Works on checking a week after putting out found signs of use.
So far I have not seen any rat’s running around yet week before I had seen about six three blatantly coming close.
Having problems with rats they have been eating the bait don’t really know if working as can’t see any evidence of dead rodents as bit early to tell good value for the money cheaper then getting professional in no missing items recommend this produc
Keeps bait in one place and dry! Lots of space for a trap! Lockable! Access for pests both sides. However 2 packs of block bait was NOT with mine! As in advert!
Purchased this as a precaution as saw a rat in the garden but have not seen it more than the initial sighting. No signs of the rodent being in the garden so have not used the bait box but will do if there is signs of rodents in the garden. I gave it five stars for the item arriving on time
Nice size and confit easily against. Close tightly making It’s safe for kids.
It was a little difficult to open at first. The key seems to need a good push in.
The plastic seems a little thin and light. Obviously. This is only designed for a short term to solution for this problem.
But I am expecting high performance from this.
One part of the second box was missing – the metal ‘skewer’ to hold the poison. Contacted the manufacturers, no reply whatsoever. Needed to use the first box immediately so couldn’t return.
After leaving a review, the manufacturer sent the missing parts so stars increased. I will add that a professional came round to assess and said he couldn’t leave me better than this product.
I used Roshield blocks during autumn-winter when we had to battle uncontrolled infestation from neighbours loft spreading to our loft. Observations within a week:
Day 1-2 rats where munching bite, but still we’re active during night.
Day 3-5 intensity of running and scratching went down quite alot, squeaking increased.
Day 6-7 barely any noise coming from loft, few desperate squeaks and no problems since then. Not sure if there’s anything left over in bait box, but no activity since then.
Comparing to Big Name competitors on market, worked quickly and efficiently and main point it WORKED. Chemicals are different to Big Name and results are ways better, and price is cheaper.
Picture might differ from what you get. There are 2 packs of bait on picture, but you get only 1. More then enough to refill stations for round 2, but I doubt you will need to.
Bait boxes are easy to set up, might be a bit tricky to open lock mechanism. Put key in and turn for tiny bit, allowing it to spread latches and release the lid. But once locked is feels very secure.
Sad part – we got another infestation in garage this time and rats were seen coming from neighbours…
Good part – we have product that worked and left us happy last time!
Came in a small box with 2 rat boxes inclosed. Quick and easy to set up from online video. More than plenty Rat Baits for both boxes to get you started. Although units are smaller than expected they do the job and are robust enough for outside weather.
Ok, easy set up just open up load discs on to wire close and leave by a fence, in my case a rat in the garden. Within a week Ratty no longer was showing up checked boxes all food from 1 box gone. Boom. But they say where there’s one, there’s more. Happy with performance good and sturdy. Totally recommend. 5*
The bait box itself is well made, with extensive setup and use instructions included. I believe it’s also British made which is a bonus. My only “criticism” concerns the apparent lack of any instantly obvious advice regarding the handling of the waxy rodentacice blocks. The instructions highlight ingestion and eye contact should be avoided but I can see nowhere info on general handling while setting up, which is the first thing there should be plain advice on!!! Can they be safely handled or not (with hand washing after), or should you use latex-type gloves? (which I did anyway). With all the reams of other useful info included, surely general handling advice should be at the top of the list, as it’s the one thing every buyer will need to do when setting up the boxes. Other than that, it’s an excellent product.
This is a good item but rather than return it I made an adaptation for it. Once I took the rod out and put on the bait … the rod kept slipping out on one end or the other. I just inserting a block of wood high enough to hold the rod in place. Put in proper spot, now just waiting for the bait to be taken… This is a manufacturing fault and no fault of the seller.
This was bought to get rid of mice/rats from a garden shed. The product had good instructions and was easy to set up. Hopefully it will work and solve the problem.
Only downside is that it is so lightweight, that when I saw a rat going into it, it walked it across the patio as it was squeezing into the entrance. The design gives it a domed top so not easy to put anything on it to weight it down. I have since bought a metal box.
The quality when we opened the package was very convincing. It has the Commercial sturdiness and safety features. Also what we appreciated was clear instructions that came with the product, It was detailed and very clear on health and safety. I was also impressed with the email that followed, asking if the delivery and product arrived, phone number to call with any concerns. I completely recommend this company (seller), especially with the concern of how to use, make contact, etc.
Superb Rodent control item. We have not seen any more rats in the garden since we refilled the units a second time. Well worth the money if you have a rodent problem.
Ordered these in November only just using them , the key to unlock is different, it’s now a red key , have followed instructions on how to inset key but boxes won’t open , anyone else have this problem.
Yes it does what it needs to do. Keeps poison safe too.
My neighbours have a big plot that is full of rats. During the lockdown summer they moved one fence panel and all of a sudden we had dozens of huge rats strolling boldly across our garden, and attacking our tortoise.
I quickly bought these bait boxes, and the waxed bait. Then, I just kept typing them up with more and more. Eventually, the bait was lasting longer, until it got to a point where not much was being nibbled.
However, as the boxes are easy enough to hide away, I’ve continued to top them up over the last 2 years. We’ve only had one rat that died in our garden, the rest went home to die.
Been using these for three weeks now and also invested in some roshield traps. Noticed a family of rats in my garden that was not shy and all through out the day running around. So far with the poison and traps I have caught and unalived 7 rats! One being a big adult within the first week of using the poison! Very impressed great quality and definitely works!
Day one, snared one!
Have had a rodent issue for a while now, hearing the pitter-pater of feet inside the home in various places. Snap traps with inviting treats did nothing, except see the treats taken away – along with extra bait. Found myself wanting to ‘see’ something by the way of ‘action’!
Bought these boxes and filled with bait along the rod. Also added a trap in each for extra effect. Within 24 hours there was a ruckus, and one box had snared a rodent. Instantly happy, albeit regretful of the situation. But it was finally helpful to see some positive news out of an otherwise negative and annoying situation. Work in progress!
Before buying these for the barn I had killed ~60 mice in snap traps. I killed them in the barn so I didn’t need to kill them in the house.
This worked until the mice entered into an alliance with the Rat King.
The Rat King sent a declaration of war by stealing my snap traps that were weighted down with 1lb lead weights.
From that day I always carried a knife when in the barn in case the Rat King made his move.
I tried every trap sold on Amazon trying to defeat the Rat King, before accepting I needed to resort to chemical warfare.
Once I set up these poison stations the war was over within weeks. Though I never found the Rat Kings body.
I put two bait stations in the garden 5 days ago, all of the bait has gone in one and the other has had a lot of activity. This will be mice and rat activity. I have not fed the birds now for a couple of months as rats were coming under the fence from next and nested under my shed. Make sure there is no other food they can eat as they will take the bait in the bait station. Too early to tell yet about how effective the wax blocks are but it’s looking good on how much has been taken.
Quality bait station that is a bit fiddly to unlock/lock at times.
Excellent instructions sent from the seller who has just got in contact for an update.
Well packaged on arrival
Ordered up this twin pack of Roshield rodent control boxes. I watched an on-line video showing exactly how to bait your box and this made the process so easy for me. The boxes have now been outside for over a week now and the results in one box have been superb. I baited as described and actually saw a Rat inside with its tail like a pencil sticking out of the hole. I have today opened the bait box and found half the food has been eaten and we have not seen the Rat since. I am hoping this is the last we see of the unwanted rodent and we should now be Rat free. I would highly recommend this product. Each box is very well built and very secure. I weighted each box in position with a heavy block as fixing in position is not an option, as we have concrete gravel boards at the base of our fence panels.
Purchased 2 boxes and bait at the start of April as had seen a couple of mice scampering around the garden, if they had been at the top of the garden then no problem but they were by the door and I wasn’t comfortable. The boxes have been out for a couple of months and today was the day I decided to take a look. First box by the shed had bait taken so I replaced that and put it back, Second box along a wall by a flower border also had bait taken and there appeared to be a little bed if what looked like cat hair there with the mummified body of a mouse in it. Bit of a shock to find a mouse in the box but now I have proof that it works! Happy with the purchase, would rather not kill them but I don’t want them in the house – will add that the locking and unlocking can be a bit fiddly but persevere as it’s worth it and you don’t want it opening too easy and the poison being accessible to other creatures.
I was a bit hesitant about using poison however as we became aware of a rat problem the health & safety of us and our neighbours children was paramount. Also, in discussion with the local council, we were advised they too use this product.
Very easy to follow instructions and safety guide. It took a couple of days to see any bait being taken but then 5/6 blocks disappeared from one box in an overnight. Then saw a gradual reduction in what was being taken to the point where I think only mice were accessing them (the difference in droppings evident too.)
So after 11 days it appears to have eliminated the problem, highly effective product. I’ve now removed the boxes but of course have them available for future if needed. These were a last resort and thankfully did the job very quickly and effectively.
Product arrived safely with full instructions on how to place the bait and where to put it.
Having seen a rat, bigger than most rabbits in my garden going through a hole into my neighbours garden has prompted my buying rat poison.
I live in the countryside in a small village so there will be rats.
I bought these boxes as I don’t wish for birds or cats that visit my garden to get poisoned.
They are a good size, shall monitor if the bait is eaten. You are given a key to unlock the box which is not very strong, hopefully it doesn’t break.
About 6 weeks ago there was just one ‘big daddy’ rat on our lawn. Within a couple of weeks we saw up to 3 rats on the lawn in broad daylight and realised we had a problem. Bought the poison and boxes and set them up as instructed, not directly on the evident rat runs but near to. I also bought a couple of spring traps and baited those when rats were apparent. Caught a couple in the traps overnight for 2-3 nights. Left the poison for 3 days before checking, one box hadn’t been touched but the other showed signs of nibbling. Checked again 3 days later and both boxes had significant nibbling. Reloaded with poison and checked 2 days later – all had been consumed. Reloaded and rechecked couple of days later and all consumed, so ordered more poison. Checked again and little sign of nibbling and no sign of any rats. Now 2 weeks later no sign of any rats, poison boxes removed – problem solved!!!!
You’ve got rats? You’ve got a choice. You can do as I did and opt for the first ‘local’ pest controller you can find, after learning the council doesn’t ‘do’ rats in the garden. Or you can buy two of these for a song. The Pied Piper’s… Do the maths. It might have been cheaper the fly the rats first class back to Hamelin. I paid 294 for a national company (don’t be fooled by the initially local number listed and called – because that will vanish faster than the rats do after booking and a subsequent search) to sub contract to a West Lothian based (only local if you’re in West Lothian) who then deployed a truly local pest controller who turned up a day early, then returned to confirm what I already knew, there are rats under our shed, and a rat run adjacent to the garden fence, and place three bait boxes -IDENTiCAL to these sold, one even bearing the same brand name – along the ratty line of play. You then wait two weeks for his return – around three days after the stated date which means you’ve waited in, called and got no response from West Lothian sub contractors, then tried the belatedly ‘live’ chat at the national booking site – to be told that rats have taken the bait. Or at least you hope they have because there are nibble marks around the bite in two of the boxes – so long as they weren’t there before. – and you did see and hear one rate within the bait box. You also caught three and two mice with humane traps bought on Amazon but that’s another story.. You are offered the option of additional bait boxes for nests for 50 each plus VAT and a disposal charge. Rats don’t just come on four legs. It’s a rip off. So what have I learned? To invest in four of these, additional baits and containers, and, if you don’t want to kill rodents, invest in the humane option – however, I’d advise great caution with that one given the diseases rats carry and how nimble they are, and aggressive when trapped. Mice are much easier to release. The two I caught were still cleaning their whiskers when I went to pick up the traps. Whereas rats were visiting their mates and plotting their release. A trail camera picked all that up. Other tips – I closed off around the base of the shed – although it would have to go 12 in deep to be truly effective – and sprayed peppermint spray, garlic, and white vinegar around ratty hot spots. It deterred a few humans, too, no bad thing in pandemic. These bait stations are exactly what my over priced experts used – and at least I know that the bait was untouched when I put it in place. They are easy to unlock, bait, lock and place. Use gloves for placing the bait and the boxes. Good luck.
Do read the instructions first and watch the video. It’s all the P’s. Poison, Positioning, Patience and Perseverance. Two set in known rat areas. Waited the recommended week and one not touched but the other bait chewed all over. Despite not wanting to use poison a growing infestation has been stopped. I used disposable gloves for safety.
5 star product highly recommended.
As an addition I added ‘ Ratkil Rat Poison (6 x25g) Rat Bait & Mouse Poison Grain’ in the provided bait box internal area. Too early to check this but the aroma seemed very attractive for rats..
UPDATE – Checked after another week and all bait eaten in both bait boxes. Only odd rats seen now are very slow and have obviously taken the bait. I refer to my opening comment of the 4 P’s.
We put 2 boxes of poison on our balcony (1st floor). We have a bird feeder on our balcony; and it used to get visited by the mice. Our neighbours complained. I was concerned that putting plain poison on our balcony would also poison the birds. This is why the boxes are perfect. The birds wouldn’t go anywhere near them. The mice took well over a month to approach the boxes with poison; they just kept wandering around them. Eventually – after well over 1 month – they finally dared to go inside. Once they started, they couldn’t stop. Within a few days, they disappeared. I am very happy with the product.
Note: Squirrels also visit our balcony and our bird feeder. A baby squirrel has managed to stick its head inside the box and grab a bit of poison. I have managed to scare it off though. It still keeps visiting us, so it didn’t get poisoned. This was after the mice had disappeared, so we put the box away. The mice never came back.
If like I did, you you expect your rodents to take a few nibbles of this stuff and promptly keel over towards the afterlife – you’ll be disappointed. In fact by day 7, after piece after piece of bait had been eaten or removed, I was starting to think this ‘poison’ was just expensive rat food and getting quite annoyed.
Until by about day 9, when all of a sudden – nothing! All activity ceased and it ceased for good. Having read up on the poison that’s used in this product, while it can be fatal on first dose, the rodent needs to eat an awful lot of bait. Unless your rats are ravenous that may well not happen and they simply come back and snack over and over again, until slowly the poison builds up in the bodies to a point where it is fatal and then ‘au-revoir’
So although I’d like to have seen quicker results, in the end this finished them off for good.
My order came on time, before receiving,I received an email with full instructions which I thought was really good, it was easy to prepare very good instructions. I never had a rat problem, so I was shocked even more so when it appeared under my fruit trees, we put one either side of the garden, weighted down as recommended. We had tried, onion, baby powder as I was told. It didn’t appear for two days, we had taken down the bird feeders that kept me sane as I’m on lockdown due to ill health. It appeared and demolished my flowerbed, so we put the hose on. I left security light on so I knew if anything arrived during the night. On checking the boxes almost all the bait had gone, and the other one 2 had been eaten. This is a safer way of dealing with this problem. I thoroughly recommend this company, its been 2 days again since we’ve seen our visitor. My neighbours either side saw it in his garden and around the front of our properties. It could be because the refuse hasn’t been collected since Covid-19. I will now keep these baited up even if we don’t see any think. Thank you for the service you haven given.
I bought these boxes together with the bait blocks which fit on a metal rod inside. The boxes are sturdy and secure and do the job well. The bait is easy to set but avoid getting a hand or finger in the way when pushing the metal rod through the block! The only downside I have with the boxes is that when it rains water gets into them and pools in the chambers. To avoid this happening they need to be placed under some shelter. As far as the bait blocks go I had a lot of activity for the first couple of weeks and most of the bait was eaten. I have now replenished the bait and there appears to be no further activity. The only complaint with the bait blocks is that slugs and snails love them and I have had to remove loads of them from the boxes. Not sure how you overcome this problem although I have found that if you raise the boxes off the ground a little it seems to reduce the numbers.
We live in a rural area so Roland rat is a constant worry. I feed the birds and most of the time we are rat free. However, a couple of rats started appearing to feed on the small amounts of fallen bird seed.
I stopped feeding the birds and set a couple of spring loaded traps. These proved ineffective so I ordered 2 Roshield bait boxes and bait. The bait is easy to use and thread. We have dogs so containing the bait is important.
One box was placed under the hedge the other on a bank in the hedge. We saw the rats around the visible box and on later inspection it appeared that none of the bait had been taken. The box in the hedge had bait missing and so far no further sighting of Roland and his buddy. Fingers crossed.
Would have given 5 stars but do not want to tempt providence!
