The sander is great once you work out how to attach the dust bag, but the instructions are up to the usual standard for Ryobi – absolutely useless and even wrong in at least one place.
I have about 20 Ryobi
Base units and 6 batteries means I’m only charging 6 batteries and not a whole host for each individual device. And they are quite solid. Though not really on a professional level (my drill ended up losing its centre), but then it’s not a professional price. I do however use them quite roughly, and they take it. The belt keeps trying to come off so I have to keep my eye on i
Ryobi quality well made and easy to operate. Very handy not having a cable to worry about but you do need a 4/5Ah battery otherwise smaller ones won’t last two minutes. Does the job reasonably well, not as powerful as a mains belt sander but does the job well. Think it’s overpriced IMO but that’s the price you pay for quality and cordless.
What I didn’t like is that this tool appears to have been used, see the dus
The tool is great in principle, but the battery life is destroyed by this tool over a short period of time. he same battery goes for days in my drill and strimmer.
Feels powerful, I haven’t had a belt sander before to compare it to. But it did it’s job. I almost gave it 4 stars because of a poorly designed dust extraction port. Then at the last minute, I remembered that it came with an angled adaptor exactly for this purpose. I’m very happy.
Purchase this to replace a broken old Bosch 240v sander. It is easily as effective as that was but it EATS batteries so don’t even consider using anything less than a 5amp pack.
At last in Europe. I was looking at this product in the U.S (P450) since a while and I’m glad it was released at last in the U.K. The belt sander is very efficient, allowed me to take down some big wood and cements bumps. You can easily manage to find spare belts of the right size (75x457mm) on DIY merchants. One star less for a really really quick time to take down 4.0Ah batteries. In the range of 4-5 minutes, but I suppose that’s the price for the tool efficiency. Otherwise very practical handle, retractable front handle and easily detachable dust bag.
