These are SO COOL!!! My daughter and I had fun putting this together at Christmas time. Now usually I prefer Lego brand stuff as the quality is top notch. However for my Pokmon obsessed daughter I decided to go MEGA this year for Christmas as well as birthday. Best Decision Ever!!! OMG these are stupid crazy fun to play with. I love the moving parts and how you can attach others in the same series together to make one huge moving playground full of Pokmon goodness. Not only that but the quality is fantastic with MEGA as well. They are just slightly different yet can still be used together with the Lego sets or other compatible brands. Now I can’t wait for her birthday so we can play with the rest of the ones I got her. I’m excited!!!
I got these for my seven year old little brother for his birthday and he was able to assemble it completely on his own! He loves Pokmon and legos so it was the absolute perfect gift for him! A fun activity and a nice decoration too!
My son and I built this together and had a lot of fun! Took about an hour or so without taking any breaks (he did the majority of the work) and then we were left with something that looks good on his little shelf.
I was excited to get this and I like it a lot but I came with one wrong piece for his leg. I still really like it but I do wish it had all the right pieces.
My son loved this. There were a few frustrating times for him with getting pieces to line up and snap correctly, but once it was all together he was pleased!
I was missing a single, noticeable piece from this kit. I contacted Mattel and they sent me over an entire new product! Had a lot of fun putting it together and the customer support from them was amazing.
This is the first Mega set I’ve bought in 25 years, and it completely shattered my view of Mega as a cheap Lego knockoff. The plastic still feels cheaper than Lego bricks, but only slightly so. The tolerances are better than I remember as a child and the bricks actually stick together more firmly than Lego bricks do, which is a refreshing change from Lego’s increasingly fragile designs. The motion is neat- it seems Mega is comfortable with taking a chance and trying new funky design features, whereas Lego seems afraid of being seen as “gimmicky” and has sort of stagnated because of it. Lego needs to take a hint that they can actually do cool things with their licensed sets- even if this set wasn’t a Pokmon, it would still be a fully-articulated dragon with flapping wings and compatability with other Mega motion sets. Why would I want to buy a Baby Yoda from Lego that does nothing other than sit there and look like a Baby Yoda? If Lego doesn’t change soon, I might be a Mega convert.
My son absolutely is crazy about pokemon so I thought this would be right up his street.
When this arrived, and straight the box itself is brilliantly eye catching it drew him in right away and he got really excited.
When we opened the box to build up the character the full instructions were there to guide us and I must say they are easy to follow and very clear. I did help my son to build this we had great interaction and team work but he could of quite easily done this himself given a little more time.
Once it was built I was quite impressed and surprised how big it actually is compared to what I originally thought, it also has a innovative Motion Brick for movement which is fantastic. This is completely compatible with other building bricks and lego.
At the time of reviewing this it is priced at 29.99 and very much value for money.
This would make the perfect gift for any pokemon or building bricks lover!
Such a great thing to have
An impressive kit from Mega for all the Pokmon fans out there, regardless of age. Comes with 388 pieces split into 7 bags for ease of build. Each set of bricks has their own set of instructions, accessible online and in a booklet, that are easy to follow. Makes the building task easier or even an activity to split between a group of friends.
Perhaps the only set of instructions that may need adult supervision if given to young children, is the Motion bricks. This was a construction of 3 gears that bring the Dragonite to life. Adds interactive play to the toy and can leave a child’s imagination go wild.
The pieces are sturdy, durable, and solidly coloured. Final Dragonite is stable and stands over 15 cm tall. Looks great sat on my cabinet!

This Dragonite building set excellent for making happy any child who loves pokemons or just build blocks. I ordered it for my niece and she was very happy to get it. The box consists from 7 bags. It is easy to build follow the instruction. We really enjoy to make it. It is quite unusual for us that it has gear mechanism and it was the most difficult part. Overall nice set to keep busy your child and have fun together. Recommend it.
I’m a huge Pokmon fan so I couldn’t resist this!
The build itself isn’t overly challenging, so if you’re buying this for a child aged over 8 or so then I am sure they won’t have a problem. The bags of bricks inside are labelled which helps with assembly. There are a good number of pieces (387) so it should keep them occupied for a while!
The quality seems very good and the finished result is a cute and loveably goofy Dragonite with moving wings (operated by the turn wheel on the back).
Ever since my little one laid eyes on this building toy, I knew we were in for a treat. Assembling the Dragonite figure was a fun and engaging experience for both of us. The size of the figure was quite impressive, and the posable feature added a delightful touch to the final product.
The motion brick was a unique feature that I hadn’t encountered before in similar products. It added a dynamic element to the play, making the Dragonite come to life with built-in movement. My child couldn’t stop playing with it, creating different scenarios and letting their imagination run wild.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow, which made the assembly process smooth. However, I must admit that the price felt a bit steep for a building toy. But given the joy it brought to my child, I’m willing to overlook that aspect.
In conclusion, I give this 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a fantastic toy with some room for improvement, especially in terms of price. If you have a Pokmon enthusiast at home, this might be the perfect addition to their collectio
This is a pretty easy construction Pokmon figure “Dragonite”, with motion built in. Motion part of the figure is minimal and only makes the figure wings flutter slightly by turning the cog you build into the body, just a little added detail and adds extra fun to the piece. Tail and arms have movement too, let their imagination create and play.
387 pieces, this is a good one to do with the kids especially if they are into building these Lego brick type figures, also spend time with the kids, helping them and guiding them. Recommend age says 8 years and up, but like is say you can help guide the younger children from about age of 6.
Good size build
Great to see Pokemon themed construction sets from a legitimate brand. MEGA blocks are pretty good quality compared to the market leader and this IP is a great win for them. The Dragonite model is really easy to assemble and moreover looks absolutely fantastic. The colour absolutley pops and it’s a good sized build. Considering it’s not the market leader, it does feel a little on the expensive side, but I imagine that’s down to the royalties for the IP. This kit doesn’t have much playability as all it has is flapping wings and poseability, but it does look really good on a shelf.
It’s really well packaged and instructions are clear. Really impressed with this set and look forward to seeing more from MEGA. If you love Pokemon, MEGA have done them justice throughout their sets and this is a must for the collection! My 5yo son was able to build this unassisted and loves the final model on his shelf! Would be perfect if priced just a little cheaper.
This is a fab kit and would be sure to entertain any Pokmon and Lego fan. It took me a good couple of hours to build and I would say make sure you do look at the recommended age and skill/patience level of whoever you’re buying it for, as there is some quite fiddly bits and pieces that look almost identical.
The end product is really cute, standing a bit taller than my beanie babies and really solid in its build. The tail doesn’t come around as much as I would hope so he lives on a windowsill as too wide for my Lego shelf. This is a great set for poke lovers! It even has a bit of movement to it with the added extra which makes it even better! Easy to make with instructions given. Super happy
Great, straightforward instructions. Wish the bags were labelled, so we didn’t have to open every single one before we could begin working on them. We put the parts in left over disposable party bowls to keep things organised with pets.
I had to fulfil my ‘responsible adult in the room’ duties andassist withsnapping tougher parts together. It did feel like 2-3 pieces were an incorrect shape and required a bit more finnese. That being saidthe model looks the same as the day we built it and hasn’t fallen apart.
This was a very fun set to build with my Nephew, MEGA blocks have a fantastic range of Pokemon sets that go from situation sets to models like this of iconic Pokemon such as Dragonite here. Very much in the same style as a LEGO set, this has 7 bags and the model build is split into parts for better organisation and time management.
Straightforward build but for younger builders I would suggest some adult supervision for assistance, the gear mechanism for moving the wings will require careful attention. MEGA Pokmon Dragonite
One of the larger builds from MEGA in terms of size of the structure while being 387 pieces.
I liked the fact that this does incorporate into many of the current MEGA set for example the wind mill set so once built the set can have multiple motions which is fun if this is going to be static you can change the motion of the set to your needs or rather just change things up from time to time.
You can either download the PDF booklet to help with the build or use the booklet that’s included. As far as instructions go this was fairly easy to keep and and understand.
The pictures are well defined and the instructions are easy enough to follow along its not badly illustrated and pretty much straight forward.
7 bags of bricks with each bag number so you don’t have to open all the bags to start with, along with a Motion bricks that has 3 gears which helps flap the wings on Dragonite.
Once built the build is quite stable and sturdy its a great little build piece. its fun to do with the kids if your thinking of gifting this to a friend or family member who loves Pokemon this will certainly be perfect.
Im very familiar with other well known brands in the brick building market but this is my first time using a kit from Mega and I’m really pleased – it was great fun, once I got used to the difference in brick/component styles.
At just shy of 400 pieces, this isn’t the biggest kit ever but it was an ideal introduction for me and I appreciate the intuitive assembly method – each bag of bricks corresponds with its allotted instruction step and being able to access the instructions on my tablet (in PDF form) via the Mega website was really useful.
It probably took me a little longer than it would most to put my Dragonite together as I do find my fine motor skills with some of the smaller bits to be a little hit or miss, but I didn’t find myself getting frustrated and really enjoyed it.
Once completed, and with the addition of the moving parts assembly (particularly useful if you’re building this Dragonite as part of a larger display), it really did look fab! The model stands at just over 7″ tall and is the perfect addition to my display cabinet.
Also, I found the bricks seem to stay together much more effectively than from kits I’ve used from other leading brands – I managed to topple the model over mid-build and thought I’d be back to square one but thankfully, I only had to re-do a couple of bits.
Overall, I think this is a really fun kit build and for 32.99, at the time of writing, I’d definitely be happy with that price if purchasing.
I got this Dragonite toy for my partner/my little girl, as both love Pokemon and also building, so this was a win-win. The instructions were good, and pieces labelled clearly in bags. (see my picture) It took my partner just under an hour to build from start to finish, and it’s a really good size figure, perfect for kids to play with. Having the wings be able to move is a nice feature (see my video), my little girl was flying it around the house and opening and closing its mouth to feed it. The reason for my 4/5 stars is because we feel it could have been slightly better, the wings could have moved a bit more, there were loads of random spare pieces included, and some parts of it such as the tail seem a bit weak, not the best for a toy aimed at kids that will obviously play/handle it a lot. Just a few little niggles with it though, overall it’s a really cool figure on its own, or to accompany others in the set.
