Absolutely user friendly perfect piece of equipment, crystal clear play, motion sensitive, watch on your phone, great product, great price, love the Camo, perfect for watching wildlife in our village home
Really quite impressed with the quality of this camera. Being solar powered means you don’t have to worry about changing the batteries all the time but does also have the option to add 4 AA batteries for back up. Being able to connect it with a phone is also great, you don’t have to take out the SD card to put into a computer to get the files, they can be downloaded straight to you phone or tablet. It also helps when setting up the camera as you can see exactly what is in view and adjust accordingly, you can also change the settings. I did have a few issues setting up the camera in the first place(not capturing anything) but contacted customer services and they were really helpful and guided me through setting it up for what I needed, it’s good to know you get after sales support. Good picture quality too.
This camera has provided great footage of the wonderful wildlife that appears in my garden in the middle of the night!! Easy to set up and use. A great purchase that is highly recommend.
For me, the Nexcam Solar Powered Wildlife Camera was an upgrade on a previous trail camera I installed in my garden to monitor bird activity. I have to say that upgrading to the solar model was well worth it, in battery purchases alone I think it will make its money back in a short time.
The camera comes well packaged and, as such, would make a good gift for someone who is looking to monitor wildlife in their garden. The instructions supplied are also very clear and they even supply a quick reference guide for those of us who cannot wait to read the instructions thoroughly. You can be up and running with this camera in minutes which is one of its good qualities.
The Wifi connection through a mobile phone app is invaluable for you to be able to see the results from your camera from a distance and stops you having to fiddle with a memory card or usb wires. The app is easy to use and you can soon quickly see the pictures of videos which the camera has captured.
The video and picture quality is superb (see attached examples) and I cannot wait to see the results from night time activity in the garden.
The Nexcam Solar Powered Wildlife Camera is well worth the investment. The overall quality of the outputs is very good and the solar powered feature is excellent as you can literally go from the box. You will need to supply your own memory card to record the videos and pictures. I’m not sure how the camera will perform in wet conditions as the seal does not feel as solid as others I have tried. However, if that is a problem, I will update my review.
Great camera, I have another trail camera in my large garden but this Nexcam model surpasses it completely. A little help from Amy from Nexcam with a question I had and she sorted me out with the answer. If I ever {which I probably will) want to buy another camera then it will be Nexcam. The Solar charging is a huge bonus and will certainly help without having to buy expensive batteries. The pictures and videos it takes are stunning, the app seems to be a bit sluggish but we can put up with that. I fully recommend it.
Easy to set up, easy to connect and really good quality video
Having being used to using a similar nature camera that is purely battery powered, my favourite feature of this camera is that it is solar powered. It is secondary powered by x4 AA batteries additionally to act as a back up. The power lasts for a long time, reducing the need of (and cost of) replacing batteries regularly. The image and video quality at day and night is high – I use the timer function to enable it to only record when triggered by movement at night though. It’s nice to see video footage of our garden night time visitors – hedgehogs and a fox so far! Very happy with this solar powered camera.
Had it awhile now works ok but the app is fiddly the cam is 5star the app is crap
The Nexcam Solar Powered Wildlife (TC02) Camera with WiFi and 46MP stills and 4K video is packed full of spec with probably the best resolution of any wildlife camera on the market. I have used this camera for approximately two weeks and I was keen to write a review. I have several other wildlife cameras, some more expensive and some cheaper, but none with the resolution to match this.
The build quality is above average and that this camera uses 4 AA batteries as a backup to the incorporated 4400mAh rechargeable. This also allows the camera to be more compact and note that this camera takes a micro SD card. After two weeks use the solar battery was at 100% and the rechargeable AA batteries were at the same level as fitted. The camera setup is straight forward and very similar to other cameras in the range with the WiFi setup was equally effortless although it uses a different App to my TC06. The combination of the solar power operation and the remote access to the captured footage and is a game changer. The camera can be placed in a less accessible location and left for a considerable time. The images can be downloaded onto a phone or similar device within 50′ (15m) and there is often no need to change the batteries. The settings and the battery levels can be altered remotely.
The images, both still and video, are sharp, bright, and of great quality, as I would expect with these specs. A common failing of wildlife cameras, in my opinion, is the low shutter speed on infrared, making still photography of wildlife very hit-and-miss as animals rarely remain still. With this camera, I have had great results. The audio is also of high quality being very clear and crisp. There were no detectable crackles and pops that I have found with other cameras.
Some points to note.
This camera lights up at night when activated (see iPhone photo). This may, or may not, be an issue for you and it certainly did not put the wildlife off (see photo).
The camera lens has quite a close focus although at night the images can be burned out by the infra-red lights if the subject is too close. There is certainly a sweet spot where night-time subjects are crystal clear. I am hoping for a manufacturer to produce a wildlife camera that shoots stills in raw format.
I am proposing to use mine as a security camera for which it is ideally suited. It is self-sufficient and only needs to be remotely accessed in the event of an incident.
Overall, I am really pleased with this camera.
Note the video footage was clipped and had to be downgraded to 1080p.
I had avoided buying a trail cam because there are many weird brands with random QUERTY names, but I watched YT videos and realised that behind the weird branding there are some core products with product IDs like TC02, and they tend to be the same across brands.
This is indeed a TC02. I had mixed expectations. I have used many video products from companies such as Sony, Panasonic, GoPro, & DJI, and while their core products are generally okay(ish), their apps tend to be flaky afterthoughts.
My experience with this TC02 has been surpising. It is easy to set up. The 2k video is good. It works exactly as claimed. The WILDLIFE CAM app works well on my Samsung S22. I check the videos on the Cam several times a day, review them, download to my phone any I want to keep, delete the rest. I haven’t had to reboot the Cam. The internal lithium battery and solar charger work well and adding 4 AA cells is optional.
Note: connecting to the Cam takes about 30 seconds, and may appear to have stalled. What it is doing is using Bluetooth to set up WiFi, and it takes time.
My only gripe is that I miss seeing birds and squirrels because they are out of frame before the video begins. I am wondering if using medium or low PIR sensitivity will reduce the time taken to trigger (based on my theory that the sensor is charging a capacitor to a trigger voltage, and increasing the sensitivity increases the length of the trigger window).
There is a lot of tech in this product for the price, and it is good value if you understand what it is and how it works.
Although this camera is not what I expected it to be, it is good quality. It is better viewed on computer rather than via app on phone. Because it wasn’t the camera I wanted I received a refund and am satisfied with the outcome. The company clearly want customers to be satisfied and I understand they are developing the camera further.
Not mastered the video side yet as the instructions are a bit complicated but pics during the night come out just fine.
We bought this camera several months ago for watching wildlife in the field behind our house and it has been fantastic with crystal clear videos of Foxes and Badgers. It is easy to set up and the solar battery charges really quickly, even during the winter.
Highly recommended it to anyone
Used to film night time activity in our garden (hedgehogs). Very good quality video. Good internal battery performance however solar panels not effective due to low winter light – would be definitely better in summer. However I tried several apps and they were all painfully slow loading videos, hard to use and had to stand nearly over the camera to get any signal. The object was to avoid having to keep going out to recover the sd card to read so we returned it with no problems.
Update – I bought this on offer at just under 100 and now it’s on at 299. I dont know how they come up with these prices – 299 for a camera with barely useable wifi seems excessive.
I bought this great wildlife capture camera and 7 months later it developed a fault. I must say that customer service from Jack Alan was just amazing. As soon as I contacted them they immediately reassured me that they could resolve the issue. They were extremely polite and customer focussed. The issue was resolved very quickly and I am very happy with the outcome. The camera is superb and takes great photos and videos. The app is also very easy to use. I highly recommend this product and JackAlan as the supplier. I have since bought a second camera as I really get a lot of enjoyment from watching wildlife.
I’ve had this product 4 months now and it is proving to be a real hit. Thought we had a hedgehog in the garden; the camera showed us it was a rat. Got rid of that and the hedgehog is now back. Great fun and easy to use. Great quality and recommend.
I use this in our garden to track hedgehogs and foxes. It’s really worth paying extra for the solar panel as you will use so many fewer batteries! It connects to your phone so you can see your videos there & easily Facebook or WhatsApp them to friends.
Really easy to setup and use. I bought this camera as an addition to my existing wildlife camera, which is powered by a separate solar panel. The new one has performed perfectly so far, and I thoroughly recommend it.
(The image is the backend of my greyhound dashing past the camera in the night!)
This is our second trail camera and by far the best. The solar panel really works, keeping the battery charged and making the system far less hungry for AA batteries, a problem with our old one. Pictures are great, all very clear. Menu system clear, so relatively easy to set up and plenty of options. Wonderful piece of kit.
I was somewhat wary of buying this product as I anticipated it would be difficult to set up and use. To my surprise I found the instructions easy to follow and the equipment worked first time. Connecting the camera to the computer was easy and also worked first time.
My other surprise was to find that the visitors to my garden included a fox, a muntjac and a badger. Good long vision shots. I also put the camera in my shed and found a mouse to be a regular visitor, this time the lens worked with a close range shot. I’m very pleased with this purchase and now take the camera with me when I visit my family in order to show the grandchildren what they have at the bottom of their garden.
This is an excellent camera. We are enjoying looking at our little hedgehog drinking from our pond.
It’s easy to set up and the app is fab and downloads fast when accessed.
The quality of photos and videos is amazing. It has been in situ for over a week and battery life is still fully charged.
I haven’t found any negatives yet.
I recommend this camera. No need to pay more when this dies it all for half the price of others out there.
great camera with clear pics and vid night and day, easy to connect wifi and check pics & vids- but it took me a few days to work out how to use so persevere, inbuilt lithium battery recharges well if in a position to catch sunlight ,and you can insert back up batteries .you need to insert SD card preferably 128mb not supplied
bracket supplied is not very sturdy but belt for fixing is supplied. using camera in front and rear garden and on first few days caught pics/vids of squirrel fox rat and tortoise (family pet) night and day.
Price is not cheapest but it is good quality and will save a lot in batteries.
I’ve noticed that I’ve got 3 squirrels in the garden but sadly I miss the photo opportunity .
So I did some shopping around, came across this little Camera.
And have a lot of activities of wildlife and cats going in, out of the garden.
I love how you can put back up battery in, solar charger system so you don’t have to have batteries in.
And you can get app for the camera and do a live stream so you can set the camera up to the right level of view for the wildlife.
I may get a second one for later on in the year .
Also the up side is that you can put up to 128 sd Micro card
Love i
This is a good camera, easy to use and great picture quality both in the day and at night. Main culprit for dislodging plants on our pond is our own dog! But the fox likes a paddle too! The wifi is good and it’s really convenient to be able to view any photos/videos on your phone. One thing to note is the memory card is not included which, given it’s a more expensive camera than many, would be good to have in there.
I got this camera to monitor the wildlife visiting the garden. The camera was very easy to set up and position and with it being solar powered and having WiFi built in you can place it and not have to touch it, handy if you place it in an awkward to reach place.
I can sit in my conservatory and access the images with ease.
The picture quality is excellent and it handles most weather with ease, obviously if the sun is low and in front of the camera you do get a bit of glare.
Overall I am very happy with this camera, so far only captured pigeons, magpies, squirrels and the neighborhood cats, but I live in hope.
I have several similar wildlife cams, but this was our first with solar power. For the first few months, the batteries died really quick, within hours, but its getting better now the days are longer. I get about 3 days footage before it goes dark at the mo
We chose a wildlife camera as a Christmas present to see what birds came to our bird feeders during the day , and also any wildlife passing through our garden at night. Selected this one as it has a solar panel to charge it’s batteries and for the WiFi connection to review the pictures from within the house. So far we’ve only used it to view the bird feeders – it needs to be fairly close (1.5m 5 foot) to get a decent image, and for a small bird to trigger the camera.
Pro : good clear pictures now it is set up – we are using the Game Camera Pro 2 app as recommended by comments on internet, not the Hunting Camera 4K app mentioned in the manual.
Con: the instruction manual could do with improvement ! ! Fortunately there are some good start up guides on U Tube.
Written instruction book is not very helpful and relevant app was not available when initially received, but new version of app appeared within a few days and I managed to get it working. It is confusing as when you connect to WIFI it says ” Internet may not be available” which usually means “isn’t available”, but if you press the back button at this stage you will find that you are connected.
Camera itself is very good with clear pictures day and night. I need to recharge the rechargeable battery about every 10 days as, being winter, the solar panel can’t charge it sufficiently – so can’t say how well this will work in summer.
