4 and 8 year old can play this together, 4 year old does find it tricky so they modified the rules when they play together but they both enjoy this
Took my 5 yr old grandson minutes to love this game. Excellent for memory and recall. Great value
Bought as a gift for 5yo. He loves it. Very straight forward with simple rules. Great to teach adding numbers (on dice), great to teach taking turns, great to develop memory. Familiar locations from famous fairy tales makes this especially engaging for younger children.
We have played enchaned forest quite a few times now, its easy to learn and set up and my grandson loves it.
This is a really fun memory type board game. Nicely made with lovely illustrations. Possibly a little complicated for the starting age of 4.
Bought this for 6 year granddaughter- played it but took a long time and think we will abbreviate in the future. Having said that she was delighted with it!
The whole family of differing ages enjoyed playing this over Christmas
Brilliant family board game, have bought a second one as a gift. So much fun, easy to play, definitely recommend. My 4 year old son loves it and so do I.
It’s great game but a lot of parts. Helps kids learn to count and memory. It’s also fun trying to read others reactions and bluffs as they try to privately view the objects.
This was the game that made our Christmas. What a lovely present. The quality is amazing and far superior to any board game we have ever bought, nice little wooden pieces and lovely colourful board. It’s all so sturdy. The game play is really clever, quite magical and so easy yet challenging to play. There also additional rules to make it more challenging if needed. Young and old in our house loved it from age 6 to 60. It’s based on all the classic fairy tales we know and love. Every household with children need this! It’s been on my wish list for two years now as I wanted to buy it for my son but never actually did it until this year – wish I’d bought it years ago! What a treasure! One the children will remember forever.
Bought this for a brother and sister 8 and 3. Nice game and easy to follow
Present for children who enjoy family games night. They have another Ravensburger game they love and this matches with same quality.
We got this game for my 5 year old birthday. A bit tricky for her at the moment so we have adapted it and you can still play it and have fun.
Bought for a Christmas present for my granddaughter so have not played it yet. However my daughter had the same game when she was young and it was great fun
.
We really like this game, sometimes it takes a long time but it is easy to slightly change the rules to speed up the game (usually do this if there are fewer people playing).
Really like it, our daughters 8 and she is better at remembering where the treasure is than me!
It is a very good quality game the whole family can enjoy. My daughters, 8 and 5 years old learned the rules very quickly and we had a fun playing it! We just did not finish when one of us found three treasures byt until the moment we found all of them and the person who had the most was the winner. I really recommend for people of all ages!
My disney mad son aged 10 loves this, it took me back to my childhood when i had it! We changed the rules a bit to suit otherwise it would take almost as long as monopoly. But we love our board game days and this is a firm favorite with us as we play pairs afterwards with the cards left and the trees.
Game seems very nice with fairy tales as part of the game. We played with a 5year old , mother and grandmother. There are lots of identical ‘trees’ . when you arrive at a tree, you can look at the bottom and put it back. after viewing several trees , it is hard to remember which ones you looked at . A group of similar aged older children would get on better.
This game is really good value and fun for all the family.
I had this game as a child; this version is slightly different but the little trees haven’t changed and it remains a fun game with lovely illustrations. The challenge of remembering where items are is appealing and challenging for everyone.
My daughter was bought this for Christmas from someone who used to play it when they were a child. I’d never heard of it, but I’ve bought it several times since for birthdays as it’s such a great game! My daughter is 6 and understands all the rules, playing time is reduced massively if you add in the extra rules or you can make your own up. We just love it and have played so many times – highly recommend
Got this for Christmas and we really enjoyed playing it. There are two ways to play it depending on how you want to use the dice. We played the longer version and it could take quite a long time to finish the game that way! We likely won’t do it that way again if wanting a quicker play. The concept is good and a real test for the memory when remembering which tree has which symbol under it. Played as a family age 8+ and everyone enjoyed it.
This is a really fun racing game with memory and light strategy elements for the whole family. It can become quite a competitive race game when 2 adults go head-to-head.
The instructions are clear and the rules are straightforward and easy to teach; even to younger children. The components are of good quality and the fairytale artwork of the cards is beautiful and will likely appeal to both younger and older players.
Game play is enjoyable and, even though Enchanted Forest is designed for children, it is still fun for adults too.
The board game is quite thick and the overall game including the cards and trees are of good quality. Game rules are a bit confusing as instructions are not so thorough, but we watched it on YouTube and we were good to go.
Kids had lots of fun, I recommend however not following the rules of the double dice “magic move” to all 3 rules, because otherwise the kids race to go to the castle and the game ends pretty quickly.
Otherwise a really good “treasure hunt” game which can also be a memory exercise as everyone has to remember the card hidden under the trees for future use.
I think it’s great fun, great value for money and I am surprised it’s not a very well known game.
I highly recommend.
The quality of this game is excellent. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. My grandchildren are 4yrs and 5yrs old and love it.
I got this for my daughter and her family for Christmas. It was to try and show the little ones that there is more than tablets and video games. That you can have ‘fun’ sitting at the table playing something as a family. It has been a great success.
My daughter also says thank you. It has reinstalled in them how important and what good fun it is to take time out from our busy high tec days to sit and play as a family.
I got this for my 6yo daughter. We play it together and sometimes her 3yo brother joins in. There are two ways to play the game, and we like the harder version. You basically find or guess where certain iconic fairy tale elements are (e.g. Cinderella’s glass slipper), and make your way through the forest to the castle to claim your reward. It’s great that you can go in any direction, and because you roll 2 dice, you have lots of options. It’s a memory game, a maths game, and a bluffing game. Very impressed with it, especially since the artwork is so beautiful and the design so clever (you even have a little dice tray in the box). I laminated the cards (very thick, by the way), but I’m sure you can find small card sleeves to fit.
Only 4 stars as I’ve only played twice with the basic format. Played with 3 adults and 1 9 year old and we all enjoyed it. I won the first game (huzzah!) however we all struggled with the second game as we couldn’t remember where we had been and what treasures we had found. I genuinely ended up with a tension headache! This will improve memory, is engaging and good for a laugh when some of the players do not have a poker face. I’ll edit my review once I’ve played with magic and made it more challenging.
