Malydyox Stair Gates for Baby, Portable Baby Gate

This was ideal for what I needed it for- not for a dog but for an elderly cat who had taken a liking to wee in the corner of a bedroom! Shutting the door was not an option as the room is at the back of the house and gets too cold even with the heating on timer as the thermostat is in a warmer room so clicks off before it heats this back room enough if the door is shut. Although it says on the instructions not to attach to a painted wall, I did as had no other option and was worried it wouldn’t stick, but it has done really well and hasn’t come unstuck either. Easy for my daughter to unhook to go in and out too and the cat hasn’t tried to get through it. I only used the top fixings as that was adequate as a barrier to stop him trying to get in the room and easier for my daughter to then unhook to get in, but it came with enough to hook in each corner plus a pack of 4 extra which is handy. The only thing I would say on this is that the piece of material is a lot wider than I thought it would be but I didn’t measure before I ordered mine you, so if you needed a tighter fit with no gaping, check the doorway size you want to use it on – Mine is a small doorway and the gaping at the bottom wasn’t an issue for me as was still a barrier which stopped my cat getting in. However if it was to stop a more agile cat or a dog, you would probably want a tighter fit, which I think it would be if it was a bigger doorway or staircase, but just to bear in mind if you are looking to fit it to a smaller doorway, check it isn’t going to be too big to get the fit you want for it to do the job.
