I really like the process, is less hair growing up and after longer time.
The first time is painful but because I didn’t use wax or something before, just razor. For the first month you need to take after the zone, exfoliating, and put some moisturiser to keep the zone nice.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this item as I was sick of shaving all the time and having dry and itchy legs. I expected some pain but my god, this is painful for the first time. I had to take some breaks but was delighted once it was done. It lasted a week before I felt like I should do it again and there was significantly less hairs and it was almost painless!

Once you get through the first try, the pain is barely there and I cannot recommend it enough. I cannot see me going back to shaving as this is so much better and I’m doing it far less.

The machine is very noisy though but that doesn’t bother me

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had an epilator years ago and gave up on it because it hurt too much (wimp!). I decided to give one another go because the reviews all indicated minimum discomfort. It works really well and the reviewers were quite correct, the discomfort is minimal and easily managed. Glad I got it.

I bought this last week and I must say it’s very very useful. I used to do the razor and waxing but this is very easy and without any mess. The most important thing it’s painless. It makes my skin so smooth that I just love it.

A must-have product. I would recommend buying it.

Got it today and just used it. I had my underarms and lower legs lasered around 12 years ago. Some sparse hair remains and I’ve used a similar device (much more expensive) to remove them for a while. But I was getting frustrated as it wasn’t very effective. This however, is very effective! Just used it. Legs and underarms are both feeling smoother than they have it years, it was relatively quick, very easy to use and not that painful at all. I’m very impressed and would definitely recommend. Only drawback is the noise!
I’ll update in time if anything changes.

This epilater is brilliant and takes every bit of hair of. Legs, arms and armpits. As it has to be used being plugged in it’s very powerful in comparison to others. Some reviews say it’s a torture machine and super painful. I don’t find it super painful at all. The first time it pinched a bit more but after that it really doesn’t hurt anymore. My skin doesn’t necessarily feel super smooth which I don’t mind at my age (40) but it looks super smooth for at least a week and the regrowth is not as noticeable as it is after shaving. Be prepared for red itchy lumps where the hairs got pulled out for about 1h after epilating. I usually epilate in the evening and by the morning my skin looks normal again. Can definitely recommend this traditional one especially at this price. P.s. I’m the wife of the poster and not a man randomly epilating legs and arms 😉

This is so much better than my old Braun epilator. Not as noisy as I was expecting from the reviews I had seen. Very efficient and only missed a few fine hairs.

I have spent a lot on high end epilators which just go blunt after a few months so I thought I’d go for a basic one and it works so much better. Easy to hold and lightweight. The plug in models have a lot more power than the cordless. Will be getting this one again when it gets blunt.

Bern waxing for years and wish I had this years ago so much easier and can get to the back of my legs without contorting my body both strange positions and way less messy!!

Used it on my legs and arms for the first time, my leg hair wasn’t very long yet it still did a good job, wasn’t as painful on my arms which I’m surprised about! Though my arm hair was also short from using hair removal creams and because of how fine they are already I’ll have to wait for the hair to grow a little longer next time for a better job. Overall it’s good, don’t see the point in spending 100 for something when you can spend 25 and it does the exact same job.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersI have been epilating pretty much head to toe for about 17 years. I have always used the Braun epilator which looks very similar to this one is size, appearance and price point. I end up replacing it every year or so because the motor eventually burns out. I thought I’d give this one a shot; I expected it to be pretty much identical but hoped maybe the motor might last longer. Well it turns out I have been needlessly torturing myself for 17 years because epilating apparently doesn’t have to be an excruciating and bloody experience. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still going to hurt, but this little thing is an absolute beast. I used to have to run my old epilator over the same patch of skin multiple times to get all the hair and it would end up taking a layer or two of skin with it just for fun… I thought that was the price of being feminine and it quite frankly stoked the fires of my contempt for the patriarchy. This little beauty is effortless, efficient and may even encourage me to tackle the tangled forest more than twice a year. It literally took me about 2 minutes per leg. Cannot recommend it enough!

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersAs somebody who uses one of these all over every 4 weeks and has done for over 30 years, (probably the first ones!!!!), I am sick of epilators burning out. I already have a quite elderly, Phillips cordless one, which I love for underarms as I can take it into my bright bathroom to see, and, being singularly unimpressed with the more expensive ones these days, I thought I had nothing to lose. Had it a couple of months now and I can’t really fault it. It is not a bells and whistles machine but, who uses all those attachments anyway????? It is much better than a very expensive model I have and faster too. There is not an epilator on the planet which removes every hair in one pass but this is as good as any, and better than most!!!!!! It is easy to grip and the cable is nice and long, unlike my very expensive model, so I can reach everywhere without having to use an extension cable AND, again unlike my very expensive model, it has a 3 pin UK plug, so no need for an adapter that the 2 pin plugs are too easy to pull out of!!!!!! Rules of easy epilation, make sure skin is clean and bone dry. Talc, then brush off with a dry body brush or it will wreck your machine, keep skin taught to avoid catching and don’t press onto skin. So many friends come sporting bruises and can’t work out why. Lol. If this lasts like my cordless one, I will be sticking with Phillips from here on.
Very happy with this little gem, especially for what it cost. Thank you Phillips!!!!!!!

I have always used epilators and Philips is one of the best. Neat little item, light weight with two speed settings. You need to get over the pain once you do that it’s great smooth legs for ages. The longer you leave it the more it hurts.

This is small and light. Will be great for travel. It’s easy to use and works wonderfully. Just as good as the old fancy one that I had previously. No problem with it only having one head as I really only used one of the heads on my previous one once the novelty had worn off. Slight inconvenience with it being corded but it’s great value.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis epilator is definitely worth every penny, especially for 20! It removes hair efficiently and it’s really fast and less painful than waxing! Not to mention a lot less messy as well!
I have another epilator which is a cordless one and it was far more expensive and I can say that this one is better at removing hair from my legs and arms because it has more power than the cordless ones, I would definitely recommend this product and would definitely purchase one again without a doubt!

I just want to say, this product is absolutely amazing. I can not express how happy I am with my purchase. This is one of those purchase that I’m glad I brought. I was hesitant at first. Only downfall is that it needs to stay plugged in while you’re using it. But that doesn’t affect the usage of this product. First time trying these and at first it hurt abit but nothing you can’t bare. It’s been 3 weeks and my hair is just about growing now. How amazing is that. 100% recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great item

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI thought I’d give this a go since shaving is time-consuming and the wax strips I tried were useless.

The epilator is small and light, perfect size for a makeup bag, but it is very loud even on the slower setting. The cord for charging is a great size and not easy to tangle.

So yes, most of the hair on my legs is easily removed but there were a few bits that I had to go over a couple times to remove. The pain wasn’t unbearable but my legs were quite red after. That’s a normal reaction though.

I bit the bullet and tested this on my chin, as I’m one of those women who are unfortunately follicly endowed. The pain was much worse no matter what I did and not all of the hair was getting removed, but it was thinned out.

Overall I recommend this but warn you that not all hair may be removed in one swipe, regardless of how slow you go!
A couple tips I have is: stretching the skin area you’re working on will aid in hair removal and pain level! If you dare try this on facial hair as I have, apply a hot towel to the area for a couple minutes beforehand to soften the hair and relax the follicles. But honestly I don’t think it’s worth trying this on stronger, thicker hair – thus I don’t think I’ll try it on my underarms or bikini line, nor would I recommend it! Exfoliating the area beforehand is also recommended as less dead skin makes for a smoother experience and blood flow to the area will help with pain too.

If you’re concerned about the pain, know that it depends on your own pain threshold, but it will hurt. I’d describe the pain as similar to a hot needle sensation that fades very quickly.

I bought this for my sisters birthday as her old one broke but she says this one is a much better shave and less painful. You do need to stand near an outlet which can be a pain but I think the pros outweight that condition.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am a wax girl and I’ve been waxing myself for 3 years but it was taking me too long & I had to spent money on wax every 2 months.
I’ve decided to give this epilator a go cause it’s cheap and I’m not that scared of the pain anyways
On most places on my body I couldn’t feel any pain at all! It took all of the hair no problem and it was waaaaay faster than waxing! Amazing, will definitely use it whenever I can!
Also a little bonus: I was going on holiday so it was very handy to take my epilator with me and use it abroad. 5/5

I bought this as a cheap stopgap when my Braun Silk-epil 7 stopped working after years of service. This thing is so good that I won’t be buying a more expensive epilator. It’s very effective on short hairs. Surprisingly, it hurts much less than the Silk-epil—it’s the least painful epilator I have owned. Downsides: can’t be used wet (this doesn’t bother me), it’s loud.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy daughter was raving about these. I remember them first coming on sale and people being less than impressed so I needed some convincing. I’ve done my own waxing for 20 years so it was a big leap. I bought corded because I always feel the power is better than battery but I suspect it makes no difference.
It is fantastic. No more heating wax up. If you miss some just go back over. Not convinced the light is of any help, I prefer to do in bright daylight snyway. It prickles as the hairs come out I would say this might hurt a bit for someone very hairy but for me it’s just fine. It works a treat, is beyond convenient and it’s my new favourite thing

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this as I suffer from PCOS and have the worst very thick coarse hairs down my chin and neck. The epilator says for legs but I decided to give it a go after being in despair shaving every single day to keep on top of growth. Little face epilators seem to be made just for peach fuzz, not thich hair issues like mine.

It does hurt, but not as badly as I expected. I made the mistake of doing some one day then going back the next morning to finish off… I don’t recommend this. It seemed to hurt a lot more the second day as my skin felt bruised. If you can I really advise trying to do the whole area in one sitting. It took me quite a while, but the skin was very smooth after so I’m pleased with the results.

Now to wait and see how long it takes to grow back. For the level of pain involved I’m hoping not to have to do it more than monthly.

The epilator itself is small, light and easy to use. The cord is long enough too so it’s not awkward.

I LOVE this product and wish I had bought one years ago. It has already made such a difference not needing to shave my legs and under arms every week. TEN STARS. I bought the corded one so always in full power. The cord is a good length so not stretching it when in use. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is simply the best epilator. I’ve tried the Braun silk-epil which was much more expensive and I didn’t find it as effective though it was (maybe) more comfortable to use. My daughter preferred the Braun so I gave it to her and bough this to replace my *ancient* Philips Satinelle which had become a bit erratic/slow. I’ve been epilating for years so now only need to do it two or three times a year as I think my follicles have just given up the fight!

I love this product because you hardly feel the hair being ‘taken’ – far better that my last one of a different brand.
It’s not very sturdy but then, its cheap as chips – but this makes it light = bonus!
The only issue I would say is the amount of plastic from the ‘teeth’ to the side – not sure a new design could reduce this and it still maintain efficacy –
definitely recommend and its a lovely price.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI used to own one of these when I was a teenager but then laser came along. But it has saved my life since I can’t do laser anymore! It saved me so much money on threading too! Although the package says it’s for legs only they all pretty much do the same thing anyway, so I’ve used it on my face on the lower setting. It literally took me 1 minute to pluck all the hairs when it usually takes 20 minutes to do a full threading not to mention all the money you waste going every few weeks! If you’re going to use it on the face though make sure you hold your skin firmly with one hand and gently go over each area once. You may experience redness but it will go away after a while. If your skin’s super sensitive though, I’d stay away from the face area! But really happy with this purchase and the price too!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have never had acupuncture nor micro needles, but this is perhaps the closest I have ever been to either. The ripping out hairs is painful, especially on fleshier skin like thighs or calves. But I am amazed, reading reviews I thought it will never get close to my blond fine hairs because despite being blessed with invisible hairs, I cannot stand razors missing chunks and feeling scratchy. But this machine rips them out and I am finally smooth. Red raw but smooth.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI purchased this to use mainly on my face. I was fed up of daily plucking with tweezers I had tried waxing at the salon which was good but having to schedule appointments into my busy schedule did not always work plus I was plucking in between visits I had purchased wax strips and kits to use at home but that was messy and time consuming.
So when this arrived I really hoped this was the answer to my problems I expected it to be painful but I was pleasantly surprised after the initial first few hairs it was less painful than waxing or plucking. No mess done in the comfort of my own home at my convenience it seems to be the perfect solution. It is comfortable to hold and use, the long cord does not restrict its use, the added attachments are a bonus as it doubles up as a shaver. I really have nothing negative to say about it definitely a 10 out of 10 for me

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersIf you’re looking for a completely pain free hair removal option then epilating with this device or any other device is not for you.
It does hurt, however it does become bearable after the first few minutes.
It is not a get up and go hair removal option, your legs will be red with bumps and a little sore for at least 12 hours however this can be soothed with moisturizer.
The device itself is great for beginners or for those who want to try out epilating before buying a more expensive device. It is quite small so takes a little longer than the more expensive bigger devices but it does what it says – removes hair from the root.
If you have dark coarse hair that grows back quickly than epilating is for you.
It’s a lot easier than the chargeable devices as it doesn’t suddenly run out of battery.

To make your epilating experience more comfortable I highly recommend soaking in a warm bath and exfoliating with a scrub beforehand. Always make sure you epilate against the hair and keep at a 90 degree angle. Use lots of moisturizer afterwards & don’t let your hair grow too long before epilating again as it can snap the hair off instead of pulling it out at the root.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI read many reviews for this product before deciding to take the plunge. I’ve not got a particularly high pain threshold, so I consider myself quite brave about purchasing a device that effective rips your hair out at the root over large parts of your body.

The product is quite small, easy to hold and before you turn it on, looks quite innocuous. When turning it on, it does transform into a very angry sounding device and with it’s whirling rippy implements (akin to gnashing teeth), I did have to summon up the courage to put the device on my leg.

The first patch of hairs to be ripped out did cause me to utter several expletives, but I persevered and was surprised how quickly my brain adjusted to the pain threshold. I also found that there are certain parts of your body that hurt more than others e.g. when you hit a more sensitive spot, you are more inclined to go over the area that you first thought really hurt, because in comparison it was a walk in the park.

As mentioned by another reviewer, when the ripped out hair grows back, the next time you use the device, the regrowth is removed easier and doesn’t feel quite as painful. I have so far been brave enough to do my lower legs several times and the hair is taking around 2 weeks to come through. However, I was surprised how much it hurt on my upper legs and thighs. I incorrectly thought it would hurt more on areas with thinner skin, but I was wrong, so I am having to limit the ripping on the tops of my legs to small patches over several days.

I did have a few red blotches after using, but now my skin is adjusting to my new ‘torture’ regime, the skin is not looking so angry.

I have also purchased a Philips IPL machine, so hoping that between ripping and zapping, I will be hair free on my legs within 6 months.

It is a bit painful, you do have to go over the same area several times, but if you can tolerate the discomfort, in the long run it is better than shaving or waxing.
