Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSetup was easy and the picture quality is good. However, the TV has a distinct, annoying yellow tint. Here you can see the video of a cozy red ambience video on my laptop, vs the washed-out yellow version that the TV shows.

I have given this four stars , as it is badly let down by the audio, its very tinny and basic, luckily i had a small sound bar, which once attached has done the trick.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use this as a kitchen tv on a swing bracket. Great picture, poor sound. TV is very light and feels like it could snap so when turning ot for people to view I only dare move the bracket. If you plan to use this in a fixed position I’d recommend it but maybe invest in a sound bar.

I ordered this for use in our caravan, its just what we wanted as it works from 12volt or Mains electric. It fits nicely in the front by the window and on the side. As others have commented to sound is not the best if you want to upgrade that then you can put the sound through speakers.

The picture was crisp and HD is available, we purchaced a bag for the TV to protect it which I would recommend so that we can put it in a safe place.

TV was just a simple TV for the bedroom, very sturdy which is needed had it’s standing on a table and I have 5 very playful cats..easy set up for channels etc too.

This was a good price and ideal for our caravan. Be aware that the sound quality is truly awful but can
be sorted by connecting to external speakers.Problem sorted.

Nice 32″ TV. All the apps you could ever need including NowTV. Easy to set up. Looks good in the Bedroom.
As with all TVs these days sound is very average but nothing a good cheap sound bar won’t fix.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersTV has been great, no issues with the function of the TV. My only concern is that this TV was definitely REFURBISHED but the listing did not indicate it was refurbished. I suspect it was refurbished because De’Andre apparently left himself logged into the Netflix account!

Overall happy with the TV just would have preferred the seller was clear about the whole thing.

Everything works great. Easy set up. Was fine the first day. Second day, there was a ant crawling around in the actual screen. Don’t know how as its in the bedroom and I don’t have a ant problem. So yeah. Great but..

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGot this TV as it fits in a TV bed perfectly, simple to set up and picture and sound quality is good for a TV at this price, only fault I have so far is BBC iPlayer is not currently available, hopefully it will be sorted, I’ve mainly bought it for Prime and Netflix but anyone that is buying this specifically for BBC iPlayer then I would avoid, More 4, My 5 etc all work fine

4.0 out of 5 stars BBC iPlaye

The tv is compact and ideal for the bedroom or kitchen. I have fitted mine on the bedroom wall, on previous bracket. It was easy to tune and is a good picture. The sound is a bit tinny but it’s ok for the bedroom. For the money it’s ideal.

In my view this TV is a bargain if you are happy with a ‘dumb’ TV. I am so sick of user agreements, app stores and cluttered home screens, I just wanted a TV. It works fine with my DVD and I’m using a Neocore tablet with HDMI port to provide the ‘smarts’ for the TV.

At some point TV manufacturers are going to catch on that there is a need for a TV that cannot receive a live signal for all those who are ditching their UK BBC-subsidy TV license.

I bought this TV to replace my old bedroom TV (Samsung UEH5500). It’s a good replacement and if it wasn’t for the poor audio quality, I would give 5 stars (Samsung had a much better sound). At least it can be paired with a BT speaker (I used my bed side Lenovo Smart Clock, not reputated for its audio quality but yet much better than the TV!). Pairing it with BT headphones would with a good option too.

As a bedroom TV, it does the job and them some. I like the freedom of adding almost any android app. I use some from Synology to watch my own collection of movies, something that only GoogleTV/Chromecast and Samsung allow so far.

For less than 200, I’m more than happy with it.

Note: As many TV, there’s not central stand, but a pair of feet located on the edges (probably cheaper and more compact for packaging). As a result it would not fit on the cabinet where the Samsung used to sit.
So, I mounted on the wall it with the inexpensive “PERLESMITH TV Wall Bracket” (ASIN: B07Z7FQCJ9), wichi is just perfect for this light VESA100 TV!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great budget bedroom TV that would have deserved a better sound quality

    Arrived safely 2 days early.
Picture quality is clear and sharp, but sound is a bit tinny.
Worth the money as a standard 40 inch tv.
Curiously, upon measuring, the visible screen size is 39 inches, not the advertised 40 inches.
But still happy enough with the product.
    I would recommend this product.

Bought this for my family member, they love it,it’s easy for them to use, they did’nt need a smart TV,just a standard one,so lucky to have found this, did’nt even know they still made them, and I’m so pleased they had this type of TV still going.

The one glitch with it I’d say is there is no buttons on the actual tv to switch it on or turn it over manually, just the remote, but having said that, for a tv this size, and so easy to use,I think I can live with that!

The price is good too for a large tv like this,it shows the subtitles up really big,I love this tv,and it works how it should for my family member.

Brought this as a cheap alternative to put in the bedroom. It seems to do the job, it is not a smart tv but managed to connect Amazon fire stick which works perfectly. Tv is a bargain for the price, only downfall is that the image quality isn’t as good as a bush tv or Samsung but for the price can’t complain. Definitely worth it if you’re on a budget and want to put in the kids room or spare room.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had no previous experience of this brand and wasn’t sure about buying one after previously getting a Digihome tv for a similar price and found it to be ‘cheap and nasty’ ……… but this brand is much better!
excellent picture quality, loads immediately (I’ve got the Roku version- which is definitly worth the extra cost) and a pleasure to use!!
When next buying a lower priced TV this is probably the only brand I will now consider – can’t recommend enough

This TV makes me happy everyday I walk into my seating room because it has all I needed to relax. I always refers the tv to super hub. I have referred more than 4 friends to buy this same tv which they keep thanking me. I can’t wait for the 50inches to be available for sale I gladly buy it and make adjustments. Good job guy. Nice wonderful and good Product keep it up.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usersbought this tv to replace a plasma tv which was really heavy on the electricity bill, the size of the tv is great, the picture quality is great and the rook feature is fantastic, now for the not so good the sound quality is really poor it is very tinny and not the best in fact it is that tinny I use my sound bar with it, I was very disappointed with the sound quality coming from a company who has been in the audio business for over 100 years I expected better especially with the tv having dolby and its sound, come on rca you could have done a lot better with the sound.but overall for the price of the tv you can’t go wrong

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI don’t have hd eyesite or perfect pitch hearing so didn’t need a state of the art TV and so far so good.
Only issue so far is I only use TV via HDMI and every four hours it pop up a warning to switch off TV due to inactivity. I can’t find out how to disable this

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst unit had a dark spot on the screen (size of a fingerprint) but it was easy enough to get this replaced and the replacement does not have such an issue. Picture quality looks good, sound quality is not very rich with the default settings, but pressing the * key while watching something (took me a while to find this) gives you a menu where you can fiddle with the audio settings and you can get it to sound much better by enabling (from memory) a dolby option. TV is very quick to turn on. Roku provides a very nice (simple) interface. As long as this lasts, I have no complaints; 190 for a 40″ is a bargain.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis item arrived next day . Extremely light weight ideal for caravan. Picture sound excellent. Down side we haven’t got cigarette lighter connecter in our van.. luckily our friendly dealer helped us out. And made us one up. We tried everywhere for a two pin adapter to work 12 volt with no success…. perhaps worth thinking about before you purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat TV, cheap and lightweight, purchased for my campervan. Lots of features not a smart tv but can easily attach a fire stick, good picture quality, sound a little tinny but doesn’t really make a great difference in my van as the volume is never high, could attach a soundbar or speaker if desired, remote a little plastic feeling but works ok. Picked up lots of channels on the first scan but that was in the city with good reception. Very pleased so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove the tv, light & easy to work with. Good, clear picture. I’ve had a Roku stick for several years & like the options , happy to have it integrated in the tv. Good size remote control, buttons well spaced. Had to make 4 star rather than 5. My requirement was for Bluetooth on tv, which it has, but after many attempts to link headphones discovered headphones not supported after searching online for solution. Only way is to watch tv via app on phone, which is not practical in my case. Otherwise great tv.

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersOrdered to upgrade my dad’s old 32″ Sony. At the price point it was worth a try, even though some reviews were negative.

I was suitably impressed with this TV enough for me to order one to replace the one I have, as this comes with a DVB T2 tuner (mine is a DVB T) which means that it has Freeview HD channels.

Fingers crossed mine will be just as good.

Update: mine was delivered super fast and even on Bank Holiday Monday.

I have managed to watch some football on the HD ITV channel, and the 60hz kept up with it well. Great HD picture and sound is decent.

I have also connected an old Wii using the provided cables in the box. It works.

There is a scart connect, which I have attached my old VCR to. It works.

I have used the usb to power my Now TV stick. It works.

I have used a USB stick to record live TV. It works. However, there are absolutely zero instructions for using this function so it is very much up to the user to work out. The usual recording via EPG is there, which means that on a TV / Freeview box with a single DVB tuner, if you are watching something at the time it will switch to the programme you have set to record when the time comes.

I have zero idea how to delete anything from the usb using the TV either: probably have to take it out and connect it to a computer and do it that way…

As with the first TV, when the box came it was so light I wondered if there was even a TV inside. The TV is so lightweight that I would have 100% confidence putting on a bracket on any of the walls in my house. Even a plaster board partition.

At this price point I am very happy with the TV. Time will tell of long lasting quality.

(Btw, I haven’t tried the 3.5mm out yet, nor the optical out. Nor do I have ‘cable TV’ or a satellite dish, which this also has connections for…)

In case anyone is wondering after all of the above, I have docked a star for a few reasons:

1, is that it ‘only’ has 2 X HDMI when my preference would be for 3.

2, there is only 1 USB socket, so there has to be a choice between making it a smart TV with Now/Firestick/Roku etc (for USB to power) or as a stick Freeview recorder.

3, the remote has to be pointed almost exactly in a straight line to the sensor on the TV for it to register. It is supper fast when it does, and is something that I will get used to, but it is still worth mentioning.

    4.0 out of 5 stars 42" Standard

Golden Review Award: 54 From Our UsersThe last time I bought a TV was 10 years ago so I am comparing it with a something that is over 10 years old. My old TV only came with the BBC iPlayer and a couple of others that required subscription whereas the RCA is fully up to date with all the catchup apps. The tuner also turns out to be quite sensitive – I live 37km from the transmitter that is also behind several walls (I live in a mid terrace) and yet it is able to pick up all the channels with an indoor aerial. However,

    1) there doesn’t appear to be a way to search the EPG. On my old TV, I could search by name or category (e.g. Star Trek or film) and see what (live) programmes are coming up. The only search that appears to be available is for on-demand content;

    2) the IPTV “data” channels such as Vision TV don’t work. Considering that they work flawlessly on my 10-year old TV this is rather disappointing. Hopefully it will be addressed in a future software update;

    3) there is an option to add “wireless audio devices” to the TV, devices such as speakers and soundbar with the graphic also showing headphones. I have not been able to get it to detect my bluetooth headphones;

    4) the remote is essential the same remote used in a Roku streamer slightly modified for a TV. As such it is missing some common buttons like one to turn subtitles on and off with a single touch.

For the price this is not a bad TV although it can be a lot better.

    Update:
I have now had the TV for nearly 2 weeks. The Roku App turns out to be quite useful and mitigates some of the shortcomings of the remote control. Using the app’s voice input, the many clicks that were previously needed to turn on subtitles can now be achieved by simply saying “turn on subtitles”. To open a “channel” (an app in Roku speak), you can say something like “launch ITVX” to launch the new ITV app.

Live TV may be paused if you connect a flash drive to one of the USB ports. However, beware that a current bug causes the pause buffer to be wiped if you turn off the display, so if you get a phone call in the middle of a programme, you can pause for up to 90 minutes but do not be tempted to turn off the TV screen to save electricity.

I tried to ask the seller about the failure to play the Freeview data channels through the Amazon website but did not get any response. There is no information in the supplied manual on where you can get technical support. Neither the Roku nor the RCA website list this model. I fear that once the Amazon return window passes, getting support may be tricky.

    Update 2: April 2023
A couple of days ago the TV updated to Roku OS 12.0.0, build 4171. The update broke all of the Freeview catch up apps. Any attempt to launch any one of the Freeview apps from the home screen results in an error message saying “Channel Unavailable”. The only way these apps can be accessed now is via the EPG. With the EPG up, press “*” and select an app to start from there. The update is also causing the “private listening” audio to break up. Usually this can be fixed by toggling the headphones on/off button on the Roku mobile app. All in all, this is a poor update and it is not recommended.

    Update 3: April 2023
The problem with the Freeview catch up apps has been fixed. Unfortunately, most of the Freeview data channels still do not work (see attached photo) despite the OS update.

4.0 out of 5 stars Do not upgrade to Roku OS 12
