For these for the kids, they are simple to use but somewhere between some kids units and full blown professional ones.
Range is good we have had 2km in the forrest. The sound quality is good, and they are simple to pair and use.
We bought two more and have 4 in total and all work well. Not supplied with a rechargible battery but I purchased some enloop AAA cells which have done the job and last a fairly long time.
All in all a great quality product youd expect from Motorola.
I’m impressed by these small handsets.
A recommendation is to get some cheap Amazon Basics rechargeable batteries (at least nine, 3 as spare) if you use them lots. They’re quite small, so good for a small bag or pocket. Belt clips are very good quality, will not snap even if put on and taken off lots.
They have a range of about 200m, but struggle through walls. In a straight line, (e.g, a park) you can easily get up to 200m.
Overall a great product and recommend, but takes a bit of investing money into batteries and chargers work properly.
This is definitely 16 channels. All those complaining it’s only & channels, need to RTFM.
To get 16 Channels. Press menu key, when channel number flashes, press + & – simultaneously for 3 seconds, you hear a beep and ’16’ will be shown. You can then press + or – to select channels 9 to 16.
As always, Motorola make great walkie talkies. The only down side is the range, which is always shorter than advertised with any walkie talkie. We still get a good mile range on these across flat populated terrain. shorter if you’re in a forest.
Easy to teach 4 year old how to use it. Good range when being sensible about objects in the way. Good quality. Batteries don’t last too long so switching off as soon as not being used helps loads.
My daughter loves them. Easy to use and the quality of the sound is great, you can hear very clear when the person is talking and they are very loud when you turn the volume all the way up. I tested them on half mile distance in the town and I could hear very clear my daughter, I’m really happy with them. Most walkietalkies work with 9v battery, but these only need 3 tripple A batteries.
Bought for DD, she loves them. Old WT’s were useless, these are easy to set up, clear, compact. Great value. A recommended buy. Can’t properly comment on battery life as only had for a day! Range is great, not tried the full 4K claimed as not feasible. Great buy, reputable brand.
We often go to festivals and events. Our little one wouldn’t be able to use a mobile just yet, but she manages these radios no problem. The battery time isn’t huge, but they work well with rechargable ones. Certainly have been a great by allowing our little one a little more freedom, but also great for peace of mind as well.
Bought these fir my sons rather than a kiddy brand as thought they’d be more durable. They’ve had loads of fun with them hiding behind trees in the park etc. The battery life is pretty poor but I think that’s standard enough with these things.
Great! Range was very good on a campsite with trees. One group got all the way to the shop which was a 2 minute walk away and could hear them OK.
Battery life was great with Lithium Batteries in.
Really good. Batteries are lasting longer than unexpected despite heavy use. Very small but solid. Should have bought the 3-pack so we could keep tabs on the kids when they go exploring!
They go much further than you would imagine, as long as you’re not in a dip/valley or behind a large building/tree, I would say i was over a mile from our house on my test. You can switch chanells, but that is limited. Very good for attaching to kids on a dark campsite when your phone has gone dead.
These are fine for leisure like around a camp site but Bought these for work very easy to use and clear audio. Worked straight out the box so no setup needed. My only issue with these is the battery life isn’t as good As I was hoping. They lasted from first switch on 8am to about 2:30 pm so 6 1/2 powered up. With 3 AAA BATTERIES x 2 being used everyday that’s a lot of money in batteries. Now looking for some rechargeable ones. It’s the first set I’ve bought and used so maybe I was expecting too much. My wife said they would be good to use On a Cruise ship so looks like I’m going on a cruise soon. Ffs.
