I am not a huge Lego fan however, am a petrol head I decided to purchase a couple of kits of which this was 1, and what a great kit it is the detail is amazing and the colours quite striking, it now sits in my office on display, do not hesitate go grab this one you will not be disappointed! 10/10 love i
This is a great medium size set for children. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and the quality like always with LEGO is fantastic. Would recommend!
Bought this as I love Porsche. Great build, but only let down by the amount of stickers you have to apply. Best to really take your time applying them and you will have a very nice model indeed. Get the stickers wrong and they won’t come off very easily at all.
Bought for my 6 year old grandson. Instructions are so good he made without help!!!!!
Another great model in the Speed Champions series – the detail on this Porsce 963 are impressive and the build is fun to complete. Some of the sticker placement may need a bit of adult help to get right, but otherwise I’d say the 9+ rating is spot on. The box art is really good on this particular set too. Good for display or racing with other cars in the series.
This is a nicely detailed model based on a Porsche 963. It’s a fairly in-depth build, with quite a few steps for a small model. It didn’t provide a huge challenge to my 13-year-old son who completed it, probably taking around twenty minutes to complete. There are a number of stickers that require a careful, steady hand to apply, which would make it unsuitable for younger children. There’s enough interesting pieces in here for the imaginative builder to add to their own creations. My son is more of a ‘build it and display it’ Lego fan though. With the addition of a minifigure, this straddles the line between model and toy; it can either be displayed on a shelf, or played with like a toy car, depending on the child (or AFOL!).
The Lego set arrived safely, and it comes nicely packed in a well-illustrated retail box, in typical Lego fashion. This model number 76916 Porsche 963 Le Mans set is part of the Lego Speed Champions series and features 280 pieces. It is aimed at ages 9 years plus.
Building the set was a fun experience and I found it to be a nice relaxing process as the bags are all numbered, and the instruction guide was easy to follow. There are also plenty of decals to be applied, which are also numbered. Not only are the pieces high quality and well detailed but the car looks fantastic. You even get an extra set of wheel trims in case the originals go missing!
I don’t think there is a part of this car that I don’t like, every area has been well thought out and the car looks fairly similar to its real-life version, any fan will recognise it straight away. The rear wing and diffuser look amazing and they’re my favourite piece of the model. The only thing I would have liked improving is the decals which could look a little better as they don’t join up very well along certain areas of the car like behind the side windows and on the front arches.
The included generic racing driver minifigure is actually nicely detailed, I really like the Porsche racing suit he is wearing. His hair can be swapped out for a helmet when he goes racing, and the spanner accessory is a bit random, but it sort of keeps with the racing car theme I suppose.
Overall, taking into consideration the licencing costs I think this set represents good value for money as its nicely detailed, looks great, and it would make an excellent addition to any Porsche fans collection. It’s a set I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel four stars is appropriate for it!
First impressions were good, it comes in a nice branded Lego box which is aimed at older kids as the set is age 9+.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow, which made the building process smooth and enjoyable. Saying that I’m not a big fan of having to stick stickers on toys so that was the only downside, personally I prefer the Lego bricks to have the designs printed on them already but I guess others may like doing it themselves.
The end result was a pretty realistic looking Porsche model, which also comes with a driver mini figure.
Overall, I thought this was a fun build and the model looks realistic so I’d happily recommend it.
This is an impressive Lego set, it has a great set of instructions so it’s relatively straightforward to put together – and it looks brilliant when it’s finished. It’s mostly made up of small detailed parts, but it’s still great fun to build – it’s aimed at the 9+ years age range, that would seem about right but mums and dads may need to help in places. There are lots of stickers which need to be applied, it’s best to do this as you go along – it can be ‘challenging’ to get them right so time needs to be taken over them, a pair of tweezers are handy for this. This really is a joy to build and it looks great on display – highly recommend.
A beautifully made Porsche car Lego which comes in an attractive box.
It makes it easy to gift ,so would make any fan of Lego and especially Lego cars very happy.
My hubby loves to do legos and the little one kinda picked it up from him hence this came as a well desired toy for both of them to play 🙂
Wishing the box ,there are few bags with Lego bits and some stickers ,which will need attached to make the car more realistic.
Clear instructions are provided ,as usual and for used hands ,this can be build quite easy.
Once build ,this car can surely be added to the collection ,if you got one as it is indeed a gorgeous model.
Overall ,this is a good Lego and it definitely worth the money.
This LEGO Porsche comes attractively boxed. Inside the box are a couple of bags of LEGO pieces, instructions and stickers. The instructions are nice and clear as I would expect from LEGO. When built, the scale is just right for play, as the cockpit seats a minifigure (a driver is included) and the car can be raced against others in the Speed Champions series.
I’m a big Porsche fan and the model itself captures so much of the 963 that I really can’t fault it on the design, it looks beautiful and it was great fun seeing it come together. I was a little disappointed though that so much of the detail was left to the stickers rather than printed on the pieces. I guess this keeps costs down but there did seem like there were a lot of stickers for such a small model. The smaller ones may be tricky for younger children to attach though, I found them a little fiddly myself but I do like everything to line up perfectly.
Overall this is an excellent LEGO set that will appeal to any petrolhead young or old, it certainly makes me want to try more in the Speed Champions range.
LEGO 76916 Speed Champions Porsche 963 is simply gorgeous to look at; the shapes, the details and the colours are all so vibrant and mesh together perfectly. It recreates the stunning design of the real life model as it has authentic features: a low hood, cockpit, rear wing and fin on the back are sure to delight race car fans. Lots of stickers though, except the windshield which is printed.
Owning a Porsche is still a pipe dream for me let alone the Porsche 963. And this replica is true to the original piece, forget about letting my boy build it, I’ve had numerous hours of me-time recreating the dream of being a mechanical engineer – albeit building Lego. But we can all dream and this replica car is top quality.
This is my first Lego Speed and I have to say this set version of a Porsche 96 is a thing of magnificence! The car was an amazing build and looked wonderful on display in our living room. Overall experience was incredible for a smaller piece. Great little set – would definitely recommend to those who are classic car fanatics!
A ver good miniature replica. The build is simple, but we found a little issue with this model.
The windshield is a little tricky to keep intact. Its attached by a single stud on the bonnet, so like us, if you have little ones who wish to play with it, you may be forever refitting the windshield.
It comes with a large amount of stickers to make it all the more realistic which little ones may find challenging in placing neatly.
Better for display, than actual play.

I started buying speed champions for my 11 year old stepson last year. This new rage features some of the existing cars, and some new models. He doesn’t yet have a porsche so his was a great addition to his collection.
He built the model fairly quickly, i’d say 1-2 hours. A 9 year old could easily make this with minimal or no supervision.
There are a lot of stickers to add to this model. Younger builders might need a bit of supervision with these, but my stepson enjoyed putting them on and it was nice that he was able to do the whole model himself rather than having pre-decorated pieces.
The speed champions models are retailing for 19.99 currently, which I think is good value for a lego model and certainly an amount i’m willing to pay knowing he will have the enjoyment of building the car and displaying it. He doesn’t play with them quite as much now, but being into stop motion he quite often uses the cars in his films, so I know it will get used.
Overall, good lego model at a good price.
This is a good sized 280 piece Lego set targeted for 9+ year kids. Overall Impression – The box looks really attractive and the colour of Porsche 963 is also very good. You get two bags of Lego pieces along with instruction set and lots of stickers. Instruction set is very easy and clear to follow. My kid was able to follow the instruction with ease and was able to make this car all by himself without any adult intervention or help. Yes there are lots and lots of stickers to put on but my kid was super excited about it. I must say he did need some help putting the stickers on as he wanted them to perfectly placed and not have creases on the car. Once made, the car looks exactly like the full sized Porsche 963. You also get a mini figure along with this set. Size of the finished car is okay for the kids to play with.
Overall I would say that this set is a must buy for any LEGO fans who would like to expand their car racing set collection. Quality of the pieces is absolutely great. Pricewise I would say it is reasonable for a set this size. Would make a lovely birthday present for young budding LEGO car racer fan.

Good amount of pieces, easy to assemble with the help of the manual and my son now proudly presents it in his bedroom along with a few more. The box comes with 280 pieces so it’s not a ton but still gives you a good amount of build time. Cool set and can’t wait to get some more in the future!
