I really didn’t want to carry a travel potty as I didn’t want to be carrying it after my child had been to the toilet in it and have to clean it after. I found these bags which fit into most travel pottys and they are brilliant. You can tie them up and throw them in the bin after.
Whilst 43p per plastic bag is a bit steep, we have found that we don’t actually need to use it that much, so the bag of 30 lasts ages (only when she needs to go when we’re out and about all day basically). Our daughter is potty trained but will declare that she needs to go with very little notice, and with an immediate ‘need’. These bags make the whole process about as pleasant as it can be for all involved, so would recommend.
I’ve tried many cheaper bags to save money but these are the best. Very absorbant, sturdy, no leeks and overall great quality. Brilliant for days out if there’s no loos available for little ones who needs to go now.
It didn’t take long for me to get sick and tired of so many, well-meaning, people enthusiastically recommending all manner of baby and toddler things to buy and, frankly, I happily ignored all of them with the exception of the Potette, which is an absolute game-changer.
Of course, this review is for a pack of refill liners, not the Potette itself, so all I can say is that the liners are as you’d expect – they’re absorbent, easy to fit to the Potette, and can even be used on their own, should the need arise. I mean, Potette ownership is basically agreeing to being included in a monopoly, so you don’t have a great deal of choice in liners and they are, in reality, expensive for what they are, but they’re still awesome.
My eight year old still occasionally uses this of caught short out and about! I just keep them in the boot for emergencies – one time half way through the monkey enclosure at longleat! Brilliant invention!!
These are great. I would recommend these for 100% above cheaper non branded ones. We’ve tried a few and come back to these every time. They have a little absorbency pad in the bottom which we find does help with a bit less mess when tying them up and they fit better than alternative products on the pottette potty we have. Awesome product for potty training. No splitting like we had on cheaper ones.
These are one of my greatest buys. They are great for potty training. But even better when you have more than one child under 5/6. Especially if your out and about and can’t find toilet facilities. Now with Covid19 and restrictions that’s even more of a possibility. The quality and absorbancy of the bags are great.
I use these for my Potette potty when we are out in the buggy. Do the job really well and my daughter enjoys seeing the turtles disappear. Happy with my purchase and will buy again.
Absolutely brilliant design, kids trainer on this years ago but because the travel potty is such a clever compact design it lives in the car boot and even comes camping with us so even if they are caught short it’s no drama.
Fits the pottet perfectly!
I bought original bags with the potty 8 years ago but these are very different. It makes the wee turn blue as the dye runs into the urine.
Great for tying and bagging and taking home.
The potette is brilliant! So handy for travel and I’ve even just taken a bag with me on the train/ plane for an emergency! They aren’t cheap but they work!
Bought these to go with our travel potty. I know you can by the cheaper alternatives but none of them fit like these proper ones and I certainly dont want to be moping up accidents when we are out and about. For an extra few pounds to buy the real ones I think it’s worth it. My little girl also likes the frog design on the bottom which encourages her to use it!
I have bought cheaper versions of these bags and they are not as good, as they leak and do not absorb well. These are great. Reliable, do the job they are supposed to and you don’t have to worry about them leaking. Buy cheap, buy twice. Get these and it’s worth the extra cost.
Brilliant liners for the potette plus portable potty I purchased (from John Lewis) some while back for my 3 year old. The liners aren’t cheap (but I can’t complain as they work out cheaper than nappies considering the amount the potty is used) and not many high street shops stock them, so was pleased to see that they sell them on here and are a bit cheaper. The potette potty is brilliant, there have been so many occasions in which my daughter has needed the toilet but there wasn’t one nearby and the potty was there to save the day! In my opinion an absolute must have for any parent with a toddler!
Although these are quite expensive, I actually haven’t needed to buy any new ones. They are great to use with the potette potty as you just tie up the bag and throw it in the bin when you’re out and about, no need to find somewhere to empty a full potty!
I initially thought that these were a complete gimmick and wouldn’t use any beyond the free ones that came with the seat but, oh my god how wrong I was. These are perfect for emergencies or car trips, especially in the winter where it would just be cruel to get your child on the potty outside.
Love the potiette and these work with it. Only down side is I think they’re on the pricey side for what are theoretically plastic bags but at the end of the day it saved us some accidents so I can’t complain.
Expensive but invaluable. I used the Potette loads when my twins were potty training and even now they have mastered it, it is still useful to have the potty and these bags when we are out and about in case there isn’t a toilet within easy reach. Also good to use if the toilet isn’t very clean! So easy to use and dispose of the bags – I would recommend a Potette to anyone with small children.
At 30p a wee these work out pretty pricey to use so I experimented making my own with medium plastic sandwich bags and folded paper towels. Not the most successful! The little square thing in these is actually really really absorbent and useful. Plus my little girl loves weeing on the froggies that are printed on it. Ah the joys of potty training!
Only 4 stars as I have the old potette so they are a little big round the side. However they do a good job. This is my 2nd pack. Used loads when 1St potty training now just take with me for long journeys in car or if going out for long walks.
These are amazing. We keep buying them as they are just so useful for emergencies! I’ve heard some people say that you can make your own liners with a carrier bag and tissue, but most carrier bags still have holes in so I just can’t get how they do that!! Also now we have to pay for carrier bags, well you may as well just buy these instead and get something fit for purpose!!
I discovered these with my 2nd Daughter and wish I had known about them when I had my first as, without sounding over dramatic, they changed my life! No more running around with a full potty trying to find somewhere to empty and clean it when out and about. Once I had finished potty training I kept this in the car ready for any kiddie emergencies on long journeys. I now use the bags as sick bags for my daughters travel sickness. Brilliant idea, brilliant product. Every parent should be given one in their bounty packs!
Couldn’t be without these,my daughter 7 now and been potty trained since she was 1,we still have these in our car,the amount of times that my daughter uses these bags instead of having to stop! Also when I got bad travel sickness I had no choice but to use this product, and I can confirm they can hold vomit and adult wee
These are brilliant, have saved us on a couple of occasions when out and about. Not cheap but if you only have them for emergencies when your little one can’t hold it in – or going to the park where no toilets etc these are great. The potty that goers with them is used daily as a toilet seat, best thing we’ve bought as it folds up easily to go in your bag.
Expensive but SO worth it. This potty is just the best thing. Wish I had knows about it with my first child. I didn’t need toomany bags cos wherever there is a toilet I fold the potty out to sit on it so it’s even quicker and easier. The bags are handy for a long car journey or if you have no access to a toile
Not exciting, but they are the best thing to use if you have the potette travel potty and I find this a great product while potty training my daughter and now as a travel potty for either of my young children. They don’t leak and they absorb some of the liquid with the inner pad section. Useful and recommended if you have the potette.
Ok the price of these is no short of painful considering they are PLASTIC bags…. However the gel pad at the bottom is genius – after a moment or so even the biggest wee has been turned to gel (ideal when you’re on the move. I tend to carry the potette folded but with the bag already in so it can be used immediately
Don’t skimp on cheaper alternatives. The number of times you use these is infrequent as most toddlers learn fast to go before a journey.
What you need is mess free experiences for both toddler and parent.
Also its very civil putting a closed bag in a bin than gaffing about with other systems.
These are worth every penny in that regards.
Recommend these for trips out. I use them with an ordinary potty, BUT beware. The first time I used it I didn’t hold down the liner as my lad stood up. Oops, wee all over socks, pants and shorts. Absolutely not fault of product which is designed to go with its special potty and it hasn’t happened since coz we are very careful to hold liner down as he stands up. 🙂
I bought these liners to go with the pottete travel potty and we have used them so many times. they are a life saver if you are in the park or on the way somewhere and you hear those fateful words, “mummy I need a wee wee!” just pull over, clip the legs of the potty in place, let your child do their business, tie up the bag and dispose. I cannot recommend them enough
Bought this back in June. Was really useful on holiday and now on trips out. One thing though, the lip at the front could do with being made higher. When my son wees, he most often than not, wees over the front lip. This then usually goes into his trousers or over me and my wife. If you have a boy, hold his willy down.
The potty is light weight and easy to use. The legs are quite hard to snap into place (it’s not just ours, our friend has the same problems), but once there make a very steady base to sit on. The insert pads are great for wees and poos and wrap up like a doggy poopscoop bag, which you then throw in the bin.
All in all I would recommend this potty. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the front lip.
What a FANTASTIC idea, I bought these while potty training my son in case we were ‘caught short’ while out n about. I was a bit surprised at the cost of the replacement bags but I can certainly say they are worth EVERY penny! The amount of times this little potty has saved me and my son from ‘near misses’ in the car, in the shops and even in the playground means they are priceless. With 21 month old twins to potty train next year, I’ll be stock piling these for sure!
