We have game night every once in a while with our cousins and they brought over the original Sequence board. We enjoyed it so much we had to buy one and of course AMAZON has it all. We had to have the Harry Potter Board. Comes with all the pieces and is really easy to learn to play. We play it all the time and have competitions on who can build the board up faster and win. A fun time for the whole family!!
One of those games that until you play it it doesn’t sound all that engaging/is hard to explain, but once you’ve had a game or two you understand the appeal and as such in the same vein the whole family can enjoy it even from younger kids, teens to older and even teaching old dogs new tricks with grandparents who haven’t played other classic versions of Sequence before. The HP theme of course makes it perfect for HP fans but absolutely doesn’t hinder non-HarryPotter fans from enjoying the game too. Great price on Amazon, great game and an easy recommendation from our house as we love family games and this is a bit different from all our others and a great price.
This is a review for Sequence Harry Potter Edition | Goliath Games | Family Game | Strategy Game | For ages 7+ | For 2-12 players
This is a really good game. I originally got this for my 7 year old daughter who is mad on Harry Potter, but when we sat down to play it, all of the family really enjoyed it. It is so fun to play. It comes with good instructions on how to play the game. It is definitely good value for money and a game we will continue to play as a family.
Great fun game, well packaged in a sealed box. The prints as expected are top quality, and the card/paper quality is second to none.
Any Harry Potter fan will love every illustration here, and not a single part of this isn’t linked to the franchise. Top quality.
The Harry Potter theme was a welcome addition to a family favourite. Easy to play once the rules are understood and well made to last a good while. Had a lot of fun in family weekends and great for HP fans so would be happy to recommend.
This is a Harry Potter themed version of the game sequence.
Sequence is an easy enough strategy game to play as a family. It is a good quality make although a little hard to read. Mthe game is aged 7 and up but my 6 year old also enjoyed playing it when he was on someone’s team so it can be adapted to a younger player if needed.
Good fun but in the pricey end for games but one we will be playing again.
Sequence is a classic card game. This Harry Potter styled version is well done, though the Harry Potter element is purely a design feature rather than being anything to do with gameplay (so the ‘wizarding twist’ in the marketing spiel is just decorative!). You therefore don’t need to be a Harry Potter fan to play or enjoy the game.
The board, cards and tokens are all decent quality and it’s a game that you can easily play many times.
The gameplay, if you’re not familiar with sequence, is based partly on the luck of the draw and partly on your strategic decision-making (especially whether you choose to focus on building your own sequence vs stopping others building theirs!)
It’s a simple game to learn and can easily be enjoyed by any number of players from 2-12 (if you’re more than 3 then you play in teams). The instructions are well written.
I enjoyed playing it with my wife and a 13 year old daughter (who is a mad Harry Potter fan as it happens!)
My 13-year-old son was new to this classic game. The instruction leaflet that came with the game was easy to follow and he was able to quickly learn the rules of the game and start playing the game like a pro.
The marker chips were made to look like gold, silver and onyx coins and they were convincing. When I shuffled the marker chips in my hand, they made clanking sound like real coins would.
Imagery of the characters and the emblems from Harry Potter – the movie were printed in vivid colours and high resolution on the game board and playing cards. Featuring characters and imagery from Harry Potter in the board game helped to enhance the game play for us; It felt like it was a game between good and evil and reminded me of the duel between Voldemort and Harry in the final movie.
I would recommend this quality product to you. 5 stars.
I’ve never played sequence before so this was a first. After reading the rules which are very clear and not too many we couldn’t wait to start. Its better if there are only three people playing but if there are more then you do need to split into teams as there are only three different colour tokens.
Cards are dealt depending on how many are playing so don’t lose the rules as you may need to refer back to them if playing in teams.
It’s pretty simple to play and games don’t take too long.
The game is well made and good quality but as in all fold up games I’m sure there will be wear and tear in the end.
Great for any potter fan
Family games night was fun with this
Easy to do and involve many players
My son was over the moon to play this he was obviously the best at i
We have two HP mad daughters and their children are going the same way so we thought they would like to have a go with this. The game comes with all the parts required, the board, cards and coins and I have to admit I am at a loss as to what is going on, however they enjoy playing it and the eldest grandchild loves to do what her mum does so all in all it’s a hit. However they tell me the yellow on the board could be another colour to better be able to see it. Reasonable price as well and the pieces store nicely in the box so they don’t go missing.
Such a great family fun game well made hours of fun to be had by all a must for any HP fan see pictures for the true game board and pieces
Super game to play with the family or friends.
Good, understandable description on how to play included.
With such game can surely have a lot of fun. Specially for those who like Harry Potter film.
Price is great for such game.
So surely i can recommend it to all.
Sequence is one of our favourite board games but until now we didn’t own our own set, so were keen to try this one. Game play for Sequence can be hard to explain, even when sitting at a table with the board in front of you, but it’s straightforward once you ‘get’ it. Even our 7-year-old granddaughter enjoys it. We find it works well with two teams of two but pretty-much any number can play.
The Harry Potter theme is interesting but the yellow colouring can be quite hard to see. We have to look hard instead of glancing. It’s still a great game, though. If the Harry Potter association is important to you, by all means buy it — it’ll be fine. Otherwise, perhaps choose the standard edition. Or whichever is cheaper!
Not really sure what the relevance of Harry Potter is, its just a game of sequence, but at the moment its on offer at around 13 so quite good value, great stratagy game, really only for 2/3 people to play, not what I was expecting
We have the traditional sequence game and we got the harry potter version as a fun twist. If you enjoy the original and are a harey potter fan this is grea
Sequence is the classic family fun strategy game by Goliath, with a Harry Potter theme.
The aim of the game is for a player or team to score two sequences before their opponent. A sequence is made up of 5 chips of the same colour in a straight line, diagonally, vertically or horizontally.
The box comes well-packed with a foldable playing board, chips and game cards.
This sequence game comes in the style of Harry Potter, with cards, chips and a board to play on. You play a card, place a chip on the corresponding image on the board and when you have 5 in a row this is a sequence. It took me a while to get it, but our 9 year old understood fairly quickly. It’s a bit advanced for our 5 year old so he is always on one of the adult’s teams. A fun family game.
“Sequence” is a fun, strategy based family board game which is good for repeated gaming sessions.
This edition is blessed with high production values and comes with a sturdy attractive box.
The main attraction for most potential buyrers is likely to be the association with the still highly poular “Harry Potter” franchise. Interesting to notice that the “J K Rowling Wizarding World” tag, which was attached to the first “Fantastic Beasts…” films , seems less instantly recognisable and/or as attractive to the casual consumer as the name “Harry Potter” is. Maybe future releases, of mobies and books as well as associated products like this one will show the boy wizard’s name more prominently, despite , presumably, not featuring the character directly ?
Either way, this is a good, enjoyable game and the HP name will only serve to increase its potential market.
It’s definitely a game for older kids. This game requires you to use a fair bit of strategy and a stroke of luck too. Make sure you shuffle the cards well or you will get some boring deals.
This definitely has potential to be interesting with more players. So far we’ve only managed 2 player games.
A decent thought heavy game especially for 16
We’re new to this (nearest we’ve done is Connect 4 LOL) but had a few games now and enjoying it.
We’re not Harry Potter people so that is not a bonus for us and maybe the standard version would suit, except HP is on offer and cheaper at the moment.
Nice to have none electric games that the family can play together. Takes concentration and planning so is a good mind stretch.
I’ve played Sequence before and the only difference with this edition is the Harry Potter themed decorations on the cards, board and coins.
It’s an easy game to get the hang of and you can play with as little as 2 players.
Good for teaching kids number skills and they’ll be more likely to play due to the Harry Potter theme.
Seems a bit expensive for what you get though.
Hope you found my review helpful
