Remington straighteners seem to be the best for my hair. My hair is wavy and most straighteners make my hair look like straw. These are great. Heat up really fast and straightened and softened my hair in no time. Definitely recommend!
Accidentally stood on my GHDs a fortnight ago after 14 years!!! I didn’t want to fork about , when I came across these straighteners reading the reviews and seeing how much they was I had to get them with no hesitation! I got these to replace an old pair, different brand. The old ones where just making my hair look dull and frizzy. These ones make my hair look sleeker and shiny and at a lower setting. I love them. I would definitely recommend
I bought these for my daughter for temporary use as she has always had ghd’s but they stopped working so I bought these until she saved to get new ones. After reading the reviews and already having the hair dryer in this range (which I love) I thought they would do for now. However she has used them nearly everyday for the last week or so and she absolutely loves them, to the point that she quoted “they are the best straighteners I have ever had, even better than my ghd’s” Safe to say they have done the job and hopefully will last as long as the others. Considering the low price they are seriously good value for money.

Have only ever used GHD ones but as they are always so expensive, I thought I’d try these ones as all the reviews had been really good.

I can also use my GHD rubber cap on these too.
They make my hair look and feel so sleek and shiny, and I’ve actually had compliments on how nice my hair looks. So I would definitely recommend these straighteners !
I usually by ghd but my last one broke the other day with Xmas coming up I am buying the children’s Xmas presents so don’t have the money to buy another ghd so going on the reviews thought I would buy this just to see me through. WOW, better than ghd!!! I bought the wide straighteners as I have thick wavy hair. So powerful and leaves my hair silky smooth. You won’t be disappointed
These might be the best hairstraighteners I hve ever purchased. After suffering from disappointing straighteners that would easily break I had decided not to invest too much in my next pair. However, after years of use these are good as new and leave your hair very soft and shiny. I also love that you can regulare the temperature and use it in a lower setting than other straighteners so that it is not as damagin on the hair. I cannot recommend these enough, I would buy it again!
I bought these for my wife who has very thick long curly hair. She is a die hard fan of Cloud Nine/GHD stating that “only expensive straighteners can manage my hair” For the last 5 years she has used a pair of GHDs, which would take upto and over an hour to fully straighten her hair where she would have to go over sections multiple times to get it straight. Finally she confessed that the GHDs were not coping with her hair and she didn’t no what to do. Being the fixer that I am I began researching straighteners. And found that these were highly recommended. I showed them to here her initial reaction was “they’re cheap and never going to work!” So I ordered them anyway telling her to try them. A few weeks later her GHDs are shoved to the back of the Drawer and haven’t seen daylight since. This morning she was able to straighten her hair before work and it took her 20 minutes. Saying “These things make my life so much easier”
In summary these are a fantastic product and come highly recommended.
I have been using GHDs forever but I saw good reviews for these so I’d thought I’d give them a try. I love them! They glide through my hair and leave a lovely shine. I find them much better than my GHDs. As with other reviews the light doesn’t stop flashing when it reaches temperature but it’s not an issue.
I needed to replace my previous straightener which stopped working after 5 years of utilisation; It was a Panasonic (up to 220 as well). At the time I bought it for 70.
This time around I was very skeptical of purchasing a product this cheap expecting the same quality. However, I also didn’t have the time to go in-store for a purchase since I needed it the next-day. I did a lot of research online, and only 1-2 of the websites I came across recommended this straighter.
Since I knew Amazon is the only company that would service this next-day, it had to be one which was available here. The multitude of reviews of the quality is what lured me into the purchasing this, since it was economical it would have been fine, if I decided it wasn’t for me.
For anyone who has thick hair this one is definitely for you:
1. It heats up within seconds of starting it to the highest temperature.
2. Furthermore, the argan oil infused plates could be the greatest thing invented for a straightener. It leaves you hair looking silk and shiny!
3. Lastly, the templates are thick (width) which allows to cover a large portion of your hair making the process quicker. As a result of this, it has saved me so much time in getting my hair ready.
If you need a new one, don’t hesitate to purchase this!
I’m using a shampoo and conditioner that is slowly improving its quality.
I purchased this straightener for just my fringe and on the incredibly rare occasion when I can be bothered to fully straighten my hair.
I did look at smaller straighteners but the ones with good reviews are in the same price range as these.
My last straightener lasted 9years, but its temperature light gave up the ghost several months ago and I only knew it was still working by the heat up beep then finally died, so I had to purchase another.
On first time using this new one I was incredibly impressed with this straightener.
There’s a nice weight and it feels good in your hand, the controls are easy to read, do not interfer with straightening your hair at all but there is no audible sound when turning on or when they reach temperature wich is annoying. The temperature lines just stops flashing.
This is annoying has unless you keep checking on them, you don’t know if they are ready to use.
The temperature window is clear to see on the top of the straightener and is illuminated in blue so you can easily see that the straightener is switched on, its just not very clear when it’s up to temperature.
There’s a handy lock to keep the straightener closed that’s abit fiddly at first but the cable isn’t as long as my old straightener.
The first time I used the straightener at 180, going over my hair they even gave my fringe a (never seen before after straightening) nice shine. Not a greasy, or a fake shine, but a healthy hair shine..
The next day I only needed to go over bits of my fringe with the straightener, not the whole lot again, like i used to with my old straighteners.
I’m continuing to use this straightener set at 170 going over the hair once or twice and it’s still giving the same results. Just needing to touch up my fringe the next day.
The ends of my fringe aren’t crispy or damaged in any way so it looks like the impregnated oils really do work.
The plates are very well fitted and do not catch the hairs being straightened and there is no weird smell on heating up or when straightening my hair.
Even so i still highly recommend this straightener and is good value for this price point.
Bought to replaced GHD wide plates after almost 20 years of use – and it was the cord that gave out, nothing else.
I was going to replace the cord, then thought I would see what I could get quickly and cheaply.
Reading reviews for this it made me think about the better technology available now, and so I took the plunge, got these next day, and I was impressed.
Heat adjustability is great, they do heat up superfast, and a little storage pouch to keep it safe.
I am happy so far especially with the guarantee/warranty.
Would recommend to anyone – well worth trying for the price (under 30 when I bought).
It’s an inexpensive thing (given the usual cost of electronic straighteners) and quite handy but a bit fiddly. You definitely have to use it with some dexterity and I’m not sure I have that. It goes ina suitcase and I use it occasionally.
I have naturally wavy/ fluffy hair, which is quite fine but there’s a lot of it. It goes very frizzy as soon as there’s a bit of drizzle/humidity and I can never blow dry it anywhere near straight. When it fluffs up, it looks like a lion’s mane.
I’ve only been using these for a few days, but am blown away by how great they are. The plates are also longer than ghds, which I find makes them easier to curl/wave with, and quicker to straighten with.
When switched on, they heat up quickly, though the temperature display seems to flash for a couple of minutes (I haven’t timed it), which I believe indicates they are still heating up. However, I feel they work great even when the display is still flashing. When they switch on, they default to 190 degrees, so if you want them cooler or hotter, you just need to adjust with the buttons. I find 190 to be perfect for my hair, though I haven’t tried it cooler.
It glides through my hair so easily. I can’t believe how quickly and effectively it straightens my hair; it has never felt softer or looked healthier. It’s great at curling/waving too, producing long lasting waves for a natural beachy look.
There’s a button to lock the plates closed when not in use. This is a great idea but I do sometimes find it a little stiff so I tend not to use it. It’s not something that’s featured on any of my ghds before, so I will probably just continue to use the silicone sleeve I have from my ghd platinums, which holds the styler closed.
If I straighten my hair with this, it remains pretty straight until I wash it again (sometimes just needing a straightening top up if it’s been tied in a ponytail. I needed to straighten my hair daily with my GHDs regardless of whether it was a hair wash day or not.
The results are so much better with this than my ghds. I should also state that I have used cloud 9s too, which I didn’t think were that great.
I can honestly say that this is the best straightener/styler I have ever used. I think I’d just assumed that no one would ever make anything anywhere near as good as ghds but I suppose 20+ years have passed since GHD infiltrated the market.
Before spending loads of money on a top of the range one, give this a try, especially if it’s on offer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
Edit: I’m now nearly 8 weeks in, and my hair still loves this straightener. I wondered if the honeymoon period would wear off, but it hasn’t! And the best of it is, I haven’t had to do anything to my hair (other than brush it) since I washed it (and blow dried and straightened it) two days ago. That was unheard of before I owned this 🙂
Fantastic, I have wavy hair and difficult to keep nice and neat. This is the perfect strainer and light weight which makes it perfect and I am going to buy a few more to keep for Xmas presents!
This product does the job superbly and is excellent value for money. There’s no justifiable reason for spending a fortune for the high end big names when this little baby does the job superbly. It’s used most days and is quick to heat up and has auto shut off if you forget to switch it off. Had it for probably a year now and still going strong.
I was nervous when my expensive straightener broke and almost shelled out 200 for a new pair but I saw some hype about these being better than the top brand and I thought, for 35, what did I have to lose?

Bought these in bit of a panic when my GHD’s decided to start flashing red just as I’m about to head off on a trip. My hubby joined me a few days later and brought them with him. They’re terrific, temperature can be adjusted and they do just as good a job as GHD’s but without the same price tag.
I have quite curly fuzzy hair and have used ghds for decades. I needed a new one as the plates on old ghd were not heating the same and not wanting to take out a mortgage on a new one I decided on this after reading some reviews. I’m soo glad I did because for the price it put the high priced equivalents to shame! 100% recommend
I have to be honest I was very reluctant to buy these hair straighteners as I had previously had a pair expensive ones.
Soon as I used these I was so impressed with the end results they glided with ease and the plates are big so it didn’t take long to straighten. On the down side they don’t feel as slick but they did a class job. Totally worth the money, very good value. Highly recommend.
I was recommended these by a work colleague. Was not disappointed. My last pair of hair straighteners packed up after a year and I was a bit dubious about these as I have always paid a lot of money for my hairdressing equipment. They’re a great price and would not hesitate to buy them again. Does the job perfectly without emptying your bank account.
I am a newcomer to hair straighteners, having bought expensive versions for my daughters I did not want to spend the same on myself so I took the advice of a friend and bought these instead. Do not underestimate them just because they are cheaper, they heat up very quickly with variable temp that’s easy to read. I am super pleased and they do the job over and above what I expected, great value for money.
These hair straighteners are a great alternative to more expensive products like GHDs. They heat up very quickly and have multiple temperature settings. They are easy to hold in your hand and are easy to store away. the only downside which is why I have given them a 4 star rating is that they can sometimes catch a strand of hair and break it. Just make sure all the hair you need to straighten is on the plates and keep other hair away from them. For the prices its exceptionally goof value for money.
If you’re looking for bargain straightens I really can’t recommend these highly enough. You get a lot of bang for your buck, especially if you can snap up a pair in the sales!

since purchasing these hair straight it’s perfect for my kind of type of hair which is frizzy hair and curly hair. This works really well with my hair I’m soo impressed by this product much better then my GHDS as they broke down after 1 year so I won’t be buying ghds again. Glad I did buy this and wil purchase another one again soo
I love these! The puppy chewed through the wire of my more expensive ones and I needed a quick replacement that wouldn’t break the bank. These are just as good as the well known brand! I’m really impressed with them and they don’t pull either like my old ones did.
The plates are nice and wide and the straighteners look nice. I like the variable temperature and lock feature. They initially did seem a little heavy but I soon got used to them.
I used Schwarzkopf Keratin heat protection spray shine on my damp hair before drying.
I didn’t have high expectations and just needed something to tame my naturally curly hair. I was pleasantly surprised at how straight my hair was.
I have used them for a month now and have to say these are the best straighteners I have ever used. My hair has never looked better. I don’t know if it’s the heat spray or infused plates but the shine is ridiculous. My hair stays straight for days and I often have to wash it before it needs to be done whereas before my hair was starting to get curly before it needed to be washed.
I have only ever used them at 210 because that’s all I’ve needed.
I’m ordering another pair as I really don’t think I could go back to my GHDs or cloud 9s and I could buy at least 3 pairs of these for the price of 1!

After using ghd straighteners for years I thought I would give these a go as I have very thick hair…very impressed and took half the time to straighten…very happy
I have very thick auburn hair that tends to frizz with the slightest bit of moisture. These smooth my hair nicely, they have good heat and the plates are smooth. Also add a nice wave if used as a curler.
The Mrs tested these and was surprised how good they were considering the price tag. These are not a premium premium set, but they heat up quickly and offer lots of control.the plates are smooth and make straightening hair easy.

cord is a good length, its a digital display and again easy to use. comes with 5 year warranty however if you register online you get an extra year and registration is so easy.
they are a nice colour as well and have straightened my hair really nicely considering it was quite frizzy when i started.
I mostly use my hair straightener to curl my hair, and it really does an amazing job at it. The cable rotates, so it doesn’t block your movement at all, and my hair looks really shiny and feels so soft.
The hair straightener feels really nice in hand and the end bit doesn’t get too hot, so you can hold it tight. I got it for 25.65 and I think it was 100% worth it.
I’d really recommend it!

I have had dyson, cloud9 and ghds…. All costing me hundreds of pounds. I needed some straightners to just chuck in my bag so wanted a cheap pair…. These are literally the same as mentioned above. My hair is soft, shiny and kept straight all day (I have very wavy hair and heat does me no justice) these are fantastic if your on a budget or not. Would definitely recommend.
My cloud 9’s have broken my hair after a few years. I didn’t want to spend alot of money again so bought these. They are brilliant. So easy to use and straightened my hair lovely without pulling.

I had not bought hair straighteners in a while as others I was given as presents. Well it arrived beautifully packed. The straighteners were very impressive. absolutely delighted with them. Easy to operate, would def recommend as they are medium length and easy to hold.
I have thick wavy hair and have relied on my GHDs for years to get straight smooth hair. I was devastated when they stopped working (probably as a result of me standing on them, thankfully not hot) and cried again when I saw the price for new GHDs. I then saw these which had good reviews and were a fraction of the price. Really good results with them. The plates are wide, so probably not great for anything but straightening, but great for my hair. I also like that there is a catch to keep them closed when not in use, rather than having to wind the flex round them.

Big plates are very helpful , can straight hairs with minimum effort , big plates give you perfect and smooth hairs .
Bought these to replace my GHDs, that had no temperature control.
These are an excellent replacement and work more than adequately .
They heat up quickly and the temperature setting is clear and easy to use.
They are slim and the cable is a good long length.
The only negative is the carry pouch it is nylon and therefore not heat resistant. I use these at the gym and need to wait until they cool a little as they have scalded the pouch.
I would have rated 5 stars otherwise.

I’ll get the negative out the way first – the plate lock is fiddly & takes some getting used to, but it’s probably operator error. Lol.
Otherwise, heats up quickly, love the variable heat setting. I have ultra fine hair and can vary the setting depending on the finish I want without the ultra static I used to get from my previous ones. I have even managed to put a wave in my hair on a cooler setting, which if you have fine hair you know is quite an achievement.
I’ll never pay 150+ for straighteners again.

Love these, make my hair very smooth and shiny, have an easy temperature control in a little window that flashes until reaches temperature you’ve set.
Easy to use, heats up quickly and to chosen temp. I went up to 200 on first time and it worked so well and so quickly.

Today this iron arrived with its labels and impeccable packaging … I tested it at 170 degrees and I use my hair (a bit naturally wavy) and it heats up a lot I just passed it and I didn’t need to press a lot to make it straighten, it was very soft with I straighten my hair and leave it very shiny, delighted with the price and quality
I’ve used ghd straightens for YEARS they’re the only ones I ever used however when I came across this I had to check it out. the products used help with shine on damaged dry hair. which I needed due to years of bleach. I still see some snap page when using which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. however my hair feels soooooo soft with these!!
A little concerned when I first opened the packet as they don’t feel particularly robust however this does make them nice and light weight. The cord is a decent length.
The controls are easy to find and use with a clear digital display. They heated up in about 60 seconds.
I used them at 170 degrees due to damaged hair and this was enough to straighten my hair and I was also really happy to see that they reduces frizz as well.
The plates are a bit more “grippy” on the hair and not quite as smooth as GHDs however they didn’t catch at all and I was able to create curls and waves with them. I’m not sure they added shine but my hair does feel soft after using them.
A great alternative to more expensive brands with all the features that you need. Very glad I didn’t pay more for something that does exactly the same thing!
The straighteners came very well packaged in a sealed box which i liked and come with storage bag. They bleep when they come up to temperature which is really quick ( I use max temperature) they are not heavy to hold and glide through hair.
I read on a previous comment/review someone mentioned they used these straighteners and their hair looked fab until they washed it again to which I was sceptical my own would be the same…..well …..after trying them yesterday my hair straightened nice and sleek and remained that way for the remainder of the day, I even put it up in a pony tail for a bit and when I took down out my hair sat great. I used again this morning but to be honest a quick blow dry and brush would’ve done it ( I wash my hair every other day ) as I said it’s still early days but I can confidently say I think ive finally found the ideal ( low cost ) hair straighteners that actually straightens, thank you Remingto
