Definitely lasted longer than just a gel. Did struggle to remove it though even after soaking. Would still use again though for a holiday! I’m not a nail technician but found it easy to apply.
I love it! Because of my work I can’t use extension but this builder comes to help me with my weak nails. It looks very natural and make my nails stronger with not need of extension.
I was abit skeptical with buying this, but I wanted to start doing my own nails to save money in the long run. I haven’t done my own nails for a while, but the colour is still going strong after over a week, so I would definitely buy more products from Mylee
I dont like going to the salon as it takes a lot of time, ordered for the first time and i am very happy with the result and the quality of the gel, highly reccomend
I spent less than 30 on the above items and absolutely love the result. Just wish this brand of builder gel had a slightly lighter peachy colour!
I’ll be doing my own nails from now on 🙂
Was a little bit runny but got used to it pretty quick! Would definitely recommend and will be buying more colours
I have been getting acrylics on my nails for years and now my nails are so brittle that when I get them taken off my nails just constantly break, so I got the clear gel to put a base on my nails and have the option of painting over or not and it’s great. Stops my nails from snapping and was so easy to apply. I watched a few you tube videos and did it no problem
Stays on much longer than my gel polish normally does so when I apply the gel on top my manicure lasts way longer. Have already recommended it to my friends
smells slightly like lavender which is a bonus. seems to work so far with uv lamp hoping it will help my thin nails grow. will update in a few weeks
I don’t often review items, but this really deserves it.
I’ve always had issues with things staying on my nails, I guess I have naturally oily nail plates. My nails have always been a little weak and I’ve never been able to grow them very much before they break. I also have dermatillomania, which is an OCD habit of skin picking, meaning I often pick at my nails and the skin around them if I feel any roughness or unevenness.
This product has seriously helped me grow my nails and also helped to reduce my skin-picking.
Super easy to use; nail primer, then gel base and cure, thin layer of this and cure, repeat once or twice more with this product, and on the last one cap the free edge, then gel top coat and cure.
It also smells GORGEOUS! I don’t know how or why, but yeah, it has a bubblegum scent.
The colour Blush is super natural, and allows your own nail colour/s to come through (currently wearing 3 thin layers the photo).
The clear one is great for sealing in nail art (2nd photo)
I love this product and I think it will be my main nail product for a long time!
3 coats over natural nails. I did lightly buff, wiped with acetone to dry them, then applied 3 coats, curing, cleansing and lightly buffing the first two. Really impressed with the results, look totally natural. Great protection to avoid breaking my natural nails.
Good stuff helping my nails be strong so they can grow naturally once you get used to the consistency. Did have some heat spikes so thin and slow is bes
I’ve used a few different at home builder gels and this is the only one that has worked for me. My nails are lasting 3 weeks or so before they even start to show signs of lifting! I have been using it along with the nail dehydrator so both have been working great together. High recommended from someone with paper thin nails!
I’ve been using this as a base coat under gel colours for a few months. Previously my nails were weak and gel didn’t last. Now they are in great condition, strong and longer than they’ve ever been and gel lasts longer.
Looks do natural and very easy to apply but it’s not staying long on working hands. By that I mean hands that do washing up and some gardening in gloves
The best hard gel I’ve tried so far.
Easy to apply!
Used it and my gel nails are holding well after 1 week. Can’t yet comment on whether is strengthens my nails.
This is my first time using builder gel, I’ve always use polygel and don’t think I want to use it again, this gel is so much easier to use and the colour is perfect. I also love that it’s not super opaque so it can look really natural. My nails are really thin and they bend and break easily so growing my natural nails isn’t something I do very often. My nails haven’t bent at all yet and feel so strong. Before buying this tried to use a curable nail ‘glue’ that came with some tips as a builder gel but it wasn’t as strong. Definitely worth buying
It is quite good, but I find it more flexible than I would like it, when there is no permanent extension under it.
So instead of using it to build the nail, I actually use it as a very good quality “glue” under transparent fake nails, which then I style and paint. For that, it is brilliant.
It’s very sheer and I use it as a nail strengthener, after the base and before the colour ( I used once I t as a base and it didn’t last that long). It makes the colour last longer and it doesn’t chip at the nail end. It just requires care not to make it too thick, as the nail will look too bulky. Multiple thin layers look better than one thick one. I also advise flash curing between each nail application.
Used the “white” builder gel. Lovely milky colour which gets less translucent with each layer, but still isn’t a totally solid block or bold colour. More of a milky white. Being a builder gel it adds good thickness and strength to the nails. Would recommend.
This has been a great product as I wanted to grow my own nails , colour is so nice , easy to apply will be purchasing more
Amazing colour, easy to use, would be even better is it would be a bit less runny, but still 5/5.
Absolutely adore the colour, easy to apply and great quality, added to my MyLee collection and has become a new fav and go to! 100% recommend, the perfect light pink!
Usually use candy coat and worried this product wouldn’t be as good but it is exactly the same quality for money
. I’m so heavy handed and it has lasted over three weeks, no chips just need to do again because of the growth of my nails
Previously used sensationail from boots but it kept lifting so seen a lot of good reviews about mylee products so thought I’d give the BIAB a try to extend my own nails also. Absolutely amazing stuff after 3 weeks product still perfect and was able to just Infil. My new go to nail brand! Easy to use as I’m no professional just do my own at home for fun, builds lovely and really easy to get the right shape as the texture is great! Picture shown they need an infill but the colour is just lovely also.
I have been using poly gel for about 4 months and have destroyed my nails, I have really thin nail beds so not wearing anything right now is painful. I got this to try to avoid the amount of filing and shaping atthe cuticle to allow regrown.
It has not disappointed, goes on really well. I have used nail tip to give length and strength, as well as lots of layers of the builder. It usually takes a full day to do my nails to the point I’m happy. A new set with this tool 3 hours and an infill took 1hr.
Mel said the girls need BIAB so I decided to give it a go. I previously used poly gel but found it really time consuming and hard to get a very glossy finish as the product is a little grainy in my opinion. I used a rubber base for extra strength and I love it! They still look great two weeks in. Hopefully they bring out more nude colours for black and brown skin but it’ll be getting a few more to build up my kit. I used a stamp for my French tip. I didn’t get very close to the nail bed as I was nervous about damage to the cuticle. I have in the past damaged and lifted the nail bed like some pictures in reviews I’ve seen, caused by applying shellac too close to the nail bed, I put this down the improper use and not the product itself. If it’s not curing that’s your UV light not working but I do think they need a wipe with acetone once cured or can feel a little tacky.
**Update! Back again and have tried the white which is like a milky white it’s cute but needs a lot of building so it doesn’t come out patchy defo still needs an acetone wipe after curing to avoid it being tacky but otherwise it’s good. Will try this with the light pink to create an American tip at some point.
I had no idea it was so transparent! But consistency is great! Applied easy! I will be purchasing again with a more pigmented colour! Will be interesting to see how this wears!
Can’t rate as the uv machine I bought with it didn’t work
The product is slightly runnier than some builder gels, so I think if you were trying to do extensions with paper forms, unless you have time to do many layers it’s not particularly good for that. Its perfect however for infilling. I used the magic extender gel initially and use this for infilling as you get a much smoother finish and doesnt require filing before top coat or colour polish.
I have been doing my nails myself for about a year now and I find it really hard to find a good base colour match online for my skin tone. For reference, I am a natural redhead, therefore my skin tone is quite fair. I brought the colour light pink and it matches exactly how I wanted it to. I have tried other brands but I could never get the colour match right. The colours always ended up being too dark for my skin tone and or I just didn’t like how they would look. When I brought this gel, I had the feeling that this colour may be too pink and not a suitable match but I was pleasantly surprised how good the match actually was! I used about 3 layers of the light pink and gave me the coverage I wanted and wears really nice. I will continue to use this brand/colour.
Absolutely shocked how good this product is! After using several professional branded products that you can only buy if a qualified nail technician this had me shocked at how nice it was to use. I loved the thin viscosity as usually the builder gel is thicker that I’ve previously used. This floats like an absolute dream across the nail, building beautifully. Beginners may struggle with the floating technique as you do need to be quick to avoid it flooding but I’m sure applying as base or building by applying like a polish could work, but just be mindful not to bulk out the free edge if applied this way. I liked this milky white so much, I jumped on and bought the twin pack of clear and pink to try. Very happy camper!
I’m a total noobie nail maker. I have been looking for a quick and easy way to get nice long nails for a while and I was recommended this product by a stranger!! I loved her nails. My entire step by step for this product is below.
1. File down your naol and push back cuticles.
2. Alcohol wipe to remove and grease or oils on nails
3. Place plastic nail extenders (the ones which sit under your nails)
4. Apply 1 light coat of mylee product (5 in 1 nail gel)
5. Cure under uv for 2 minutes
6. Apply thicker coat helping extend to desired length
7. Cure for 2 mins and repeat step 6 two or three times
8. After this, your nail will feel tacky so take some nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol and lightly rub over nail. Remove plastic nail extenders.
9. Aaaand ta-da! Enjoy your new long nails
File nail to your preference and your good to go! This product is super easy to use and really good for beginners.
I have had a trial run on one nail. On reflection I’m not very skilled yet. I need to also buy a pink or peach version and a white for the tip. It’s all a nice idea but to be honest doing your own nails with gel builder takes time to master and then even when you have done so it would take hours to achieve a full set of nails. My uv/led light isn’t the best it take several minutes to set the gel. Also although the end result looks and feels strong after about a week and a half they would need taking back with a heavy duty nail file and redoing. Not sure I want or can dedicate so much time.
This takes practice and patience. My first attempt to build length was on my sister and it was a disaster, I didn’t use enough or have the cardboard guide tight enough. When I tried this on myself I found it easier to stick the guide down. I over compensated and did too many gel layers but it definitely worked. I wish I had taken a before photo, my thumb nail had broken off quite low so the whole length (white tip) is all builder gel. I did multiple layers and extra curing in between and as a result the nail is actually really strong. I was not precise regarding the shape I was building as I expected it to not work and to come off when I removed the guide. As a result it took a lot of effort (and help from my sister) to file down and shape the nail- especially around the sides but I’m happy with the result. I am a complete amateur having never used anything like this so I think with patience anyone could do this. My advice would be to be careful with applying whatever guide you are using especially around the sides and do thinner layers. The gel polish over the top applied really well, the builder gel I used was white so it only took 2 layers of pink polish and one white for the tip, I then finished with a sparkle shade on top.
Update
Used again to build numerous broken nails. It took a couple of attempts but I was really pleased with the results. The final photo (teal polish) was after removal, I found some nails came off much easier and intact than when removing just gel. The upturned nail shows the length that I built from my broken nail which was quite long. I would caution that they can become soft (my thumb nails lasted 11 days but became soft after washing up) the rest were still strong.
