It does what it is supposed to do. Personally, I would have liked an additional connection so I could connect an override switch rather than having to switch the supply on/off/on to make it stay on, when you want to use it as a work light.
Finally my builders installed it, it does the job well.
Nice and bright, simple settings on the front.
Dual lighting rings, it looks good.
Down-lights nicely, no light pollution, low power consumption.
Recomended
Love the warm light does exactly what is says Great as you can adjust the length of the sensor so it doesn’t come on when anyone passes the house on the road
The quality is good for the money, it is bright enough for the location (front porch), but could always be brighter. It picks you up easily and so far been faultess and easy to adjust the sensitivity.
I bought three lights, two for the back wall and a third covering the back side door
The two on the back wall (non PIR) are very bright and sufficient to light up our garden, the third which is PIR. More than lights up the space by our back door and adds security.
Bought this for our present home – only problem is that at the moment it is picking up all passing traffic but I’m sure that can be adjusted. Our old light didn’t even pick up me so I was always fumbling around in the dark for putting my key in the lock! Really like it and it’s not too trendy – and this one is for our new home where the front door is on the side of the house so the light will only pick up me and visitors – well, that’s the plan anyway. Very, very happy with it.
I had this light installed by a qualified electrician 2 years ago in a sheltered spot. It was working fine up until now. It looks nice and the PIR sensor worked ok as long as you stood right under it. It no longer comes on at all now. Our electrician tells us the LED bulb has blown and there’s no way of replacing it as it’s locked in the structure. We rarely needed the light so I’m not impressed at all. Had to pay for a new light from B&Q and electrician fees again. 80 extra costs.
Not the best of Materials. But once up looks nice.
The back box is fine if your fixing in a new installation to a flat wall. My wall is rendered I was replacing an old wall light the fixing holes are at a 10 to 4 angle so never lined up with my back box. I was expecting better material at 41
I was sceptical as never heard of NBANYHAN before, but the reviews were good, the video in the description was very well made, so I took a risk and am very pleased. The light felt like quality, yet not too heavy, which helps when mounting it. There is a very thin protective film over the material of the fitting, which I’m assuming is rust protection. Yet to see how well it is protected, but it does appear this will do the job. The mounting screws that hold the light onto the cable housing circle fit very snug in their plastic housing, which is useful when mounting the light. You don’t want them popping out the back once screwed to the wall because the fixing nuts will not bite the thread if this happens. Actually this has caught me out before so I put a dab of superglue under the screwheads to hold it, plus mounted the whole fitting onto a piece of wood which is then screwed to the wall. This gives a level solid base to mount the light and the fixing nuts always have plenty thread showing to fix it securely. The most impressive part was the sensor controls. Usually PIR sensors have a Time (with a clock icon) & Light Level (with a sun icon) adjustment pots but this light doesn’t have that. It has Time & Distance. Being able to adjust the sensor distsance is very good for preventing nuisance switches of the light coming on. I have it set to about half way and it only operates as I reach halfway up my garden path. This is perfect. A very handy sticker, to tell you which is which, and which direction to turn it for + or – and it can be removed once you are happy with the levels, A very sturdy pot and a terminal screwdriver fits nicely to adjust. And it doesn’t come on during the day. The sensor automatically knows when it is night and day. I have inquired with the seller how this works but due to the language barrier they have not been able to tell me. I just get told ‘light will not operate in the day’. So how the sensor knows it is day/night without a light level adjustment pot, who knows. Most importantly though, it had been mounted 2 days now, and only operates at night, when it is supposed too. Hence this positive review. Excellent brightness from th 9.5 watt LED’s. Very happy here….
Have had a couple of terrible lights from the likes of B&Q. They’d last 6 months before going wrong (always going off due to movement (when there was actually nothing there)). So decided to try this instead. Install was easy as the cabling was already there and it appeared to work first time. However, it seems the movement sensor did not work unless you were within 1cm of the sensor (pretty rubbish I thought). Tried adjusting, but nothing seemed to fix it, so I left it on max detection distance and went indoors for the evening disgruntled that I’d need to take it down and return it. However, going outside just an hour later and it was working fine. No idea why, but its working perfectly every time now. Lovely warm light too, not as harsh as my old 100W bulb (which disturbed my neighbours when going off at 3am). Very happy with this and would recommend. Just hope that it last longer than the rubbish I used to buy from local DIY stores.
I purchased this light in September 2019 along with matching outside light, not PIR. For the first 10 months it has worked well, but, after a short power cut, 5 minutes, the light only comes on for about 5 seconds and then goes out completely. I have today had an electrician look at it to reset it, but he says it has completely gone and cannot be reset. I am very disappointed with the quality of this after 13 months and would have expected it to last for much longer. So disappointed as I really liked the design, but would not want to buy another in case it has to be replaced each year.
