We’re ok for the price, quality isn’t great, but did the job. Watch out for the plastic bung, as it only screws on, & seems a little insecure. I’ll be putting a self tapping screw to hold it firmly in place the next time I use them.
Everything fine with this and it worked really well to clear my blocked drain, but as others have reported, the rivets fall out really easily and I’m missing several after just one use. I’ve now purchased a Pop rivet gun to replace them, but does seem like a product flaw.
You may think a blocked drain required a plumber at great cost.
Well, roll your sleeves up, check out YouTube and order one of these. That’s what I did. It was an unpleasant job but this bit of kit saved me so much money. It took all of 2 minutes to unblock the blockage.
A very useful tool to keep in the shed.
Felt a little bit flimsy at first, but is plenty strong enough for the job as long as you don’t overly force it.

I bought the after paying for someone to come and unblock a drain just before Christmas. That was 50 callout and it took seconds to fix……tbf gut said to me there and then to buy some rods. Got these and within 2 days the drain blocked again with stuff further up the system. It took me 15 minutes to completely unblock it with the. Fantastic value and something you should have at the ready to save money on Dyno call outs!
The purchase of these rods has saved our neighbour 200. We are now known as the ‘cheaper option’, for drain clearance, in our village and I shall be putting these rods to good use. It’s a shame my husband is not so willing as after all they still need someone to utilise them. Lol
