A game for 3-8 people where you have to guess a word based on clues from a partner. The clues can be other words, or drawings, so it really works for people’s strengths and can mix up different approaches to making clues.
It is for 14+ although older teenagers might find it easier, and the scoring can get complicating. The guessing can be really funny though, as people giving the clues think they are being really obvious but the guessers just can’t work out what the word is!
For less than 5 (at current price) this is a really great value game.
Our group of friends enjoyed this game. It was a lot of fun guessing who you were partnered with and the interpretations of the prompts. It’s a quick game to play with a group of friends when you don’t have a lot of time or simply want easy fun.
I bought this for my son for Easter he’s 14 years old and wasn’t interested but my 3 year old daughter loves it to just doodle on and then wipes it away
Partners in Crime is a very enjoyable drawing and guessing game. it’s very easy to learn how to play and I think it’s suitable for anyone over the age of 12.
The idea is that you need to identify the person you’re partnered with i.e another player with the same word that you have. In every game there will be another person with the same words as you.
Once the shuffling and dealing has finished … each player looks at their word card and then tries to draw something that let’s the other player with the same word as them realise that they are their partner. Here is the tricky bit … your drawing mustn’t be so obvious that the other players who are not your partner can get it.
The scoring in this game is quite confusing as many other reviewers have mentioned. I needed to read the instruction to couple of times I got the hang of it
All in all a very good fun game perfect for groups of people, parties and gatherings.

Fun interactive game.
Traditional family fun, will be used in earnest at Christmas dinner.
We do like the analogue games, always good for a laugh.
The “Partners In Crime” game is an addictively fun drawing and guessing game, somewhat akin to Pictionary although with more fun and hilarity involved.
First off, this is honestly an absolutely brilliant game! The entire family loves playing this. It’s absolutely suitable from say twelve-years-old upwards. I have twelve-year-old twins, and they think it’s one of the best games.
The rules are really simple. It takes just a few minutes to understand the rules and realise the clever subtlety required to play the game well. Furthermore, using your best poker face and keeping EVERYTHING close to your chest is essential for a win.
The game is so much about knowing how the others’ brains work. How they think outside of the box. The clues they’ll leave for their partner in crime.
The only slight drawback about the game is the scoring. Surely there’s a better and simpler way to explain the scoring than how they worded it within the “How to score” section?! Luckily there’s a QR code on this page which links to a video which explains the scoring much better than the instruction manual.
Aside from the ridiculously articulated decision tree — the rest of the game is absolutely superb. It’s so much fun playing with friends and family and all ages can really enjoy it. Furthermore, the more people who you can play it with the better — as you then get multiple partners in crime to guessand a load of different sketches.which usually creates hilarious results!

It’s a very interesting game to play to see if your partner can sync up with you sometimes you can work well together sometimes you can’t but that makes it fun. Overall happy, once you know how to do it, it is simple.
fun table game for the whole family . easy to understand instructions and easy to play 🙂
This is a fun board game that can be played by 3 players or more. If you have more than 8 players, you need to split into teams rather than playing individually.
Essentially it’s like a more complicated Pictionary, but unlike Pictionary everyone gets to draw on every turn, which makes it much more fun. You have to draw your assigned word in a subtle enough manner that you can alert the person with the same word as you that you are partners, but in an obscure enough manner that nobody else will guess you both had the same word. This can end up being really funny when the results are revealed!
The game is well made and I especially like that you get wipe clean whiteboards and markers, rather than having to use up loads of paper each time.
The only downside to the game is that the scoring is quite complicated, and it’s a shame they didn’t make the scoring system quicker and easier. Great fun once you get the hang of that part though!
This game is great fun to play with older children or friends on an evening or a rainy day. It comes in the box with full instructions and is very easy to understand and play. It doesn’t take too long but you can play multiple times.
I didn’t think this game would be as fun as it is! The resources that come with it are of great quality and look amazing – everything you need is in the box, including the whiteboards and markers.
To play, you get a word (this word can be shared with another player or you can be the only person with that word), then you draw that word. HOWEVER! You can’t be obvious, but it has to be related enough so your partner (if you have one) knows that you two are working together – that’s the fun part! Trying to figure out what everyone’s else’s drawings are and whether they’re teamed up with someone else is hilarious.
Most people playing were teenagers and adults but we did also have a 9 year old play, and his drawings were arguably better than the rest of us and so so funny.
The only thing that was a little difficult was the scoring but we had the scoring card out at all times and asked the questions on there to everyone – understood it after 3 rounds!
You need a lot of sneaky creativity and a poker face to do well but I would very easily recommend! It’s now a family favourite.
I recently took this on holiday with my family and we played this one night before my 9 year old niece went to bed. She absolutely loved this game and found it really easy to pick up and play. You do not have to be the best artist in the whole world you just need to give it a try. This is a brilliant game and I would highly recommend it for all the family. 10 out of 10!!!!
This board game provides hours of fun for me and my friends. It is very easy to understand the rules. Instruction is short and informative. Also whats awesome, if you too lazy to read the rules you can watch them on youtube by scanning QR code on the instruction.
Basically, in this game you receive the word which you need to draw or write clue about. Then you see all clues of other players and your job is to find partners that have the same word. It is so much fun and laughter for hours. I highly recommend this game for yourself or as a gift.
I think this ‘ partners in crime ‘ game is probably more suitable for children over about eight and possibly young adults, as opposed to actual adults. The instructions are easy to follow, especially easy when if you watch the You Tube video instructions as we did. The game was played by four adults, all of which found the game ok but not that stimulating or interesting. If played by a family or group of both adults and children it may be more fun. The cards and box seem quite sturdy and the box isn’t too big.
Partners in Crime: A Mysteriously Fun Drawing & Guessing Card Game! Board Games For Adults! Do You Think In Sync? Can You Articulate? Family Games by Lucky Egg
The biggest thing this game has going for it, is the fact that you can actually play it with up to 8 people, before you have to start doubling up. Whereas a lot of other games are either for 2, 4 or 6 people.
The game arrived in a sturdy box, with clear compartments for each of the items you require to play the game. Making for quick and easy clean up and it keeps your pieces snugly together without risk of losing them when you are not playing.
The game itself is easy to understand can be explained to most people within about 5-10 minutes. That being said though, the game is designed for ages 14 and up, personally I would say this is on the lower end of the spectrum and I would advise ages 16 and up. Though that choise is yours of course. I mainly suggest slightly older players as the scoring can be a little bit tricky to understand, especially in the beginning.
Review:
This is a pretty fun game to play with friends that will generate some big laughs. It’s easy to learn and fun to play over and over again.
The instructions are easy to follow and the material quality is very good.
Unfortunately the price is a bit high ($40 as I am writing this) for a simple game like this. I really think this would be better suited around the $20 mark as $40 is quite excessive. Because of this, I would only recommend purchasing this on sale.
Pros :
Easy to learn
Fun
Giftable
Cons:

Conclusion:
I would recommend this product on sale
This is a game with simple rules, so it’s easy to play with friends, you don’t need to spend half the night trying to explain what to do.
Having drawing boards and wipe clean markers is such a good idea!
There’s a timer included, which adds pressure and hilarious results but you can play at your own pace if you prefer.
Scan the QR code for extra word cards!
Hope you found my review helpful
This is a great game kit however however if you don’t have a high number of players it’s harder to follow the instructions I decided to make my own game with this kid you can easily Play Charadeor pictionary. I made my own fun. Love i
This is a fun game that reminded me of Spyfall, if you have ever played that 🙂
Each player gets a scoring board, drawing board, and pen. There are 8 of each, meaning you can have 8 players play – which is a good number for a game, as many are limited to 4-6.
You then create a pile of word cards equal to the number of players; then add 2 if you have an even number of players or 1 if you have an odd number. Shuffle the cards, remove 2 if you have an even number of players or 1 if you have an odd number and then hand one card to each player.
That’s the setup of a round complete. Onto how each round is played…
Each player now secretly looks at the word on the card and the idea is for each person to draw or write something on their board that is obvious enough for any other player with the same word to put two-and-two together, but difficult enough for other players not to guess any link between what you’ve drawn/written and what the other person has draw/written. Of course, you will also need to rely on the other person’s clue (should there be another player with the same word) being obvious enough for you to guess.
That’s not it though. You then use the scoreboard to guess whether you or other people were alone and whether you or other people were in teams. There’s points up for grabs for any links that are confirmed or individuals you correctly guess were playing solo.
That’s the end of the round and everyone reveals their scoreboards and you begin going through and adding up points.
The fun is in the absurdity of the drawings people do or the words they think are obvious, but are completely obscure. Equally fun is when someone is sure there’s a link, but there’s actually no link at all! There’s sure to be lots of shocks, teasing and laughing. It’s a perfect example of a party game and we’ve had great fun with it so far.
I played this game with two other adult family members and, although it was enjoyable, the scoring system really lets the game down! It’s so confusing – we ended up just making our own (way simpler) scoring system and then we actually found the game much more fun and less stressful, when it came to scoring the round. Maybe after a lot more times of playing the game, the scoring would become more familiar but I feel like I’d have to spend ages explaining it to any new person playing the game!
Other than the scoring system, it was brilliant. Really fun and interesting, seeing what the other players had drawn or written on their drawing boards each round.
Happy to recommend because it is genuinely a very fun game and I do think it would be even better with more players. Brilliant for a game night or party.
Lots of fun to be had, though the title was a bit of a misnomer – there’s no crime involved. More of a thought projection and interpretation game.
This is a great party game which doesn’t require anyone to be a brain box and had everyone in stitches.
The premise is fairly simple. You need to find your partner and vice versa through drawing or writing clues but at the same time trying not to make them too obvious that the others can guess who you’re partnered with. At the same time you also need to work out who the others partners are.
It’s put together really well and the wipe clean boards and markers work well to allow replay-ability. Would recommend.
Not so easy to find a good game with up to 8 players. I love drawing boards! Great idea to avoid using paper sheets constantly. Markers are fresh and works great. Easy rules, a lot of word cards. You can use QR code to download the expansion for free! Or for lazy people you can watch instructions online. Very useful. Great little game to spend time with your family and have fun.
The Game is rather fun but I found reading the instructions a bit complicated and repetitive. I also found the scoring rather complicated.
As with all games, you end up improvising to suit the needs of all players and time and understanding which is what happened here a bit. Nobody seemed to get what I was trying to say when I was reading off the instructions and that in itself caused more drama and humour then the actual game. lol
It’s kind of like Charades but using cards and you work in pairs. I found it hard wrapping my head around the detailed instructions and scoring, BUT I find that with the instructions with a lot of games. Until you are literally shown how to play a board game, often the instructions can seem overwhelming and encumbering.
Overall, it is fun and always great to have on hand at a cottage, or camping or at home. Depending on who you are playing with, it can get quite funny especially if you’ve had a few glasses of wine. lol
This game is really fun, but has limited replay value. Though there’s really nothing to stop you adding your own cards or using the supplies for your own DIY version of the game, once you’ve run through all the cards. You should easily get at least 6 games out of this with sizeable parties, but even with more people you can have a few game nights here before passing it onto a family member perhaps, or putting it away until you’ve forgotten most of the word cards.
This game is basically pictionary with a twist. Each person gets a card, most of them are matched to a paired card that someone else has. (someone has a chance to get a solo card). Your job is to draw (or write a word that represents, but I dislike that rule and decided to leave it out) a picture that is vague enough to not get found out immediately, but clever enough to make your partner realise it’s the same. They do a good job explaining this, using a bowtie as an example for pasta. The other person could draw a spiral, for example. Then each person guesses who they think the ‘pairs’ are.
The only part of the instructions I found confusing was the scoring and the shuffling. I think it would be easy to get confused and shuffle them wrong. You’re supposed to shuffle them AFTER drawing the amount of the board, not the full deck! The scoring is quite complex, depending on who guesses what correctly, so it does take a little math and adjustment to get used to it.
Everything is good quality with a cute, bold, modern design. The drawing boards are cardboard, but very sturdy and reusable for a long time. The markers erase easily, draw smoothly and even when left on the board for a long time do not leave ‘ghost’ marks.
Overall, a really fun game, just with limited replay value.
Partners in Crime is an absolute blast. We played it in a group of 4 and were laughing the whole time. We played until we exhausted the whole deck of “Word” cards, then played it again the next day which is where it lost a bit of its steam. There’s just not enough Word cards included. I feel like it would’ve been a better idea to make the word cards significantly smaller, like 1/4 their current size, so that you could fit 4x the number of them in the same packaging. On the second play through I would frequently get the same words. It kind of stifles the creativity when you have to not only think of something clever to draw but also it can’t be similar to something that was drawn earlier. If you play this in a larger group you will exhaust the limited number of words even quicker.
So that is really my only complaint. The game itself is super fun to play, and if you are playing it with a new group every time it should stay pretty fresh. The box and overall presentation is top notch. The drawing and scoring boards are high quality, as are the dry erase markers with built in erasers. It’s worth the cost.
I’m thinking of making my own word cards (just simple print outs) to keep things fresh with the same group. If they included more word cards ( or even sold additional word decks?) this would be an easy 5 stars. But as it is, there’s just not enough words!
This is guessing game which involved drawing and using out-of-the-box (cunning) creativity to help win. The game package includes 128 cards, 8 scoring boards, 8 drawing boards, 8 washable marker pens and a hourglass (30s sand) timer.
Things I liked:
– no general knowledge skill is required
– can play upto 8 players (minimum 3 players)
– easy to start and learn the rules of the game
Overall, the more thinking “out-of-the-box” when drawing cryptic clues… the more fun the game becomes.
Me and my friends loved this game. Some rounds it’s easy to paid people but other times there are some clever pairings. The use of the timer adds an additional element making the game flow well. This will be a regular at game night, a few of my friends already asked me to send the name of the game so they could buy themselves.
This is quite good to play. It says 14+ but I reckon 10 year olds can have fun with it. It is great for adults.
What I especially liked is everyone gets a wipe clean board and pen with eraser. Much better than pads of paper.
Another great idea is the QR code with a link to a “how to play” video as well as written instructions.
My wife and I have been really happy with this game. We haven’t had much opportunity to see friends and do our usual board game nights thanks to the pandemic, but with more opportunities to see our friends now we’ve been looking for some new games for us all to play. This has been perfect for that!
This is quick and easy for people to learn. You can play with up to 8 players so you can get a fairly large group all together. The packaging and all the included pieces feel very solid in hand. We particularly like the surprisingly high quality dry erase boards that clean easy and have no issues with getting folded up or damaged.
This is kind of like a mix of codenames and taboo but with drawings all mixed together if that makes sense. The premise is as mentioned very easy to pick up, easy to execute and super fun. For the money this is a solid addition to anyones collection of party games, 100% would recommend!
This is a really fun game that is ideal for parties and gatherings. It is a whole new angle on drawing games with the twist of connecting with your partner in crime when you both draw the same word. Ideally you need a big group to play this, and at least 4 to make it worthwhile. It becomes quite addictive
Partners in Crime is a hilarious guessing game that provides lots of fun and laughter. You have to try and guess who you are partnered with based on your drawings. It is chaotic fun trying to guess what is drawn and if it goes along with yours or not.
You get white boards with markers which is much better than note pads that run out. It says 8 years and up, and I would agree as our youngest could participate easily.
Brought this game to the lake house to play with all my family and friends and boy did we have a blast. It’s so fun.
Essentially, if you had 8 players let’s say, you remove 10 cards (5 pairs) from the deck. You then shuffle them and remove two.
Everyone looks at their own card but doesn’t share it with others. You begin your drawing and the first to finish flips the timer. All other players then have 30 seconds to complete theirs.
You can choose to either draw something related to your word, or write a word that is related. For example if you had the word sushi, you might draw a fish or write the word chopsticks on your card.
The idea is that IF you have a partner (ie if someone else has the other card with the same word), they will be able to tell that you have the same card, but others at the table won’t know.
You have to guess who has the matching cards and who might not have a matching card at the table.
The scoring is a bit difficult but essentially just follow the yes/no questions on the instructions.
The cards themselves are thick and coated with a very protective plastic. It comes with dry erase markers and scoring boards as well as a doodle board.
It says 8 players max but that is just because the box comes with 8 doodle boards and 8 scoring cards. If you wanted you could play with 20 people and just deal accordingly, draw on paper and keep your score on a separate paper.
I highly recommend this game. It took nothing to get started and get the hang of it and it’s good for kids and adults.
This plays out similarly to how Telestrations does, but apart from starting with a word and drawing it the similarity ends there, it’s all about drawing something that you think would be easy enough for someone else with the same word card you had to guess is also their word card but obscure enough that people without that word won’t be able to guess the two go to together – you want to find the person (there isn’t ALWAYS another) that ended up with the same word you did based on the drawings, and you also want to guess which other drawings pair together. The game works well and it’s fun to play, but everyone we had gathered to try to play this kind of collectively got blank looks in their faces when it came to the explanations about how to score it, even after watching the “video instructions” available so prepare for that – or just play for fun which is the easiest way to just get started if you ask me.
The quality of the components is all pretty good, the box, manual, white erase drawing boards (dry erase markers included) and word cards are all well made, don’t feel thin or cheap. Generally, it’s better quality all around for a game published by a company I’ve personally never heard of before.
This is a really fun game! Can take it anywhere including dinner. The game is very easy to play, well thought out (eraser and marker together, small player board placed in a visually intuitive way, etc), and its so competitive. Definitely worth buying!
Being subtle is key to this game, you end overthinking every line you draw.
Very fun and very creative.
Me and my family were in stitches laughing with this game.
Played this for the first time last night with the in-laws and it was the funniest thing! (Add alcohol it multiplies the silliness). I would say it took most of the table a little while to pick up the rules etc and I don’t think anyone ever could remember the scoring system as it’s a little too complicated. So we ended up doing it without scoring and it was much more fun. A very clever game and it’s set up Really well with your own white boards, pens etc. I’d say it’s an average price for a game with this much included. Thoroughly enjoyed and definitely will play again!
This review is for Partners in Crime: A Mysteriously Fun Drawing & Guessing Game! Do You Think in Sync? Card Game for Adults & Teens $39.99
This game will be more interesting if you put a lot of thinking into it. The more people play it, the more challenging it is. 3 people would be very easy but still loads of fun. The maximum player is 8 – it would be chaotic though IMHO.
The only complaint I have is that there are not enough cards. We went through all the cards quickly and no as much fun when we used the same cards again.
