We absolutely love this film, it is so clever. The actress in the main role deserves an Oscar for that performance, she is on screen almost the whole film. We have now watch it twice, it didn’t seem to lose much seeing it again. Many extras including a half hour making of, which really opened our eyes to how clever this film really is. Buy It.

Good film. Very creepy at times and a bit sinister. Some predictable moments but overall enjoyed it and would recommend. Acting was great and the girl who plays Megan has done a great job! Recommended.

An intriguing tale of ‘fast lane’ parenting that gives a lonely girl a best friend, while more challenging aspects of the artificial companion begin to show themselves as this dark story reaches it’s conclusion.

It was alright, the scariest/most unsettling bits are in the trailer though. All the rest is just filler really.
Chucky would would win in a fight. Lol

Not what I would class as a horror film. Nothing particularly gruesome happens. That said, the film is very well done with a decent story. I was entertained by it and that is the important thing.

We are all being warned about how AI is potentially going to end mankind.
This film explores the greed of a large corporation producing AI toys to deal with the inconvenient needs of children while their Bestie Friends, (parents) get on with their own important agendas. Inevitably the child star is foisted by fate into the care of the childless single designer of these toy companions. Cue havoc, getting progressively worse……

I was dubious about this film .. but after watching was amazed ! It’s kinda a modern ‘re make of child’s play , however what makes this film amazing is the reality not only of Meghan herself but today’s modern technology and advances !! Definitely worth a watch. And the acting is really great the little girl and her ai robot (meghan) make it scarily real !!!

I really enjoyed the film. It’s clever and thought provoking but if this is what the future has in store it’s very spooky.

I did enjoy this tbh even though it was easy to figure out what was going to happen from very early on In the film.

Wasn’t sure what this film was going to be like. It was a bit of a strange concept but quite enjoyable and entertaining

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is not one of the greatest films for an exploration of all things about AI and robotics (probably better off with the 2014 ‘Ex Machina’ for something more serious). M3GAN though is pure Hollywood entertainment with a capital ‘E’ and it does deliver on that front. So the plot goes that a brilliant robotics engineer Gemma (Allison Williams) works for a toy corporation producing laughably hideous Furbie-like toys for her demanding boss David (Ronny Chieng). Out of the blue, Gemma is suddenly tasked with taking care of her 9 year old niece Cady (Violet McGraw) who’s been tragically orphaned. Having no real experience in looking after children Gemma struggles at first to engage with Cady so brings home her prototype work-in-progress AI robotics project in the form of M3GAN to keep Cady company. What could possibly go wrong? Apart from Cady hitting it off well with M3GAN darkly comic mayhem ensues as the prototype AI robot sets about protecting Cady from various threats with a ruthless machine-like efficiency. We see pretty much early on who are to become likely targets for M3GAN’s focus and they may as well have flashing neon signs over their heads saying ‘Victim’. The film is utterly bonkers and a couple of scenes do stretch the credibility a bit too far but as the film does not take itself seriously these can be forgiven. Highlights to watch out for include an unsettling brief dance sequence in a corridor and a hat tip to the original 1984 Terminator film that you’ll know when you see it

The UK edition Blu-ray includes 2 versions of the film; in the original PG-13 edited Theatrical release and the more bloody uncut ‘Unseen Edition’ rated age 15 and over. This Blu-ray region free release is in 1080 High Definition widescreen (2.39:1 ratio), audio formats are in Dolby Atmos, Digital 7.1 with subtitles also available in English. Picture and sound quality were all good with no issues on this review copy. A few extras on the disc include how M3GAN was brought to ‘life’.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is a brilliant work of a robotic art form in film, that’s not really horror, and could not be told comedy. LOW KEY Spoilers. beginning with a car accident 9 year old orphan. Now in custody of family member who just happens to be talented robotic toy maker, bit like Small Soldiers. The young Cady has to bond with the AI doll, by imprinting her fingers onto the doll palm to pair her. Megan thus protects Cady and sings her to sleep among other things. Trouble rears it’s head when the dog next door bites Cady. A boy in woods who’s nasty toCady shouldn’t have done so. Megan feels threatened whens transported back to the Lab where she was first created, that’s when AI becomes better than you. One for my BLUERAY collection when released. If you can imagine the Terminator as a little girl, you probably like it, I actually enjoyed this more than the mindless violence of Avatar 2, and for me a Avatar fan, speaks volumes. 15 rating is about right, fits in with today’s expectations. It’s not really horror, it’s hardly Sci fi as AI adult Girls already exsist for years now. It’s not comedy for sure, it’s a glimpse into the technical future we should be very wary about. I hope Megan said at the end,” Il be back”…. , ‘!!!! Great fun though.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersIs M3gan a great film? No. Is it entertaining? Yes! M3gan homages a number of other films – Robocop, AI, Aliens, Frankenstein, to name a few – and this adds to the fun. It is also very self-aware and knowing, e.g. M3gan singing ‘Titanium’! This is most definitely not a horror film, but is definitely worth one watch. Apparently the film was edited/refilmed to attract a younger audience (a PG-13 in the US) with the original shoot being far more violent and with a larger body count. Many sources suggest that “M3gan Unedited” will be the Blu ray / DVD release – let’s see. I did hope there might not be a sequel, but “M3gan 2.0” is said to be in pre-production stage, with a release date of 27th January 2025 already being circulated. Having made such a killing (pun intended) so far of ca. USD171m against a budget of USD12m, it’s no wonder the sequel is already planned!
