After nine years of sporadic use, yesterday mine died. Groaned, made a burnt-rubber smell, then went silent. Much better than the previous one, a Karcher that lasted six months.
My previous pressure was a Nilfisk and that is still going strong after 10 years but the extension wand developed a leak so i went for same model and was not disappointed the wand fits my old washer I now have 2 workable pressure washers
Good value and ideal for cleaning the car and patio
Was using a karsher k2 the Nilfisk is a better power washer has wheels and a thicker hose, that’s 2 metres longer also a detergent bottle which I use for snow foam on the down side you cannot adjust the power like on the lance of the K2 but buy this instead of the K2 its much bette
Purchased this ‘lil beauty for general cleaning purposes such as washing the patio and cleaning the car. I have a keen interest in Car detailing so wanted a pressure washer to get the bulk dirt off my vehicle. Well, look no further than this gorgeous machine. It is small in stature but certainly doesn’t lack on power. Two different nozzles included, one rotary for general clenaing needs and a wide set one for wider area cleaning, it even comes equipped with a foam lance nozzle, this is fit for purpose and creates gentle sudds for cleaning the car but worth investing in a higher quality if you are into snow foaming your vehicle. Exceptional value for money and a brilliant piece of kit. Delighted!
Super little pressure washer. Not the strongest out there by any any means but for light to medium tasks it’s great. Picked it up at a great price. Instructions were a little pants but pretty easy to put together without them. So far I’ve cleaned my car, bits of patio and my gates. I imagine a more powerful one would do the job faster, but this still gives good results.
No issue with this, all components are still working as if they were brand new and this is used at least twice a month. Maybe should have got the upgraded model with the reel for the power hose but I’ve got the art of coiling the hose down neatly down to a tee.
Got to say i don’t know why I haven’t purchased a pressure washer before today I have have swept and washed (with hosepipe ) my patio area down every day for years (yes every day as we have 2 rottweilers ) and until today I always thought I kept it relatively clean but was i wrong as i always thought my patio area was grey but its actually cream best buy ever should have bought one years ago easy to assembled easy to use and delivery as usual can’t fault on tha
I was after a decent, reliable, basic pressure washer. I checked various sites and brands. Nilfisk, I discovered, is a good brand and this model, although a couple of years old, is basic and effective. Put together by referring to the instructions which were unclear (complex graphics of multiple models on the same sheet, glossy paper and feint text). That said, I used the thing for about and hour tonight cleaning off hardwood garden chairs (old ones). It was effective and easy to use. There are only two nozzels but this does exactly what I asked of it.
Assembly was easy for me, mid seventies and female, which is both ageist and sexist. On the other hand if I can do it anyone can. Disassembly however is beyond me. I can not separate the two parts of the lance I don’t have the strength in my hands, but that is a minor problem and I’m not going to dock a star for that.
I was a complete idiot in that I chose to use it as soon as I got it and the day turned blustery, rainy and really cold. Learn from my mistakes because you will get very wet. If you can’t wait until the warmer months at least avoid a windy day.
This pressure washer works as good as any other brand in the same price bracket.
It was very easy to put together .
I have only used it once so far and it worked very well, cleaning wooden decking as it was starting to get slippery under foot.
The nozzle did need cleaning a few times as dirt got sprayed up and partly blocked it but it was very simple to clear with the tool provided
Over all pleased,I hope it lasts.
This was the second one ordered, and everyone who decides to buy one, really should follow the guidelines about removing air from the system when first setting up. Basically connect hose, run water through for 5 mins, connect gun hose and run water through, then switch on and run water through, this may take a few mins before motor kicks in. Be patient.
And if you’ve read this, and are about to buy one, check Amazon warehouse deals, and grab a bargain unit, returned because people don’t set up the washer correctly.
I bought mine to replace an older version I had for 5 years, I’m sure I’d still have it if it weren’t for the fact it was loaned out to Tom dick and Harry. And it burnt out.
These machines are fantastic, plenty power to wash the car and the slabs. They have more pressure and flow rate than other comparable machines.
I bought this in hope that I could wash my car with it. Once I got it working, it was great. Sadly, I don’t have an outside tap and the pressure was too much for my house to handle so to avoid overflowing the mains, I had to return it. The short time I had it, it was great. Simple enough so cleaning. It’s only so powerful so if you really want a deep deep pressure clean, then this might not do it. Overall, enjoyed it while I had it.
Amended review, bout this a few months ago and had issues straight away. Once I’d had enough I got in contact with Nilfisk and after proving my purchase and send them the details etc. Within 5 working days, I had a new pressure washer delivered to me no questions asked. The new one works perfectly and is of great quality and very powerful for a lower model.
For the money this machine is just about adequate for general household stuff like car washing. But you get the feeling that larger jobs like cleaning a deck or a large area of paving will be too much for it. The box and
Assembly fairly straightforward (just a crosshead screwdriver required for four large self-tappers) notwithstanding patronising and less-than-clear ‘Ikea-like’ instructions. Mains cable and hose length again just about enough. Primed the system as instructions recommend and away we went… Quite noisy in use compared with other electric ones I’ve had in the past.
You get what you pay for and this is reasonable value at a 50 ‘deal of the day’ but at much above that I’d be looking elsewhere. The Amazon listing stresses ‘for occasional cleaning’ and ‘domestic use’ so it’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts!
The washer took a small amount of time to assemble and out to the garden we went. Wow, for a smaller machine, this performed well and I have no complaints at all.
As per some other people had mentioned, it is best to connect the washer to the hose and pull the trigger to allow water to run through the machine whilst the electric supply is off… then switch the electric supply on and away you go.
Also, ( slightly conflicting issue ) it is best not to use the connectors from the garden hose which have an auto stop function and use a free flowing connector… a few websites mention this.
Great machine, great price and a top service from Amazon… well worth the money. Very happy indeed..
First off try before you build the machine fit the hose and plug in then fit the hose and lance then prim water through the machine by pulling on the trigger for a few minutes to get any air out of the hose. Then switch on and away you go…. I built my first one completely switched it on and it didn’t work 🙁 so had to strip the machine down again and repack. Anyway I ordered another the same model and to my delight it worked very well so so far I’m a happy chap, fingers crossed it lasts forever and my Ducati will be gleaming.
Update I’ve just been reading about extention hose for my new machine 8 mtrs and noticed a lot of reviews from people buying new longer hoses due to the old hoses splitting so I really have doubts about the quality of these machines, let’s hope I’m wrong.
The Patio cleaning attachment that I bought as an extra (though I’ve seen in some bundle deals) works very well. You do have to keep it free from muck and debris but for the money it’s hard to fault – maybe a few more PSI would be handy in some situations but I’d definitely consider another one of these. Also surprisingly small and easy to store / disassemble.
Would buy again …
Excellent domestic pressure washer for the price. Used it to clean the car (with the bottle attachment and Turtle Wax pressure washer car shampoo) with good results in half the time and with little effort. I also cleaned the concrete paths and drive and only using water they came up so much lighter in colour. Reading the reviews before I decided which one to buy, it seemed that one or two people had trouble with the pipe leading to the trigger handle from the pressure washer. I can honestly say that so far I have had no such trouble with tearing it getting leaks after trailing it around on the concrete. Everything stacks neatly and all in all, I find it very good and have already recommended it.
I’ll start with the negatives – the instruction leaflet is almost incomprehensible. It isn’t difficult to put this together, and I could probably have worked out how to attach the handle and wheels anyway, but considering that the leaflet also (apparently) is supposed to contain safety advice and operating instructions, it is very poor.
That said, it’s hard to find fault with this. The length of cord and hose compare favourably with the Karcher that this has replaced. The ‘on board’ storage is useful, as is the ability to change nozzles although thanks to the leaflet I’m still not sure which nozzle I should be using! It’s small but powerful, made short work of the patio slabs and did a good job on the henhouse and associated stuff. Light enough to move easily, the wheels are not really necessary. A good buy, I just hope it lasts longer than the Karcher.
Nice little bit of kit. It’s surprisingly powerful for its size.
Did my patio and it came up like brand new.
The snow foam bottle isn’t bad either (I expected a weak watery mix) If you get a good water to shampoo ratio it gets the job done.
You do need a good soap though. I experimented a bit and did manage to achieve a snow foam coating.
I recieved it yesterday and used it almost straight away to give the car a little clean. It was easy to set up and use. Didnt even us instructions
The pressure was fantastic, better than i thought it would be for the price.
The foam aplicator is almost useless. I ordered a better one when i bought it on other reviews but that hasnt come yet. For a general shamppo of the car the foam aplicator is fine but will not produce thick foam
The hose provided is a bit short but i wont pay half the price of the machine for a longer one so it will do.
Ive only used it once so the
Is is more of a first impression. But, on the first impression i am impressed. I guess time will tell.
I found the written instructions incredibly confusing for such a simple product. There is an excellent video on the company website. Just take three minutes to look at that.
Very good, powerful and easy to use! Only problem I have found with it so far is that the soap applicator bottle (foam gun) is utterly useless.
The main reason I purchased this was to clean my car with it but I’m really disappointed with that particular attachment as now I have to find one that fits and works for what I need but other than that it’s brilliant well worth purchasing as it’s brilliant for everything else I’ve used it for.
I needed to spend 40 on a part to fix my old Kew Dynamic 4350. Then I saw this for just seventy. I did the sensible thing and bought this.
When it turned up I nearly laughed, it looked like a toy. It’s tiny and you can pick it up easily with one hand. My Kew is so heavy I struggle to lift and lug it around two-handed (especially up stairs from the basement where its stored.) But when I got round to using this I was blown away (much like the grime on some paving stones were!) The pushback from the gun felt as strong as I remember the Kew giving when new, even though that’s rated at 140bar vs the 110 of the Nilfisk.
Big bonus: I was hoping my Kew accessories would work with this, since Kew became part of Nilfisk. And they do! I just have to plug the Kew extension tube into the Nilfisk gun, then obviously the Kew accessories plug into the end.
I’ve actually bodged my Kew to get it working. I considered using the Nilfisk for light jobs and breaking out the heavyweight Kew for tougher tasks. But there’s just no point! the Nilfisk seems equally powerful. I’ll do more tests but the Kew seems destined to be a backup in case the Nilfisk breaks down.
I researched a few brands before buying the Nilfisk, there’s only three or so in this price bracket which made it an easy decision. I considered purchasing the model up which comes with a patio cleaning attachment but read a number of negative reviews on the flimsiness of it, valves clogging up and cost of replacement.
Admittedly, I was underwhelmed when first unboxing it but once everything was in place and I could see that it was actually a decent bit of kit with a light weight lance and quality non-kink hose.
I spent at least 4-5 hours pressure washing the entire garden patio/walls and it’s head and shoulders above my previous one, it seems to be almost twice as powerful which is seriously impressive considering the size of the unit.
The unit itself is reasonably light weight so I was worried it would keep falling over but the length of the hose means that you can keep it at distance from your work without constantly dragging it along with you (another complaint about my previous washer!)
It’s hard to get too excited about a budget pressure washer and the thrill of seeing a beautifully revealed patio wears off about an hour into the job when you’re covered in water and bored to tears but I’m genuinely impressed by the value for money here.
The nozzles are a bit tricky to work out which strength is which.
once it is set up and ready to use I placed a towel under the machine to catch any excess water (I was using from my bedroom window) as I was cleaning the conservatory roof.
It did a good job of removing moss and light stains but did not budge the heavier stains. We have recently moved into a new property and purchased this for the windows and roof.
Decent for the price I paid. Also my first time using a pressure washer.
So far really impressed. The unit is very compact and extremely light which make moving the washer about easy (as the hose is not that long). The lance feels a bit flimsy but in use is perfectly fine. It packs a bit a wallop and has much more pressure than my much larger- but fairly old Karcher that it replaced. I use it for car cleaning and for me its perfect. I might upgrade the lance to a gun in the future just to make it easier to handle in tighter spaces. I’ve knocked a star off for the cheap feeling lance and shortish hose.
Great pressure washer. Used on my Pick up truck, car, patio etc. The main pain is the hose is about 2m too short to easily clean my truck. As it is I constantly have to keep picking up the machine and moving it (which is not a great problem as it is very light) I was considering one with a lot more power but having seen how even this one can strip paint I’m glad I did no
Solid bit of kit, and an all metal pump lends confidence. No issues at all in the last year or so.
deal for small garden and cleaning the car. Noisy but don`t be put off by that, very cheap on a lightning deal and adequate for the occasional user, not too sure how it would stand up to more rigorous daily usage though. Comes with two types of power heads, and the detergent bottle attachment. Used it to clean patio and wash down fence panels, all in double quick time. Pleased with the end results too. For 60 I am not complaining.
Unfortunately, before the washer can be used there is a bit of DIY to be done, to attach both wheel brackets, then the wheels, and then the handle used to wheel it about.
I was initially very pleased with this small compact unit, which did a nice job of cleaning the patio.
However, after the second use one of the screws attaching the handle came loose, and could not be tightened up sufficiently to hold handle in place. This appears to be due to the screws only being held in place by self-tapping screws, which screw into the plastic body of the washer.
In my opinion it would have been better if the manufacturer had used a larger box, so that all the bits came already mounted onto the unit, and that the handle and wheel brackets were attached using some sort of nut and bolt arrangement, rather than relying on flimsy plastic.
I am disappointed that I have had to return this to Amazon, because now I do not have a washer at all, having given away my old one. However, there seemed little point in keeping a product that started to fail so quickly.
Use: Easy to use, on / off switch easy to use. Power cable is plenty long enough to use, especially with a good extension lead also, however the lance hose could certainly be a bit longer to help ease of use, but wasn’t too much bother. The lance hose connection was sound, easy to connect and seemed sturdy, although the hosepipe connection didn’t seem so sturdy so time will tell how well it holds up. The unit is very light and easy to carry around.
Would give it 5 stars but for 2 things: 1. there are virtually no instructions included (the ‘manual’ is hundreds of pages of other languages of warranty etc), and the lance hose is not long enough and kept getting tangled up in itself.
This is my second pressure washer and the last one i had was big, noisy, heavy and a real chore to get out and use just to wash your car, so i thought I’d go for a smaller one but i didn’t want to pay the high price of better known brand.
After arriving It took about 20 mins to put together. Its well made, well designed and compact. At this point i was questioning whether this small washer would be powerful enough for what i wanted it for, but it most certainly is. Its simple to use, light enough to carry with one hand whilst using it, it’s quite and simple just to pack away when finished. Just the job.
I would definitely recommend this pressure washer for washing your car and small jobs around the house. At 59.99 its Great value for money.
Great pressure washer with a powerful jet and compact design.
I bought this to replace a portable pressure washer that was capable of a measly 10 bar. Multiply that by x11 and wow! – what a difference. The whole unit feels very solid in design and was easily assembled in a couple of minutes by following the simple instructional video for the washer.
Operation is very simple with the lances assembled simply with a 90′ twist and the spray heads clicking into place and releasing with the press of a button.
The first nozzle it comes with is the “tornado” head that provides a good spray and can be used to wash the car if held at a distance. If, like me, you are primarily using this for car washing, it is probably worth investing in the Nilfisk “Auto Nozzle” (can be found for 15) that better shapes and slows the spray so as to be kinder to the paintwork.
The second nozzle is the “Powerspeed Nozzle” that speeds up the jet stream for use on more stubborn stains. **DO NOT USE THIS ON CARS** as it will shred your paintwork if it finds any stone chips.
Finally it comes with a foam bottle attachment which I haven’t tried so cannot comment on. However, from reading around on car forums, this is more for mixing in regular detergent; if you intend to use snow foam then you will need to buy a dedicated snow foam lance (I picked one up for 20 with a Nilfisk adapter included)
only used once to wash the cars but very good, good attachments with different pressures and foaming bottle very good for applying car wash, i just need to find some car wash that goes on the car a bit thicker as by the time i spray half and go for the sponge its run off (my fault, not the washer!)
its a lot more compact than expected but feels of good quality and all attachments connect to back of washer so keeps it neet and close to hand.
also it is not that noisey when being used either, was worried it might sound like an old generator but it was a reasonable level, not at all annoying!
i will look forward to cleaning the drive with it…. but closer to summer time!!
one point though it is a pressure washer so take care especially on the front of cars which might have stone chips, it will take paint off around them
I’ve now used the Nilfisk for washing the car, stripping decking, fences and sheds and removing deep grime from paving slabs and can hands down say it is superior to the Karcher. Terrible technical manual instructions aside, it went together easily with much more stability. The plastic is more rugged and clips in more reassuredly. The wheels are smoother. The fixtures and fittings are all snug and secure but it’s when you use it that the difference is apparent: it is simply more powerful, more of the time. It takes less effort to remove the same amount of dirt, so combined with its better build quality it is a no brainer to choose this over the Karcher. It is quieter – just – but it makes a less abrasive noise, so subjectively is a lot less fatiguing.
For a small to medium sized household I cannot see that you’d need anything else, but I’d be very happy to plump for one of their higher-spec models, such is the quality of this. Highly recommended.
Primary reason for getting this was to speed up car washing and I have to say it’s surpassed expectations. The unit is straightforward and quick to set up and the performance it delivers is impressive. Using a pressure washer paradoxically results in me using less water and doing a better job. Switching nozzles is quick and easy and the ‘powerspeed’ nozzle provided enough direct power to blast off a spattering of sun baked dried cement from paintwork without any damage.
After 5 months of use I can say this is highly recommended but I would say to keep an eye out for deals as this seems to be regularly featured in lightning deals around the fifty quid mark
I was surprised at how compact it was, but boy does it perform well. I wanted to offer to clean bits for my neighbours just so that I could continue playing with it. Easy to put together for the average person but some better (some!) understandable instructions might help. Anyway I can not wait for the next time I have to get the pressure washer out. Women – buy one for your man if he doesn’t have one. He will be out of your hair for days. I cleaned the hardwood garden furniture which had not been touched in 7 years, cleaned off three large concrete patio’s and two wooden areas, then went on to clean a few garden objects and hardwood arches, before scaring off next doors cat (by mistake!) all without any special cleaning liquids. Then I went on to clean two cars. GREAT FUN. GREAT PRODUCT.
Bought this to replace another karcher which had broke on me again
I had two karchers over the last five years or so and they only get used two or three times a year….to clean the decking and then maybe borrow a friend or member of family so certainly don’t get over worked
After the latest one broke I did a bit of research and came across the nilfisk brand
Looked at various forums, websites, reviews etc and decided to move from the yellow one to the blue one
Used it last week for the first time and to be fair it cleans about the same as the karcher one did which was a similar price
The difference is the simplicity in exchanging the nozzles, the detergent attachment which would cost extra with the karcher and the build quality seems better and it’s certainly quieter as well
It’s early days yet though But i do hope all the reviews etc prove right in that these do last and are well buil
This thing must produce some serious back-pressure when the valve opens/closes.
Curious though as to why no other reviews make mention of this – what connectors are others using I wonder?
Oh, one more thing, the DVD (or is it a CD?) requires Windows 98!!!! Are you serious Nilfisk????? As others have said, won’t open in Win7 let alone on my Mac. Guess they ordered too many back in 1998 and sales didn’t meet projections.
