Bought as a gift so can’t comment on inside of box.

Beautifully illustrated, well constructed and thought out game. Have played several times with my family and everyone is looking forward to playing again.
Set aside a good couple of hours on your first play through to familiarise yourself with the rule book. It’s not the most complicated game but it’s certainly no cluedo!

My order arrived so fast from the UK and even over the weekend. Good thing the game was affordable from a discount because shipping was almost the same price of the discounted item. Otherwise everything is good, quality of the product is just amazing – great colors and feel of every part. Now excited to learn how to play this boardgame.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomeness in a box

We are still learning the rules – slow on the uptake! But the counters, timer, cards and board are great to look at so that we can play with themwhilst we inwardly digest the rules – so excited to have a game about ghosts!

Received this as a gift from someone (from my Christmas list of course) I have wanted it for so soo long, and now I have it I neeed to play it, but with all this lockdown I haven’t had the chance yet. I couldn’t resist opening it and looking at all the beautiful components, I know we will have so much fun playing it, I have watched it played many times. Excellent service received the next day. Love i

The game is super fun, suitable for all ages and easy to learn. It is entertaining for the whole family and it is a lot laughter trying to see into the mind of the ghost!

It’s a great co-op game! Playing the ghost is frustrating as you can’t talk to the psychics about the visions you gave and sometimes they follow the wrong lead – this makes it quite entertaining. The instructions are lengthy and took time to work out first time but you can play the game its great.

Bought for my sister birthday, everyone enjoyed it and a few others went on to buy the set for themselves. Not too long either and it’s great to have a game where everybody works together.

Amazing choice of game, we played with a large group that were all new to the game- one of them is 12 and the others first language isn’t English but the both of them picked the game up easily which is a testament to it! Great for a laugh and replay able time and time again.

Very entertaining, especially if you all embrace your characters accents. The game is simple and fun, I recommend you go the extra mile, playing by candlelight and having the ghost player only knock to communicate to really create that seance vibe. The cards and accessories all look good.

Brilliant game, we’ve played this a number of times and bought the expansion packs. It’s like cluedo with a seance and a ghost. Playing with different people it’s fun to see how everyones interpretation of the vision cards are different. Love the spooky soundtrack you can download too.

    Very fun 2-7 player game.

I like abstract games, and this one scratches that itch.

Similar in style to Dixit, using artsy cards to try and convey a message to the other players. It was fun being the spirit giving out the cards and receiving them. Seemed to have outlasted Dixit as well, although afterany playthroighs we are starting to figure out which cards work best, so maybe the expansion would be a good idea.

All in all, very fun game. Wish the instructions were a little better out together, but doesn’t distract from my enjoyment.

Brilliant game. Played 3 times in a row on day of opening then again the next day. Played 2 games on easy with 5 players then went straight for difficult with 6 players. Brilliant fun, challenging but not frustrating. Loved the team work element and just as fun to play both roles in the game. Elements of Cluedo and Dixit but also completely unique. I’d buy this in so many versions if they were available!

Don’t expect deep strategy or complicated game play, but If you’re feeling creative and can immerse yourself in the theme you’ll have a fantastic experience and get a strong insight into how your friends and family think. Definitely at its best when played with 4+ people. Make sure to listen to the sound track that accompanies the game to really immerse yourselves!

It took a little while to get our head round the rules, but once we got it, it’s great. Add some spooky ghost music and get your ghost to only communicate in knocks and clicks, you’ll have a grand old time

Great game bought as a gift, we as a family love this board game. A bit different from the usual. Amazingly beautiful and thought provoking art work on the cards. Love the size of the cards, game pieces etc. Well made. Good strong box.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA wonderful game that is carefully made and with such beautiful attention to detail on all the artwork and pieces. Can be a little complex so a few practice run throughs without the timer might be best before playing the game as intended with friends but nonetheless very interesting and perfect for anyone who loves games of deduction like cluedo but wants something a little different.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersThis is such a great game, I have played a few times and all of the people we have played with have wanted to play again straight away. The set-up takes a bit of time the first time you play but after that it is very straightforward. The most enjoyable aspect is being able to work as a team and discuss the clues, or to play as the ghost for a completely different challenge. Great game & I would definite recommend. We also downloaded the ‘soundtrack’ and downloaded an app soundboard of spooky sounds which added to the atmosphere!

This game is so fun!! I watched the TableTop episode before ordering, and then spent hours playing with friends, taking turns being the ghost. We laughed so much, and luckily we also won every time—it was a satisfying and fun experience. Can’t wait for the next time I have friends over, to convince them to play with me!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWe bought this game after playing with some friends and it’s awesome! Everyone we play with loves it but they always want to be the ghost next time which is a lot of fun. It takes between 45 minutes to an hour to play and is best played in a gloomy room with mystic music playing in the background (it really sets the scene). The game can be difficult at times and the setup is longer when you play it for the first time but once you get used to it then you can setup a lot faster. All in all a great game and highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSuch a weird fun little game! Have played it a few times now. It’s fristrating as the ghost to have so few vision choices. We might shuffle through a dixit deck to see if I can find some images to widen the options. Most regular board game group I meet up with is 3 people… game works best with 5-7 so not ideal.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI think you can say that Mysterium is Cluedo (aka Clue) with a supernatural twist. The game has a lovely presentation and the theme chosen is carried throughout the game. Setting the game up, as the “Ghost” can be a bit difficult the first time but totally worth the effort once the game gets going. Cooperation among the players playing as “Mediums” is encouraged. The player playing the Ghost dealing out clues, cannot communicate with the other players verbally but only via the vision cards that make part of the game. Overall a fun game, highly recommended.

Fantastic game, even my 6 year old has fallen in love with it and wakes us up every morning wanting to play it. It is easily one of the most beautifully designed games I have ever seen and although, on the face of it (or as some ‘fan videos’ will make out) it looks difficult it is in fact very easy to grasp. Would recommend to any fans of Cluedo or lateral thinking puzzles.

A bit hit over Christmas in our house! Something really different to anything we have played before and easy to get the hang of. New players were soon engrossed in the mystery and trying to guess the ghost’s clues!

The box is lovely as are the contents and everything is of a high quality. I’m sure it will be coming out many times at family gatherings in the future too!

This was purchased as a birthday present for a close friend but I have since played it with him. The art is incredibly beautiful and it is a fairly simple game to understand the rules of, but, in my case at least, less simple to actually play depending on what clues you are given to match your cards. I think this depends on the skill of the person giving the clues, however, so I can’t really fault the game. Over all, if you enjoy table top games you can’t really go wrong for the price. My friend assures me it is well played and loved between him and his partner.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo I recently played this game at a friends and had to add it to my collection. The artwork is very appealing. The game play a little confusing, but once you know what you are doing, it’s a great game. I played this with a large group of people, but will be playing it 2 player soon.

My only issue.. how it was packaged to me.. I’m all for keeping the box intact, but felt the excess of shredded paper was ridiculous.

Mainly because I spent more time cleaning up, than setting it all up. (The paper clings to everything)

Otherwise it’s a good game, just takes some getting used to; and if you play with someone who knows the game already, even better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game, just very messy (?)

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA great board game for those who enjoy interacting with other players and trying to solve a mystery.

My mum has always loved detective games and Cluedo is one of our family favorites. Mysterium might just dethrone the classics – it has everything needed to be a mainstay in our home, and the expansion packs can only enhance the experience.

This is a fun game. It’s quite visual based with the one person giving clues based on their interpretation of images on various cards. I’ve only played it once so far and enjoyed it but I wonder if it gets a bit samish once you’ve played it a few times and discussed all the possible interpretations of the images? It also helps to know your fellow players well as it helps you to guess how they might interpret the various images. I did like the discussion element of the games as all the players are involved pretty much all of the time. My only negative is that it is quite expensive.

Great game, the rules seem complex at first but it’s actually very simple in concept so very accessible for players of a wide range of ages / levels of interest in board games. It’s a cooperative game and there’s not a lot of strategy so possibly not one for hard core board games fans.

Fantastic game. Hard work for the ghost, played it about 5 times on Boxing Day.
Players need to remember the ghost only has a few cards to choose from to give you a clue they will not be specific to the person/room or weapon. Definitely over 13 year old game we were all over 16

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI chose this because it’s a co-operative game without highly intricate rules. We found it cleverly designed and fun to play but surprisingly difficult and it took much longer to complete a game with 5 people than I expected from reading the reviews. It’s best with 4-6 people. It has similarities with Dixit, which I think has the edge as it is simpler and just as challenging and entertaining.

It’s moderately easy to learn. It will take a few minutes to grasp and it’s worth looking online for a video although the instructions are reasonably clear. The first video I tried was very poor but the second was excellent. I don’t think I’m allowed to put urls here but look for the one by Shut up and Sit Down (not the one by Roll for Crit).

We have enjoyed playing this game, it is interesting and intriguing.
We recommend it to anyone, who enjoys mystery and psychological games.
Cards and the design of this game are amazing, drawings (may not always be clear) but they are very artistic and creative.

Very good game in general. We have had 4 players and I think it is sufficient but the more the better 🙂

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersa really fun game to play even with 2 people. of course the more the merrier because it involves trying to guess personalities and what others would think but works just as well with 2 people.
the material and the prints on the cards and the board are of amazing quality and beauty, just looking at it is enough

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMysterium is currently our favourite. We enjoyed Dixit quite a lot before but we favour Mysterium to it as the theme and the purpose of solving something adds a great deal more to it. We also prefer cooperative games to competitive ones as we get along quite nicely. For our group, it is on the levels of Forbidden Island or Pandemic in terms of enjoyment. It is said to be a mixture of Dixit and Cluedo which I agree with, however I never really liked Cluedo much other than the idea of it – but Mysterium has a clever way of making players really think through the game..not to mention the challenging and ingenious addition of the ghost player. Highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersPersonally I’m not a fan of cluedo… it’s a game of rolling a dice waiting for everyone else to do the same… then maybe you get to a room and ask a question…. but then you have to roll again and wait for your turn……
On the surface this seems simular. Your trying to find a person object and place that a person was murdered. What makes this so good is that one player plays the victim and communicates through visions… which in this case is a load of random cards that whilst are beautifully drawn look like the artist has been on some intoxicants.
The ghost will try and match the card they give you with the person weapon or place they want you to guess. They will then give one to your friends who are also trying to guess… a completely different card. This is all done at the same time, even better, your on the same team so your team mates can help you.
The main reason this game is so good is that the ghost can’t speak at all…. the frustration of watching someone pick the right card only for a friend to say “are you sure its not this one?” And then they pick something completely different is hilarious.
Basically this is a fix for cluedo and as far as I’m concerned everyone should get it. It’s a great family game and because it can accommodate up to 7 players it’s pretty good for groups too.
