About Us

Philips was founded in 1891 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, by Frederik Philips and his son, Gerard. Recognizing the opportunity presented by the mass-market introduction of electricity, and inspired by Gerard’s keen interest in scıence and engineering, the pair soon conceived a bold but timely plan: cost-effective, reliable electric incandescent light bulbs. The 1900s were a time of dramatic social and economic change. During this time, Philips became the largest private employer in the Netherlands.

Recognizing the value of scientific research to product innovation, the Philips research laboratory – known as ‘Philips Nat Lab’ – opened in 1914. Led by Dr Gilles Holst, it aspired to the highest standards of research, embarking on visionary projects, such as investigating emerging lighting technologies to discover new sources of light, while its breakthroughs in X-ray tubes ultimately marked the origin of Philips’ involvement in health technology.

Bought this due to my old one dying a death. Feared there would be something wrong with it due to the low price? But, NO exactly the same as my old one! Absolutely bargain. Thankyou!!

A good size brush head – not too large, not too small. 2 different speeds, a fast one and a slower one. Battery life is lengthy. Perfect toothbrush, especially for those with sensitive teeth/gums.

I cant fault this model works as well as my previous 2100 model which lasted years. One thing I will say is that paying the extra for an alarm that warns if you’re brushing too hard maybe useful for those new to sonic brushing, but for those that have the hang of them I think the basic does the job just as well.

Have owned a Sonicare in the past but it started to become a bit weaker. This one is super powerful and love the additional feature which warns you if you brush too hard!

Have not had it long enough to give a proper and fair review, but, all I can say at the moment, that it is a better electric toothbrush than my previous make, the one most dentists recommend – Oral B

It started to bzzz with no pressure after one year. I filled out a support request on the Phillips website and got the replacement for free, without any fuss.

Good experience with support, but funny enough, my previous Phillips toothbrush malfunctioned the same way after four years.

Which means it’s a common problem which contributes to e-waste, and Phillips hasn’t fixed it.

I’ve tried a sonic toothbrush before but was nothing like this!
First use was tickly and took a little getting use to. But the clean is next level! Never thought I’d be happy moving away from a rotating brush but I am sold!
It has four timers per 2 minute cycle so u can work through each quarter of your mouth giving enough time to focus on each one. Glad I made the switch. Very pleased!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the best Sonicare I’ve owned. It’s light weight, powerful, and simple. I don’t need the bells and whistles of more expensive models. My concern is that it will fail within 3 years like every other Sonicare I’ve had. Philips products are not built to last.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI would give this 5 stars but as it a replacement for my old one which is exactly the same I shall not. My old one just died after about 3 years , the battery that’s built in would no longer hold a charge. I would have expected it to last longer than that. Hoping this one will last at least 5 years

I originally wrote off Sonic technology after buying a cheaper Non-phillips sonic brush and being dissatisfied with the clean, but after using this 4300 I won’t be going back to my old Oral B. Teeth feel and look clean, quieter to operate, and I hear that the battery lasts a month.

This Tooth brush is the best I’ve ever had, Used to buy the Oral B stuff, this knocks the socks off them. Even the battery life is better – Been using my one for 2 weeks now, and still does not recharging.
    Highly recommended

Although at first the toothbrush doesn’t seem to clean as well as a rotary brush this is not the case. Sorted out my gum issues very quickly.

Not bad, middle of the road electric toothbrush. Doesn’t come with 2 pin plug adapter so you should purchase one at the same time.

I came back to review this because I was frustrated that it didn’t really seem to last. However, when I checked when I actually bought this it was back in September 2019 – almost four years ago. That’s pretty good! It provides a brilliant clean and I never seem to need to charge it, but the heads are very expensive, thus the -1 star. I’m going to rebuy and hope the next one lasts me just as long.

The item number is the one WITHOUT the travel case, but the photo and listing includes it. I had to phone Philips to get the case!!!

Excellent tooth brush but it did break and Phillips exchanged it no problem – excellent return and replace service.

The toothbrush is great and have no issues. Only problem is the picture and description say you get a travel case but my package arrived and it was not included.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought The pink version for by wife as I have been using a Sonicare for several years and find it very much better than the more common rotary toothbrush .

One problem, however, the supplied, plastic travelling case is useless. The toothbrush body does not fit into it and ‘snap’ fastening does not work at all.

Effective product with 2 minute timer and 30 second vibrations to signal move to each section of teeth. Plus a different and noticeable vibration if you are brushing too hard. I recommend registering the product online with Philips to get an extra year’s guarantee. One of ours has just been replaced at no charge when the handle gave problems.

Only had a few weeks so can’t comment on battery, but it seems to be doing great.
Love the timer function, takes the effort out of keeping time while using it.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersMy very first electric toothbrush was an old Philips version but when that one died after many years use I decided to try Oral B and chose the Pro 3000. I didn’t want all the App. based rubbish, just a good electric toothbrush. I’ve been using the same Oral B for some years now

I wondered about replacing my Oral B with a newer version but decided to try Philips Sonicare again

This one has the same cleaning (62,000 strokes a minute) as their more advanced models but, again, I didn’t want/need all the fancy bits like App. based etc

I immediately put it on charge and left it for a while until fully charged before trying it out

Wow! What an amazing clean this thing does. It definitely cleans better than the Oral B I have been using all this time

The brush head looks like a normal manual brush only smaller whereas the Oral B uses a round head. I thought I may not get on with this new shape but because it’s a small head there was absolutely no problems whatsoever

The only ‘smart’ thing this Philips toothbrush has is BrushSync which monitors your use and lights up the BrushSync light on the handle when it’s time to change the brush head, apart from that it has two speeds but I only use it on the highest setting

All in all I think it’s an extremely good brush and not too expensive either

    Highly recommended

UPDATE: I’ve been using this Sonicare toothbrush since I received it and it has only just flashed up that it needs a charge; so it lasted exactly one month between charges which I think is very good. It’s been an amazing product and my teeth look and feel extremely clea

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m not going to lie, I purchased this just for the colour thankfully it’s a great toothbrush too, it gives a great clean, it’s easy to clean and has a decent battery life.
You can change the head for a variety of styles, which is a great feature.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBought it for myself just before Christmas and for 49.99 it’s pretty good, my husband got himself the 7900 series that was on offer for 89.99 and I wish I had done the same, although this one is good, it’s no way as good as the higher series, the travel case is just cheap and doesn’t even close, there aren’t many functions to this one, softer and harder brushing and that’s it. The auto switch off after while gets on my nerves a bit, but it works and it was cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. If I was to buy a replacement, I’d upgrade to the higher series as the functions are way superior and it has usb charging in the the travel case as well, which this one doesn’t.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersLikes:
    – battery life. First full charge lasted just over 3 weeks, much better than the 2 weeks advertised (used twice a day on max vibrate). This and price are probably the most important factor in buying for me
    – dual speed vibration option
    – price (much more keenly priced than all the unnecessary Bluetooth enabled and app-connected brushes)

    Dislikes:
    – colour. I went for the black one as it was approx 30 cheaper than white at the time. Of course I could have paid more if I was desperate
    – travel case. Looks, feels and is cheap/poor quality. Like others have said, it doesn’t really hold anything firmly in place. Having said that I generally take a good old fashioned manual toothbrush when travelling
    – no usb charging capability. It needs the philips charger with the two pin plug.

Overall, despite my minor dislikes, it is a good brush at a good price and I am happy

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI got this after my partner got an electric toothbrush after she had been umming and ahhing about getting one for some time.
She said after the first use her teeth had never felt so clean.
So with that comment I thought I’m going to have to get one and see what all the fuss is about.
The one I got was the same make,Phillips. And I have to say after my first use my teeth definitely did feel a lot cleaner than when I use a manual brush.
I know dentist have recommended these for some time now but to be honest I always thought it was just a money making scheme.
I am glad to say with my experience this is not the case and since getting this electronic toothbrush my old manual brush is now a thing of the past and in the bin.
I do have to point out that after three weeks of usage it did start to make a bit of a louder noise and after going through the Philip’s trouble shooting guide on there website I was advised to return it which I did and I have to praise Amazon they sent me a new one promptly and so far so good.
Sometimes it is possible you get a defective item but Amazon’s return/replacement options are second to none.
Back to the toothbrush and a couple of features which are already mentioned but every 30 seconds the brush will vibrate just a little different for a second or so to tell you 30 seconds has past until the 2 minute mark when the brush will just turn off.
This I find is a great feature as is the fact it knows when your toothbrush head needs replacing depending on how much usage and pressure has been used over the period of time.
I feel like only having to replace the head helps the environment a little as your not having to throw away a full length plastic toothbrush and your just replacing a smaller section so this is a big plus.

The only one niggle is the fact it is a European plug and so you will need an adapter for use in the UK. Luckily I had a spare from a previous shaver.

Overall I am very pleased so far with this toothbrush and hopefully last some time. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely cleans better than a manual brush.
