The mouse is used for the various avian and geneology aricles that I write and has uncluttered my desk. I cannot comment on battery life as I have only had it several days. It is more sensitive but I am working on that. I do not game.
I have been looking for a “quieter” mouse and came across this little gem. I was a bit sceptical at first, as in “how quiet can a mouse be?”. The truth is, it is a revelation! I have used compiter mice since early 80s and this is by far the quietest one that I have ever come across. When I say “quiet”, I mean the clicking sound – it is barely noticeable, and the feedback given when you make a click makes you feel that you have made the click, rather than hear it, though there is no trickery involved but that’s how good I think this is! Otherwise it is a pretty basic mouse for browsing and general use but great at what it does.
Odered one and returned it, as USB receiver seemed to be missing from the packaging. Ordered another, and it arrived in diferent (transparent) packaging. Again, space for USB was empty! Was about to return it when I read a review which said “search for receiver inside mouse” – and so it was!
Clever packaging, but it might be helpful to thick people like me, if it was made clearer on the outside.
Very happy with it otherwise.
My previous mouse was a logitech, but had run out of steam, or may fluffed up. So after a lot of research I chose this. I thought my last mouse was quiet, but this one is silent. Nice soft click, and an efficient wheel. I use my laptop on the sofa and wanted a mouse that would work on a soft material surface. Happy to say this mouse works well on fleece type material. Cannot comment on battery life as it says up to 18 months. Though have to admit it bugs me when they say upto an amount. I want to know things can be at least an amount, for example something may say up to 100%, well of course, so should really say at least 75%. So in this case I would like to know the battery would last at least a year, up to 18 months could be 1 day! That is my only gripe.
My M125 still works (thank you Logitech) but it we have been friends for a very long time now and time takes it’s toll… Have given it to the 14yr old nephew so will find out how well it can take abuse in due time. At this time and a few hours use by yours truly, it operates as expected, feels robust and returns jerkiness free controlled fine movement. Again, thank you Logitech.
It has a quieter click and is easier to use than many other mice. Getting rid of the cable is a wonderful thing but this could be a security risk so be aware of this if you work in high security areasyou would need to check first!
Sometimes this mouse is available for half price (about 12 instead of about 22) which makes it a bargain.
Battery has a very long life, more than a year for me.
I don’t usually write reviews, but for some reason I’m having a break from work today and I’ve written about 10 on the go. This is the first thing I’ve given a five star review too. It’s just so nice to not have a dongle clogging up the USB port it just immediately appears turns on without any delay even if I have the mouse switched off within a second of turning it on, it’s connected to my MacBook. The buttons make a reassuring click that is almost inaudible. I like that it is as comfy to use left-handed for me, and it’s not just designed for right-handed people . Scroll wheel sounds a bit rickety on upward motion, but not when moving it down, but that is a minor gripe.
Ordered this for school when my laptop keypad stopped working. I had another bluetooth mouse, but I was always embarrassed to use it during class, as it would make clicking noises and I worried I distracted other students. This one is completely silent. Easy setup and works well.
While the Logitech M220 SILENT Wireless Mouse offers many advantages, it’s essential to consider a few potential drawbacks:
Basic Features: Some users may find it lacking advanced features like programmable buttons, adjustable DPI settings, or additional customization options commonly found in higher-end mice.
Right-Handed Design: The M220’s ergonomic shape is tailored for right-handed users. Left-handed individuals might find it less comfortable to use.
Limited Connectivity: This mouse uses a USB receiver for wireless connectivity, which means it consumes one USB port. If your device has limited available USB ports, this could be a drawback.
Not Ideal for Gaming: While the M220 offers accurate tracking, it’s not designed for gaming. Gamers may prefer a mouse with higher DPI settings and additional buttons for gaming-specific functions.
Battery Indicator: The mouse lacks a battery indicator, so you won’t receive a warning when the battery is about to run out. This can lead to unexpected interruptions if the battery dies during use.
Not Rechargeable: Unlike some other wireless mice, the M220 uses replaceable AA batteries. While they last a long time, it’s not as environmentally friendly as a rechargeable option.
No Bluetooth Connectivity: This mouse relies on the USB receiver for wireless connectivity and doesn’t offer Bluetooth connectivity, which might be a preference for some users.
Despite these cons, the Logitech M220 SILENT Wireless Mouse remains a reliable and affordable choice for those seeking a quiet, comfortable, and straightforward wireless mouse for everyday use. It excels in providing a pleasant user experience without the bells and whistles of more advanced mice. Over all product is very nice
I recently purchased this Logitech Mouse for my laptop. This is an excellent mouse, very responsive and comfortable shape. I have had several Logitech equipment in the past and always found them very reliable.
I tended to favour Microsoft mouses over the years but in the last 5 or so years the quality control has deteriorated too far.
Logitechs were always reliable and I usually had a few in my workshop. The rubber sides of this one are very useful and I acquired it for a lady customer who is left handed. These models of Logitech are truly ambidextrous and, if anything, quality has improved a lot since 10 years ago.
Resounding recommendation.
I’ve gone through several mouses in the last two years, all of them USB and underperformers. I thought to try a cordless one that would be compatible with my lappy’s Bluetooth.
This is an awesome little thing. There’s a reason to choose well-known branded items, this Logi M240 is a good example. It worked right out of the box, no fuss no bother. A settings menu popped up after being switched on, and displayed a few personalisation options that make mouse control much easier; the choices were zoom function, an emoji dropdown, and cursor sensitivity. It also has an update function. The use is responsive and smooth, my cursor goes where I want and instantaneously. I had my doubts, but it definitely IS silent; oh joy!! I don’t know about battery life as I’ve only had it a day, but it will probably have a decent amount of longevity if I can just get used to turning it off when not in use. Aside from being a well-known brand and recommended by a lot of tech reviewers, this one was suggested by one of those reviewers as a good fit for people with smaller hands. It does fit my very small hand although, if I were to be involved in the design process, I would have opted for a lower profile as the heel of my hand is slightly elevated from the mouse pad -a good reason to be thinking about a wrist support bumper. I like this very much. And by 2128, when I need another mouse, I will get another from Logitech brand.
Already had this small wireless mouse at home before. Wanted a second one for the office. It is even more silent and smooth than the first one (a little older). Article perfectly matches my expectations as Logitech always guaranteed quality.
This mouse is really super quiet. If you’re like me and easily distracted, you will appreciate not hearing ‘click click’ all the time when you’re working. Logitech is a reputable brand you can trust – I have had other items from Logitech over the years and they have always been reliable.
I got the mouse in dusty pink, which matches my office chair and my desk cover.
This mouse also comes with extra features for Microsoft Teams – such as unmuting your microphone by clicking on the centre wheel. Do that at your own peril though – I found that I had unmuted myself during an important call. Luckily I hadn’t said anything and someone let me know before I did or said anything embarrassing!
One final thing to note – the mouse is battery operated. It comes with a battery already (a single AA), which is rare these days. If you prefer a rechargeable mouse, then this one might not be right for you.
PS – I haven’t used in gaming so I can’t comment on that.
The main feature about the mouse being silent is mostly accurate, the mouse clicking on either side of the mouse is better than most, but the scroll button is no better than a standard mouse, so if you do a lot of scrolling, this won’t be a silent mouse.
In terms of the mouse feel and use cases, this mouse is light, small and fits nicely for people with slightly smaller hands, and the mouse doesn’t feel too cheap for the materials used within this price range.
My only major problem would be the tracking for gamers, most of the time it’s fine, but the lack of constant tracking is noticeable for games like League of Legends and Apex, but if you play more Story mode games then you should be fine.
A little small for my bigger hands although can use comfortably enough for short times. 2nd Logitech mouse on the desk – family with smaller hands more than happy with it.
I bought one of these to replace a HP one I used with my laptop that had finally failed after being dropped too many times. The M220 is comfortable in the hand and very responsive. I’ve already dropped it a few times and it still works. The only games I’ve played have been strategy games (turn-based and RTS) and it’s fine for those. I’ve had it for several months and haven’t had to change the battery yet.
I originally tried this mouse buying it in the set with the silent keyboard as I was noticing during work-from-home lockdown my then keyboard was extremely noisy typing during meetings! I did some research and found these logi silent items, and while not totally silent, they are super quiet and more than did the job.
What I wasn’t expecting though was to find my fav ever mouse for usability as well! I’m a left handed so more than use to mice feeling a bit wrong but still useable, after using a computer for 25 years you just get use to it! But this one just feels right, it is actually symmetrical rather than having curves that suits a right-hander more, and a bit smaller than your average mouse so your hand fully encompasses the whole mouse rather than just part of it. I’m not much of a gamer so I’ve never tried the really fancy 100’s pounds mice, but I will be stocking up on these for future use!
I recently purchased the Logitech Silent Mouse and it has exceeded my expectations. As someone who works on the computer a lot, I was looking for a device that would allow me to work in silence without disturbing others around me. This mouse is the perfect solution to that problem.
The silence is remarkable, and I can finally work on projects in silence without worrying about waking up my family or roommates. But the mouse is not only silent, it’s precise and comfortable to use, even for long periods of time. The ergonomic design fits perfectly in my hand, and the buttons are easy to click without being too sensitive.
The battery life is impressive as well, lasting for weeks before needing a recharge. And the plug-and-play feature makes it easy to set up, without the need for any additional software or drivers. Overall, the Logitech Silent Mouse has made my work and leisure time much more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a noiseless, efficient device for your computer, I highly recommend the Logitech Silent Mouse. It’s the perfect solution for noiseless computing.
This is a really great product Logitech. This simple product comes with three easily recognisable components — namely a mouse, a battery and a USB receiver.
The battery goes in the mouse and the receiver goes in the USB port on your device. What could be more simpler to work out how it works considering that the majority of us customers – only need to read and follow the ‘instructions’ – when all else fails. Lol.
With this product — it is only after you have already opened the packaging that you discover the tiny USB receiver is actually missing!! What a disappointment!!
This realisation is long after and before you get to read and follow the instructions which are hidden within the depths of the packaging. You also begin to realise you cannot return the product to Amazon because you have no evidence to prove the USB receiver is missing!! Good eh?
I can’t believe that I’m the only one on this planet who bought a Logitech mouse and didn’t know you could store the tiny USB receiver inside the mouse?
Since writing this review and reading the product details – it does clearly indicate you can store the USB receiver in the mouse – obviously wasted on me – but it does say the USB can be shipped with the USB either inside or outside the mouse. The product is fantastic. My ‘opening the package experience’ was not entirely fantastic. As for the many other negative customers who have poorly rated this product – how unfair and misleading it was for me to read when potential customers like me rely on genuine comments.
