Tried a couple of garage forcourte s tyre inflators, none of them could match it,had a low pressure tye warning on dash, this was the only inflator that gave accurate readings and sorted it.!!!
They are critised for having to keep the trigger on. I just don’t know why that’s a big deal,to keep on top of your tyre pressures. Transits have a high tyre pressure it can handle it. It’s cheap, well made, no brainier buy i
Purchased to replace another well known make which had repeatedly broke down.
Onecreally good feature is once you’ve set the pressure it stays the same so you van turn it off and then turn it back on and the setting is the same.
Good value for a makita 18v – easy to use (shame no carry bag with it though). Doesn’t use much battery power and is very effective. Won’t be the cheapest of the similar items out there but hopefully is as robust as most makita 18v tools
Saves the faff with wires and long hoses which are always tangled if you have makita lxt items this is a no brainer just make sure that the tyre clamp only sits lightly on the end of the tyre valve before you clamp it otherwise air escapes when you remove the line
Great for topping up tyres. My BMW tells me to check tyre pressures every couple of weeks; It has a slow leak at the front right and a very over-enthusiastic and fastidious vehicle monitoring computer with tyre sensors. This makes it so easy to check, re-inflate and go. I’ve got several Makita tools so there is always a battery around and I usually take the pump in the car with me if I’m going on a journey. Its one of those tools that does exactly what its supposed to and does it well.
This inexpensive battery pump is absolutely amazing, it’s got me out of so many sticky situations. Car tyres, wheelbarrow tyre and even neighbours children’s football and with a built in pressure regulator. Easy to use too.
Wanted a cordless tyre pump…I have loads of Makita lxt batteries so no fear of unknown make batteries giving up the ghost rendering cheapo pumps useless..very pleased with it so far..just use a bit of velcro gardening tape if you don’t want to hold the trigger on..simples
Great value for money, if you already have a makita battery and you need an air pump then look no further.
Used on car tyres and bicycles, works effortlessly and in seconds…..a little noisy but that’s to be expected, overall a brilliant bit of ki
Absolutely cracking bit of kit for the price. It does what you’d expect, it doesn’t drain the battery much when topping up a tyre. I’m yet to use it to put more than 3-4 psi into a tyre, however, it is quick and easy. The digital display is good too.
It works very well on my cars and my bike. Quickly reaches correct preset pressure. We often don’t check tyre pressures because it’s a hassle going to the service station and finding one that has a pump working. This bit of kit makes the job easy and convenient. If you already have Makita tools then you already have the battery and it is definitely worth having, to add to your Makita tool collection.
I bought one of these Makita inflators as the cheap (other make) one I had before was playing up and I have other Makita power tools using the same batteries as this so I’m never without a charged battery. This has an on/off switch and also switches to adjust between bar and psi. I have pumped up all four tyres on a car with this one after the other which my previous cheap inflator would not have managed. It didn’t use much battery and didn’t seem to get hot although you are supposed to give it breaks to prevent overheating. Remember to register all Makita powertools within 30 days or you’ll lose the warranty. I’m happy with this purchase and use it often.
Only CONS I found
LCD is small and can be difficult to read the pressure type (PSI, BAR etc) But once you know them it is simple and the pressure itself is very readable.
You cannot lock the pump ON. You have to keep the trigger pressed, even though it has an automatic cut off when the correct pressure is reached.
Going to the garage is a bit of a faff right ?
And then the 12v inflators you plug in are super noisy and take ages. Plus the wire is annoying as you have to thread it through the car window or door
So this is perfect because there are no wires, it’s way less noisy and you don’t have to go the garage. It could not be easier to use and the build quality is spot on
The only downside is it costs more than those things
But if, like me, you have a slight addiction to makita tools and have emotionally and financially committed to their battery system, then this is an absolute BARG
