These lights are really easy to fit, once you have drilled a hole in the wall. Instructions are really good but they suggest you use 2.5mm cable when only 1.5mm is sufficient.
I’m an electrician and fit up many outside lights, and this is one of the best up and down outside lights I have fitted due to room at the back for connections and a sturdy light fitting.
Bought a few of these before I’ve settled on this one… many are put together in a very flimsy way, but this is made really well and I can highly believe the higher IP rate this unit has.
Very quick to install, and looks very smart. Very pleased and will be buying more now for around the rest of the house.
We bought these for the front of our house over a year a go. We love how they look so we bought some more for the back of the house. Great lights and really effective
Needed spotlight to light up the garage door, other half said these would be useless as more for show..he has had to admit to being wrong!
Great little lights for the money, look good and provide plenty of light. Using warm white dawn to dusk bulbs so no need to remember to switch on and off either.
Really nice looking lights, I bought 4 to fit on a gazebo. They can be a bit fiddly to fit the wires inside the housing but the casing is sturdy metal.
So…I love these lights, they look great, generally solid and create a brilliant light, especially when connected to smart socket/bulbs, so it pains me not to give 5 stars….that said the back box containing the connections is both a little flimsy and an absolute nightmare to get the connections in, it’s just too small and then the screws and nuts are a seriously poor design, you’ll get the job done….eventually and once up all forgotten (and almost forgiven) but the install was way more fiddly and difficult than needed to be with a little better design of the back box, what should have been a half hour to fit two turned into 90mins….though as I say the finished result I love
Great addition to our new garden to light-up the path to the garage door. The lights were easy to install (from what the electrician said) and are good quality for the low price paid. Let’s see long term how they survive the English weather.
My only issue with this is I don’t think they will stand the salt air and probably won’t last more than a year before corroding, but anywhere else in the country they would probably be fine. Cheaply made and seals ok, but for the money you can’t complain.
The light has a nice solid metal feel to it which is reassuring and looks smart when up. My issue was with the plastic back bracket which only had a rear entrance point for the cable so you could feed the cable in from the bottom, just made fitting it more time consuming.
Have bought a couple of these, have to say they look a lot more expensive than they actually cost so represent great value for money. A few reviews have said they were difficult to install, but I didn’t find them too difficult to mount or wire, so if you’re looking for a modern light that works as good as it looks, then I would recommend this product.

These are just so well built and sealed around nearly every little part even the bolts Comes with all the parts to wall mount that you need.
Even though these are IP 65 water-resistant, I decided on submerging these in water separated from the mains obviously (do not try at home) with tissue inside to test for possible leaks, and it came out bone dry, I was really impressed.
When mounted I still added that little bit extra silicone to guarantee and seal all around.
The back is a bit tight for the cables but nothing cutting a small bit off and reconnecting won’t fix.
Anyone complaining about the plastic backplate is right, it is plastic but you would need to tighten it a lot or at least mount it really badly for it to crack, Personally I have never seen a metal mounting plate.
I have used the Energiser GU10 5 watt 50-watt replacement led bulbs for this and here on amazon a four-pack of the bulbs come for about 13.00
Pros:
– Metal and plastic build
– Very clear glass
– Rubber seals in multiple locations
– Nice weight to the item.
– Easy to install with patience and common sense.
– These will not allow water unless they are really mounted incorrectly.
Cons:
– The connector housing is a bit tight especially with the rigid solid core cables that you would have in Ireland or the UK. But as I mentioned above just cut them to length and reconnect to the included connector block.
– About an inch smaller than expected but nothing scary.
Recommendations:
– Use some silicone when mounting the backplate to guarantee a great seal.
– Use LED Bulbs in order to minimize heat and/or condensation.
For the price, you’d be silly not to buy them.
They look nice but just a shame the backing you screw to the wall is so cheaply made and flimsy. The plastic backing actually cracked when assembling so filled with glue as these look nice when they are up. They are cheap enough to break can see myself replacing these in a year or so.
This is exactly what I was looking for in my garden. We installed on wooden fence panelling with an outside switch and they look great.
My only issue, as with a lot of other is they are very fiddly to install as the cables don’t seem to fit in the back properly and the screws aren’t long enough to hold the plates together. We solved this easily by using black gyproc drywall screws which you can’t tell the difference now they’re on the wall. Definitely recommend to get some of these longer screws before you start!
I bought two of these lights, one for the front of my home and one for my garden. was quite easy to install, i did need a second pair of hands to help but was easy enough when we got the hang of it. Good value for money!
Got someone else to install. Looks great, but small but you do have to use white clear not warm white bulbs G10. Well I did and it’s great. Brilliant price
Bought these for the outside of my new ground floor extension. Very pleased with the look and very easy to change the blubs – also have the option of having whatever colour blubs. Very sturdy and waterproof in build. Unable to comment on the ease of install – as it was done by the electrican. The only minor negative is that the light range is very limited by the design – good background focused lighting rather than bright general lighting
Nice light, build quality seems good but as other reviewers have said, just not enough room behind the light to squeeze in the wires and the supplies junction box. They are squeezed into mine, time will tell if they stay in there like that!
Looks nice with 2 warm white Lamp (GU 10 type, not supplied). A good level of light if you install the slightly high watt lamps such as 6w each, this provide a decent amount of light at the door where I have installed this.. You can lower this to say a 3w or 4w type if you want a softer, more decorative effect..
You have little to no chance of installing this if you have more than one cable at the light. I had one 1.5mm twin and earth cable and really struggled with fitting the light back onto the back place once it had been connected. It would have been impossible if there were two cables present. Best to try and use a 1mm cable max.
Build Quality is reasonable but time will tell if it withstands the British weather over winter.
Good quality and good value outside modern outdoor lamps. These replace some awful Gothic lanterns that came with our house some twenty years ago. These are all the rage at the moment and give the front of the house a lift. The LED bulbs we chose are white light not the warm white type so are very bright. They look great, and I’m very pleased with the purchase.The only slight niggle is the mounting/backing plate is plastic but when it’s screwed down it seems fine and secure.
The hole in bottom to feed wires thru is too small for comfort.
Even when fitting back plate straight it doesn’t fit straight. Would suggest the arm be adjustable with a bolt. So we can make it straight and tighten.
I went thru back of plate thru rubber whole so looks better anyway.
I still give it 5 stars as those are suggestions. Result is wonderful. Great VFM.
