Oh my goodness. It’s like a hot knife cutting butter. The biggest problem is to know when to stop as it’s like cutting hair, you keep going, until you have none left. I love the curved blade as this wraps itself around the branch. Thickest cut was a 3 inch branch, but I’m sure, if I was brave it could cut up to six inches. I’m really pleased with this, and would recommend rather than a chainsaw as you have better control.
This is a cracking wee pruning saw. Super, super sharp! Its holster is very good, sits well on the belt without any obstruction. The saw itself is very comfortable and well balanced with a very smooth cut. Will deal with fairly large branches if needed without being over taxing. I’d highly recommend this saw. Must say I’m never disappointed with Oregon products. Always good quality at very keen prices.
This is a fantastic saw, it comes in a high quality scabbard which is both excellent for storage or for wearing on your belt when working.
The saw is incredibly sharp and gets a lot more usable after the first few uses. It is so sharp when brand new that it takes some pulling while cutting as each cut is very aggressive.
It has helped make short work of some heavy pruning work and has taken on tasks that previously would have meant getting out a large bow saw or even firing up the chainsaw.
Excellent all round.
The only negative about this saw is getting it out of the scabbard for the first time, as there are no instructions about this.
Apart from that, it is an amazing pruning saw and so sharp too.
Much easier to use than a 21 inch bowsaw for the getting to difficult places.
I should have bought one ages ago!
I researched a lot of these and though I could find a bargain, I purchased one which stated it was a Japanese pro saw and when it arrived it was cheap and flimsy. I ended up buying this for a extra fiver and it was money well spent.
I was not that happy to spend 40+ on a hand saw. However, it has proven it’s value many times over.
The saw is razor sharp and it has stayed pretty sharp despite many months of use. I have used it to renovate a large beech hedge, prune numerous fruit trees etc and it has made the jobs a lot easier than they might have been.
10 out of 10.
As a professional gardener of 35years i found this to be the best saw by far so far, i have not tried the silky yet though. Easy and fast cutting branches up to 5inch green no prob. As with most saws hard dead wood slows it down. Brought it because the blade detaches. Attached this th pole pruner. Good saw for hieght stuff. Blade does not flex like a lot of saws. Actually works best at slow purposefull stokes. Worth the money.
This saw is extremely efficient. The curved 13″ blade makes short work of thick branches and even trunks up to 8″” in diameter, the thickest I have had to remove so far. Comfortable in the hand the saw is light yet robust. The scabbard or sheath is strong and can be worn with a belt fitted through the loops moulded into the scabbard. The only minor criticism is that the safety catch on the scabbard does not engage the saw correctly and it can be drawn from the scabbard without releasing the catch.
I volunteer with a group who manage the woodlands at a nature reserve. The group bought these saws which are the best of all the kit they have. So good I bought one for myself to use on trees and hedges at home.
This product is great very light weight with a great rubberized handle allowing for a great grip. The blade is ultra sharp and a sharp tool is a safe tool. This is made even safer with a sheath that has a safety catch which requires a good bit of force to release. I don’t think a child would be able to remove the saw from the cover for safety conscious parents.
I used it quickly to remove a 4 inch elder branch, was a dreamy process. I have read reviews about the quality of the steel so I just oiled the blade before storage which I would recommend to anyone.
Overall very happy.
Have been using this weekly now for almost 12 months, still as sharp and will cut branches up to 6 inches easliy, one note to clean out the bottom of the holster as this can get clogged with sawdust, aslo if used in the wet dry out of the holster after use.
Very sharp and easy to use, cuts quickly with minimum effort.
On the negative side, the belt loop started to pull apart after about 10 mins of use, so I may have to fashion a repair at some point.
And it would have been nice if it were supplied with left straps.
Goes through thicker branches than I expected. I have a large garden where branches hang low and it is perfest for pruning them. Just remember the cutting action only works as you pull towards you.
