Fairly confusing to understand if no one around you knows how to play it, but you get it, it’s kinda fun. Not as monumental as everyone else makes it seem, but fun.

This board game is really fun! It is quick and easy to learn how to play. There are YouTube videos that walk you through and the instructions are pretty simple to refer to for details of the piece values. My favorite part, however, is that it comes with built in storage to store the pieces separately, so set and clean up are super fast. AND everything fits in the box perfectly with no trouble. I wish every board game I bought came with storage like this one! Well Done!

This summer our family of 13 became obsessed with learning and playing this game. Once you learn it (not quite as difficult as it initially appears), it is super fun. Try it. You won’t be sorry! It helps if one person studies the directions and teaches the others. There are also introductory videos you can watch on YouTube.

Seven wonders is one of my favorite games. Cities adds another element for points and advantages. I’ve found there’s more money involved in this expansion. When added with Leaders and Armada, this makes the base game rich and complex.

I played this with three people and the two other expansions, Leaders and Cities. I think it’s the best expansion yet. Not too difficult to learn, it adds a complexity that I really enjoyed. Naval battles, more victory points, and islands which reveal more items. Really love this expansion!!!

We have two adult children and when we get together, we really enjoy playing this game. So much so, that it gets packed when we travel to meet together. It’s awesome because there are different levels of play and it really only takes playing one game to get the idea and practice strategy. It better be in your cart right now!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis game is similar to Settlers of Catan, in that you earn points for building/playing cards. It has a nice card-sharing feel, where each player selects a card, then you pass your deck to the next player. One note: it is tough to learn. I recommend watching a “How-to-play” video first, or playing with someone else who has played before. This takes much of the uncertainty out of learning the game. Once you understand the play (usually after 2 games), this game will quickly become one of your group’s favorites.

Our family has really enjoyed this game. It took us a long time to get on the “7 wonders” train but now that we’re on…we’re never getting off! It reminded us a bit of the game Splendor, which we also really enjoy.

This is a light to medium weight game. Easy to learn how to play, but takes some practice to be good at it. This is a tableau builder game, you are building your city around the wonder you are given to construct. Good player interaction as the hand of cards you have are the various facilities and buildings available, for you pick one to build and pass the rest of the cards to players to either side of you. The game is in 3 eras/ages and the direction you pass the cards changes from from clockwise in ages 1 and 3 and counter clockwise in age 2. This interaction also helps when utilizing the resources those players make, because you can use them. You have to score the most points to win and the tricky part is understanding how to score. Again …fairly easy to learn, a bit tougher to strategize and excel at. Won’t take many plays before you “get it” though.

This is the multi-player version(2nd edition) for 3-7 players, ages 10+. I think that’s fairly accurate, but slightly younger could probably play it fairly well. 60-90 minutes …maybe a bit longer on the 1st couple plays. I think 7 Wonders: Duel is a little better, but it’s roughly the same game, just how you play is a little different. I believe the 1st edition version of this game is 2-7 players, so be aware of which version you are getting from the box art. Quality game that can be considered a gateway game to get newbies into board gaming.

This is one of those games that you should watch a video on how to play.

The first round will go slowly – be prepared for that. After it though, games will fly through and they’re so much fun! My husband has played this with his friends and we purchased it to bring to the beach with us.

Once everyone figured out how to play we started to have so much fun and it was our nightly game, even adding in the expansion packs!

Watching the strategies of how my friends and family built up their cities and whether or not they won wars was so amusing!

This game was fun to play! Takes some time to learn the rules, as do most strategy games, but it wasn’t overly complicated. I would definitely recommend it if you like strategy games.

I get sick of playing party games when I have more than 4 guests over. This version of 7 wonders is the easiest to learn, and scratches my “strategy” itch on board game nights when we have a larger gathering. I’d recommend it for your shelf for that reason alone- but it also offers interesting gameplay and fun components.

The product came within a few days of order undamaged, and all contents accounted for. The leaders expansion adds new elements and card effects to the game that can affect pre-age victory condition planning. One’s planning can be fouled throughout the game by their neighbours, in which the player will have to adapt to new victory conditions before the end game. This expansion is easy to learn and can become indispensable to one’s 7 Wonders experience.

    Edit:
The Leader expansion plays well with the armada and cities expansions. Combining all expansions add so much gameplay, strategising, and many different things you must keep track of (i.e., moving your ships, resource allocation, debts, taxes, etc.) throughout the game (see photos attached). Play with all the expansions if you are a 7 Wonders veteran looking for extra chaos in your gameplay or love resource-driven games.

Added Flavour to an Already Awesome Base Game

This game plays fast and is fun.
Simpler rules than 7 wonders, and turn based instead of everyone picking and passing cards at the same time. But it plays fast and you interact with your neighbors by deciding which pile of cards to pick from.
Enough variation that you will enjoy playing over and over, different wonders to build, it is a race to see who can build their wonder first!

7 Wonders is a card drafting strategy game: each player is dealt 7 cards, they pick one, play it on their board, pass the rest to the next player and so on, with the objective to build a little economy around one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. Drafting is repeated over 3 Eras, with cards growing in cost and effectiveness from one to the other.
Players score points at the end of the game by creating an efficient combination of cards, similar to many other engine building games, but there are a few things that make this game particularly enjoyable to me: the rules are not very complicated and the iconography very clear, so it’s not intimidating or complicated to explain to new players; at the same time there is enough variety in the possible strategies for seasoned players to enjoy it.
This is also one of the rare strategy games that plays up to 7 people and runs equally well at all player counts, thanks to the fact that everyone is performing their card selection and actions at the same time; even in a 7 player game there is very little downtime. A friend described it as “a chain of 3 player games”, as most of the interaction happens between each player and the ones on either side, but this also means that there’s no need to keep track of what everyone else is doing in great detail, focussing instead on the immediate neighbours.
The only two minor things I would like to see improved in future revisions are additional but more concise reference cards (the ones provided are very detailed, but also bigger than the player boards!) and more card dividers in the insert: each era needs to have a balanced set of cards, so most of the setup time is spent sorting cards to remove specific ones not required for a given player count. The box is large enough to accommodate 16 thinner vertical slots instead of the current 3 large ones, which would make setup a breeze.

I received the product for free, but this is an honest review. This game is a great strategic game and good to play with friends. Every match is different since you can choose different settings and their are many cards. It does take a couple of games to get the hang of it, but persevere as it’s great! This is not a travel game as the box is bulky, but other than that it’s well worth buying to add to your games collection.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe received this product for free but this is an honest review.

Initially we were daunted by the instructions, however an 8 min you tube tutorial later and we had mastered the game.

Played four times in 24 hours and my kids are obsessed, inc our 8 years old who quickly picked this up too!

My kids said; ‘it’s a fun game, a lot of strategising and each time you play you can adopt and different strategy so will last us a long time’!

Would definately recommend and looking forward to playing this with wider family and friends!

I’m always looking for board games that I can share with my 5 year old that are enjoyable for the both of us. Of course I buy the super easy little ones but something more intriguing and challenging is always what I want. This was perfect balance. Of course I helped her a little but once we got in to the rhythm of the game she knew the basic, 3 greens, 2 greens get you tokens etc. Super super fun for all the family, definitely worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFantastic game! It’s replaced 7 Wonders Duel (7WD) in our two-player family. My gaming buddy has visual impairment. We already own 7W Duel – an excellent game – but the small components and cards were a practical barrier to playing it often. 7W Architects keeps all the great aspects of the 7W franchise (theme, artwork, strategy) and makes it more accessible. The rules are simplified, the components are larger, and the cards have improved contrast and readability. The built-in organizers make the game quick to setup and put away. If you like quick-to-learn games with light strategy, beautiful artwork/theme, and playtime under 1 hour — then do not hesitate to get this game. I ordered a pre-owned version and it was essentially in new condition. This game flexes player count well, and is very enjoyable with 2 players.

Great fun for grown ups or older children. Rules are pretty straight forward to get and a game takes 30-40 minutes with 6 people playing, would be less for smaller groups! Scored slightly lower for travelling as the box is hardly travel size, it’s a fullsize board game box. However the fact that you play onto your own individual board does mean you don’t necessarily have to have a big dining table to sit at to be able to play.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe game arrived super fast and complete. One of the reviews here mentions the game was missing cards – I freaked out too at first, but after watching an unboxing video on YouTube I’ve learnt that cards for age 1 were just combined with the cards for age 2 and 3. So please ignore the negative review from the other user here on Amazon.

This review is for the stand alone 7 Wonders Architects.

The game is great fun for the family, very easy to learn and plays in about 15 to 20 minutes.
The components are good quality and all fits in the box very well.
My 7 year old daughter loves it and we usually play a couple of games in a row.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWas worried this may have been a bit complicated (initially) for my parents, but thought it would be worth the test. There is a 30min video on YouTube concisely explains the ins and outs which I made them watch beforehand. First game or two were a learning curve, but we all recognised the potential. By the third game, we were all hooked. No two games are the same – and it’s a really fair game for everyone. Highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersOur oldest son introduced our family to this game after playing it at college. It took one play through to get the gist of how the game works, and by the 2nd and third time playing we were rolling along pretty quickly. The game is played in 3 “Ages” that consists of 6 rounds of play each Age. Play is simultaneous, meaning everyone plays at the same time each round. This makes game play quick and keeps everyone engaged throughout the game to the end. It also forces you to focus on your game more than playing off others.

After playing once or twice, it appeared that there was one specific way to win consistently, but after playing a dozen times now, its apparent that there are many ways to win, and it really is luck of the draw of the cards you are dealt, and how you choose to play it. Playing with my kids, it’s not uncommon for me to be able to dominate in board games just from experience and superior strategy. This game tends to nullify that. You can have a great strategy, and depending on the hand you are dealt, and the cards you play, it can all go to “heck in a hand basket” in a hurry, so it tends to even the playing field.

This is a great game if you have 30 minutes to kill… or a full evening. Once you get the hang of game play, it can go really quickly, and you can be done and move on to something else. And if you are having fun, you can roll through 3 or 4 games in an evening.

It’s a great party game or family game. I would say that it’s more suitable for older kids and adults. I have a 12 year old daughter that loves to play, but it’s a little beyond my 8 year old, at least he doesn’t show a lot of interest. He played with my wife one game, and he lost interest pretty quickly.

Overall, it’s a great game, and I highly recommend it.

Well packaged and swiftly delivery. 7 Wonders is deservedly recognised as an excellent game. Noting that some reviewers have thought they had been supplied faulty products, it is worth mentioning that the three sets of cards are packaged for delivery into just two decks. They are all there, just requiring separation into three sets on first use.
