Bought for my 18m old. He’s not able to do all of them yet, which I love, because it’s a challenge for him and keeps him busy.

Cute characters inside, we practise animals noises at the moment, and look forward to counting when he’s older.

I thought my 1 year old will not be interested yet, but he loved it! I know it’s says 3+ years old, so some locks are to hard to open, but he worked out quite few already, and loves opening/closing windows and doors! Highly recommend

I bought this for 12.99 luckily on sale. I would not pay more than that for this, just not worth it. It is well made and good size however looks like the print will peel off easily. My 21 month old is not that interested in it, maybe for about 3 minutes then that’s it. Might be more interesting to a younger baby. Because I got it cheap I’ll just keep it for my next childre

Good product for developing toddlers motor skills and problem solving but a bit pricey for only 6 tasks also the first lock seems to be very stiff and hard to open, I don’t know if that’s just a particular case or other buyers have same problem. But it still keeps the small ones busy for a while and it is challenging for them at a certain age.

Really nice quality and well made – this will last for a while. Because it is well made, I don’t feel like I have to worry about buttons or laces coming off. They seem very secure. My 15 month old is not so interested in the buckles, buttons, etc just yet. But you can also use this like a jigsaw puzzle, so it’s dual use. I like the little detail of the bear being in his underwear when you remove the pieces, I think older toddlers would find this quite funny. Another lovely toy from this brand.

Wanted to give it 5 stars as the product is so well made. I love Melissa and Doug products. The only reason I haven’t is because my youngest just isn’t that interested in it. I purchased 3 products; this and two of the standard puzzles for his birthday. The puzzles went down a storm, and 6 months later is still playing with them. This product has been played with 3 or 4 times since he was given it. He just doesn’t find it as interesting as the puzzles, so an expense gift.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy boy starts to play it soon when I opened the package, he is 1yr and half but he manage to open all locks already, the toy says suitable above 3yrs old, but I think it is safe enough for younger baby. There is no damages on the product, exactly same as the picture, very good finished product, actually it is bigger than I though which is a bonus, there was once my son dropped some water on it and I thought it will leave water mark on the board after I dried it, but it looks prefectly fine after ward. I have recommended it to my friends too, now my son is trying to figure how to lock them up after he opens them all.

I was concerned by the other reviews about the quality issues but decided to buy it anyway and was glad I did. The jigsaw is well made with no rough edges and all the doors and locks work perfectly. I bought this for a one year old who constantly goes to it and can open all of the doors independently. Good for fine motor control of the locks and the different ways to open the doors, only slight disappointment is that 2 of the pictures, behind the doors, are of characters, fish and rabbits, that don’t make a noise. As she’s learning to make her animal noises we get a bit stuck particularly with the fish.

Would recommend this jigsaw and feel it was good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI’ve wanted this the moment I saw it months ago.

    Pros:
Baby loves it! And I love that it keeps her thinking.
The pictures behind the doors are lovely, it’s clever that the more animals there are, the smaller they become (1 horse, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 4 rabbits, 5 frogs, 6 fish…)

    Cons:
The edges of the doors and door frames are rough, so a little sanding wouldn’t hurt.
Also door no.3 is bent slightly, so it’s hard to open.
There was what looked like glue at the bottom of the toy, which won’t come off :/
Edges are ‘wavy’ and bumpy, like the wood underneath the picture layer is frayed.
There’s also quite a few scratchs on the wood, but they’re underneath the metal locks so they were during production, not during delivery.

I would have given it 3 out of 5 stars, but I still love the product and so does baby :). The idea is amazing and I can’t find anything like this elsewhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars I've wanted this the moment I saw it...

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought as a Christmas present for my 13 month old after he played with one at a toddler group and it was the most played with present on the day. He LOVES opening and closing the doors which I have unlocked, and shouting “gone!”. In the future I’m sure he can start to figure out the locks for himself. The numbers, colours, buildings, and animals will be a language prompt in the future too. My 7 year old also enjoyed figuring out how it worked. Don’t be put off by the age 3+ recommendation. This is for “elf and safety” reasons. This toy contains small parts which in the unlikely event that it comes apart could cause a choking hazard, along with obvious hazards like if it gets trodden on by small bare feet. Definitely a toy to play WITH an adult, but aimed more at the under 3s than over. This is an occasional toy so the younger you buy it the more value it will be.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMelissa & Doug wooden puzzles are always generally what I would consider on the expensive side, but you truly do get what you pay for!

Firstly, this is of quite a substantial size – it was a lot bigger than I was expecting it to be! (Really should have reviewed all the pictures!) But I think the size just adds to the quality of it. It’s not overly heavy, so my little one can still slide/cart it around the lounge/her bedroom.

It has a number of animals hiding behind the doors, so your child can begin counting how many animals, can work on their memory abilities and can fiddle and learn how to lock and unlock all the latches.

My daughter was 2 when she received this and 6 months later, is still playing with it and gets just as excited when I get involved with her playing with it.

(It is worth noting that we went through a month of her getting incredibly frustrated over the number 6 latch getting caught against the chain on number 5 when opening it, but again it was a learning curve for her).

Would highly recommend this to any parent or anyone looking to purchase a gift for a little one!
