Smart Travel Case For On The Go
Charge your brush and your smartphone simultaneously while traveling.
Brand: | Oral-B |
Origin: | Germany |
Like the movement of the bristles, which wasn’t the case with my old brush. Like the fact that it lights up red if I press too hard.
Charging takes a bit longer I’d say than my old Philips Sonic brush but it lasts long enough.
If you’re considering this brush then I’d recommend it without hesitation.
I haven’t yet used the travel case for it but it’s a nice accessory.
This is my first electric toothbrush and I absolutely love it. They’re not cheap but I was able to buy mine on offer and I’m really glad I went for it. My teeth feel so clean after brushing, the extra brush heads are useful, especially the tongue cleaning head, and the battery life is very good. The timer function is great as well – I have issues with inattention and can easily forget how long I’ve been brushing for so this really helps with that. The light turns red if you’re brushing too hard, which is helpful too, and I find the brush heads last a decent amount of time. I also love that the rose gold looks quite fancy on the counter!
This toothbrush comes with a lot of different accessories, some of which I found useful and some I didn’t. The travel case is really handy, I’ve got a lot of use out of it and it also charges your toothbrush. I tried the Oral-B app out too, where I enjoyed the colour change function to personalise my toothbrush. It sounds a bit silly but it is fun! I haven’t really bothered with the rest of the app, the phone holder, Bluetooth functions etc as it all becomes a bit of a faff in my opinion.
All in all, I love this product and would absolutely purchase again.
I love my new toothbrush the power is very good compared to my old oral b electric brush . Different settings for actions such as tongue cleaning and polishing is superb
This is a true and honest review of this product. I purchased my first Genius 9000 a few years ago. I t had been great for a couple of years and then the baytery life got weaker and weaker. When my husband told me it was on offer at a main street store for 90, I jumped at the chance to replace. As soon as I took it from the delivery driver I a knew there was something wrong. The box wasn’t as big and it wasn’t anywhere near as heavy. That is because it wasn’t the same. The toothbrush seemed definitely lighter, the pack did not contain 3 brushes only 1, there was no separate head container box and the travel case did not have the charger in the bottom. Disappointed was not the word. When I checked on Amazon there was the Genius 9000, exactly the same as the one I had bought previously from Amazon. I returned it and ordered from Amazon. It was slightly dearer and still felt a bit lighter compared to my old one, but everything was there in the box. Should have checked Amazon first. I suppose if I hadn’t already got one I wouldn’t have known.
Having had one already I knew all the advantages of the Genius; the controlled timer, the number of alternative brushing techniques, the advantage of having the gum guard technology and pressure control, covering all the aspects of a good clean and helping to control the strength of your brushing. All positives in the fight to look after one’s teeth.
The only negative is the price coupled with the life of the battery. Only time will tell if this one matches up to my old one, but so far so good especially at this price.
Had the Oral B black power brush before this one, and have to say this is more powerful and gives a fantastic clean, works well with the oral b app. The travel case is great as it has the brush charger built in too, so no separate charger needed. Very pleased with this purchase.
Great toothbrush, took a while to figure out the different heads. Battery life is great, at least 10 days if not more. App is useful to understand your brush pattern and then know where to improve. Different settings handy, especially tongue cleaning.
I bought this for the long battery charge life and it doesn’t disappoint. As a bonus it really does clean your teeth well. I have to confess I haven’t used the ‘app’ or the Bluetooth connectivity. The extra complications would have been too much bother for me but I appreciate that for some people it may be useful and effective.
After my old Phillips Sonicare broke I was recommended this by my Hygienist I am unlikely to use the App with it, but other than that it does a great job
Teeth feel like they have been cleaned by a professional hygienist and the red warning of too much pressure is a welcome bonus. Timer function is brilliant and battery life means I don’t need to take my charger for short breaks.
(Very detailed review)
The product so far has been really good. The way it connects to the app and the tooth brushing guide is brilliant. (5star)
It has also encouraged my children to brush.
Over all cleaning (5star)
The carry case is stylish and over all the look of the product is very current. (5star)
The holder of the brush head could be improved would give it a (3 star).
The brushes don’t really clip in as I assumed but rather sit on top of the grooves, Slightly annoying when you try to get to your tooth brush head it moves the others out of place. If you have a bathroom charger the tooth brush base sits nice in the designated area.
If not then the tooth brush is way to small for the intended gap and kind of falls When you try to get your toothbrush. (3stars)
The main problem I have with it, is the app. You can only connect one toothbrush to the app which is ok if your one person using it.
As a family, it gets a bit annoying to use with the app as it picks up all the brushing times. You can’t add individual brush heads to the various people using it. Due to this feature it becomes hard to track who’s brushing is who’s.
If you plan on using it with the app just for yourself then it’s a 5 star.
If you plan on using this brush as a family without the app then it’s a 5 star.
One of the main reasons my kids love using it is because of the app.
I’m not ready to splash out on 5 different brushes. I also don’t feel like my kids would be responsible enough to keep on top of charging hence why I bought the one brush for now.
As a toothbrush cleaning I give this product (5star)
If the app and the holder were better designed I would have scored this a 5 star hence the 4 stars.
This is a great electric toothbrush but have found that using all the functions is a bit of a faff. Great if you like fussing about with mobile apps in the bathroom and brushing at the same time. I love the top setting but my wife uses the sensitive setting as it doesn’t cause sensitivity issues. The cheaper basic version like we had before would have done us just as well though.
This arrived yesterday and so far I absolutely love this product! The set up instructions are very helpful and the different brushes are great. However I think we are meant to receive 4 different brush heads and i got 3, 1 of which i got 2 of (see pic). Did anyone else get the same?
My only criticism is that it advertises UK plug but its the european 2 pin so thats pretty annoying!
When I first used this toothbrush it worked really well but lately it has not been tracking my brushing, stops and goes to the tongue brush slide on its own and is acting up. It’s brand new. Would appreciate someone to get in touch to help me sort it as I do want to keep it but would like it to work the way it’s meant to. Many thanks, Keri
Its Perfect toothbrush just i dodnt like that for that price they don’t give even adapter. Because one of contacts is EU and another is American. Why they can give adapter to UK.
These are great toothbrushes I only buy this brand, I like the fact they remember what the last symbol I was on saving me to keep pushing the button to the one i use. The App worked the 1st time but nothing since, for the price i expected singing n dancing to fireworks, my old toothbrush is a smart connect (battery dies fast now hence the upgrade) to a clock so turn that on just to see the timer going and the smiley face when I’m done 🙂
Really do like this toothbrush, it is a definite upgrade from my previous one. I would suggest that the battery life, although is definitely long enough for me, is not as long as the description suggest. I believe the manufacturer suggests two weeks…. however I have noticed needing to charged every week. Also price is quite high. Still, a great improvement on my last electric toothbrush that really was very old and I would recommend this! Happy customer!
Amazing ! Absolutely love this toothbrush, it really is brilliant and well worth the money. After only a few days my teeth and gums feel so much better, only downside is that it’s quite loud but I’m sure I will soon get used to that. The travel case that comes with it makes it ideal and easy to take away on both business trips and holidays. Comes with 4 toothbrush heads which will keep me going for a while. Love the rose gold colour and personalised pink light that you choose on e you download the oral b app.
I received the toothbrush as a gift for someone. I wanted to check the contents were all there and it seems I am missing one of the toothbrush attachments, there are two of the same brushes but missing one. I have tried to contact the supplier but have not received a response or the missing toothbrush. I have the same toothbrush myself and I really like it so I have bought another as a gift for a family member. I don’t actually use the Bluetooth so I can’t comment on that but overall I am happy with my toothbrush but would be nice to be able to give the gift complete and not missing a brush.
Very good toothbrush. It has a long battery life. I like the timer function that gives you a signal every 30 seconds and than a long one after 2 minutes. I’m not sure if I liked the app it may be that I didn’t place the phone holder in the right position but it didn’t always read very well toothbrush position. I used the app only for first couple weeks. The travel case is a very good feature. I had a problem with charging plug. All together I was happy with my purchase.
This toothbrush is the best one I have ever bought. I’ve had Oral B ones in the past but never paid more than 30 for them and they were okay but this one is so much better. The battery lasts much longer and I feel like my teeth are actually clean.
The Bluetooth function with your phone may not suit everyone but for me it’s great. I have gum disease and my dentist told my I don’t clean my teeth very well so it’s really great to be able to see if I’m cleaning all my teeth and it tells you which areas to do more. It’s even told me areas I brush too hard so I can’t work on that and improve my cleaning technique.
I’ve used pro clean and whitening and I’ve found both of them really good and my teeth are getting whiter. Very pleased with this toothbrush and have recommended to others already.
As a toothbrush it does great, therefore it deserves at least 4 stars.
For the price you pay, the extra gimmicks like bluetooth connection and mobile app is just a waste of time. Battery doesn’t last as long as you’d expect either, and I would recommend keeping it on the charging station at all times
I had a budget for a new electric toothbrush and this came up on offer so I was able to buy a more tricked out one for same price.
Charging
Compared to my last one the charging is amazing! I have charged it once and used it for at least two weeks without needing to charge again.
Features:
I love:
-the timer feature for 30 seconds per quarter of
-mouth and 2 minute final buzz.
-the colour of rose gold which is modern yet warm. -the carry case charger (although having to take the brush head off to fit it in makes too fiddly for home everyday use)
-the red warning light and buzz to let me know I am pressing too hard
-that there are different modes to choose from
What I don’t love:
The blue tooth feature: (in all fairness I haven’t tried it because of the below points)
-It asks you to attach and detach a sucker to your mirror everything you brush.
-To position your phone (and sucker) in front of your face every time and line it up right. (Securely, over water in a tiled environment)
-it assumes you have a wall attached mirror above your sink to do this on (I have a window with a textured surface)
-it assumes you CAN STAND upright in the same position whilst you brush your teeth.
So my issue with this is that, 1) it would take me 15 minutes to set that up every time,( not happening), 2) the mechanism is strong I do not have the hand strength to attach it (omg ow!) 3) I would have to rearrange my bathroom to have a seat facing a tiled wall to use it (err just no) and 4) I am not sure it would work because it would not be calibrated to my position, (may try it one day for kicks)
So, it is disappointing for me.
But……. No other issues, love it! If I bought it at full price only because of the Bluetooth feature I would be ticked off, but I didn’t so I am satisfied with it.
Good value and comes with a selection of heads ( without explanation !). Travel charging box included, and warns you if using too much pressure while brushing, something that I have always done. These are the main reasons I choose this model over the cheaper one. You also get an attachment for positioning your smartphone on your mirror for Bluetooth enabled feedback on your brushing habits- if you feel like you really need it. I had problems registering it online with Oral-B, but the customer support was excellent and immediate, and they did it for me.
Seems to have been over thought. While the novelty of staring at your phone to clean your teeth was fun for first 2 goes. Reality is do you really want a cradle stuck to your bathroom mirror all the time then have to set up phone and app just right or you just want to stick toothbrush in mouth and do exactly the same as you normally do
My old oral b gave up on me after about 6/7 years (it would need constant charging) so I decided to go for this new one. I love the rose gold colour and it has nice new features and what else to say ?? Whoever uses a oral b electric brushes will know how good they are. This one is very fast and strong brush compared to the cheaper versions of oral b. You can really feel the difference. Will definitely recommend
I bought this oral b genius 9000 at 89.99 so was well chuffed with the saving. No way would i have paid 299.99 for an electric toothbrush.
I bought it to replace my old sonic cheapo toothbrush and to say the least I’m quite impressed. My sonic toothbrush left my teeth feeling gritty so I went to the hygienist the day before it arrived.
Right from the word go I was impressed with the genius 9000. I have it on professional timer which pauses at 30 second intervals to remind you to move to the next side of your teeth and so on. There is also a standard timer that pauses after 2 minutes. The choice is yours. But i prefer the professional timer. It comes with 4 brush heads, 2 of which are 3D white. Travel recharging case included and two two pin plugs. One for the docking station and one for the case.
I only use the first setting which gives a more intense clean which I have to say is brilliant and keeps my teeth feeling like I’ve just visited the hygienist.
You can connect to your smart phone for more options but I find that just a gimmick. A toothbrush is a toothbrush and I don’t want to keep looking down at my phone to see if I’m brushing correctly. The option is there though. Simply download the oral b app from the play store or iOS store.
After using this electric toothbrush for a little over 2 weeks, I’m very impressed and would recommend it to anyone but like I said it’s not worth 299.99.
More updates to follow.
Purchased this from amazon and was sceptical about its claim as it was not cheap. However I was pleasantly surprised with its cleaning power and different brush heads. My teeth feel squeeky clean so much different to an ordinary toothbrush. I have not used it with my mobile because I don’t have that kind of time to set up the phone. The charger case is very handy. What would have been helpful is a 3 pin UK plug because I do not have the luxury of a shaver socket.
This product is really good, obviously its also really famous and there is a reason for it. It is really elegant, the little light shines into your mouth so you can see better what you are doing. I don’t use it with the app anymore as its too much hassle for me, but the buzzer indicates when to move onto next part of the teeth and when to finish. I have to charge it probably every three weeks, overnight so not too bad. The one head of the toothbrush that I am using lasts for over 5 months now so that’s good too. The only worry I suggest people investigate before buying this is that you have to ask your dentist whether you are at risk of receding gums. I think electric toothbrush when not used properly can really speed up the process of receding gums. Also google some videos on how to use el. toothbrush properly. One may think its obvious, but its not and there are actual techniques which are recommended by dentists so that you don’t damage your gums on a long term.
I love this toothbrush. It performs really well. My dental health is tonnes better in 6 weeks. The different settings are useful but I have not used it with the app yet. The charging travel case is a brilliant idea. This is not a cheap toothbrush however I personally think it has been worth the investment. The current amazon price was very competitive especially as a prime user. It is very noisy however and the replacement heads are generally quite expensive. However overall I would say this is a definite win!
Bought to replace older oral B toothbrush. It performs amazingly well and has diffferent settings. I use the deep clean one and it really leaves teeth feeling so smooth and polished. It also has Bluetooth so you can use an app on your phone to check you’re brushing correctly. I don’t use this. A red light will light up if you’re brushing too hard. The travel case is great, comes with adapter so you can plug the case in when using it whilst on holiday etc. A really great toothbrush.
I really like this toothbrush as it can make it easier to brush each section of the teeth for the recommended time. It comes with a Bluetooth link to a mobile phone app which to me is rather a gimmick and has no real use. They also advertise that it can monitor your brushing position. It does this through a mobile phone mount which you would attach to a mirror for example and then it uses the camera in the phone to see what you are doing – again rather gimmicky and of no real practical use.
However, the toothbrush itself is really good and the batteries last at least two weeks between charges. It comes with a nice hard carry case which incorporates the charger which makes it very convenient when on visits.
I LOVE my toothbrush. Have been using it for 6 months now and feel like my teeth have never been in better condition. Stopped using the smart phone app stuff after about a week as it’s very gimicky (honestly does anyone use it for a long period of time?!) Great that it comes with so many heads. Travel case very useful. Stays charged for a LONG time – at least 6 days when you use it twice a day. Can’t recommend it enough. Rose gold colour is beautiful too.
This is brilliant! I love the charging case, and, having had it for over a week, the charge lasts ages! There are five settings – again, a really useful feature which enables you to set the brushing to suit your needs. The colour is gorgeous and it is great to have a choice of brush heads – they may not all be right for you, but at least you can try a range and find the one you want. I have to admit, I have not yet downloaded the app to check my brushing. I know I should, and I probably will, but I don’t like the idea of having my lovely iPhone in the bathroom, being splattered with toothpaste – not even in the handy phone holder which comes in the pack.
For me, what makes this brush so good is that it does what it is meant to do! It cleans my teeth really well!
**BEWARE THE PLUG IS NOT UK**. I’ve been an oral B electric brush fan for years and this one is just as great as the previous one I’ve used but I will say – fully knowing this isn’t the point – that this brush is absolutely stunning. I love it and the fact that you get a travel case. I am taking one star off because of the non-standard European plug. Why, Amazon UK?! Still haven’t found an adapter to charge the brush. Such a hassle.
This is the first electric toothbrush I have owned for many years, and I must say, I really love it. I use it every day now, and have had no issues at all so far. A few key points worth considering:
The battery life is very good, and charging is very straight forward. Even after it starts to tell you it’s running low (red light), there’s a good few charges left, so as long as you’re not away without your charger for too long, you won’t have any issues.
The standard power/speed is fine, and I often brush on the ‘whitening’ setting as it is a higher frequency and I figured – hey, why not.
The extra 7 or so settings I think are a total gimmick – I doubt anyone out there uses them all, and I doubt there’s that much ‘dental science’ gone into designing them all. That said, if it’s something that’s important to you, I’m sure you’ll love them.
The app I have used only ever once when I first got the toothbrush, before realizing life’s too short. Brushing your teeth with the aid of an app I see as ‘an answer looking for a problem’.
New heads can be expensive – make sure to buy when on offer (they often are in stores or on Amazon) and you’ll save money.
All in all, a good toothbrush.
I paid ~$140/100 for mine which I think is a pretty reasonable price for something like this that I use twice a day. I probably wouldn’t pay much more however.
I think the question most people will ask is: “will this 140 brush clean my teeth better than a 40 model?”.
I can say “yes” but you may be able to get the same benefits from an 80 or 100 model and even then it’s hard to assess whether the benefits are really worth the money.
Most of the modes and Bluetooth etc are gimmicks to falsely create differentiation between models. Only two things elevate this model over a 40 unit – the lithium battery and the high speed mode (a tooth symbol with a “+” sign next to it in the photo).
The faster mode gives a significant speed increase over a cheaper model and I find with this mode and the lithium battery you get less power drop-off over time. You could use this mode for a better clean or a quicker clean. I keep mine on perma-charge (something that is less harmful to a lithium battery than a NiMH) but I clean my teeth for four minutes each time and the cheaper model would start tailing off a bit at the end where as this expensive model is still at turbo speeds.
My advice to buyers would be to find the cheapest model in the range that has the lithium battery and that super fast mode with the tooth and “+” symbol.
Everything else is just a gimmick. You won’t use any other modes, I turned off Bluetooth to save battery as soon as I got it and the packaged brush heads were all useless aside from the cross action. Only precision and cross action heads are any good in my opinion.
I knock a star off the score instantly for not having a three pin plug – none of my family, friends or work colleagues have a two pin plug in their houses let alone a large surface in the bathroom to keep the toothbrush on. Toothbrush and shaver manufacturers need to stop living in the fantasy world of TV commercials where everyone has massive bathrooms. I could knock another star off as you can probably get a model lower in the range that does the same job. That would be a bit unfair though. I do prefer this to the top of the range Philips Sonicare I used to have and consider it *THE* best toothbrush you can buy.
I’m just saying you can shop smarter and get the benefits for less.
I will also add that I’ve been using Oral B’s since the mid 90’s and they have bullet proof reliability unlike the Sonicare I had that broke after a matter of weeks! Could just be luck but that’s my experience for what it’s worth.
Also please ignore the instructions to remove the brush head after each use for cleaning. I found on previous models that this wore away the mounting on the body such that when brushing I was getting toothpaste/saliva solution leaking out at the bottom of the head and going all down my arm! At that point replacing the head wouldn’t fix it as the body itself was worn out and you don’t want that on a model this expensive!
I just wash it under the tap and give it a thorough clean when I change the head every six weeks or so (I’m a heavy user).
Very happy with this product. I bought it when it was on offer. I would not have spent full price on this product. The app functions are good to track your progress, etc. however i grew tired of them very quickly.
I havent used the travel case but I find it very useful and convenient.
It is a very good product and I am very happy I purchased, however, I think there are other less pricey brushes that would do the same job.
My dentist has become an electric toothbrush salesperson. The brand is one I have used before and I knew what I was getting. They’ve gone mad with the tech and now you can connect via Bluetooth as you brush (the data is useful apparently). The brush operates well, it has all the timing functions and cleaning options you’d expect for a modern electric brush. The vibration feels, odd at first, they claim you’ll see the whitening from the first usage, yes… don’t claim things randomly, after the first time did I notice a difference? No, but then I’m not buying it for the hype. Next time I go to the dentist I’ll know if it has done all the things I bought this to do. Until then I’ll use it as directed and see if and when I notice a difference.
