Good value, new type game for wide range few different ways to play too
My 3 Yr old grandson loves playing this
game. He has learnt to take turns, interact with others, count out moves and wedges of cheese. The game is well made and lots of family fun.
Fun game, loved by the kids, easy to play, easy to set up.
Great game for a cat loving 5 year old. Simple and easy to follow with numerous scenarios that can keep the game going for awhile.
I thought I had a bargain and a half here until I saw the same game for 9 euro in argos and was somewhat feeling conned.
Overall a great game but took a star for value for money
I got this partly as it was on offer in Prime Day, partly because Ravensburger is a good brand, and partly because my son saw it on the screen and wanted “the cheese game”. He’s 3 and I’ve been wanting to practise winning and loosing… The game is simple to play, the skills you need are basically to be able to roll dice and count to 3. It’s a luck game, though there is a way to play it “for older children” that does involve some skill.
Dropping your mouse down the cheese hole is good fun! And my boy insists on making the mouse climb the ladder rather than just lifting it up…
The board, including the big cheese and ladders, all seem sturdy, I was instantly impressed by the quality. Virtually no set up was needed, just clicking the ladders into place, and once they’re there they stay there. All in all, highly recommended.
Brought this for my nephews, they love it! A very fun game! Good value for money and easy to learn!
Super easy to set up and play. Might be a bit too basic for older children.
Read the reviews and deceided to buy this game for my great niece 4 years old.
Very sturdy and easy to set up. Great for all ages we did have a few tantrums when the 4 year old had to give back 1 off her cheeses but she still carried. You can play this game numerous ways, would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed by all the family.
We have 4 children of different ages (2 older ones and 2 younger ones) so we find it really hard to find board games for the whole family to play and enjoy.
Once a week we put a evening back for family games night, so we are always on a look out for new games to play.
At first I thought this was going to be a bit like mouse trap but this is much better and you don’t spend ages setting it up or picking it away.
Ravensburger cat & mouse board game is for 2 to 4 players and from age 4 plus.
It’s a very simple game, quick to play (Approx 20 – 30 mins) comes with easy instructions to follow but to be fair it’s quick straight forward.
It’s a high quality, lovely size, has eye catching pieces and a game for the whole family to play at any age.
The kids love this game. Bought it for my 5 year old son as a Christmas present. Simple to play, sturdy, feels great, very well put together and made. Recommended.
This game gives lot of fun for children! It is super easy to play and the game itself has awesome quality. This game is recommended for children over 4 years old and there are some small pieces so I would still watch kids while playing. Theis Cat and Mouse game gives many hours of fun and is also a great idea as a gift for Birthdays of Christmas. I would buy it again.
Highly recommended!
This is a great game for kids around 5. They can play themselves and it looks grea
This is a really eye-catching and unique-looking toy/board game. The aim is to be the first to get 5 bits of cheese. You roll the dice and go around the board and collect pieces of cheese as you go along but the cat is trying to stop you and will steal your cheese if you land on his section!
Really simple to set up and understand. It’s not a game you’ll be stopping to read the instructions every 5 minutes so it is something even the younger kids will be able to enjoy.
Well-made, very colourful and really, really fun to play!
Would recommend!
8 year old loves this game (me I find it a bit boring after the first couple of games) – its a nice 3D board game where you have to try and get 5 pieces of cheese by moving your mouse around the board avoiding the cat and when you land on a ladder you climb to the top and then drop down a shoot. Its pure chance no skill at all as your number of moves is determined by a roll of the dice.
Its well made and super sturdy so I can see it being passed down the family line when the 8 yr old outgrows i
Comes well presented in a colourful eye catching box. All the pieces inside are all brightly coloured. You get the cheese game board, max the cat, 4 mice pieces, 17 cheese tokens, 3 ladders, die, paws die and instruction. Easy to set up and get playing. Youngest player goes first, roll the die to move around the board. The aim is for the first person to get 5 pieces of cheese. You get to climb the ladder and slide down the cheese along the way. Also you need to look out for max the cat. It looks and feels of good quality and will withstand alot of play. Would even make a great gift. A fun game for young children to play and enjoy.
Easy game for all the family to play. My six year old thoroughly enjoyed it and after the first game, following the instructions and working out what the different spaces meant it’s very simple.
The board looks fun and engaging and my daughters loves dropping their mice through the top of the cheese and seeing where they would land.
You gain and lose pieces of cheese as you work your way around the board. The cat also moves around the board and the kids loved when the cat landed on each other’s mice.
First player to collect 5 pieces of cheese wins.
Fun, interactive and great quality game – Highly recommend!
This is a great game for kids to playadults will also enjoy this. My daughter had great fun playing and so did I. The game is simple to play and instructions are easy to follow. Good value for money for hours of fun.
This game is very fun! Kids like that the game actually has characters and there are actually things to collect such as the cheese they added.
This game’s design is simple and it is very fun for younger children such as between 4-8 yrs old.
When you put your character through the cheese, it always lands somewhere random. It is a great idea to let yourself roll a dice and let the cat move on what you land.
We need more game like this to keep kids from electric products.
We’ve had loads of fun playing this with our daughter especially since we actually have pet mice and cats
Really easy instructions to follow, the game is very well made and once your finished playing everything fits back into the box nicely.
For a competitive family we love it
Highly recommended
This is a lovely game, it’s very simple so can be played with the whole family. We have had lots of fun playing this. Great for a weekend games night.
This is a really good family fun game playing within a couple of minutes of getting out the box. The set up is really straightforward and the rules are easy to understand without any complex twists. It’s definitely just a game of luck so mixed ages can play without any frustration from any party. In this day and age of iPads and tablets everywhere it is quite nice to get some plastic figures and roll the dice occasionally!
his is a cat & mouse board game for kids, it’s a very beautiful board game with a colourful playing board with a big 3d cheese maze on the top, also 4 tiny mouse game pieces and 17 mini cheese bites
the game is easy to learn and play, just 2 pages of instruction, it’s pure luck game, no skill required, suitable for little kids, adult and bigger kids will find it a bit boring
the original rule was the first player get 5 cheese bites wins, but we found it’s too fast for one game, so we modified it a bit to let players finish all pieces in the pool and who got the most cheese bites wins
my little kid find this game is interesting, we usually play 2-3 games per day the max, or it will be too repetitive and start getting boring
this game is simple, besides entertainment, we can use it to train up kids to follow game rules
all in all, i’m satisfied with this product
hope you find these information helpful
The rules of this game are very simple and quick to learn. For the most part players are rolling a dice and moving their piece forward corresponding to the number on the die. There is just one place on the board where you get to make a decision. This is the opportunity to relocate the cat to a position of your choice. In theory players should use the cat the deprive the leading player of some cheese. This strategy can lead to long frustrating games.
We all like the look of this game. Gameplay has similarity to snakes and ladders, but progress towards and away from winning is more random. At first the extra unpredictability seems better, but after a couple of games it is less satisfying. Adult players can “help out” younger players in this game which might be seen as a positive.
Overall, an enjoyable game. Most suited for 4 players, involving players aged 4-5 years.
This is a super cute board game which is ideal from 4+ years. I was a bit worried that my 6 and 8 years old will not enjoy it but OMG, how wrong I was. They absolutely love it and kept playing the game all over and over.
The setting up is super easy, using two dice make it very interesting for them. There is a standard die and another one which has paws on it.
The rules are easy to understand and therefore it brings a lot of fun during the game. I would highly recommend it because it is a very good quality and cute game.
Like games? Like cats and mouse?
This is the Ravensburger Cat & Mouse Game for ages 4+, 2-4 players, contains gameboard with 28 pieces including cat, mice, cheese segments, dice and instructions.
This game is great fun, a different take on the classic Mouse Trap game with a menacing cat! Basically each player takes a mouse, youngest player goes first clockwise, then it is simple roll the dice and move. Collect cheese on the relevant squares one or two pieces, but if you land on cat square you get him to nick a cheese off an opponent.
First to collect pieces of cheese wins! I do like the squares when you land on a ladder, as you have to climb the ladder and then drop down the relevant shoot, landing anywhere on the board. That is great fun. Just don’t get caught by that pesky cat!
The gameboard is great, the pieces are fun, especially the cat! Love it, but I keep winning much to my kids disarray! Ha.
For the price this game is fantastic fun and will give you hours of fun. I fully recommend this game, it is cat n mouse-tastic!
We had a couple of neighbours round to test this with us. They loved the design of the box which, they said, made the game look great fun, but were a bit taken aback when they saw the small size of the toy within. But any disappointment was soon allayed when we unpacked the pieces; the mice were particular favourites as they are rather like small subbuteo pieces. We soon got playing, although the youngest player had some problems with the instructions (she is 64). The mice falling through the cheese caused great mirth as did the cat imbibing mice up its rear end. The game lasted 20 minutes and, after a few more drinks, we were all keen to play it again. An ideal Christmas present if you want some family fun.
My wife and daughter have been playing this, its pretty simple to grasp and the included characters and cheese are fun to use. So far I have heard many giggles coming from the girls playing this, I myself also played one or twice and we had a blast. A good board game is a great way to bond.
This Ravensburger Cat and Mouse board game is suitable for children aged 4+ years old and requires 2 to 4 players. With the object of the game being to get five pieces of cheese without being caught by the cat, it is fun and easy to play. As with all things Ravensburger it is good quality and well-made but with the pieces being small remember to keep an eye on small children and pets! 4*
This game is a must for Christmas to get the family together and stop them from arguing! The game itself is sturdy and well-made It’s easy to learn how to play. All you do is put all the mice at the top and they each fall through a hole in the cheese and come out in a different ‘wedge’ of the board. The youngest player starts by rolling the dice and moves their mouse clockwise around the board. Whatever ‘wedge’ they land on, they must follow the instructions to either get a piece of cheese, sometimes two, climb the ladder to the top of the cheese and fall through the hole again, or lose their cheese because they’ve landed next to the cat. The first to get five bits of cheese wins. The cat complicates things as he moves anti-clockwise and causes your mouse to lose the cheese you’ve collected or have to start again. Sounds confusing but once you start playing, you’ll soon pick it up and hopefully pick up some cheese as well – and win!
