These Bathroom Scales are a Great Old School Item to keep a check on a persons Body weight.
No Battery’s Needed, just stand on the scales and check the reading .
Make sure the scales are on a hard surface to get the best reading.
The scales are not as sensitive as I had thought
Took at least 3 weeks for my weightless to register on my scales as opposed to those of my slimming group. I would not rely on these for accuracy.
Great scales, the best thing is I can read the display it’s so clear, I usually struggle to see the numbers on the display due to age and bad eyesight.
I bought these scales, climbed on, and they gave me a weight I did not like. I am outraged. How dare they shame me? How dare they work well, show my weight accurately and consistently despite my frustrations and self delusion? I’m now exercising regularly, watching my diet, and the scales are with me every step of the way, showing how little weight I have lost. It’s getting better, but I don’t think I can ever forgive them for the number they first came up with. Buy them by all means, but do not expect to love them. A well manufactured, extremely efficient disgrace!
Coming from glass digital scales and metal analogue years ago, the plastic feels very, very cheap. Apart from that though easy to read, looks great apart from the plastic where you stand I feel should be non slip at least.
Purchased for just over 30, seems fair value. Easy to clean with a cloth, slides well over carpet and vinyl.
Standing on these solid scales and hearing the flurry of the dials is the OG weigh in experience at any doctors surgery. Thus scales is very solid and feels firm and stable under your weight . It weighs accurately each time . There is a reason these classic scales cannot be beaten , reliable and sturdy
Decent quality scales let down by the tiny markers for weight, I had to return them as I could only see the stone markers, impossible to see the pounds while standing up. It’s a shame, they have so much space on what’s quite a large bulky item so could easily have made these more readable.
These really are just like the ones at my local surgery. Very robust build quality and not prone to fluctuations in readings like my previous digital scales were. Worth every penny.
So what is it you require from a pair of bathroom scales? Well for me it’s accuracy and consistency and must be easy to read so these Salter scales have all of these things and yes well slightly more expensive than some scales. They’re very well-made and they come with the 15 year guarantee so my advice is buy them and try them. They really are top-of-the-line scales and for around 25 from Amazon you just can’t go wrong. I’ve had two pairs of lesser scales, one analog and one digital and both of them fail to be consistent. You can stand on them and you get different readings every time so that’s why I decided for once to get some scales like I see at my Doctors and these Salter scales are perfect. I thoroughly recommend them both me and my wife love them.
I have started replacing items, as they wear out, with alternatives that don’t require batteries. These are very robust and look quite smart. The only problem is that they appear to make me lighter than the digital ones! About 4lbs, in fact. I do need to verify this, because those at my GP surgery, which are the same as these, also make me lighter. Which is all very nice, but as I am trying to lose weight, I need an accurate picture. They are, however, consistent, which I suppose is the main thing.
This is one of those ‘does what it says on the tin’ products. There are no frills, but it’s simple and reliable. One word of caution: don’t let your 2 year old grandson jump on the dial, because the plastic detaches, stops the needle from moving, and it’s a bugger to fix. Other than that, it’s fine.
It is first class and a bargain. I just wish I weighed a bit less!
Appear well built, and are accurate. These types of scales are far better than the flimsy electronic ones, that always have a mind of their own. Very pleased.
Value for money and accurate with a good clear window view to see one weigh
Very accurate scales at a reasonable price. Just wish I weighed a little bit less
It was perfect looks amazing big face easily for reading worth the money very good value
Im sure they tell lies and false ones..
No sorry they are a brilliant scales work fantastic
Lol have a fantastic day xx
Fed up of trying to find batteries for my old scales. These seem sturdy and trustworthy
These are not as heavy as I expected them to be but still okay. The dial is a good size which makes it quite easy to read. All in all not a bad set of bathroom scales for the price.
I was fed up of using those digital glass bathroom scales that look great but are about as accurate as a party political broadcast. I decided to go for these old fashioned manual scales, just like the doctors use. They arrived and are large and robust. They do not zero particulary well though, the wheel is at the rear of the scales and it is a little fiddly to zero them perfectly, they are a bit flighty, you do however get there, mine need this doing every single time as they will not return to a perfect zero. Plenty of room to step on and off as the actual deck is large, the one drawback is more my fault then Salters, although for the price I’d say it is an improvement they could make, if you wear reading glasses, as I do, it is really difficult to read the dial accurately whilst standing on the flipping things, as the dial is small from 5ft 10 away. I am looking into getting a page magnifying glass to put over the top of the dial to give me a better chance of seeing the reading whilst on the scales. Only a minor thing but it is actually a big thing for a lot of people. Great scales if you have good eyesight.
For a long time I had been used to digital precision .and temperamental scales;
but I never knew when batteries were running low and of course this affects their accuracy but now I have gone back to these mechanical ones and they take me back years.
Easy to read and clean with a nice clear dial.
Back to basics and I’m very pleased.
last bought this item about 4 years ago – hardly used it but some how the plastic cover on the dial cracked on its own after about 2 years then some months ago stopped working completely as dial just stuck for no apparent reason and just would not move – however bought this again as you get what you pay for this is mass produced in china but still reasonable quality compared to others for similar price imo – it comes with a 10 year or something guarantee but to me that is a waste of time as i dont want the hassle of sending back the other one then waiting for a new one if they agree – for this price salter or not its not gonna last 10 years imo but for the price that is not surprising – if i wanted one to last 10 years or more i would buy the proper quality salter scales but they are hundreds / thousands of pounds each
