Nice chess board with the magnetic figures. What’s missing is a cover box to securely store the game (and protect the board surface).

This chess board has exceeded my expectation. High quality board with high quality pieces. If you are a chess lover, this board is fantastic for the price. Can hardly see the line in the middle either for it being a folded board. The only tiny thing if I was being extremely picky is that there are no spare Queen pieces but that’s about it. Still a solid 5 stars from me.

Very well made but the board is a bit too thin and the internal storage area feels too cheap for this to be classed as “High-Class” . I returned my order but if you don’t really care about the thinness of the wood used, it is a decent chess set for the money.

Design is very classic like my grandfather’s chess set i really like it Quality of chessboard (which is gargantuan) and pawns itself are very gooood. However you can replace inserts with something more classy to the chessboard like this. Theese are plastic ones

We bought this set for our 11 year old grandson and were very pleased that we did. He’s only just started learning chess and is getting a good deal of use out of this set. Great quality product.

An absolutely excellent chess board and pieces. It is considerably larger and more impressive than I expected it to be. This is a board that is not stained different colours, but made using marquetry. The chess pieces are weighted and look good. I now intend to embark on humiliating my long suffering wife by teaching her to play chess 🙂 (and hopefully beating her at it for a while). The pieces are snugly stored within the case in felt apertures. However, it looks so nice that we will probably keep it on display. Hopefully we won’t have any visitors who are competent at chess in the near future.

This chess set is excellent quality for the money. In fact, I’d say it would be pretty difficult to find a better set than this for the price. Absolutely delighted with the purchase!

Over the years I have bought a number of chess sets (too many, probably) but in terms of value for money this set is streets ahead of the others. The men are well finished and the board (which doubles as storage for the men) is faultlessly finished. The storage area ismade from some form of plastic with the shapes of the men replicated, the plastic is then coated in some form of green velour – it works.

I wish I played chess as well as this set is manufactured! Very good value for money.

My 10 year old son loves it, but I’m rather critical of the quality:

The board is very nice, but the chess pieces are a bit poor – there’s superglue on the sides of some pieces and he felt on the bases have not been applied very well.

We loved this chess set. The size was slightly small but the board and pieces eminently playable. At the price we were surprised at the quality of finish and the use of wood instead of paint or plastic to get the contrast between black and white. Thank you.

Well made and presented set – it was a Christmas present for my chess-loving grandson, who was thrilled with it. He was particularly pleased that the insert makes it obvious immediately if a piece is missing when he packs it away.
