I got this as my partner still after nearly two years kept making the bath too hot for our boy. It actually ended up being really useful and gave me peace of mind
I have had this for almost 2 years now and it still works great, it flashes and shows “hot” on the screen if the temp is too high. And it’s accurate when compared against other in home thermometer. It’s definitely durable and I have used it for temp checks in rooms as well as the bath.
Really useful to help get the temperature right at Bath time. It sometimes takes a few minutes to turn on but other than that it’s great. I’ve had this three months so not sure about durability.
This is a great little gadget. I have what my mum would say were asbestos hands so I never know just how hot the water is in the bath! So this temperature gauge works to help me know that the water is ok. It’s so cute too! Would recommend buying this as a help to guide you when preparing a baby’s bath.
You simply place it in the bath but it
doesn’t always turn on so iv found u have to smack the back to turn it on. Comes with the battery inside and flashes when it’s to hot it very simplistic.
Had this for around 8 months now and it has become a favourite amongst the whole family. We all use it for our baths now and little one loves that it’s an animal.
The nose and belly are starting to rub off but after 8 months of almost daily use, I would expect that.
My only downside for it is recently water has gotten into the penguin. The thermometer is not affected by it but it does definitely pose a problem right now.
May be time for us to get a new one. Or hope that we can open it up and drain the water without any problems.
It is the second one we have bought so we can also have one at my parents house. It does what it says, so far it is in perfect condition and looks cute too.
Long lasting we’ve had this for 6 months now and it’s still going strong, and we haven’t needed to change the battery on it yet.
Temperature tells you once it’s in the water within seconds and also flashed red when water is too hot.
Great to use out of water also for a room temp reading to ensure a comfortable environment, great quality and great price
Easy to use bath thermometer that the baby also loves to play with in the bath ( has loads of toys and chooses the thermometer!). Haven’t had to change the battery yet and had it for months.
I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews but this has worked great for us. The little yellow beak was a little scuffed due to the packaging but this didn’t bother me as it doesn’t affect use and the item is bound to get bashed around over the years. I like that there’s a little reminder of the ideal temperatures on the penguin above the display screen. Easy to turn it on, I hit it against my palm and it switches on. Responds well to temperature changes. Flashes red when the water temperature is too hot.
Brilliant! So worth it! I brought one because I’m a first time mom and was nervous about burning my baby, so glad I did! Gives accurate readings and also flashes when it’s too hot so you can’t get confused with the temp! So worth it! Can also be used as a room thermometer but I’ve only used it in the bath. It’s still going 11 months later!
This device works well.
They only weird thing is that, to wake it up, you have to smack it or tap it on a hard surface.
Would have been easier to work with a sensor or a button.
Also annoying that it works with batteries and can’t be charged via USB.
Running a bath for my child I always thought it felt ok but they always say it’s too hot. But with this it’s great very easy to see if the temperature is ok for them and the kids love using it too.
Definitely very useful for baby bath time and to get the temperature in their bedroom. And a fun and playful shape which toddlers respond well too. Good value for money, we’re satisfied with this purchase and would recommend.
Great thermometer to use in the bath! You have to tap it on a hard surface to activate it and then you just chuck it in the bath!
Cute design too
Wife bought this and I thought it would be a waste of money. Happy to say I was wrong. Just throw it in the bath, it floats so it’s easy to see & then sits there accurately showing the temperature of the water. Has an alert for if it’s too hot; very easy to use and you never have to worry about your own judgement on if the bath is too hot or not for your baby. Definitely recommend one.
Never before have the words ‘hit the penguin’ meant so much…
An excellent bath tester and room-temp monitor! A little unexpected that it shuts off after a bit, but that works to save battery I expect.
A good thermometer for baby all round
Great accuracy & small/lightweight, but not ideal to have to hit it off a surface to bring up the temp. Not easy to do quietly in the middle of the night without waking the baby. I’d imagine it’s easier for the bath but we don’t need it for tha
Great little thermometer for Bath and room.
I don’t like that I have to tap it off a hard surface to show the temperature as this can wake the baby during the night so not ideal for that.
Hand for bringing out in stroller on hot days but doesn’t seem that accurate in that scenario, hard to tell.
It’s not the best thermometer in the world but its probably the cutest. It’s quite slow at reading. I usually have problems with objects that work by tapping them against something but this one works well – you don’t have to tap it very hard which is good news for the penguin!
