I love the design! They’re look cute and are super lightweight so comfy to wear. Sound quality is really good, but it’s a shame that they don’t have noise cancelling mode, however they do their job.
Bought these ,after seeing reviews.im a big classic rock fan and love the sound of the Mighty Who blasting out especially bought these to listen to Live At Leeds by the Who ,my wait is over for brilliant sound .
These are absolute quality. The materials used are top of the range feeling both sturdy and light. The sound quality is the best iv ever had in headphones. I’m hearing parts of music I haven’t heard before using other products. Highly recommended.
Most certainly the best h3adphones in this price range >90.
I had the skullcandy Hush Evo and the Marshall Major Iv gives much superior bass, treble and sound quality compared to the former. The look and feel of the headphones is brilliant and the battery life is an absolute juggernaut. A must have!
They are an addition to my regular and still great pair of AKG ones.
I got it because I do recognise the Marshall name and brand for its quality back from my teens growing in a communist country. Marshall speakers, guitar equipment was the thing, addition to your highly coveted flying V’s and Fenders. And I was in a band…. Just catching up with the past by purchasing the presence.
I got these for my sister, she has a smaller head than average so regular headphones always seem too big, these provide perfect adjustment down to the smaller size and the quality, more specifically the clarity is incredible, I own a vast array of high end headphones from many different brands, the sound from these is very refreshing. Easy recommendation.
If you like Metal, rock or any alt genre…this one is the right one for you. I used to own beats studio, they were only good with rap and pop songs..
Love them. Some sound quality . Excellent . So easy to work as well . Recommended
Then brand attracted me to them and they don’t disappoint.
I like classic Rock, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc and just as with their classic guitar amps they are the perfect companion to this genre of music.
Put them on sit back and enjoy.
Or get the broom handle out and jam with Page, Clapton Gilmour and Co.
After the small ones, the Major IV make my ears smile. Now I can hear what I never hear before.
The way of folding is only negative side of Marshall Mayor IV
These are fab, they are loud and great quality. Once I worked out how to turn on and off the bluetooth, they work every time. Very happy because these headphones don’t ‘dictate’ to me how loud they will go. They are made by Marshall (who have made amplifiers and sound gear for all the rock bands since the 1960’s).
Pros:
1 – Light & Comfortable to wear (I have glasses and hearing aids which is not an issue).
2 – FANTASTIC quality from the 3 sources I have used already (Phone, Computer and TV).
3 – Easy to set up and pair to devices.
4 – Adjustable and not tight on the ears.
5 – Being square not round I get great comments as they look unusual.
6 – It states no Active Noise Cancellation but I don’t hear what is going on around me so a definite bonus.
7 – The volume range adjustment is really good and a lot better than other headphones I have used. I set volume normally at a level of 75% whereas I am at 100% with others all the time.
8 – 80hrs playback between charges – I have not had to charge them yet and had them 6 days.
Highly recommended.
Cons:
None so. far – hopefully they will last longer than the others have time will tell.
Can’t recommend them enough!
Unfortunately for my fellow passengers, I didn’t realise this until after my flight home!
* Battery life is amazing
*Altough they say they aren’t noise cancelling they’re super loud so if you turn it loud enough then you’ll hear literally nothing
* The sounds very good (it’s not revolutionary but it’s definitely really good)
*The set up took 2 second literally
Cons:
* As all headphones do they will hurt your ears after a while but i have glasses and ear piercings and they don’t get sore super easily
* The only way to have the headphones connect on a call is if you use the wee toggle it comes with if you answer on your phone it won’t connect
Conclusion:
I think the headphones are great for the price and super recommend them to anyone wanting a good pair of headphones so yeah they’re great.
For being on ears they’re pretty comfortable, and I can’t hear my footsteps echo in my head when I wear them which happens for me with a lot of headphones. They feel really sturdy and I’m comfortable stuffing them into my backpack unprotected. The hurt my ears a little if I wear them too long, but they don’t make my ears feel ‘sweaty’. The sound quality is great, I’m not an audiophile but I’d say they match the quality of my AirPods Pro and my music sounds better from these than it does from the Bose.
There’s no noise cancellation, which doesn’t really bother me as I prefer to hear what’s going on around me when I’m out anyway and if I max out the volume I can’t hear anything else anyway. May not be best for my hearing health though. Also the ear cups don’t swivel. Ears are not flat against your head, they’re at an angle, and I figure that’s why they start to hurt after a while. Also if you put them round your neck it means the cups won’t lay flat like many other headphones do, which can feel a bit obnoxious because they’re right there in my face. The controls can also be really tricky, and it usually takes me a few qoes before I manage to even switch them on.
Despite all of the faults, I kept them because I wanted something I could just stuff in my bag without worrying they’d break and they fit that.
Nothing bad to say about them
They fit comfortably on the ears with the cushions being soft.
I’m not sure if they have dedicated noise cancellation, but when on the ears, a decent level of outside noise is kept out.
Then on to sound, this is where I’m really impressed.. music sounded punchy with great bass levels, but importantly not over kill. Spoken words are clear and when listening to music you really hear the details from the instruments.
Battery life I haven’t tested yet, this is my first evening using them, but so far so good.
The button on the headphone is brilliant, you can control so many things and it works perfectly.
Finally, lag when watching YouTube or anything like that.. I’m pleased to confirm there is no lag whatsoever with these.. I am genuinely impressed with them and would recommend to anyone.
Marshall was known but I had never experienced their product and anyway they seemed specialist and expensive (OK so Bose are more expensive but usage seemed more generic). A Black Friday offer caught my eye and I spent a while checking out the Major IV, then forgetting about it then finding myself coming back to them. I ordered them for the BF price as well as a qi charger and case from other suppliers.
When everything arrived I was surprised at how small the headphones are (they are ON EAR after all, I remembered) but had the guitar players look I had expected and fit comfortably enough. Already charged, I had a quick read of the leaflet and put them to work. Power On was a Power Chord of such clarity I had to indicate to a friend that I had just had my toes curled and the test track was Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath. Mind. . .blown. The Clash, U2, Evanescence, Foo Fighters, Tracy Chapman, Adele and Hagalz Runedance all sound fresh and new through the Major IV. Out of curiosity I linked the TV and found the same results with normal programming and movies, clearer audible definite separation of highs, mids, and though the bass ain’t BANGING it is full and we’ll rounded.
USB-C and qi charging is simple and, with a fast charging USB plug. . . um. . .fast. Some reviews have stated qi charging problematic but with a little thought about folding and positioning it is straightforward. The actual lifetime of the charged battery is yet to be determined but an evenings use had hardly dented it. The 3.5mm Jack works as it should and has the extendable guitar amp look about it.
My only concern is the wire going through the headband to the phones themselves, putting the headphones back in the box I caught the wire on something and had a minor panic attack before checking showed no damage done. The hard case bought for the purpose now houses phones, USB C and 3.5mm leads safely when not in use.
Over all, after checking back to write a review I noticed the price had risen nearer to the RRP so I timed the purchase right. Now excuse me, apparently the Major IV and the Marshall signature sound fit punk so it’s P. I. L. next, or I could be wrong (I could be right!).
Perfect for podcasts. Again the quality of the sounds reflect a lot on voice.
The joystick makes very easy to use and very helpful.
Battery last forever, I charge it maybe once every 2 weeks.
The only small problem (but I knew it before purchasing) they are not noise cancelling. But I don’t mind.
Great tune here for testing these headphones out: Fly by Meadowlark
