MSI MAG342CQPV 34 Inch UWQHD Curved Gaming- 1500R 3440 x
MSI MAG342CQPV 34 Inch UWQHD Curved Gaming- 1500R 3440 x 1440 VA Panel, 100 Hz / 1 ms, Adaptive Sync, 4-Way Adjustable Stand – DP 1.2a, HDMI 1.4b & 2.0b
178° Wide Viewing Angle, Anti-Flicker
The monitor’s frame employs a super narrow bezel along the side edges, which is ideal for multi-monitor systems.
A 178° wide viewing angle keeps colours and details sharp at oblique angles.
Anti-Flicker technology provides a superior viewing experience by reducing the amount of flicker, unlike generic monitors that typically display with a flicker-rate of about 200-times* per second.
*Although unnoticeable to the naked eye, this can cause fatigue over time.
Night Vision & Less Blue Light
MSI Night Vision, a smart black tuner, can enhance crucial details and provide a glimmer of light during the darkest hours.
MSI monitors are optimized to produce less blue light, so that users view predominantly white backgrounds (search engines, online games, Windows apps) for longer periods of time without having to suffer unnecessary eye-strain.
Smart Crosshair
Smart Crosshair automatically changes colour (by algorithm) for improved contrast against the background.
This makes aiming significantly easier in games that contrast realistic dark shadows with well-illuminated environments.
4-Way Adjustable Stand
The monitor stand includes tilt (-5°~20°), pivot (-5°~5°), swivel (-30°~30°) & height (0~90 mm) adjustability for improved viewing comfort.

Really happy with this, just need another 2 and my flight sim setup will be complete.
I had a 27 inch cheaper IPS panel that broke so I needed a replacement. This monitor is a VA panel not IPS, so I was concerned it might be vastly inferior to my old monitor. However I’m very very impressed with the performance and quality of the display. Contrast is much higher, colours are less saturated but this isn’t an issue as it is very accurate and required minimal calibration. It claims HDR but it’s barely that.
I have no noticeable ghosts or black smudge that is usually the main concern with VA panels.
I’ve been using it for a few days and am very happy, especially as it was on offer at Amazon when I bought it.
Big fan of MSI monitors as I’ve purchased before. This 27″ is a nice size for gaming and working with good colours and brightness. Now I’ve become used to the curved screen this is a nice size and enhances everything you do.
i was way overdue a monitor my old one is levono and is bad i love the curveness and so eas yto setup when you get it . the monitor can move up and down depending onehad height where you want it and the pictutre quiality iscrisp. its even better if you use amd but im using nvidia its fine best monitor i have had money well spem
Product came perfectly safe on delivery. Excellent workmanship, RGB LEDs on the back make the environment and design look wonderful. Vivid colors and excellent contrast. I hit the nail on the head with the choice. Nothing to be desired, everything is fine.
I’ve been using this as my main monitor for my 3070ti build so I figured a 1440p 165hz monitor would be great, this was my pick due to the 165hz (and yes it really is 165hz as long as you use the USB and Display Port that it provides.) and I’m very impressed at the picture quality as well as the colour. The slight curve was quite noticable at first but after a while it doesn’t feel like much to add though although as I had a 24″ before this was an amazing upgrade and I’m going to be getting a second one aswell for my setup soon!
Sturdy. Solid. I like native brightness but I had to lower it a little bit cause it was too damn good. Best if you re using DP connection. It s just great. I ve ordered few different monitors to select one. So it ll be between MSI and..I ll see tomorrow
Buying a gaming PC and the hardware required was a new experience for me. I was asking friends who were knowledgeable in this field for advice on what monitor to purchase. Many responses consisted with a list with the constant being MSI.
I am extremely happy with my choice to purchase this monitor, as it’s aesthetic looks pleasing to the eye, especially with the screen being curved. It has a moderately high refresh rate which works wonders for me personally. This is a fantastic product for competitive gaming.
The monitor is pretty good. However it has REALLY BAD ghosting, something I would expect from a TV In the 80s. Everything else is Superb
165hz, can’t go wrong… Especially when playing Warzone… You notice a huge difference when playing 60-80 FPS players… I don’t notice that big of a difference in the curved aspect though… I currently use a 60hz screen for my 2nd display (general PC stuff, so the HZ is not necessary), if I were to upgrade that, I’ll probably get a 2nd 1 of these.
Bought this monitor to pair with my PS5 and in the near future pair with a gaming desktop. Surpasses expectations. Packed extremely well, Very easy setup, and results are brilliant.
I took rather a while before making the purchase… After having looked at all my options this is by far the best value for money monitor you will find. Haven’t yet used many of the settings. Yet the settings I have used show I should’ve made the transition to a monitor much earlier.
There is quite a lot of backlight bleed when viewing a pure black screen with brightness at 60%, in everyday use tho’ not noticeable, even a dark image it doesn’t show up if there’s some bright area displayed on the screen. 1440p Vs 1080p personally I don’t think there’s enough difference to upgrade purely for the extra res. In practice the extra screen space is negligible, game graphics look more or less the same, the slightly higher res shows up more watching a 1440p YouTube video. This monitor has great colour tho’ and when looking at a screen of one solid colour it’s incredibly uniform, contrast blows away any IPS panel and with the pixel response time on its fastest setting there’s no trails behind fast moving objects or ghosting. Probably best used in a dimly lit room, it’s a much better proposition than older generation VA monitors. The RGB lighting is subtle and addressable via the Mystic Lightly software.
Maybe due to my age, I had a few issues getting it set up just right. I would have liked a manual included and not just online, but after 3 days, got it working perfectly with all my games etc
This does not affect the picture when something is running, but the corners do get light patches, poor contrast when screen is black.
Bought this as a mid budget monitor that I could use forever and so far it has not disappointed. For gaming it is great especially because of the 165htz and for productivity and everyday use its all you could expect from a mid-range gaming monitor, which isn’t a complaint. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who wants to take their gaming experience to the next level but doesn’t want to blow the bank.
The monitor is really nice and going from 60hz up to 165hz is a massive improvement, if you could actually run this monitor at 165hz, but you cant not without massive screen tearing. So instead I run it at 144hz which is perfect.
Another problem is the stock color calibration is quite terrible so its definitely worth looking up the adjustments to this.
This monitor fits in a very good place in the market. It’s 1440p with a high refresh rate. That means you can display the fruits of your mid to high range graphics card, without having to shell out a fortune. I like the styling too. It looks very cool from behind and was extremely easy to set up with all my other argb tech using msi’s software.
I decided not to spend money on a 4k monitor because it is only possible to get 60 frames per second if you’re lucky . Now I get gorgeous colours and details, without losing a higher refresh rate and this helps me enjoy gaming. Recommended!
Bought this as a replacement for a standard 60Hz. I was debating between 1440p or 144Hz but then I found this. 1440p and 165Hz and G-Sync compatibility for a good price. I wasn’t sure about the curved screen because at 27′ it makes absolutely no difference and only decreases the viewing angle and increases thickness. If you want to have people around the room watching a game/movie on a slim display… choose something else.
1440p at 27′ is a perfect ratio. No point paying extra for 4k at this size. 165Hz is amazing in my opinion and I’m glad I paid for more Hz rather than for 4k resolution. Improves gameplay by making games run smoother. If your PC can run games at this much FPS then it makes a very noticeable difference compared to 60Hz. Can’t compare to 144Hz as I never used or owned one. Although it isn’t G-Sync certified yet, it does work with G-Sync. RGB on the back looks nice. The red “nipple” used to control the menu is a perfect idea. You can navigate through the menu easily without having to look for buttons on the back. Connecting it with a USB gives you the ability to control settings and RGB using software and gives you 2 extra USB ports. Great for connecting headsets or dongles. It also has a retractable headset hanger on the side which I believe isn’t listed in the spec… it was a nice surprise to find.
Downsides…. for some reason Windows HDR is different then HDR in games…. this causes the monitor to blink whenever you try to e.g. increase the volume using your headset. This is a software issue and I think the fault here is with Windows rather than MSI. Also MSI isn’t very good with making a single bit of software to support their devices. For this monitor you can use 1. Gaming OSD 2. Dragon Center 3. Mystic Light… this makes things confusing if you often play around with settings and if you have other MSI hardware.
Apart from these minor issues… Perfect gaming monitor. I definitely recommend it.
