This Webcam is really good nice and small it can fold up ao good for storage if your not using it all the time and the picture quality is good and not too bad in low light.
Bought to replace one from another maker which quite often failed, I did not realize how bad the other one was until I used this one! Its all I need for Zoom calls, works well every time.
I had grown tired of my laptop camera and wanted something that didn’t break the bank but did a good job. After some research, I settled on this little C615 device and I’m very happy I did. It’s a major upgrade on my laptop’s inbuilt camera.
Works extremely well with most applications EXCEPT for some bizarre reason Logitech’s own apps which on any of our family’s PCs don’t recognize it as a video source!
The cable is ridiculously short: barely 55 cm, which is nowhere near enough to reach from a tower desktop under a desk to the top of a monitor. Needs to be at least 1.5 metres in normal use.
Pros:
Full HD 1080p/30fps video
Widescreen HD video calling
Foldable design
HD Light Correction
Autofocus
Noise Reduction
Compatible with Skype, FaceTime, Hangouts, PC/Mac/Laptop/Macbook/Tablet
Cons:
None that I have found
Overall:
The Logitech C615 Portable Webcam is an excellent webcam that offers great image quality and performance. The 1080p video is clear and sharp, and the Widescreen HD video calling is perfect for video conferencing. The foldable design makes it easy to transport, and the HD Light Correction and Autofocus ensure that you always look your best. The Noise Reduction also helps to reduce background noise, so you can be heard clearly.
I have been using this webcam for a few months now, and I have had no issues with it. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality webcam.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Recommendation: If you are looking for a high-quality webcam that offers great image quality and performance, the Logitech C615 Portable Webcam is a great option. It is also very affordable, making it a great value for the price.
Here are some additional details that I would include in my review:
The Logitech C615 Portable Webcam is very easy to set up. Simply plug it into your computer and you are ready to start using it.
The webcam comes with a variety of software features, including HD Light Correction, Autofocus, and Noise Reduction. These features help to ensure that you always look your best and that your audio is clear.
The webcam is compatible with a wide range of devices, including PCs, Macs, laptops, and tablets.
Picture quality isn’t perfect. It’s good enough for teams and to talk with friends but not streaming or security purposes like facial recognition.
It is a great camera tho. You can see clearly what you need to! The reason for my purchase was for teams meeting and it works perfectly fine that.
Product as described.
Brilliant mic on it to
Bought to join in on discord calls with friends who live far away.
Used it for about a year now and the quality is pretty good. It can clearly see the full rook and adjusts itself to bright and dull lighting. The colour balance can feel a little off and lacking at times but outside of that it does the job.
Have had some applications repeatedly default back to the built in mic over my headset, and the quality for that is very tinny and blown out at times. (Usually if I’m loud, cough or somone else is in the room making any noise) but I’m sure in a quite room with the correct settigns it would be more than adequate for most business, school etc.
All in all it’s a very decent webcam and does all I need and the mic is good enough to be a backup if my headset ever fails.
Just be aware the clip thing it attaches to a monitor with may not be suitable if you have a thin bezzle like my monitor, but I just clipped it over my graphics tablet instead and remove it when drawing.
Love:
Nice form factor. This sits unobtrusively to the screen and doesn’t overlap, even with 3mm bezels I have on my monitor.
This has been sturdy in place without need for adhesive, doesn’t move and won’t wobble
The blue light when it’s in use is a good feature!
Sound quality is good enough for a web cam, picks me up nice and clear from over a metre away
Image quality is acceptable; comes across more like 720p imo
Used as a temporary solution on my new Laptop until built in Camera which was faulty was fixes!
Very good results possibly better than built in Camera on new Asus Laptop.
Good but loses a star for the incredibly short cable. I know it’s meant to be portable but all these types of cameras are so it really could do with a longer cable.
This is a really old webcam. In fact unless you want to spend a fortune on a webcam, there seems to have been no progress at all for the last 15 years!
Well, this one works – and it is well supported with out faffing with drivers etc.
Not great quality, but for joining quick work teams call, it works great.
This is really simple, plug and play and gives a faithful representation of the person sat in front of it. I’d previously had one with a wide angle lens that made me look weird. Prices for webcams had been ridiculous during the pandemic but have now started to return to the level of sensible and 29 seemed a good price for this one – with Logitech being an established and respected brand name.
I bought this primarily to help with directing and playing online bridge. The picture quality seems good though I will have to wait a bit before being sure of the sound (which is only mono anyway). However, the USB lead is very short; too short to reach from the top of my monitor to the back of my PC tower on the floor, as I had to use a USB extension lead. I would love to tell you the actual length of the fitted lead, but I am not crawling underneath my desk again and detaching the device to measure the lead. Less than 2M is all I can give you!
Camera is small and sturdy, the stand is well designed, a good camera for the price. Initially the sound worked fine but then stopped [using Windows 11] a silent driver update was the cause, rolling back the driver fixed the issue. The USB cable is a little short, I used an extension lead https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001QWU5RE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Make sure to read the print on actual video quality. Whilst 1080p for recording the stream is only 720. Definitely not a top end camera but does the job better than my inbuilt laptop camera
All great except that why does Logi short change me with a shorter lead than my other two webcams, less than one meter!!!
Would not recommend this webcam solely for this reason.
I have tried to get this webcam to work on a Macbook M1, with no luck. The image is vastly over-exposed, even on a dull day in February with the shutters closed on my office window I have tried three different software applications to fix the image quality to no avail.
The least said about Logitech’s support the better. In trying to fix the issue it became apparent that the problems with Mac OS are well known, but Logitech doesn’t seem to care enough to help. Their website didn’t even recognise the serial number of the device.
Amazon’s return service is, as always, top notch.
Bought this webcam as my surface pro does not allow me to tilt the screen down and therefore, I get awkward angles when on a video call. I am a trainee psychotherapist so wanted something reliable with good video and sound quality that would cope for hour long video-calls. The fact I can tilt it works great for me, so I can now sit more comfortably during a call. I can either have it sitting on my laptop, clipped on, or use a tripod stand – so many options! I bought it at a discounted price, I don’t think I’d have considered it at full price as I wasn’t looking to spend loads on it.
I needed a webcam since my laptop doesn’t have one built in and my Logitech Stream Cam is way too big and heavy for a laptop. This C615 is very portable, smaller than it looks on pictures, cable is not too long and the lens are protected when it’s folded up so it great for travel. The picture quality is great, autofocus is fast and the microphone is more than good enough. I think very few people need anything better than this, unless you want to stream professionally. Much cheaper than a C920 or 922, but the difference is barely noticeable. Great overall, I recommend it.
Bought at its lowest price, really nice built and nice quality. It can be rotated to any angles that you want. The quality of the webcam is ok and the mic is surprisingly not bad as well. However the cable could be a little bit longer but overall a good webcam to buy.
Good quality picture and easy to set up. Sound not tested as I use a separate speaker.
Reason not given five star is due to the camera sits loosely on top of monitor as clip is not of the spring type just adjustable ‘c’ shape.
I bought this to sit atop my monitor for video meetings and for use as a microphone to my 2020 M1 Mac mini running macOS Ventura 13.0.1. Installation was simple (just plug it into one of the USB-A USB3 ports and the system automatically detected it. I then used Settings to tell the OS to use the microphone and the camera as the default. Did a few tests with it to a friend and job was done.
The video and audio quality are extremely good for such a cost effective camera. Zero problems using it in frequent video calls.
This is a very nice camera. The swivel feature is good. But my PC tower is on the floor under the desk so the cable does not reach. So had to buy a USB extension cable too.
I was expecting a resolution upgrade in moving from my 720P Logitech webcam to this one, which is rated 1080P, but the images really look just the same. That was disappointing. However, for the price this is a perfectly good webcam.
During lockdown I started teaching and tutoring at home. This meant that i needed a camera. This had good reviews and was reasonably priced. It is easy to set-up (just plug it in and your off). The sound quality is great, never had any complaints with it.
The camera can be a little fuzzy at times, however that could also be the environment that i am in when using it. However, it isn’t really a problem for simple video calls. Anyone wanting to use it for something more professional may want to invest in something better.
I bought this for Teams etc on my office PC and it performs very well using a captive cable terminating in a USB-A connector. FYI It uses USB2 not USB3 but 480Mbps is easily fast enough and the video & audio quality are excellent.
However in this day and age, I would prefer webcams to come with a mechanical shutter which I had to buy separately, costing ~ 10 which was quite a price hike from the ~ 20 cost of the camera itself! Next time I’ll try to get one with a built-in shutter.
Our son has been unable to return to school due ongoing health issues and trying to carry on using an iPad for online video work was impractical.
Knowing Logitech make reliable hardware and this camera offered a good Full HD image from other reviews we gave it a try.
It works brilliantly on his older Windows 7 i3 small form factor PC with a Samsung 32″ TV monitor as a display. It was plug&play and worked with easily every video call service we have needed (Skype, Zoom, MS Teams).
He is able to join in his classes easily and it is easy to position on top of the TV monitor to give a natural view when he is sat in his wheelchair or adjusted for other positions too.
It is so easy to connect we can easily move it to our PC temporarily to use for online appointments with health care teams and other such requirements. We have had no issues with video or call quality, and it folds up and stores away safely when not needed.
Excellent value and highly recommended for anyone who needs to chat online.
First of all, the video quality is fantastic. As is the sound. The camera and mic are both orders of magnitude ahead of those found in smartphones, tablets and some other webcams around the same price point that I’ve tried.
My issue with it comes with the plastic the camera is housed in. The Q&A section on Amazon would have you believe it the cable is 2m long based on a *seller* comment. Another puts it at 1.5m, and a third puts it at 1m. It’s actually ~90cm from the end of the usb head to the camera and not entirely straight point-to-point so take a couple of cm off for placement. I wouldn’t have bought it if I’d known the cable was this short. Unfortunately, I need to use it first thing and don’t have time to return and source another.
Another issue I have with the product comes from the manual on Amazon. It shows the USB cable as a separate piece of hardware. This isn’t the case; it’s sealed into the back of the camera. If you’re working with tight space limits – and many might be with a 90cm wire – it’s very easy for the slightest touch of the wire to move the camera on its, admittedly impressive, 360 axis.
The camera itself does the job nicely, the quality is good, but if you’re looking for exceptional picture quality then I’d go for something higher than HD.
Good Points:
– Good folding feature so it packs away nicely with the lens protected
– Secure fitting on my laptop
– Decent picture quality
A few downsides:
– Cable is fairly short at about half a metre or so
– It is very zoomed in, I have to push my laptop way back when using the camera so my face doesn’t take up the whole of the screen.
So about a month ago my Company sent me a huge 34″ widescreen monitor to help me work from home (I’m a Technical Consultant who needs to attend a lot of video calls). The problem was that to use the monitor at its best, I have to keep the laptop it is attached to closed, which means I can’t use the laptop’s built-in 720p webcam. The Company would not supply me with an external webcam because laptop has one built-in so I decided to bite the bullet and buy myself a cheap one. How lucky I was to find this Logitech C615 on Amazon. Almost 15 cheaper then the lower model C505 while its on the current special offer. Installation? No problem, just plugged it in and Windows 10 recognized it straight away and even had the drivers already installed. Picture quality? Great! at 1080P full-hd it is better than the laptop’s internal 720p webcam by a long way. Great auto-focus as well. I wasn’t worried about the mono microphone as I use a headset for calls. All-in-all a fantastic buy!!
