!). Just in case I needed them.
It took me a little under 5 hours to finish the full arrangement, which is quickly becoming my new favorite way to pass the time.
After a stressful day at work, I found the procedure to be really therapeutic and peaceful, and as a result, I’ve already chosen the pieces for my next set.
The colors are stunning and wonderfully autumnal; in fact, they are so autumnal that they almost made me want to make a pumpkin spice latte and get into the spirit of autumn completely.
On the other hand, I’ve opted against mounting it on the wall since I want to show it off to the members of my family and friends who share my passion for Legos.
At 41.99 (at the time of reviewing), it is quite expensive, but pretty typically-priced for Lego. It did provide many hours of entertainment, the quality is great (as Lego always is!) and it looks really stunning in the middle of the table, now that it’s finished. I liked that there are different options for how you want to display it at the end, but we went for the standard one, and are really pleased with that.
Overall, recommended. Make sure you have plenty of time and patience though (or a 7-year-old!).
I was pleasantly surprised by this kit. The Botanicals range from Lego has never really appealed to me but this looked like a more fun take on the idea. It is really clever how standard pieces have been repurposed to help you make a rather Autumnal looking floral display piece. The only pieces I came across that I have never seen in a kit before (and I’ve built a LOT of Lego) are the outer petals for the rose.
The build is a little fiddly and I did have a few instances where bits fell off whilst trying to attach a section to the base. This was particularly with the sprigs of white flowers as they are little towers of green cylinders and I found that it was all too easy to catch the flowers and knock them off. Probably just down to me being a clumsy, sausage fingered fool but they do need a bit of care. Most of the background foliage is mounted with ball and socket joints so there is a degree of posability.
Part of the build is to put two loops in so that you can wall mount the piece. To be honest I wouldn’t recommend wall mounting as Lego is a complete dust magnet and I can only imagine the cry of despair when you knock bits off during dusting and they disappear under furniture.
In the clear instruction manual (there are 2 for this build – 1 for the right hand side and one for the left hand side) it advises you can get 3 of the kit and build a wreath. Each kit also comes with a small build for a right angled bit that allows you to join these sections together to make the wreath.
I will only be building the one and I have to admit it looks good in the middle of a small table in the bedroom. Certainly better than a dried flower display and no worries about pollen from live flowers setting my hay fever off.
This was a great build and although I split it over a couple of days I really enjoyed getting it all set up. Great use of pieces (the propellers for the large maroon flower and the minfigure epaulettes for the small orange flowers get a particular shout out).
Number Of Pieces: 812
Approximate Price Per Piece: 0.06
Build Time: 2 Hours
Too fiddly for me but the person I got it for loves it as it’s such a quirky decoration. More suited to Autumn this one obviously but start now and it might be finished by then! I’m joking of course, unless you’re like me and too impatient to sit there for hours following detailed instructions.
Lego are hoping to break into a new target market with this range, it might just work!
This is a Lego dried flower set with 812 pieces aimed for the adult target audience.
Things I liked:
– split design so 2 adults can build independently
– good quality lego bricks
– realistic flower design
Overall, the finished results can be displayed around the house as a decorative piece.
This Lego Dried Flower centre piece is such a lovely alternative to the regular Lego sets you get these days. I love doing Lego with my kids and helping them with their sets, but I only get to do a small amount so I jumped at the chance to test this set in return for an honest review.
In the box you get 2 booklets which contain all the instructions you need to put the set together. There are 7 individually numbered large bags containing the Lego, and within some of those bags, are smaller bags which contain the smaller pieces of the set. You also get a handy tool to help put the Lego together if you struggle to press them tightly, or even if you put wrong pieces together the end of the tool helps separate them, which saves your nails! My only grumble, and the reason why I gave this set 4 stars was the pages of the booklets every single one of the instructions on how to put the pieces together were printed on a dark grey background. For me as some of the pieces, and overall look of this set are darker muted colours, I did find it difficult to read the instructions especially with the smaller pieces, and having helped my kids do numerous Lego sets it’s much easier to follow when the instructions are printed on white backgrounds.
There are quite a lot of very tiny small pieces in this set, and it is aimed at 18+ for that reason, I wouldn’t suggest leaving around with little people for that reason, or even dogs who tend to pick up anything. I do have mild arthritis in both hands, and some of the tiny pieces were a little fiddly, but they weren’t much of a problem.
I managed to get through bags 1 and 2, and the section that I did make that I have shown in the photos took me just over 1 hour with no interruptions. I love that you can have it as a long centrepiece on a table with just this box, or add another box of the same and create it as a more circular centrepiece with 4 sections as shown on the back of the box. You can also hang it on the wall as it has hanging holes built into the set which I have also shown in the photos, which makes a fantastic idea.
I would have gladly given this set 5 stars if it wasn’t for the grey background in the instruction booklets.
I’ve never seen Lego Like this before, so unusual and unique!
Typical quality from Lego, love the colours, makes this look almost like real dried flowers, great gifting idea for anyone who loves Lego and creating, it’s absolutely stunning, would look lovely as a centrepiece or on the wall but I think because of its intricacies I would have it in a glass display cabinet or something that will keep it dust free, because it wouldn’t be an easy piece to keep clean.
Beautiful and price is good at 42.99
I really like the idea of these Lego flowers. I’d already tried the wildflower set and loved putting it together, so was really looking forward to this one. This set was a bit more fiddly and it was also a bit mor frustrating. I found the instructions a bit difficult to follow – it wasn’t always clear where the pieces were supposed to fit. So much so that when it came to putting the two sides together, I couldn’t. I had placed some of the pieces in the wrong place. This was quite frustrating, especially as I only realised at the very end. Of course it is possible to take apart and reassemble, and you might also blame my poor lego building skills, but I did find the instructions challenging, and more difficult to follow than other lego sets. It does look good, perhaps a little bit old fashioned, but it’s a nice idea, and makes a talking point for a table centre piece. The lego tool that comes with the set is useful and I had to use it for some of the smaller bits.
I think I would recommend this, but with some caution that the pieces are a bit fiddly and the intructions could be better (at least for less experienced builders.
This is currently priced at 42.89 and although I think the cost is alot, I think this piece is stunning when finished!
This is currently on display in my home and it is simply beautiful. Everyone comments on it when they visit.
This is definitely one for the adults to do, as it has really small pieces and is very fiddly, at times I have found this very challenging but I didn’t want to give up! It is a piece that becomes quite addictive and you just want to see the finished result.
This would also be the ideal gift for anyone who loves building lego /bricks.
Highly recommend this simply because of the end result.
Absolutely beautiful!
For years I was an avid lego nut but I haven’t done anything for the last 20 years.
This set is fantastic, I didn’t even realise you could get such items to build. I will be looking at others in the range when I have finished this. It is such a fantastic set with decent instructions. I cant recommend this enough to give to an adult lego fan, or for someone younger to give as a made up gift even! I will add photos when ive finished it, but you can get a good idea from the ones already submitted.
This Lego flower set is definitely a little challenge, but one that ends in great results. The set comes in seven bags, and of course the usual book of step by step assembly. It is marked for 18+ which feels fair, as there are lots of intricate parts. It took two of us (one of us a complete Lego novice) a casual 2 ish hours to do. The colours are kind of autumnal and quite natural, which we quite like as it gives it a more natural mellow look than bright plastic. We plan to keep this out in display at home so the colours work well. This is great to do as a couple or pair, as it comes with two books and you can each work on your own parts but do it socially, which is nice. It also comes with wall hangings and a bracket that you could buy more sets and make a bigger piece, but we quite like it as it is. A nice conversation piece for home.
This is a lovely alternative set for grown ups who wants to construct Lego that can be proudly displayed and complement their home decor. I’ve found this set to be enjoyable and well designed. And the end result is rewarding. It’s expensive to extend the set but I like how though was given so you can build different styles display pieces.
A wonderful botanical collection, a nice LEGO idea.
Dried flowers can be arranged in different styles: display them on the table, hang them on the wall or even with multiple sets you can combine them into an extra free arrangement.
With the fall colour scheme, I wasn’t expecting the release date to be in the winter season.
But having said that, the Lego brand doesn’t miss a beat. Extraordinary quality and realism.
Very nice in my room
Some bits did frustrate me – the petals on the flowers were a little loose and kept falling off.
I had lots of spare parts (and some odd pieces that didn’t look like they belonged in the box!)
However, I must say the outcome is so pretty and worth the time to make!
This is a gorgeous Lego set.
We are huge Lego fans in our house so thoroughly enjoyed making this Dried Flower Centrepiece set up.
It is made up in two sections, with an instruction book for each half, then joined in the middle.
It is going to look fantastic on my dining table for our family Easter lunch.
It measures approx 40cm x 13cm.
Superb addition to our Lego collection.
